ADDICTED TO LOVE
WITH a fiancé and her life starting anew, Bonnie makes a few too many mistakes when she falls into the arms of another man.
What started off as one night, spiraled into a lot more than Bonnie expected to take on.
CHAPTER ONE
BAD REPUTATION
LAST night, the angels cheered for Tyler and Bonnie. To everybody around them, it was as if God had been planning that day since they were younger. To be young, happy and successful. And as of last night, the newlyweds had become all three.
When Bonnie got out of bed and walked to the bathroom, her legs were jelly. Was it nerves or my body's response to last night? Her nerves had been shot since then. Years in the making and finally, it was happening. She said yes to Tyler. A boy who merely started as a school yard crush and now fiancé. Her life was on its way to full perfection.
Hot water sputtered out onto her naked body. She ran her hands down the valley between her breasts, coddling one while massaging the other. Bonnie continued her routine and came to a stand still. While the hot water trickled down her back, she rested her head against the shower wall.
Overthinking is Bonnie's middle name. What was once a feeling of happiness, it suddenly turned to confusion. She loved Tyler and wanted nothing more than to be his wife, so why were negative thoughts about to cloud the good ones?
Wrapping herself in a towel, she completed the rest of her morning routine and found her way down the stairs. The sounds of cupboards slamming shut and the masculine humming of a song filled her ears as she entered their kitchen.
There before her stood Tyler. In all of his glory, his back facing her. His wrist moved quickly, mixing the contents in the bowl around. She stood, leaned against the wall. Dressed in only his t-shirt, she watched the show. Pouring the thick mixture out of the bowl, it sizzled on the pan.
Bonnie tiptoed across the ivory porcelain flooring, her feet gliding behind me as she made her way towards him. Inhaling his scent, she kissed the skin on his bare shoulder. He flinched, "I didn't even hear you come in." He told her.
She chuckled and he turned to face me. "I'm slick, what can I say?"
"That you are." He agreed, his eyes following hers as my hers were focused on his mouth. He pecked her lips once before turning back again. "What time do you have to be in today?"
Bonnie checked the clock above the microwave. "That depends on why you're asking." She led. "Want to recap last night?"
Tyler smirked. "Think you can keep up?"
Now it was my turn to smirk. Tyler lifted her up and once her legs securely wrapped around his waist, the two found themselves barely making it up the stairs. Engulfed in one another on the living room floor, his hands worked her body in ways she had felt before.
The aroma of burnt pancakes filled their nostrils. Tyler was no longer attending to our breakfast. He was attending to me. Besides, five more minutes never hurt anyone.
An hour passed and Bonnie was fucked. Figuratively and literally. When she stumbled into the kitchen again, she rushed to turn off the stove. Pancakes completely burned to a crisp. Groaning, she then turned away. She had to leave now or else never hear the end of it.
She was officially in a rush. Her coat draped on her body, not even completely on as she slid on slippers. She reminded herself the whole way from her home to her job to remember to take the slippers off before stepping foot into the office. Her drive from her home to the city took about 15 minutes on a good day, 25 on a bad day.
Today was a bad day. Bonnie had been in traffic for at least 30 minutes before arriving at the office.
Foster-Bennett Holdings Inc was the company. Ran by her stepfather Leo and mother Abby, Bonnie had been working there since before she graduated from university. Right from high school, she went on to get a degree. Then went to business school and graduated early from her class. All of which helped her severely in her placing at the office.
Some may call it nepotism, and Bonnie wouldn't disagree. It was a lot more than that too. She had to work hard to be anywhere near her mother. Abby never lets Bonnie forget either. How easy it will be for her to be out of a job. So whether it came easy to her or not, she took it seriously. Bonnie had a lot out for her.
As soon as she pulled up to the prestigious building, she was immediately met with Charlie. The valet attendant. "Park her gently, Mr. Charlie," the woman warned him.
The 50-something year old man nodded. Their eyes met for a brief moment as she tossed him the keys to her Benz. "Of course, Miss. Bennett." He says, now disappearing behind her as she makes her way inside.
"I should tell you now," spoke a frazzled Anna who had appeared before her. "Your mother is pissed." She says, handing off a folder of papers.
Bonnie shakes her head, denying the folders in her hands. "As opposed to her being happy?" She asks.
"You're 15 minutes late, Bon. The people from the company are here." She points out. "Waiting on you."
As her assistant pushes open the double doors, I walk underneath her and continue down the corridor. The two of us almost collided upon my sudden stop. "Then they shall wait no longer,"
Exchanging her things for the folder of papers and her phone, Bonnie turns away from the blonde who begins to sulk back.
With her butt, the door pushes open. "Wait!" Anna cries, as she rushes to Bonnie.
"What?" Bonnie quips, the door snapping shut.
Her eyes go wide, glancing down at Bonnie's feet. "Shit!" She finally realizes. Remember to take off the slippers. "Right, well give me yours."
"What?"
"Your shoes, Anna. Please? Give me them!" Bonnie seethes once more. Scuffling with the things in her hands, Anna kicks off one heel, switching the belongings in her hands to pull the other on off. They trade her slippers for Anna's suede pumps.
"You owe me," Anna warns, watching as Bonnie disappears behind the door.
"I'm sure that our company's trades would be…" Mrs. Bennett-Foster, Bonnie's mother, stops speaking upon her daughter's arrival. Her head stays down as she sneaks behind swivel chairs and the loafer cladded feet that filled the room.
Looking up, she lets off a smile. "Sorry, uh, please continue." I apologize once more before sitting in the closest empty seat. Her mother glares, sending her daggers straight from hell.
"As I was saying," she continues, "I'm sure that our company's trades would be in your company's best interests."
A mere 15 minutes later, the meeting was over and immediately, Abby flashed her eyes towards her daughter. Bonnie picked up her belongings and scurried to follow her mother out.
Abby was fast on her feet, leaving Bonnie unable to catch up as she stopped in front of her office. She was met with Anna who stood idly by. "How was the meeting?"
"Like it always is," Bonnie answered as she pushed open the doors to her office. "Straight to the point and a lot of stuff I've heard before…" Bonnie stopped. Her desk, which normally took up the center of the office, was shoved off to the side. Straight across from hers was another desk, accompanied by a person who had their back to the two women.
Bonnie and Anna looked at each other, then back at the figure. "Um, can we help you?"
Turning around was a man Bonnie had never seen before. He was dressed in a suit, blue- with a black tie. The man stood with a smirk across his face and his arms folded in front of himself.
"Damon!" Abby called out. All of their attention was diverted towards the door. Glad to see you made it," she greeted. "Hope it wasn't hard to find."
The two broke out into a civilized conversation, leaving Bonnie and Anna beside themselves. Bonnie's weight shifted from one foot to the other as she stared down this "Damon" character.
She watched as his jaw worked against every word he spoke, and how he talked with his hands. They moved swiftly, the words flowing out of his mouth. She studied the way his eyes never seemed to veer away as he spoke to Bonnie's mother.
"I'm sorry to interrupt," Bonnie spoke unapologetically, "But, who are you?"
"Bonnie." Abby spoke, introducing her daughter. "Bonnie, this is Damon. Our new employee."
They didn't have new employees often. Henry, a recent employee, was Abby's right hand man. He had been with the family- the company since the beginning. Until it was discovered that he had been embezzling money right out from under Abby and Leo.
His replacement though? They had yet to find one.
Abby sighed, taking her daughter by her hands and led her a few feet from Anna and Damon. "Be nice," she warned. "As I was saying, this is Damon Salvatore. Until further notice, you have an office mate."
An office mate? What was she, 5? Loud ringing shook Bonnie from her stance. Abby held her hand up, silencing Bonnie, who hadn't even said a word. A few words here and there and Abby was off without another word.
The three stood in silence. Anna checked the watch she didn't have and Bonnie watched as her mother disappeared behind a wall.
Backing from the two girls, Damon headed towards the office and opened the l doors. "This is going to be great, you just wait and see," he claimed. Still in the entrance, he took notice of Anna's apparence. "Nice slippers," he winked and like Abby, Bonnie watched him disappear.
Anna cringed, looking at Bonnie who had a face of pure vexation. "What the hell just happened?" Anna muttered.
"I have no fucking idea."
A/N: I've had this idea for a whileeee and wanted to write it. It's Bamon, I can't help myself. Bonnie's engaged to Mr. Tyler Lockwood. He is not a werewolf. No witches or vampires this time either. It's an all human, au type of story. I really like writing them.
As for the business aspect of the story, it's not that important as I honestly don't know much about business, oops. Long story short, Bonnie is sort of a nepotism baby? Her parents own a stock company and are very rich. I took inspo from Christan Grey haha. So yes, nepotism but she is also a very hardworking woman and tries not to take from her parents. As for Damon, he is her new co-worker and yeahhh.
A lot of stuff is about to go down.
