Sneaky Brawl for the Dark Fighters
"And you're sure?" Cinder asked, pacing around in the room and hearing about what Mercury saw earlier in the courtyard.
"Bad hair, used a scythe, and smelled like my dad after a long day. It was him. Not only that, but there was this really old but really strong old man stopping the fight too." Mercury informed the mean boss lady.
"Old man, like dinosaur old?" Emerald asked.
"More like a dinosaur who has some done serious workout with the tiny arms becoming ultra big and dress up like a monk too." Mercury mentioned.
"Monk, you say?" Cinder started to think about this old man, remembering something she heard a while back about a strong old man being the master of a unique and strong martial art style.
"What do we do?" Emerald asked, hoping this isn't a bad thing for their plan.
"Considering all the big players here, getting the plan to bare fruit has become a little more difficult than we thought." Cinder admitted.
"Do we need to change anything?" Mercury asked, hoping this doesn't become a big pain in the ass because of the extra faces around.
"Maybe one thing, I will have to call Shaladoo for a little support." Cinder believed she could use their help a little more.
"But other than that, we don't have to worry about anything as we stay on course. They have no idea who we are, so we have no reason to worry. Besides, the last of the heavy lifting is being taken care of thanks to our clever little friend." Cinder said sitting on her bed.
Cinder heard her Scroll beeps while flashing with the black queen chess piece, she picks it up to see the "W" emblem on it.
"Speaking of which... it appears we have a new access point." Cindee grinned.
"Anywhere good?" Emerald asked.
"You could say that. Go to your rooms. I'll prepare everything for tomorrow." Cinder ordered.
"Yes, ma'am." Emerald nodded as she and Mercury stood up heading off to their rooms, but the former stop for a moment.
"Are you sure we shouldn't be worried about something, like if Sun got involve again?" Emerald asked with a little concern.
"I have thought about that, he is somehow at the center and has proven to be quite the obstacle though I doubt he'll be a major issue to the plan." Cinder stated.
"But that doesn't mean I'm denying his strength, that is something to watch out for." Cinder said.
"Adam did say he wanted Sun for himself to settle things or whatever, but is he, like, going to kill him?" Emerald asked, twirling her hair a little.
"Oh, my dear Emerald, are you really worried about one monkey boy? Don't tell me you've fallen in love with him." Cinder teased with a grin, causing Emerald to blush in shock.
"Oh fuck no, I am not in love with the guy! You're the one in love with the monkey boy!" Emerald pointed out bluntly.
This time, Cinder does blush a bit from that and can even feel her heart just skipped a beat for a second there though quickly regain her composure.
"Just go rest up for tomorrow and be ready to give the fight everything you have." Cinder ordered with her serious glare.
Emerald nods rapidly and went into her room, then Cinder went over her Scroll to find that she has access to the selecting fighters' section along with the field which gives her an easy access to make the tournament in her favor.
"Let's give the crowd a good fight." Cinder excitedly.
She went on one side to have Mercury and Emerald be one of the first pairs in the Double Round and went on to selecting the next pair, decided to go with Coco Adel and Yatsuhashi Daichi from Team CFYV seeing how strong they are from the words she heard.
(Next Day, Double Round)
The scene shows the arena again with showing the selection hologram display show the fighters being Mercury and Emerald vs Coco and Yatsuhashi, just like how Cinder planned it to be.
"The randomization process is complete! Ladies and gentlemen, your doubles tournament line-up!" Port announced.
"Oh yeah, go ladies!" Sun cheered.
"Sun, one of them is a guy." Cammy pointed out.
"Sorry, I thought that Velvet chick was gonna be in the double round and give her some cheering." Sun explained.
"Oh, looking forward to adding a bunny girl to the harem." Yang grinned as she leans onto Sun.
"M-Me!" Velvet gasped blushing, sitting next to the group with Fox. She didn't expect herself to be a catch to anyone like an underclassman.
"Ew, could you guys do your love thing somewhere else when I'm around? I'm still trying to get use it." Ruby grossed out of the love scene a little.
"Don't worry, Ruby. You'll find your own love soon, that way you won't feel awkward about it." Summer promised.
"That is if she doesn't get too distracted with weapons." Raven commented.
"Oh yeah, I am so not missing this!" Mika excitedly.
"Emerald and Mercury of Haven, versus Coco and Yatsuhashi of Beacon!" Port said.
"Good luck, you two!" Velvet cheered while Fox waves at them.
"Come on, go out there and kick their ass!" Nora shouted with a scary grin.
"Remind me to go on a mission with her." Raven interested in Nora being all hype and exciting for the match that has yet to start.
The fighting stage change into four ways such is one area being the tall grassy field, the second being a forest, and third having multiple geyser spots, and the final area is a ruined city.
"Hey! Love the outfit, kid!" Coco complimented on Emerald's style.
"I'll try not to get blood on it." Emerald smiled back.
"I can't promise you'll leave without a scratch." Yatsuhashi said as he stood up from his meditation and pull his sword off from his back.
"I won't be the one bleeding." Emerald grinned while stretching her arms.
"Ooh, I like her!" Coco commented, thinking this girl is gonna be fun.
"Summer, let's keep our eyes closely on Mercury and Emerald." Raven advised to her wife.
"Why, is there anything special about those two that piqued your interest?" Summer asked.
"It's not that, my instincts are telling me that something is really off about those two that seems too convincing and they're more trouble on the inside." Raven whispered to her.
"To be honest, I did have a weird feeling about those two even when that Emerald girl seems nice." Summer agreed with Raven on this one, those two are definitely hiding something dark and they need to be careful around them.
"Alright, the fight is about to start!" Sun smiled.
(Music: Fighting, Yellowcard)
"Three, two, one, begin!"
The match begins, the ones who made the first move are Emerald Mercury though they didn't go forward to attack their opponents, they walk backward to go right into the tall grass field to conceal themselves from their sight.
"(Trying to hide from our field of vision, not bad. But not good enough.)" Coco thought smirked as she looks at Yatsuhashi who gave her a nod.
Coco turns her purse into the gatling machine gun firing off bullets that cut off the tall grass into shorter grass but stop when they notice that both have disappeared from the field.
"Where did they go?" Elena asked, surprise.
"Above them!" Blake saw the sneak attack.
Mercury reveals himself to be above and comes down to attack Coco only for Yatsuhashi and block the attack with his sword, Mercury is pushed off and runs around to dodge the bullets from Coco.
"He's good! Just like in that combat class with Pyrrha." Sun commented.
"But didn't he forfeit that match because Pyrrha was too much for him?" Neptune asked, recalling that moment.
"He did, but I have a feeling that he was only holding back his true strength." Sun believed, feeling that from his fighter instinct.
"Huh, guys, where's the girl?" Scarlet asked.
"She's trying somewhere in one of those stages, waiting for the right moment to join her friend or ambush one of them." Elena guessed.
"That means Mercury is only fighting two of them for Emerald to get her chance." Weiss realized.
Back at the fighting stage, Mercury is holding himself well against both second-year students of Beacon as they are struggling a bit to land a good hit on him.
But then Yatsuhashi was able to get him when Mercury threw one kick to the face and then caught the second kick with his hand in a firm grip and lifts him high into the air and moves down to slam Mercury onto the ground faster than he could reacted and repeated this a couple more times.
"(Shit, this guy is strong!)" Mercury thought groaned in pain. Mentally thanking himself for having Aura.
Mercury quickly kicked the hand away and flip himself over to Coco who shoots only for him to jump and kick the machine gun down and kick her in the head, Yatsuhashi comes to help with a slash though dodges and flips behind Coco to shove the machine onto his stomach.
Yatsuhashi was a bit surprise by this, but he knew this guy is up to something in this position and quickly thought of a way by grabbing the barrel of the machine gun and pulling it past him.
"Gotcha!" Yatsuhashi thrusted his sword at Mercury.
Mercury quickly moves his head to dodge the giant blade and that leaves him a bit of distracted for Coco to change her machine gun back into a purse to smack Mercury on the stomach, sending him flying several feet as he backflips.
"Okay, that was a good hit." Mercury smirked before he unleashed two blasts at his two opponents.
Coco and Yatsuhashi deflect each blast but are shocked to see that Mercury is already preparing to unleash an attack after the two blasts.
Mercury is spinning upside-down on his hands and firing lots of air Dust bullets spinning around him for a moment.
"Whoa, now that's an attack to 'kick' this match up a notch!" Yang punned shock.
"As if the guy didn't think he was hot aired enough." Ren commented, unintentionally making a pun from that.
"Ren, you just did a pun." Nora said, this causes Ren to hang his head down in shame.
Mercury unleashes the air attacks to create a smoke scene blinding Coco and Yatsuhashi for him to appear right behind them, they quickly notice this and tries to attack with a punch from each only for him to grab them and move them to switch places before delivering a flurry of kicks on both.
"Oh my, he's really good." Summer amazed.
"Yes, but something tells me he didn't get those moves from any combat school before Haven." Cammy crossed her arms.
"(I don't know why, but there is something about that boy reminding me of someone I met years ago.)" Cammy thought felt something familiar about Mercury's face reminding her of a man.
"Come on, Coco." Velvet clutched her hands together, hoping for her friends to win this fight.
Mercury was about to let Yatsuhashi go to kick Coco again, but that plan was cancelled when the big guy grabs his arm and pulls him away.
But that didn't matter because a rope of chain came out of the forest area wrapping around Coco's waist and suddenly pulling her away from the fight.
"Coco!" Yatsuhashi shocked worry.
Coco is being pulled right into the forest area where some have no doubt that Emerald was in that forest area and was the one doing the chain pulling.
"Looks like we know where Emerald has been hiding now." Ruby said.
"Making things 'leafy' for Coco." Yang punned again, making the other groan from that.
Yatsuhashi gets attacked by Mercury with a kick to the face but endures it, and was about to jump for another attack only for Yatsuhashi to grab him between the neck and shoulder.
"Time for you to get some more taste of muscle power." Yatsuhashi glared.
"…Seriously?" Mercury asked, mocking the big guy with a grin.
But that only seem to make Yatsuhashi a little angrier as he slams the gray hair boy hard on the ground making some cracks around them, and then threw Mercury over to the hot spring area as he crashes onto a big rock and slide further down a little.
"Even though it hurts, what he said was still funny." Mercury chuckled with a little.
Mercury's eyes widen to see Yatsuhasi is now high in the air and coming down like a human missile with his sword swings down at his foe.
"Crap." Mercury muttered to himself.
Mercury quickly brought up his legs to stop the sword from crushing him, the impact causes a shockwave throughout the whole hot spring area causing the water to fly back, the earth to crack underneath, and multiple geysers to form around them.
"Looks like you don't skip leg day." Yatsuhashi commented while trying to push his sword down further.
"Only to look good at kicking your ass." Mercury smirked before he fired a shot from his boot to knock the sword off.
Mercury goes in to kick the tall fella down except he jumps over to Mercury's behind to swing his sword at him, but Mercury was able to dodge that and some more slashes from Yatsuhashi and one attack loosen a few stones which Mercury uses one to kick it right onto his face.
But Yatsuhashi is unfazed by the stone attack and swings his sword to get one attack cross the chest making him stumble back a little.
"Oh! Mercury better be careful with his Aura level being close to the red zone." Oobleck commented.
Mercury is surprised to hear that and turns around and looks up at the jumbo screen to see his Aura level is close to the red zone, thinking back on those hard attacks that Yatsuhashi managed to land on him did damage him more than he expected.
"(Now he's mine!)" Yatsuhashi thought charged at Mercury.
But Mercury saw that charge coming and kick him hard on the legs and head to knock him down, but Yatsuhashi was able to grab him and pull him in close though they both fell onto the ground.
Before both of them could get back up, their heads are very close to a small super-heated geyser that erupted on both fighters causing them to scream in pain and quickly get back up.
"Okay, now you got me all steamed up." Mercury glared.
"Pretty sure the geyser already did that." Yatsuhashi pointed out.
(With Coco)
Coco is dragged further into the forest area until the chain makes her crash into a tree and fall onto the ground. She gets up and sees that her signature sunglasses are shattered, and that sets her anger to go up.
"I take it back; I don't like her." Coco declared that girl is her enemy now.
Almost an instant, Coco saw an incoming green bullet aimed for her head and she narrowly dodges that with a few backflips and Emerald on a tree branch shooting down at the fashion girl, Coco quickly got her machine gun and return fire at the green hair girl.
Emerald goes jumping from tree branch to tree branch even changing her weapons to chained-sickle mode to swing around the forest to avoid Coco's bullets, but then she suddenly vanished when going behind one tree.
"Damn…" Coco cursed, this girl is going to be a problem.
"Coco." Yatsuhashi called out as he walks up to her.
"Watch out, she's in the trees!" Coco warned.
"Oh, and with that final blow on both each, Yatsuhashi and Mercury is eliminated!" Port announced.
"What?!" Coco shocked as she looks up seeing a replay of Yatsuhashi and Mercury down on the ground and unconscious. Then looks back to see the Yatsuhashi she saw wasn't there anymore.
Coco can feel her hands shaking in fear almost like she's now dealing with something more than she can handle, but she can't back down from this fight and tries to search for Emerald.
However, Emerald was already behind her and comes in with a slash that ended the fight and then Coco is sent flying at the center of the ring in defeat.
(Music End)
"And with an amazing upset, Emerald takes victory as the last one standing!" Oobleck announced and the crowd goes wild.
"Coco." Velvet said looking sad and Sun is a bit puzzled on how Coco lost her focus like that.
Gouken who was watching the fight from the top of the audience seat and staircase notice something off as well, stroking his bread in curiosity about Mercury and Emerald.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
The fight was crazy and a bit different than in the anime one like how I made Yatsuhashi being a bit better and ending the fight between himself and Mercury in a tie, and it looks like Mercury and Emerald are being suspected by a few experience Hunters and one wise Gouken.
