Hey Guys! Crescent Rider here and I am back with another chapter!
I must admit, I never would have thought that this idea would gain so much attention. But regardless, I'll try to keep people entertained with the story.
That aside, it's time I reveal some additional details after receiving a helpful review from a recent follower.
After some thought on whether Mew's appearance remains the same or assumes a human form in this fanfic. I learned a scenario of each appearance; If Mew maintained its original form, it may lead to issues with humans since in OPM Civilians panic at the sight of monsters or dangerous criminals and Heroes will always result to actions instead of words, especially when it comes to Tatsumaki and Sweet Mask.
If Mew maintained a human form, it would blend in. But after seeing a few canon Pokemon capable of transforming themselves into a human form. I would agree that such a form would feel very cliche and that's something I'd like to prevent.
Then came a third potential option; Why don't I just give Mew an Anthropomorphic Appearance instead? Of course, I won't lean toward Human-like characteristics and focus more on Mew's more notable features such as its pink skin, ears, and tail. As for the figure, I'll go for a child-like appearance.
I haven't settled on the decision just yet. So I'll be sticking with Mew's original form for the time being.
But should I settle for an Anthropomorphic Appearance, I will occasionally show Mew in its original form from time to time because I adore Mew's original appearance (Don't judge me).
As for Gender, I'll surprise you all on that one...
And finally, the answer regarding Mew's power gauge. From what I understand, Mew is a Psychic Pokemon and the ability to Transform into any Pokemon is both versatile and strong. In its original form, it's strong enough to fight Mewtwo by itself (A Pokemon made from a Fossilized Eyelash of Mew)
Therefore, it might be safe to say that Mew could handle Class S Heroes and can get Tatsumaki's attention towards it as a fellow Esper. Blast, I'm not yet certain for that matter.
However, I do understand this. When Mew transforms into a Pokemon that isn't psychic, it cannot use its Psychic Abilities unless it undoes its transformation.
That is all I have to say and enjoy the chapter!
Apartment Balcony
As Mew rested on the balcony, it was soon awake by the sound of a ringing clock. It opened one of its eyes, then it was startled when it heard a loud sound in the room. Mew would float from the balcony, then hover over the balcony glass door, and peeked at the occupant.
Apparently, the occupant had just woken up and his fist was on a hole where the clock was presumably placed last night. Mew continued to stare through the glass, then turned below the apartment as soon as Mew heard a loud bang on the ground.
"The surface is ours!" A monster boasted as it waved its swords all over, "All Surface Dwellers will die! I am the Subterranean King! Surface dwellers, prepare yourselves for-"
Before the Subterranean King could finish his speech, Mew saw the occupant wearing different clothes, jump off of the balcony, and stomp the Subterranean King's head against the ground.
After he jumps off of the Subterranean King's head, he sets his sights on the hole where its minions are gaping their mouths at the swift death of their leader.
"All right, bring it on!" The man yelled with an enthusiastic expression,
However, the Subterranean King's minions have all fled and left a white flag with a written message on it. This causes the man to lose his enthusiasm even though he is tempted to fight them at first.
As for Mew, it just giggled at the Subterraneans' folly but its giggle didn't go unnoticed when the man jumped right back into his balcony. The two soon made eye contact and the man didn't know what to make of it.
When he tilted his head to the left, so did Mew, when he tilted his head to the right, the same results applied. As soon as he straightened his head, three words came out of the man's mouth, "A Weird Flying Cat?"
"Mew?" Mew sounded as it tilted its head to the right,
Since Saitama hasn't shown any hostility towards it, Mew descends until it is within the man's eye level and continues their constant staring. Moments later, the man recalled something of note last night.
'That looks a lot like that cat I saw in the news... It doesn't seem to be here to fight me or anything, Hmmm...' The Occupant inquired, and cupped his chin in thought,
All the while, Mew slowly circles around the man and seemingly waits for him to say something.
Moments later, the man finally said something to him, "Do you want to eat?"
"Mew?" Mew mouthed, and the man looked rather confused by its reply,
However, Mew would follow the man as he went back into his room. The man glances at Mew for a moment, then wonders about what it eats since he doesn't know what aliens eat on Earth.
The only food that came to mind was something he saw on the kitchen counter.
"Do you want a banana?" the man inquired as he presented the banana to Mew,
Mew moves rather close to the banana, then it uses its psychic powers to take the banana off of the man's hands. Mew then peels said banana with its psychic powers, then eats it all before handing the banana peel back.
The man wouldn't question it, instead, he disposed of the banana peel in the trash and began with simple questions.
"So... What are you supposed to be?" The man inquired,
"Mew," Mew replied,
"Mew? Is that it?" The man replied, "You aren't some alien species or something,"
"Mew!" Mew replied as well as nodded to his question, "Mew, Memew, Mew,"
"Uh... I'm afraid I can't understand you. Can you be a bit more specific? Or maybe use words if possible," The man requested,
Mew wonders to itself, and then it decides to use its psychic powers to project what appears to be an earth that's vastly different than the one it's currently in. The man expresses awe and realizes that the Earth before him isn't like his Earth.
Upon closer look, the man was introduced to various creatures that he considered as a bunch of monsters. However, Mew would also show said creatures accompanying humans like their fellow friends or family with them.
Basically, the people are at peace with such creatures while the man in this world has only known monsters that are bent on destruction and loss of human life. Once the projection fades, Mew swirls around and continues with the following sentence, "Mew, Mew! MeMeMew Mew Mew, MeMew,"
"I still don't know what you're saying, but I think I know where you're getting at," The man remarked, "So how did you end up here in the first place?"
Mew projects a dimensional rip, as well as its attempt to seal, said rip. After the projection pops, it is replaced with the Earth's Moon.
"Ah, so you came here by accident?" The man presumed,
"Mew," Mew replied as well as gave a nod to his presumption,
"If that's the case, I take it that you don't know how to get back?" The man assumed, and Mew nodded in response, "You don't have a place to stay, do you?"
Mew responds with a head shake, and the man cupped his chin once more. Sure, Mew is a creature from out of this world, and it seemed pretty normal for a monster to just pop out of nowhere.
However due to Mew's neutral demeanor and interactions. It was somehow clear that Mew may not pose a threat to anyone since he recalled the news about it being less hostile against people. If it did, he would have just dealt with it like every monster he had encountered in the past.
With that thought settled the man reached a decision as he looked into Mew's eyes, "If you like, you could stay here,"
"Mew?" Mew mouthed,
"I mean, I'm used to living alone in this apartment. But I don't mind sharing if you have nowhere else to go," The man said, "On the bright side, you look rather nice as the news said about you. So what do you say?"
Mew glances around the room, hovers all over the place, and examines every square inch of the room. After minutes of flying around, Mew hovers back to the man and nods to his offer before spiraling once in front of him.
"Then it's settled," The man declared, "Feel free to let me know if you need anything, and you can find yourself a place where you feel comfortable sleeping. Oh, and just to let you know, I'm Saitama, Nice to meet you,"
"Mew," Mew replied and wandered all over the room,
Saitama just stared at Mew as it did what it pleased, but he didn't mind its presence and decided to clean up his room for the time being. He also wondered about one particular matter, 'Do I have to buy stuff for pets?'
Meanwhile...
The executives of the Heroes Association have gathered together for their occasional meeting. The first few discussions were regarding incidents that occurred in City-B and City-A, but the real topic at hand was the images of Mew.
"Just what is that supposed to be?"
"It almost looks like a cat,"
"Where in the world did it come from?"
"Hey," An eyepatched executive called out, "Of importance does this creature have at our meeting? Surely, it isn't much of a threat considering how small this thing looks,"
"McCoy-dono, it'd be wise not to underestimate this creature,"
McCoy turns to the executive and gives a displeased look on his face, "Oh? And what do you know of this thing, Sitch?"
"Based upon the heroes' testimonies as well as the testimonies of the Astronauts. We've somehow learned that this creature holds no hostility towards humans," Sitch stated, "In addition, our medical team had examined the survivors that were found near it that day. Their report states that every survivor was healed of their injuries,"
"The same is also said for the Heroes after they lost the battle against the monster that attacked City-A. In their attempt to attack this creature, they were subdued on the spot and their wounds were healed by the same creature," A Bespectacled Man added, "After it healed their injuries, the creature seemingly laughed before departing from the area. We've tried to track it but to no avail,"
"So it's still out there?" McCoy said,
"Precisely," Sitch replied, "Also, The Great Seer, Shibabawa, had once told that a small but powerful creature would appear in this world. We believe that this creature is the one she's referring to,"
"Then what is our course of action? Do we send Class S Heroes to eliminate it?" McCoy presumed,
"Normally, yes. But due to its recent actions, we've decided to inform the Class-S Heroes of this creature first and have them report to us its sightings. It may seem impossible to believe, but we assume that this creature holds no ill intention for humanity," Sitch said,
With that topic settled Sitch could only gaze upon the image of Mew. Though it was a creature from outer space, he had hope that this creature wasn't a threat...
The Following Afternoon
Though Saitama had welcomed Mew to his home, it didn't remain in his apartment for long as Mew went off on its own. To venture into this new world...
As Mew soars the skies, it often plays with the clouds by dashing right through them and then giggling upon the cloud particles that remain on its head and body.
When it looks down, it soon spots a different city and descends its way to the city. Since it learned that humans would attack or panic on sight, Mew decided to stay by the rooftops and overlook the streets.
Without any other Pokemon around, Mew felt out of place as these humans were going about their lives rather normally. But that doesn't mean it's always peaceful when Mew suddenly hears a man's scream nearby.
Mew checked the source of this scream and saw a man hanging on a railing with dear life after the suspension cables seemingly snapped due to lack of maintenance. What makes matters worse for the man is that his weight is proven too much for the remaining cables to hold.
Before long, the third cable snaps and the fourth follows suit. The man was screaming as he was falling from a tall building with scaffolding. Spectators below the ground all watched in horror as the man was about to meet a gruesome end.
But before passing the 3rd floor of the building, the only thing that hit the ground was the scaffolding as it emitted a loud bang in the process. As for the man, he was still panicking but it soon changed into confusion as he was floating in mid-air rather than falling.
He would then meet his savior as Mew floats before him, then slowly lowers him. As soon as they were near ground level, Mew released its hold on the man and giggled to itself.
With this display, everyone in the area decided to pull out their devices and take pictures or videos of Mew and its heroic deeds. For they've never seen a monster that would go through the trouble of saving a human.
Mew would glance around the area, smile at the people, then spring its way back into the skies while the people watched it go. Moments later, two Class-C Heroes arrived at the scene and assessed the situation.
Thus, another one of Mew's sightings was reported to the Heroes Association.
Meanwhile...
Mew soars through the skies and dashes through clouds to pass the time. As the sun sets in the distance, Mew descends to the nearest city and it soon finds a school.
Once it wasn't in the skies, Mew would hide by the trees and eye on the children as their being picked up by their respective parents. As fewer and fewer students leave, Mew plans to leave as well.
But the sounds of a piano drew its attention and it turned to the source of this music. With Mew's psychic powers, it soon learned that the one playing is a female student of this school. Mew would leave the tree and make its way to an open window.
Inside the room, Mew saw the piano player and noticed some struggle as some notes were out of tune to the sheets. But the player seemed calm about her mistake as she pulled her hands away and took a deep breath before continuing with her practice.
The player would go back to the first page of her sheets, clutch her fingers a few times, and then prepare herself for the first note. What interrupted her was something floated about her music sheet.
She expresses a surprised look as Mew just floats above her music sheet, she doesn't panic, stand, or even move an inch. Instead, she just stares into Mew's eyes as the latter stares back at her.
After a brief moment, Mew glances at the music sheet and the player notices its expression. Before long, she starts to play and Mew is entranced by music as it lies next to the piano sheet and relaxes from hearing such soothing music.
What broke the moment was the player's mistake as she pressed the wrong key and Mew slightly raised its head to her, "Sorry, I know it isn't right. But I'm sure you'll like it once I've got it right,"
"Mew," Mew mouthed,
"You should hear how it's really played, it's really good and I'm pretty sure you'll like it more than when I played it," The player suggested,
Mew pauses for a moment, then shakes its head before gazing down at the piano keys. The player follows its gaze, then shifts it back to Mew, "You want to hear me play it instead?"
"Mew!" Mew enthusiastically replied,
"I don't know what you're saying, but I think I understand what you mean. And I appreciate that you'd prefer that I play it," The player said, "But as I said, I still haven't gotten it right and I'll take a while before I get used to it,"
She may not understand Mew's line of speech, but the latter did understand where it was going. After putting some thought into it, Mew raises its head up as an idea comes into mind, "Mew! Mew Mew!"
"What is it?" The player asked as she looked confused by Mew's sudden change of tone,
Outside the School
As the sun was close to setting, a young pompadoured man with a bat was rushing his way to the school. He looked quite distressed to be running this fast, but such a manner comes with a reasonable answer.
Just as he slowed down, he arrived at the gates of the school and pants a few times due to the distance he had to run from where he once was to here.
Moments later, he heard a strict voice in front of him, "Baddo-Onii-chan!"
The man looks up and sees his sister frowning at him with arms crossed together, "You're late, what took you so long,"
"Sorry, Zenko. I was busy with stuff, I promise that I won't do it again," Bad replied,
"You'd better, now can we go home?" Zenko asked,
"Sure," Bad replied, and Zenko held him by the hand, "How are your practices going?"
"Oh, they're fine. But today was special," Zenko revealed,
"Really? How was it special?" Bad inquired,
"While I was practicing on a sheet that I hadn't played before, some pink cat heard me play and it came to listen some more," Zenko explained, "When I said that I hadn't gotten it right, it suddenly changed appearance and started helping me! You should have seen it, Baddo-Onee-Chan. It sounded great when it sang with me,"
"Seriously?! Dang it! I should have been there to hear it!" Bad yelled with regret, then he snapped out of his regret after he processed his sister's words, "Wait, A pink cat helped you?"
"Umu~ It was really cute and really helpful. If you were there earlier, you would have seen it yourself," Zenko remarked,
Bad soon pondered to himself about this pink cat, and then he recalled a particular request from the executives of the Heroes Association.
Apparently, there have been sightings of a creature that looked a lot like a pink cat and was said to be very powerful considering that it restrained five Heroes at once. What piqued his interest is that the creature is quite passive as it healed the injuries of the Heroes it restrained as well as the Civilians that it rescued beneath the rubble of City-A.
Usually, he'd agreed to exterminate this creature. But he was given specific instructions to report anything that was related to the creature, and should it prove itself hostile towards him or anyone around it. He and every other hero is allowed to dispose of this creature.
He now wondered what such a creature would be doing here, let alone his sister's school. There were a lot of questions that needed answers and he wasn't smart enough to put all the pieces together.
Though it caused him to space out as his sister was calling out on him. He snaps once he hears her shout, "Baddo-Onee-Chan!"
"Were you listening to what I just said earlier?" Zenko questioned,
"Huh, Uh well..." Bad tried to reason with her, but Zenko just sighed at her brother's stubborn nature,
"You just don't listen to me sometimes," Zenko remarked,
"Not at all! In fact, I'm interested to know what you've learned today!" Bad said, "How about you explain it all again, I promise that I'll listen to every word you say,"
"Since you promised, I'll start, so you better listen," Zenko stated,
Zenko would explain every detail of today's practice and her brother truly listened to every word she said about her encounter. She also offered him a sample of what she practiced, and he accepted without hesitation...
As for Mew, it soars through the skies and makes its way back to City-Z for the night.
City - Z
As Mew descended from the skies, it arrived at Saitama's apartment and used its psychic powers to open the balcony door. Once it entered, Saitama turned to the door and spotted Mew entering.
"I was wondering where you went," Saitama remarked, "Did you eat while you were out?"
"Mew," Mew replied,
"Still don't know what you're saying, but there's some food that I bought for you on the counter," Saitama said, "So help yourself,"
Mew would go to the kitchen counter and see a bunch of fruit on the table. It would pick up an orange with its psychic powers, peel the skin, and take a slice before feasting on it.
After it finished eating, Mew would fly around the room in search of an area to sleep in. Moments later, it finds itself comfortable on Saitama's chair and curls itself into a ball.
Saitama just stared at Mew for a moment, then decided not to bother it as he finished watching television and slept in for the night.
Meanwhile...
Just a few meters away from Saitama's Apartment, one particular cyborg was monitoring Saitama's balcony with a highly focused camera and wrote his findings onto a notebook.
But during his time monitoring Saitama, the cyborg had spotted what appeared to be a little pink creature opening the balcony door and letting itself in without issue.
Though irrelevant, the cyborg had assumed that this little creature belonged to his master. He also theorized that this little pink creature may be the source of Saitama's powers.
With that theory, Genos wrote this information down in his notebook and hoped to uncover its secrets as well as its connection to Saitama. Hopefully, he can figure out a way to become stronger after he desires to be Saitama's disciple...
Before you all leave, I'd like to inform you all of this story. Mew will not always be Saitama since it prefers to explore the world rather than stay by side all the time.
Kinda like a stray cat that ventures to far distances and only returns to the place it considers home. But don't worry, I will try to make things interesting as I go by with this story.
And lastly, For the Pokemon that Mew used to help Zenko. Let's play a classic game together: It's called "Whose That Pokemon!"
I can't/won't provide pictures. But I will provide hints and it's up to you to guess them.
Here are the hints of the Chapter's Pokemon: Small, Two Forms, and Notes.
The answer will be revealed in the next chapter.
That is all I have to say, and I'll see you all in the next chapter!
