Hey Guys! Crescent Rider here and I am back with another chapter! Now before you all begin, let's start with the usual stuff.
First, the answer to the twelfth 'Who's that Pokemon' is Absol the 'Disaster Pokemon'.
Second, this original chapter will be mixed with some content from the OVA.
And after this, we're jumping into the Alien Conquerors Arc! And I've planned a lot of things there.
With that said and done, enjoy the chapter!
City - Z Apartment
Days after Kombu and Mew bring an esper child into their home, the latter enjoys her company while the former tries to adjust to their psychic training.
The reason is that whenever Mew trains the girl, every inanimate object in the room is floating and they're all in space and the two are mindlessly hovering around the room like it's nobody's business.
Right now, Kombu is in the middle of drinking some fine tea she learned to brew from a book she read while Mew and the girl were floating past her head. She wasn't annoyed at the very least, but she finds it hard to stay focused when everything around her is floating in mid-air.
Even the table is no exception...
After she finished her tea, she stood up, placed the teacup on the table even as it started floating, and went to the floating fridge. She'd pull it down with her hair and open the door to check their food inventory.
With so little food left, she closes the door and turns to Mew and the girl, "We're out of food today, so I'm going out to buy some. Anything you'd like to have, Seaweed?"
The esper child turns towards her via her psychic powers and remains upside down with a smile on her face, "Hamburger steak!"
"Mew!" Mew added, which she and Seaweed understood,
"Then I'll be going out now, try not to break anything while I'm gone," Kombu said and shut the door behind her,
With just the two of them alone, they continue their psychic antics like normal. Though Mew often provides advice when it comes to controlling its psychic powers.
Meanwhile...
Kombu is seen reading a book she borrowed, and beside her is Genos, who she tagged along with as they were heading to the same place as he was.
The two normally stay silent as any form of conversation is irrelevant throughout the trip. But the cyborg had some curiosity about certain topics.
"When did you first find her?" Genos inquired,
"Pardon?" Kombu inquired,
"That girl you brought in the other day," Genos stated, "When and where did you first find her?'
"Hm... I don't know much about the specific details. But what I do know is that she was being transported by some psychic research group known as Tsukuyomi," Kombu nonchalantly revealed, "Mew tried to learn more about it, but her memories are quite limited seeing that the group just took her, and all,"
"Did she not have any family?" Genos asked,
"As far as she remembers, no," Kombu replied, "But we do know that Seaweed once lived in a poorly organized orphanage,"
"I see, then perhaps this organization planned on subjecting her to numerous tests to study her psychic powers, and use them for their own goals and merits," Genos evaluated, what comes after is him rambling about the other possibilities of what Tsukuyomi plans on doing with her psychic powers and various assumptions that Kombu didn't want to listen.
It goes on for a solid ten minutes, and Kombu has just reached her threshold as she puts her book down and gets red in the face, "STOP IT WITH ALL YOUR RAMBLING! I DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT THEY WANT OR HOW THEY USE PSYCHIC POWERS! Geez, just listening to you is giving me a headache,"
Genos wasn't bothered even when Kombu shouted at him. Because Saitama had made it clear that Kombu isn't a threat and shouldn't be eliminated unless she perceives herself as one.
However, one lingering question does remain, and now was the perfect opportunity, "How did you become human?"
"You seriously want to know that story?" Kombu inquired,
"Considering that there aren't any actual records of monsters turning into humans. You are quite rare, especially when you voluntarily give up your identity as a monster," Genos remarked, "On that standard, I would like to know why,"
"Well here's the short version," Kombu said, "Mew found me after I lost my hair, grew it back, and convinced me to become human. Of course, it used whatever power it holds to make me human, that part is something I don't understand,"
Genos just lowered his head and pondered the possibilities of Mew's powers. He knows that it's powerful despite its cat-like appearance. It may as well be the strongest creature in the entire world as he read a report that even Tatsumaki battled and lost to Mew, though the matter is kept secret to minimize any disclosure of Mew's unmeasurable power.
Should it become a threat, Genos could only hope for Saitama to defeat it. As no one in this world could best this creature to a fight...
Back to Mew
With food being short and Kombu's absences in the apartment, Mew decided to accompany Seaweed as they went out of the apartment with some spare change they found in the apartment.
To avoid attention, Mew hides inside a small bag that Seaweed carries, and the latter carefully crosses the streets like Kombu taught her.
She'd do this several times and then sensed a wonderful aroma and rushed towards the source. Upon arrival, it appeared to be a ramen restaurant and Seaweed immediately rushed her way to an empty seat.
The ramen chef would turn to her, and approach her, "What would like, little girl?"
Seaweed turns to the wooden cards containing today's menu and points at the cheapest one, "I'll have one please!"
"Coming right up," The Ramen Chef said and went to prepare her order,
In the meantime, Seaweed rummages into her bag and pulls out a coloring book and crayons, that Kombu bought the other day and passed the time by coloring.
A couple of minutes later, another customer came in and Seaweed heard him gasp a bit as she turned to him. This man happens to be some sort of cyclist and his thoughts are quite open for Seaweed to hear, 'What is a young girl doing in a place like this? Did her parents leave her here all by herself? Maybe I should go out and look for them, but right after I know more about this girl,'
"Can I ask who you are, little girl?" The cyclist politely,
"Seaweed," Seaweed responded,
"Seaweed? Are you certain that that's your name?" The cyclist inquired,
"Umu! Kombu-Onee-Chan named me, therefore, my name is Seaweed," Seaweed stated,
'Kombu? Is she her sister? If so, Why would she leave her here,' The cyclist said
"She didn't leave me," Seaweed corrected, which surprised the cyclist, "She left to buy food, and I came here because I'm hungry,"
"O-Oh, I see," The cyclist replied, being quite dismissive to the fact that she answered him without the appropriate answer,
"May I ask your name, Mister?" Seaweed requested,
"Sure, I'm Satoru. But you may call me, Mumen Rider, if you like," The cyclist said,
"Mumen Rider, are you a hero?" Seaweed assumed,
"I am, even though I'm ranked 1 in Class C, so it's nothing special," Mumen Rider said,
"Okay," Seaweed said, before going back to her coloring book,
Mumen Rider would sit a seat away from Seaweed and order his ramen to the chef. To pass the time on his part, he would either wait or glance at Seaweed's coloring book.
Eventually, Seaweed's ramen came first and she closed her book to start eating. But in the midst of this, Mumen Rider hears something rummaging from Seaweed's bag and what pops out is the head of some yellow mouse-like and it catches him off guard.
As for Seaweed, she turns after splurting the noodle, "Do you want some?"
"Ka!" Mew replied, jumping out of the bag, onto her head, and then on the counter.
Seaweed then gathered some noodles with her chopsticks and fed them to Mew before eating once more.
"Hey, isn't that dangerous?" Mumen Rider questioned,
"What is?" Seaweed inquired with food in her mouth,
"Feeding an animal with those chopsticks you use. Won't you get sick?" Mumen Rider pointed out,
"Oh," Seaweed would slurp her noodles, then wipe her mouth with a napkin, "Not at all, We've done it a couple of times and I've always been healthy every time, isn't that right?"
"Ka!" Mew replied,
While Mumen Rider stares, the Ramen Chef serves the order and notices Mew's presence. Normally, he would have asked for Seaweed not to have it stand on his counter.
But seeing how happy she was and the small jolts of electricity in Mew's cheeks, it decided not to. He assumes that this creature had some sort of ability to discharge electricity, and goes on to drop the matter.
For Mumen Rider, he just feasted on his ramen and enjoyed it with Seaweed's company.
Express Train
On board the same train, Kombu had two plastic bags of groceries while Genos had four boxes filled with live crabs. As they went to their seats, they were met with a familiar hero from Rank B.
Dark-green hair, form-fitting V dress with a high collar, thigh-high boots and pearl necklaces. This was none other than Class B Ranked 1, Fubuki also known as the Blizzard of Hell.
Besides recognizing her, the two sat in their seats. Kombu would sit next to Fubuki while Genos sat at the adjacent seat after setting the boxes next to him.
Genos' eyes are on Fubuki while Kombu reads her book as the train travels to the next. Moments later, the boxes began to jerk and it caught Fubuki and Kombu's attention. Though the latter just glanced at the boxes and then back at her book.
As for the former, Genos revealed the contents of the box and who it was for. Then, Genos receives a call and proceeds to answer. Then he receives a distressing report from the Heroes Association, "What, a bomb?!"
Kombu shuts her book and whips her head up while Fubuki flinches at this.
After being briefed on the situation, Genos closes his phone and plans on telling the passengers. But before he could stand, he found his path suddenly blocked by Kombu's hair and all eyes were set on her, "If what you're about to do is tell to everyone that there's a bomb in this train, I advise that you don't say it out loud. The moment you do, people will start to panic and they'll only end up hurting themselves in the process, do you get me?"
Genos wanted to retort to her words, but he sees the logic in them as sits down, "What do you suggest that we do?"
"Calmly address yourselves as heroes first, then address the situation, and assure them that you'll find and defuse the bomb," Kombu explained, "Do you get me?"
"I do," Genos agreed, stood up from his seat, and did what Kombu advised after the latter pulled her hair back,
"Are you a hero by any chance?" Fubuki inquired,
"I'm not, but I've seen a scenario like this happen," Kombu said, 'Well, in books and movies I've watched...'
But regardless of whether Fubuki knew the truth or not, she was impressed by Kombu's judgment and proceeded to handle the bomb situation with them.
With Fubuki's psychic powers, she carefully dropped the passengers out of the train, Genos tried to slow the train down from the front, and Kombu decided to find the bomb with a Class-C - C Hero, Swim after the latter volunteered to help.
They'd checked every door in the train, and went Swim found a locked down, she notified Kombu from the get-go, "Here's a locked door,"
Kombu would stand in front of it, then push some of her hair through the narrow spaces of the door. Once she wrapped them around the hinges, Kombu strengthened it with her aura and pulled the doors off while Swim took the sides.
Before them was a large pile of bombs, and it caused some distress between the two.
"What should we do? Do we try and disarm them?" Swim inquired,
"I've only seen one or two bombs before, but I've never seen this many bombs in one place. Whatever beef he has on City-Z, it may as well as be personal," Kombu presumed,
"I-I'll go and get Fubuki-san!" Swim said and left,
For Kombu, she remained rational and tried to figure out a way to disarm them.
Then Swim returned with Fubuki and the latter went to Kombu's side, "Do you know how to disarm them?"
"There's too many of them and they come in various types," Kombu said, "Also, I'm not an expert in defusing bombs. So, I'm afraid that our options are limited,"
"What should we do?!" Swim cried out in distress, "We're out of-"
"Be quiet!" Fubuki yelled, "Whining won't change anything!"
For Kombu, she ponders to herself on what to do with this bomb. But knowing that the destination is City-Z, she resorts to the only option she has.
"Fubuki, I want you to lend me your hand for a moment," Kombu requested,
"What for?" Fubuki asked,
"There's no time, just do it," Kombu insisted and Fubuki stretched her hand to her,
Kombu then firmly grasps it, channels her aura to Fubuki's, and extends the range of the psychic's range. This amazed the latter as she could feel this energy coursing through her body, 'What's with this energy, it may not be like my sister's. but its output is way above mine, and she isn't even an Esper '
Once Fubuki's psychic range has increased, Kombu relayed her thoughts through her and the Esper hears every word in her mind, 'If you can hear me, I need both here. If you don't come, we won't be getting any food for tonight,'
'Food? What does food have to do with-' Before Fubuki could finish that thought, she and Swim were soon met with Kombu's intended aid, a young psychic girl.
"We're here!" Seaweed said after being teleported to the area, and Mew was hovering above the latter, "Now what seems to be the problem?"
Swim expressed surprise while Fubuki was shocked as she now learned that Kombu was connected to Mew, the alien beyond this world.
Kombu, quickly but thoroughly provides the instructions needed for this situation, "This bomb will explode when it reaches the station. Can you stop the train and take this bomb somewhere it'll cause no harm?"
"Mew!/ You can count on us!" Seaweed and Mew replied before acting upon their role,
Mew landed on the bomb and teleported it out of the cart while Seaweed took a breath before smiling as she unleashed her psychic powers onto the train's wheelset.
They acted as a brake as the train rumbled around them, and in just a matter of minutes, the train somehow stopped in its tracks. To ensure that it doesn't start moving again, Seaweed was told to drain the power from the train and convert it into her own.
With the crisis averted, Seaweed powers down, and Mew returns after sending the bomb to a place where it won't harm anyone. Swim would fall to her knees and sigh with relief while Fubuki remained baffled by what she had witnessed.
For she had witnessed two spectacular heroes in action and uncovered a connection between Kombu and Mew. She can't even begin to fathom the chances of this kind of encounter.
But before she could say or do anything, Kombu had her priorities straight, "Seaweed, can you get the groceries for me? They're inside two plastic bags,"
Seaweed quickly peers through Kombu's mind with her psychic powers, then holds the two plastic bags with said power, "I have them,"
"Great, now let's go home," Kombu said,
"Okay!" Seaweed agreed, and so did Mew,
"Hey, wait!" Fubuki called out, but Mew had teleported the two and itself off the train,
City - Z Apartment
After the three returned to the apartment, Kombu read today's instructions for cooking Hamburger Steak as she cooked said food for tonight's dinner while Seaweed and Mew were playing a child's game while the latter donned the same mouse transformation for this game.
Once Kombu finished cooking, she served them on three separate plates and served them on the table.
Before they eat tonight's dinner, they undergo one human custom that becomes a habit in this household, "Itadakimasu!"
Seaweed and Mew would eat first while Kombu was a bit slower as she watched the two. Seeing their satisfied faces had brought some pride in her skills, but seeing their smiles had caused her lips to curl up one as well.
For she never felt happier than when she was a monster...
That is it for this chapter! What comes next is the Alien Conqueror Arc.
But before you all go, you all may be wondering; Why would I name the young psychic 'Seaweed' instead of some significant name?
Well, you'll find out in the next chapter.
As for the hint of the thirteenth 'Who's that Pokemon'. You won't need it as its appearance and dialogue are obvious hints as it is.
And finally, I saw the trailer of One Punch Man season 3. Even though they're being animated by the same studio as Season 2, I'm hyped to see the Monster Association Arc go down in the Anime.
That is all I have to say, and I'll see you all in the next chapter!
