Hey Guys! Crescent Rider here and I am back with another chapter! But before you all begin, here's the usual.
First, the answer to the Second 'Who's That Pokemon' of Vol. 2 is Deoxys, 'DNA Pokemon'. As for how Alien is involved, Deoxys was originally a virus from outer space and mutates.
Up next, I don't want to sound offensive to someone who reviewed my story. But when comparing Tatsumaki and Mew via Psychic Powers. The latter topples the former given that Mew has lived a lot longer than Tatsumaki, possesses several abilities of various Pokemon, and strongly rivaled Mewtwo, A strong genetic clone of Mew's.
As for Seaweed's psychic ability, I will say that she outrivals Fubuki since she was able to stop a Running Train alone and drain its power for her own. That's just tipping the iceberg as I intend to go further into Seaweed's capability.
Know that I'm not making a debate. I'm just giving an opinion on the matter.
That is all I have to say and enjoy the chapter!
City - Z Apartment
Inside Saitama's room, it somehow became a little cramped due to the number of people inside. King is seen on the television with Seaweed playing a fighter game, Seaweed reads a manga that King brought as well, Fubuki by the table for no particular reason but herself, and Genos remains by Saitama's side.
However, the latter watch King and Seaweed play said game and their game characters fight amongst each other. After a minute or so, King beats Seaweed's character as the announcer declares the winner though the health bar of his character was cutting a little too close to zero.
'For a girl who hasn't touched a controller, she's really good. I'd better step up my game, if not,' King dons quite a serious look, as he held his controller professionally, 'I'll play this game for real...'
The reason why Seaweed was able to push King into a corner in-game is due to the memorization of her character's combo inputs. Though she memorized said combos, she has yet to learn and attain the same level of skills King has in fighting games.
"Eh... That game looks fun, I can play?" Saitama inquired,
"You want to play, Saitama-san?" Seaweed inquired and offered control to him,
"Sure, may a round or two," Saitama declared as he took the control,
While he and King play, Seaweed goes to Kombu's side and reads the manga with her. The story spoke of a young boy going on an adventure with his trusted flying companion. The very smile of the character brought a smile to Seaweed's lips and Kombu glanced at her.
Though the smile looked sincere, she knew her all too well. Especially when this companion is much like Mew in a way...
If that wasn't enough, Deoxys had somehow left the apartment and occasionally returned to idle around or teach Seaweed's psychic training. When it plans to leave, she always asks Deoxys about Mew's whereabouts and well-being. Though it gave vague hints of Mew's activities, it didn't mention anything about when Mew will truly return.
It's quite concerning, but Kombu tries what she can to cope with her loneliness from time to time.
"I want another one," Saitama demanded as he was easily beaten by King in the game,
Kombu just glanced at him, then turned her gaze to Fubuki next, "How are your men doing?"
"They're doing just fine," Fubuki revealed as she ate a chip from her bag of chips, "Nothing too serious about their injuries,"
"I see, good to know," Kombu understood, and continued to read the manga with Seaweed,
There was a short period of silence, then Fubuki opened her mouth, "Would like to-"
"No thanks," Kombu declined much to Fubuki's dismay,
"But you haven't even heard of my offer!" Fubuki exclaimed,
"But I know what you're about to offer," Kombu presumed, "What you want is for Seaweed and me to join your hero group. Thanks, but we'll do just fine on our own,"
Fubuki looked quite displeased but accepted their response nonetheless. Also, she recalled that when King first entered the room to visit Saitama, those two were with him. So, she assumed that they'd picked up King's interest and became his underlings. Something she'd expect from the Strongest Hero given his reputation, but unexpected for him to accept both Kombu and Seaweed on the same day she visited.
The Association will certainly get wind of this information, and they'll soar through the ranks further than any hero would dream of attaining...
As Saitama had lost another round against King, he soon heard a knock on his door and turned to it, "Who is it this time?"
"Let's find out," Seaweed declared, and used her psychic powers to open the door rather than see who's on the other side,
Then came Bang's top and only student, Charanko, who walked into the room with bruises all over,
"Charanko? What on earth has happened to you?" Seaweed asked,
"About that..." Charanko muttered, then sat down on his knees,
He then explained that he and Bang proceeded with another training lesson, but the latter didn't hold back in his tutoring. After the lesson, he expelled Charanko from the dojo and was told to never come back. Kombu and Seaweed find this behavior quite unusual since they've labeled the old martial artist as a kind hero.
After he finished, Genos assumed that Garou's recent assault on the Heroes Association. The latter had incapacitated three Class - A Heroes, beat up a room full of notorious criminals, and declared war on the Association while going on a hunting spree against Heroes.
That must be the sole reason why Bang expelled Charanko. For he'll only get in the way of their apprehension against Garou...
"Is Garou really a problem, Kombu-Onee-chan?" Seaweed inquired,
"For heroes, yes. So be careful when you see him," Kombu advised,
"Okay," Seaweed agreed,
After another short discussion, Charanko leaves and so do King and Fubuki. Kombu and Seaweed would return to their room for the night, though the latter had one thing in mind as she glanced at the balcony, "Mew-sensei... When will you come back...?"
Seaweed soon slept in Kombu's arms after...
The Next Morning...
Bang and his older brother, Bomb, had arrived at the scene where numerous heroes were beaten into a pulp. They suspected that Garou had a hand in this since there was Tank-Top Master, one of the Class -S Heroes and leader of the Tank-Top Army, lying on the ground with a bruised face.
Though Bomb asked about how Gatou had become strong, Bang was looking down by the bushes where Charanko had been a victim of Garou's assault. It somehow caused a little pain in the old man's heart, and he wouldn't forget this image until he had dealt with Garou.
Then he heard Bomb's voice over something he had seen, "A Monster?"
Bang turns to his brother's general direction and is met with Mew, who eyed every injured Hero present. It caused quite a bit of concern, when Bang introduced it to his brother, "It may be a monster, Onii-chan. But it's no threat to us,"
Bomb turns to him as Bang continues, "I have been acquainted with this creature as well as its fellow companions. It's powerful, true. But its benevolence for humans is spoken for. Or have you forgotten what I've told you?"
"Ah, so this is the creature known as Mew," Bomb remarked, "It certainly does look like a cat as the news I've seen. Quite an honor to see it in person,"
After Mew finished examining the injured heroes, it then approached Bang with a curious look on its face, "If you are wondering what happened, my former pupil had a hand in this. Though I fear this wouldn't be the last,"
"Mew?" Mew mouthed,
"Garou has every intention of beating every Hero he comes across. Whether they'd be Class -C or Class -S, Garou will not stop until he achieves his heinous goal. Whichever may that be..."
"So I'd advise you to tell those two youngsters to be careful. For they might be his next targets," Bang advised,
Mew just stayed silent, and Bang left the area with his brother after he contacted the emergency line. What follows is Mew using its powers to heal everyone in a stable condition and leaves to parts unknown.
Though Mew has taken heed of Bang's advice, it feels certain that they'll be fine given their potential...
Afternoon
Kombu and Seaweed are seen entering the hospital with Saitama by their side. After they went towards the reception, Saitama went and visited his friend Mumen Rider while Kombu and Seaweed went to another room.
As soon as they opened the door, they saw Charanko on a bed with a cast on his right foot, an arm sling on his left casted arm, and a bandage wrapped around his head.
"Hello!" Seaweed greeted, "We heard what happened, Charanko-san. Are you going to be alright?"
"Uh... I think I will, though I'm quite lucky to have gotten myself out of that alive," Charanko expressed,
"You're lucky to even be alive at all," Kombu remarked, and placed some get-well gifts on the table, "Given how weak you are, and not a hero. No offense,"
"Nah, I don't mind. Besides, it was foolish of me to think that I'd stand a chance against him," Charanko admitted, "I just didn't want Bang-sensei to feel burdened over my weakness,"
"He doesn't think like that, it's just complicated given how Bang trained Garou in the first place. If anything he feels responsible with his disciple," Kombu assured,
"I see... Maybe I should've thought things through than to rush ahead like that," Charanko understood,
"That reminds me, what was Garou like? Before you were beaten by him?" Seaweed inquired,
"Seaweed, that's an inappropriate question to ask of him," Kombu lightly scolded,
"Oh, sorry," Seaweed apologized,
"He was a like monster," Charanko revealed, and the two turned to him, "That night before he knocked me out, he was beating all those heroes like they were prey to him. All I could hear was their screams as Garou beat them all a like strong monster would..."
"We've heard that Garou claimed himself to be a Monster despite being human," Kombu remarked, then gently placed her hand onto Seaweed's head, "If what you say is true, then we may as well stay on our toes. Because who knows what he'll do should we encounter him..."
After that and some small talk, the two decided to leave the hospital and went back to the apartment to do some Hero Work. But given how monsters are popping up faster than normal, something tells them that there's a plot going on and they'd better be prepared for whatever comes in their way...
Early Evening
Mew continues to soar across the clothes until it descends on a rooftop and scans the entire area. When the area is clear, it goes to another roof and scans the area.
Its way of searching for people was by reading their thoughts and intentions and Mew was patient enough to read through all of them. And after an hour had passed, it soon heard what it was searching for, 'Is this guy for real?'
Mew turned southwest of its position and hovered its way toward the source. It then hid behind a large sight and peeked through the gaps. That's when it spots two men in question.
The first man was sitting on a bench, wearing a black coat over a red collar shirt, long black pants, black leather shoes, and a sword with a black sheath and three red lines near the end cap. (For a more simplified reference: Search Yakuza Kenshi from MK1)
The second man standing near him had long silver hair similar to Bang's and wore a black tight-long-sleeved shirt, loose-fitting white martial arts pants, a yellow sash around his waist, and tai chi slippers. This man was no doubt Bang's former student, Garou.
The tension between these two men isn't hostile as Garou expresses confusion to this man. What was wrapped in the man's eyes was a white blindfold, symbolizing his blindness.
'I have heard strange stories of Class-A Hero, Red Sword, but what I didn't expect is that the Hero Almanac missed his disability,' Garou remarked, 'Is he worth my time?'
"I do not know who you are, but I can assume that you're human," Red Sword remarked, "Had you been a monster, you would've attacked long from the moment you saw me,"
Garou scoffed the hero's words, then he invoked, "You can say that, but if I were to say that I am a monster, what would you do then? Will you fight me or run to save yourself?"
"Both options seemed viable, but whether I fight or run, I doubt I'll last nor go far," Red Sword modestly admitted, and stood from the bench, "So do what you will, I will not falter nor will I flee,"
Mew assumed that Garou was going to assault Red Sword despite the latter's major disadvantage. However, the former then clicked his tongue, hands in his pocket, and turned away, "You know what? I've changed my mind. Just do whatever you want to do,"
'Besides, Golden Ball would still be at the bar he usually hangs around. I just hope he's more of a challenge than this guy,' Garou declared,
"Of course, Then I wish you good luck on your endeavor," Red Sword said, and bowed despite not turning in Garou's direction,
"Oi, Oi, why would you wish me luck on my endeavors?" Garou questioned, "In case you don't know, I'm Garou the Monster,"
"It's only my way of showing manners. Though your intentions are considered evil, I still show courtesy towards Friends and Foe," Red Sword admitted, "Also, I can do so little to stop you, Garou-kun,"
"Huh? Where the hell did that come from?" Garou dismissed, "On second thought, don't answer that. Just try not to hurt yourself when walking home,"
He soon left Red Sword in the area and Mew was intrigued by their conversation since it now knows that Bang's former pupil still has some honor towards certain Heroes. There was hope in Garou, and Mew wished him luck as well.
Putting that thought aside, Mew turned to Red Sword and noticed how slow and careful he was in navigating through the streets with his sheathed sword as his cane. For that, Mew decided to follow him instead of following Garou to his next victim...
The Next Day...
With Kombu taking Seaweed to school, they stopped to see Saitama and Genos exiting from their apartment. What they didn't expect was for the former to wear a martial arts uniform and a large wig.
They stare for a long period, and then Kombu turns to Seaweed, "Can you stay here for a second?"
"Sure," Seaweed replied, and Kombu walked back into their apartment room,
As soon as the door was shut, Kombu did not resist the temptation to laugh at the sight of Saitama wearing a large and bushy wig on his head. It was loud enough to be heard through the door.
After she finished, she walked out of the door with a composed look on her face, "Sorry for keeping you out here for long, Seaweed,"
"I-It's okay," Seaweed understood, "But I'd like to ask. Why is Saitama-san wearing a wig?"
"His issue with hair must've been too much of an issue for him to handle. Given how the Association named him 'Caped Baldy,'" Kombu presumed,
"That has nothing to do with this wig," Saitama denied while a small tick mark formed on the back of his head, "The reason is that I plan on participating in some tournament,"
Saitama showed the ticket to them, and the two examined said ticket. Then one of them recognized the location of the tournament 'Super Fight'.
"Oh, you're going to participate in that tournament too?" Kombu inquired,
"Too?" Saitama mouthed,
"Umu~ A friend of mine invited me into it, and I agreed," Kombu revealed, then showed a ticket of her own, "She even registered my name for me,"
"I didn't know you made a friend," Seaweed remarked,
"I'll introduce you to her soon," Kombu said,
"With Saitama-sensei competing, I highly doubt you'll last a second with him," Genos stated with utmost confidence,
"You think I don't know that?" Kombu remarked, "I fought and lost to him before, you know. But the arrangement of matches there doesn't guarantee that I'll face him in the ring, but the first chance I do, I'll forfeit and leave without issue,"
"Good to hear," Saitama remarked,
"Can I come?" Seaweed inquired,
"I'm afraid you can't, you have school, remember?" Kombu reminded,
"Aw..." Seaweed groaned,
Kombu just patted her head, then took her to school while Saitama and Genos went to the Super Fight Arena. Whatever competition they'll face in the ring, they hope to learn whatever they can about Martial Arts...
Unknown Location
Beneath City - Z's Ghost Town lies a gathering of monsters...
Each and every monster has ulterior motives for being here but possesses one singular goal in mind...
...
To topple the Heroes Association...
The one who gathered these monsters was a large pink monster with various arms and a single eye. It mainly uses telepathy as its only form of communication and brings about its voice to every monster present.
But the one who leads such a group is a gigantic monster whose body fits the largest area around, possesses various large fangs and claws and idly remains upon its towering throne.
These monsters were Gyoro Gyoro, Monster Association's head advisor, and Orochi, leader of the Monster Association. As for the rest of these monsters, their threat level ranges from Tiger to Dragon.
And among their ranks apparently is Deoxys, whose ulterior motives are unknown even to the Monster Association's psychic monsters...
"Now that everyone's here, it is time for the first phase of our plan..." Gyoro Gyoro announced, and it caused several crackles to the lower-ranking monsters while Deoxys was neutral towards their objective.
Its true goal is to observe their movements and study the powers of every Dragon Threat monster present...
"Now... Let us begin," Gyoro Gyoro announced, and all low-ranking monsters roared in anticipation,
Whatever plan they had in store, it was certain that they were up to no good for the inhabitants of this world...
That is it for this chapter, and I must apologize for how short it was. But in exchange for my shortcomings, I will tell you a few things that have happened and what will in the next chapter.
Mew would obviously train the blind hero, you'll know his backstory, Kombu indeed made a friend and joined the Super Fight Tournament, and Deoxys tagged along with the Monster Association but isn't interested in their plan like it first appeared in the Alien Conqueror Arc.
Second, there won't be a third 'Who's that Pokemon' since Mew didn't transform in the first place. I'll save that for another chapter.
And finally, I've got a lot of plans for this Arc but expect some original chapters along the way.
That is all I have to say and I'll see you all in the next chapter!
