Chapter 10

Author Note: Hey everyone I'm back with another chapter for all of you. Now as anyone who has seen the show will realize upon reading this chapter I will be skipping/summarizing Episode 5 of Season 2 given how it is all basically a super-long flashback with montage elements focusing on Ben's time away from the group.

That being the case I figured I would skip it so as to not make a boring chapter. With that being said in case anyone was wondering, Episode 5's events still took place as they did in the episode.

Now with that little info dump outta the way, who else saw the full trailer for Jurassic World Chaos Theory that just dropped today (April 30th 2024). I have to be honest I was already excited for the new season but after seeing the trailer…HOLY SHIT! I mean it looks like we could be getting a season that rivals if not surpasses Season 3 with how Dark/Dangerous it gets. Not to mention the first like 10-15 seconds of the trailer and what is implied to have happened…Like damn if it actually is how it looks then this season is going to be crazy.

To be honest I am kinda 50/50 on the whole event. Part of me wants them to stick to it and have it actually be how it's implied as it makes things darker. Yet the other half of me wouldn't be opposed to a big twist later on revealing how it isn't as it was shown/implied.

Oh and one final thing before the start of the chapter…I freaking LOVE the aged up designs for the characters…Minus Kenji's godawful hairstyle…But hey it's Kenji what can ya expect lol. Anyway with that outta the way let's continue shall we.

(May 24th 2024 ) Oh and one more little thing I watched Season 1 of Chaos Theory today and HOLY SHIT was it good. Definitely darker and more mature than Camp Cretaceous . Freaking loved every minute of all 10 episodes. There were so many insanely good moments, shocking moments, gut punches, and holy shit that Season Finale was crazy with what's being set up and what was revealed. One thing that really surprised me was the inclusion of Flashbacks which honestly were amazingly well done with how they deepened certain things. Needless to say I am insanely hyped for Season 2 and hope they follow the format of Camp Cretaceous to where we could potentially see Season 2 as early as September or as late as December…Really hope it's the former if not even earlier.

The trio of campers blinked owlishly with shocked looks on their faces at the sight of Ben standing before them clearly alive. From what they could tell given the teen's appearance despite being alive he clearly didn't have an easy time surviving on his own. His blue jacket was gone leaving only his white t-shirt covering his chest. Though the shirt had seen better days given how dirty it was coupled with how there were several tears in it along with the sleeves having been torn off to make it a tank-top. Ben was still wearing his brown shorts though they were heavily stained with dirt and mud. The boy was also sporting a makeshift blue bandana headband clearly made from what was once his jacket, not to mention how he was covered in dirt and mud.

Tossing to the ground the tree branch that he had used as a makeshift club to render Hap unconscious Ben nervously looks at the others while Bumpy lets out a bellow "So uh" he starts to say before sheepishly grin "Hey" the teen adds awkwardly not sure exactly what to say.

However before he can say anything else Kenji rushes over and gives him a hug causing Ben's eyes to widen at the action before he returns the hug. After a moment the asian teen lets go of Ben "How?" he asks in a near whisper wanting to know the details of Ben's survival. At that moment Brooklynn rushes over and gives Ben a quick hug of her own before letting go as well.

"It's a heck of a story to say the least" Ben says and is about to start relaying his tale of survival alone in the dinosaur-filled jungle of Isla Nublar only to be interrupted by the sounds of Hap groaning from where he lay on the ground. "But we should probably deal with that first" he remarks, figuring they should restrain the man before he wakes up.

"I'm on it" Naruto replied as he grabbed some vines from a nearby tree to use as bindings for the man.

(10 Minutes later)

"Alright so where do I begin? I mean it's quite the story let me tell you" Ben says to his fellow teens as they stand in front of the bound form of Hap.

"Hate to be that guy Ben but we're gonna need the quick summary version as if my hunch is right time is likely a factor right now" Naruto says suddenly interrupting the brown haired teen before eyeing Hap's form outta the corner of his eye "Isn't that right 'Mr Guide'" he adds addressing the man whose eyes open showing that he had regained consciousness at some point but was faking still being out.

"You're right about that kid" Hap remarks before raising an eyebrow at how he was bound with the vines "Are these windsor knots? How do you kids know how to tie people up?" the man asks as it was rather odd for a group of teens to know how to restrain someone using rope.

"Survival training from a Navy veteran in my case, though I wasn't the one that tied you up that would be pinkie here" Naruto remarks answering the man's question before thumbing in the direction of Brooklynn who huffed a bit at the nickname.

"Well I wasn't going to let you tie him up in Shibari!" The teen girl counters while throwing her arms up in exasperation.

"...How the hell do you know about Shibari?" Hap asks with a raised eyebrow look on his face.

"Let's just say I came across some books that I really could have gone without seeing and leave it at that" Naruto remarks with a deadpan look on his face and a slight shudder at the memory of what he found in a certain person's room.

Unknown to the blonde, Ben, being confused at the whole exchange, leans over to Kenji and whispers "What's Shibari?" only to get a shrug from the teen who didn't know what it was either.

Hap just shakes his head at all of this "We don't have time for all of this, you kids need to untie me and trust me!" he says suddenly causing Naruto to raise an eyebrow "I'm trying to save your lives" he adds, narrowing his eyes a bit.

"Yeah right" Ben suddenly remarks, narrowing his eyes at the man while grabbing the shock rod he had been carrying off the ground and pointing it at him while activating the weapon. As electricity crackles between the two prongs of the rod the teen snarls "I heard you conspiring with that fancy couple" he remarks with a glare.

The man just stares down at the teen holding the weapon with a disinterested look in his eyes "Put that thing down before you get yourself hurt" he remarks with a stern tone.

"Someone is getting hurt old man but it's not going to be me" Ben challenges approaching the man slightly with the stun rod getting an amused chuckle from Hap.

"Zap him Ben!" Kenji cheers in support of the action given how they were just chased down by the man and he was seemingly a threat to them.

"With Pleasure!" Ben says with a wicked grin on his face as he readies the stun rod to zap the man.

"Bring it!" Hap challenges bracing himself for the hit, almost welcoming the attack.

"ENOUGH!" Naruto suddenly yells as he and Brooklynn get between Hap and Ben trying to diffuse the volatile situation before it blows up in their faces.

"Naruto's right, lower the weapon Ben" Brooklynn says to the teen who frowns before shutting off the shock rod.

"You're protecting this guy? Whose side are you guys on?" Ben questions the two with a narrowed look at their defending of Hap.

"How about the side of not electrocuting a human being, Ben!" Brooklynn counters in defense of their actions.

"Yeah especially one that's tied up and defenseless as I'm not into torturing someone"Naruto remarks with a shake of his head at the idea. Okay on second thought MAYBE he would be acceptable with torturing someone so long as there was a justified reason behind it and the person was a real piece of shit. However in this situation yeah no way he was going to torture or let Ben torture Hap given how of the three adults Hap was the only one that didn't give him a very bad feeling in his gut.

Speaking of the man he chose that moment to speak up again "Like I said before we don't have time for this! You and your friends are in danger and I'm trying to save your lives!" he states with the remark causing the eyes of Brooklynn, Kenji, and Ben to widen slightly at how serious the man's tone is. Naruto however narrows his eyes and grits his teeth as it didn't take a genius to realize just what the danger Hap was referring to was…and the worst part about it was that Yaz, Sammy, and Darius were all unknowingly smack dab in the middle of it.

(Mitch and Tiff's Camp)

Back at the camp Mitch and Tiff were in the middle of packing up several things that they would need. Mitch was looking through a duffle bag as Tiff carried a couple cardboard boxes full of stuff "Did you pack the camo net like I asked you to, babe?" he asks, pawing through the bag.

Hearing the question Tiff rolls her eyes and forces a smile "I already told you I did babe" she says through grit teeth suppressing her annoyance and anger at her husband.

Hearing this Mitch oblivious to his wife's suppressed anger continues his remark "Well it's just sometimes you forget, like that time with the-" only to be interrupted.

"Night Vision Goggles…It was two years ago, let it go babe" Tiff remarks, cutting him off before rolling her eyes and walking off with a flippant wave of her hand causing Mitch to narrow his eyes at her.

"Uh what's going on?" Darius suddenly asks from where he, Sammy, and Yaz are off to the side by the picnic furniture. Hearing this Mitch turns in the direction of the kids before Darius continues "Do we really need all this gear to go look for the others?" he asks thinking that the married couple might be overdoing it with how much they are packing.

Mitch and Tiff share a look before the latter rolls her eyes and walks off "Well um we just wanna be prepared for anything we might encounter along the way D. I mean it's a dinosaur-filled jungle after all. Besides, the boat will be here in three days, you all wanna be rescued in one piece right?" he says as he walks past them towards some more gear.

Hearing the man's statement Yaz raises an eyebrow in suspicion "You said the boat would be here in two days" she questions the man as despite being a slightly understandable mixup it was also a rather big red flag to her based on what Naruto had told her about the married couple.

Hearing this Mitch winces slightly at his mistake though the kids don't see it given how he has his back to them. "Right two to three days, right babe?" he says quickly trying to cover his slipup.

"Hundred percent babe Mmm-hmm" was Tiff's very quick reply as she walked over with another bag of gear. The speed at which the woman replied set off another red flag for the couple in Yaz's head. "Now babe go grab that 'stuff' we need from Hap's yurt kay?" she says to Mitch who begins walking towards said yurt.

"Um…" Sammy suddenly says, causing the married couple to look her way "I thought Hap said no one was allowed in his yurt?" She questions not wanting to be a bother to the two but a little confused by how they could go in Hap's tent given what he said.

Tiff grits her teeth at the girl's questioning before forcing a smile as she walks over to her and takes a seat next to her on the chair "Alright, why don't you guys have some chocolate? It's even imported from France." she says pulling out a chocolate bar and placing her hand on Sammy's shoulder which causes her to be a bit nervous. "Also why don't you guys go enjoy it over there?'' she says, nudging the girl towards the other side of camp while Darius and Yaz get up to follow Sammy. As the kids walk off Tiff resumes going about packing various gear.

Upon reaching Sammy with Darius by her side Yaz gains a narrowed look "Okay so I can't be the only one who that was weird right?" she whispers to the two.

"What do you mean?" Darius asks with a questioning look not understanding what the girl was talking about.

"Really Darius?" Yaz remarks with a look of disbelief on her face at the boy not understanding what she clearly was referring to. "How does someone forget about what day their boat, the only way they have off of 'Killer Dino Island' comes back from refueling?" she clarifies as in such a situation it was unheard of to do that.

Sammy looks back and forth between Yaz and Darius for a moment before nervously chiming in "They are also being kinda shady with all the stuff they're packing" she says as the amount of stuff they were packing was a bit ridiculous.

Darius just shakes his head at the absurdity he was hearing "You're both just as paranoid as Brooklynn" the boy remarks with a shake of his head. The trio then notice Mitch and TIff exiting Hap's yurt with a couple boxes and duffle bags in their arms. Upon seeing the kids staring at them the married couple give a seemingly nervous wave at the trio. In response the kids just nervously wave back before the married couple turn their backs on them once more. Noting how Sammy and Yaz are now staring at him expectantly Darius sighs in defeat "Fine, I'll prove you both wrong. You two distract Mitch and Tiff and I will sneak into the yurt to look for anything 'suspicious'" he says to them relenting to their prodding so as to put the whole issue behind them.

As the married couple were going through several duffle bags they had packed Sammy suddenly ran up to them "Hey Tiff, what's in that!? Ooh what's in that one" she says suddenly and excitedly pointing to each bag and trying to look into them as Tiff tries to stop her.

Mitch meanwhile had started walking away and only shakes his head at the girl's antics when he suddenly stops in place finding Yaz in front of him "Um…Favorite color, favorite food, favorite color of food?" she fires off quickly questioning the man using the same series of questions Sammy had on her weeks ago. Needless to say the man is left rather confused by the sudden questioning and questions in general.

Seeing his chance given how the married couple were clearly distracted Darius sneaks into Hap's yurt. However instead of finding anything of note it initially just looks like a normal yurt "Real suspicious" the boy remarks with a scoff as he picks up and sets down a coffee cup. Walking over to one of the tables in the yurt Darius's eyes widen slightly at seeing several large hunting knives laid out on it next to a rather large machete. On the floor next to the table is a chain leading into another section of the yurt behind a curtain that catches the teen's interest so he decides to go investigate that next. Upon entering the closed off section of the yurt Darius sees that chain connects to a very large steel bear trap causing his eyes to widen. Looking around the rest of the area he spots several crates, some more machetes, a fire ax, a crossbow with a scope on it, and most ominously of all a large object with a cloth tarp over it.

Cautiously and nervously the boy tiptoes over to the large object and tentatively reaches out to grab the tarp and remove it from the object. Immediately after doing so the boy lets out a shriek of terror and nearly vomits as staring him dead in the eyes is the severed head of a Sinoceratops. Darius starts gasping for breath at the sight as the realization of what he just discovered sinks in and what it means for the group.

However as he makes to get up and rush out to warn Sammy and Yaz the curtain to the area is opened causing him to gasp as standing in the doorway is none other than Mitch. The man had an eerily calm yet almost disappointed look on his face that unnerved Darius greatly "What are you doing in here D?" he asks, blocking the only exit to the yurt.

Darius gets to his feet and stares down the man with a scowl on his face "You're not Eco-Tourists you're-" he begins to say.

"Big game hunters, yeah" Mitch remarks, cutting the teen off before walking into the yurt and over to the table holding the knives and picks one up. "I was kinda afraid that blonde friend of yours might have picked up on our slip ups" he adds idly toying with the knife in his hand.

"He did, though I wanted to believe he was wrong" Darius states with a scowl as he truly had hoped that just this once Naruto had been wrong. That Mitch shared his love and fascination of dinosaurs in such a similar way to how Darius's own father had.

"Huh go figure, kids got a good head on his shoulders. Though honestly can't say I'm surprised given he is Masrani's kid and all" Mitch remarks causing Darius's eyes to widen that the man knew who Naruto was. Seeing this the man just chuckles "Oh come on Darius it's not that shocking that I know Naruto is Masrani's kid. I mean to be honest we knew who all of you were the moment we saw you. Afterall you're all famous and all over the news. Hell they are calling you the 'Nublar Seven' and for weeks news outlets have been airing segments about your 'Tragic Deaths' during the fall of Jurassic World" he explains with a chuckle as honestly he found it kind of hilarious that he and Tiff of all people would be the ones to find the kids, alive no less.

Darius was utterly floored by this information. While it wasn't surprising to hear that he along with the others have been talked about post evacuation of the island, it was a shock to learn that they had been written off as dead. It made him question if anyone had received the EDB signal they activated. Then there was the whole thought of what his mother not to mention his brother Brad must be going through.

However the teen was snapped out of his thoughts by Mitch speaking again "Honestly though Darius, I'm glad you have seen all this" he says surprising the teen. The poacher then turns to face him while toying with the knife with a dark look on his face "Afterall friends shouldn't lie to each other" he adds.

Darius nervously takes a step back from the armed man at this "But you said you got our distress beacon?" he questions wondering if everything the man had said was a lie.

"Oh yeah no. Honestly we had no idea what you were talking about, but we obviously didn't want you asking any questions so well y'know" Mitch replies with giving a bit of a shrug. He then smiles before setting down the knife and taking a step towards the teen "But hey it all ended up working out." he adds before reaching into a box next to the table and pulling out a deactivated tablet. "We bought this ACU table off the black market" he says tossing the item to Darius with the teen catching it "It was supposed to help us track the dinosaurs since they're all chipped but…" he says trailing off while gesturing to Darius to activate the table.

Tapping the screen Darius turns on the table only for a big red image signifying no wi-fi connection to pop up on it "The grid's down" he realizes at what the signal meant though honestly wasn't surprised that it was.

"Yep, talk about a waste of $100,000" Mitch states with a frown as the tablet didn't come cheap to say the least. Though considering how rich the married couple was, the amount wasn't anything substantial but still a pain. "Also despite Hap coming highly recommended, he's been pretty useless at finding dinosaurs" the man continues as he fiddles with a crossbow for a moment before setting it down and taking a step towards Darius. "He also doesn't know even HALF the stuff about them or the island that you do. So now you can help us" Mitch remarks with a wide grin as he affectionately ruffles Darius' hair while walking past him.

Darius shudders a bit at the man's touch finding it appalling "How could you possibly think I would help you kill dinosaurs? I thought you cared about them!" the teen fires back appalled by the very idea.

"That's just it Darius I DO care about them" Mitch counters causing Darius's eyes to widen a bit "I mean I have been waiting my whole life for this. Living, breathing, dinosaurs up close and personal? It's a once in a lifetime experience." the man says passionately before looking over to the severed Sinoceratops head. "But Isla Nublar is under UN Quarantine now. The dinosaurs have been abandoned and forgotten, destined to fade from everyone's memories" he says almost sounding genuinely sad. "We're the last people to ever see them D. That is why I am trying to preserve the memory of Jurassic World" he adds before turning around to face Darius again.

"By mounting their heads on your wall!?" Darius fires back in appallment by the man's remarks.

"Don't you get it!" Mitch suddenly snaps angrily at the teen, his face twisting his fury "Thanks to us these magnificent creatures will live forever!"he shouts at Darius. However upon seeing the look of revulsion on the teen's face Mitch just sighs "I must admit I am deeply disappointed Darius. I really thought that we understood each other, but I'll make this easy for you" he adds before grabbing the teen by the shoulder suddenly and forcing him out of the yurt.

Upon exiting the yurt the boy's eyes widen in horror as Sammy and Yaz are standing in front of it with nervous and frightful looks on their faces. Mainly due to the fact that behind them stood Tiff with a smug almost twisted grin on her face and a shock rod in hand.

"See Darius…Help us bag the dinosaurs we want, and we'll take you and your friends home." Mitch says stating how things could go. "However if you don't we'll leave you all here, abandoned and forgotten just like the dinos. So Darius…What's it gonna be?" he asks with a slight grin as Sammy gasps nervously and Darius gains a horrified conflicted look on his face.

(Naruto, Brooklynn, Kenji, Ben, Hap)

"Alright what do you mean you're trying to save our lives?" Naruto asks as while he figured the man was referring to saving them from Mitch and Tiff he wanted to know details.

However Hap seemed to be distracted by the vines tying him up "Where did you learn how to tie Windsor Knots?" he asks looking at Brooklynn given how she was apparently the one who tied him up.

Though instead of getting an answer from the girl she just narrowed her eyes "Hey! We;re the ones asking the questions here" she says deflecting the question and asserting that they were the ones in control of the situation not him.

"Yeah, the wild boy has a dinosaur and he's not afraid to use her!" Kenji taunts while pointing to Ben who was still holding the shock rod at the ready. Hap in response says nothing as he looks over to the side where Bumpy is casually eating some ferns before looking back at the kids with a deadpan look on his face. Seeing this Naruto just sighs and facepalms as the dinosaur definitely wasn't much of a 'Fear Factor' at the moment.

"I got this" Ben suddenly says before walking up to Hap and staring the man down who just gives the teen an uninterested look. "You think you're tough? You don't know the meaning of tough" he says before pointing to a healing wound on his left bicep "See that? Leech bite" the teen says as if it's a proud battle wound.

Naruto just facepalms once more upon hearing this. He had thought Ben was going to show off some big indication of bravery or something but no, it's a freaking LEECH BITE of all things. The blonde's annoyance level grows even more when he hears Kenji gasp as if the wound was badass.

Hap just stares at the teen for a moment before holding up his right arm to show a large faded scar in the shape of a mouth over most of his forearm "Gator Bite" the man states earning another gasp from Kenji at the badassery.

"Pteranodon mauling" Naruto suddenly says, pointing to the fresh pinkish scarring running down the right side of his face from said incident back during the monorail attack. The blonde figured if they were going to start showing off battle scars he might as well get in on it…though to his irritation Kenji apparently didn't feel the need to gasp at his showing off for some reason. Hap however seemed mildly impressed by the wound.

"Sunburned for three days straight!" Ben continues dramatically holding up three of his fingers.

"Buried for a week in an avalanche!" Hap counters while raising his voice a bit.

"Fell into a massive pile of dinosaur shit!" Naruto suddenly says causing everyone to look at him in disbelief "Yeah don't ask it was NOT fun…also fell into a underground nest of inbred venomous Troodons…Yeah probably should have gone with that one first" he says in response before sighing as he really messed up showing off there.

"Chased off a pack of Compies!" Ben suddenly yells at Hap.

"Wrestled a pack of wolves!" Hap counters yelling as well.

"Was pounced on by a Velociraptor!" Naruto then yells while lighting up his shirt and turning a bit to show his back that had six faded raptor claw mark scars on it. Granted that was when he was younger and one of the raptors got a little too playful making it a total accident but the others didn't need to know that fact.

Ben opens his mouth to yell another of his feats only for Brooklynn to cut him off "Punched a hammerhead shark in Hawaii! Yes we're all impressive now can we continue with the larger issue at hand here?" the girl yells silencing everyone.

"...I'm really wealthy" Kenji chimes in awkwardly after a moment only to quiet back down when he notices the looks everyone is sending him.

"Right so getting back on track how exactly does chasing us through the jungle save our lives?" Brooklynn says with a sigh from Kenji's remark as she turns her attention back to Hap.

"Not to mention how we heard you tell Mitch and Tiff you were going to 'Take Care' of us" Naruto remarks while crossing his arms over his chest.

"I'm trying to by getting you home" Hap says, causing the eyes of Brooklyn and Kenji to widen, Ben to still have a skeptical look on his face, and Naruto to raise an eyebrow in interest. Seeing this Hap sighs "Look I'm no angel. I've done a lot of stuff I'm not proud of in my life. But when Mitch and Tiff said they were going to leave you all here to die…well I had to do something" he says to the group.

"Really?" Brooklynn remarks with a skeptical look on her face that is shared by Kenji and Ben. Naruto however is rubbing his chin in thought as he looks the bound man straight in the eyes.

"Look what's important to me is getting you kids home" Hap says with a sigh trying to make the kids believe him.

"Yeah right, let's just tie him to a tree and be done with him" Ben remarks with a scoff, not buying a single bit of what the man is saying.

Hap frowns hearing this before looking towards Brooklynn and Naruto "We have a boat moored at the northwest dock" he reveals causing the pink-haired girl and Kenji to gasp while Naruto's eyes widen a bit. Ben however just rolls his eyes at the man's words.

"There's a way off the island," Kenji remarks, almost in a daze at the possibility.

"But the three of you said it was refueling" Brooklynn questions sounding hopeful yet apprehensive of the possibility.

"We lied" Hap reveals as he lowers his head in shame at having lied to the kids about the boat in the first place.

"Well now that's really supposed to make us believe you now" Brooklynn remarks with a scoff at the man.

"LISTEN!" Hap suddenly snaps causing them all minus Naruto to jump a bit at the outburst "I scouted out some kind of garage near here when we first landed. We can take a vehicle, get to the dock, and prove I'm telling the truth." he says to them causing the group to think for a moment and look amongst themselves "Please…" Hap suddenly says turning their attention back to him "...Believe me and let me do the right thing" the man adds in a pleading tone of voice.

The group of teens look at the man for a moment before taking a few steps away to discuss things "He's lying, I can literally smell it on him" Ben says with a determined look on his face to the others.

"But if what he's saying is true then Darius, Sammy, and Yaz are in big trouble" Kenji rebukes with a shake of his head as that was also a big possibility they had to factor in.

Hearing this Ben just scoffs "You know what kept me alive out in the jungle City Boy" the teen says earning a raised eyebrow from Kenji at the 'City Boy' term. "My instincts, and right now my instincts are saying 'Don't Trust Hap'. I vote we leave him here and go after our friends"

"I don't know maybe we should go after our friends but take him with us" Brooklynn says, voicing her own opinion on the matter at hand before thinking of something "Naruto is he telling the truth? Is there a garage or something around here?" she asks the teen knowing he has the most knowledge about the island when it comes to 'off the beaten path' areas.

The blonde in question rubs his chin in thought as he thinks things over. If Hap was telling the truth then the situation they found themselves in was bad to say the least. Three of their own in the hands of a most likely very dangerous couple. However the man could very well be lying to them. Yet despite this Naruto's gut instinct had been telling him that of three adults Hap meant them the less him if any, whereas he got a very cautious feeling about the married couple. Then there was the whole issue regarding the garage Hap mentioned. Naruto felt like he might be telling the truth as he vaguely remembered one being somewhere in this area but he could very well be misremembering. All in all it was a pretty shitty situation no matter how you cut it in his mind so he just had to make a decision and hope it was the best…or at the very least didn't get any of their group hurt.

"Alright, here's what we're going to do," Naruto says to his fellow teens. "We're going to save our friends…but first we're going to have Hap lead us to this garage he is talking about" the blonde says before pausing for a moment. However he notices the others about to say something and cuts them off "This way we know whether or not he is telling the truth. In the event he isn't we leave him where he says this garage is or use him as dino bait and go save the others. However if he is telling the truth then we use whatever vehicles the garage may contain to go save the others and then race to the northwest dock to take their boat and get off the island" he says finishing the explanation of the plan.

"But what about Mitch and Tiff?" Brooklynn questions how the married couple would factor into the plan.

"We either knock out and subdue them before taking them with us on the boat…or we use 'other' methods to render them not a threat to anything" Naruto says, narrowing his eyes with a serious look on his face causing the others to look shocked.

"Wait, you mean?" Kenji asks before not voicing the rest of his question and just gulping.

"Yeah we 'dispose' of them be it by our hands or feed them to a dinosaur" Naruto says with a hard tone "They came here to HUNT dinosaurs meaning they are prepared to do so and likely have a gun or guns in their possession in which to do so. That means that if we were to just leave them on the island they could and likely would hunt down every dinosaur on the island…I'm not going to let that happen even if it means I have to remove them as a threat via my own hands" he states to the others somewhat surprising them by his declaration. While the blonde would honestly prefer not to kill the two or anyone for that matter. He wasn't going to just let them do as they please and kill the dinosaurs. In his mind the dinosaurs were as much his father's legacy as he was and he wasn't going to let the married couple or anyone destroy that.

With the decision made the quartet walked back over to Hap "Alright so here's how things are going to go" Naruto says to the man "We are going to save our friends, and we're taking you with us as you're going to lead us to this garage first" he adds.

Hearing this Hap just nods "Then get these things off of me and let's go" the man says holding his bound arms out towards them.

"Not so fast" Brooklynn remarks, suddenly getting a questioning look from the man.

Several minutes later the group were making their way through the jungle once again though this time Hap was following behind them…or more like being pulled behind them given the man now also had a vine leash connected to the vines binding his wrists together.

The man was looking over the knots around his wrists with a calculating and scrutinizing look on his face before looking up ahead to Brooklynn who had the other end of the vine leash in her hand "She definitely knows how to tie a knot" the man says complimenting her on the job she had done.

Hearing this said girl just rolls her eyes and Naruto just shrugs as Ben walks up next to the two "I'm telling you, he's leading us into a trap" he remarks sending a glare Hap's way. Hearing Ben once again say this to them in the several minutes it had been since they started walking caused the two to just sigh.

Behind them Kenji looks over to Hap with an almost pleading look on his face "Dude, please don't let Ben be right about you. I can't start listening to the dude who eats bugs" the asian teen begs the man as they both watch Ben pull a large grub worm off of a palm leaf and slurp it down whole. The sight of which causes Kenji to shudder in disgust.

Ben walks alongside Bumpy as the two start walking a bit ahead the group "This way, bumpy…allegedly" he remarks caressing the top of the ankylosaurus's armored head and turning back to give Hap a glare.

Seeing this Kenji sighs "And now he's talking to his dinosaur…great" the asian teen remarks before picking up his pace of walking passing by Brooklynn and Naruto.

As the group continues to walk in silence now for a bit longer Hap looks at the backs of Brooklynn and Naruto "Hey uh…Did you really punch a shark?" he asks the girl all of a sudden.

"It was more of a flailing panicked punch…but yeah I did" Brooklynn admits with a shrug as she gives the man a glance over her shoulder.

Hearing this the man's eyes widen a bit before he gains a small grin on his face "Nice" he remarks giving the girl a nod of respect. He then turns to look at Naruto "And you really into a nest of venomous dinosaurs?" the man asks the blonde.

"Yeah and I barely made it out alive" Naruto remarks as he had to be honest he got very lucky in the whole disaster. If it wasn't for his finding Muldoon's shotgun the blonde doubted he would have survived.

Hearing this Hap just gives the blonde a nod of respect much like he had Brooklynn. After a moment he suddenly speaks up again "The two of you and I-" he begins to say before lurching forward as Brooklynn gives the vine leas a harsh tug.

The girl turns to give the man a glare "Just so we're clear Hap, we're not friends and I don't trust you" she says to him making it clear that he hasn't earned their trust yet.

Naruto eyes the man as his expression becomes downcast and he looks down in shame "I wouldn't trust me either" Hap says in admittance as he thinks about all the horrible things he had done in his life. The man then looks up with a determined look in his eyes "But you can and I'm going to prove it to you" he says with a tone of honesty that causes Brooklynn's eyes to widen a bit and Naruto to raise an eyebrow.

The duo were snapped out of their thoughts regarding Hap's honest sounding words by Kenji suddenly gasping loudly "Guys look!" he calls out from the edge of the jungle pushing some ferns aside to show a clearing in which there was a large warehouse -like building with a closed front entrance.

"Believe me now?" Hap asks the blonde and pink haired teens given the building in front of them proving his earlier words.

Ben just rolls his eyes upon hearing this "An empty garage in the middle of nowhere proves nothing" he remarks with a deadpan look on his face not impressed in the slightest.

"Maybe the vehicles are inside Ben" Kenji remarks with a raised eyebrow directed at the teen who was clearly just annoyed that he might have been proven wrong about Hap.

However as the group exited the jungle and entered the clearing in which the garage was situated in Bumpy started to act restless. The herbivore began bellowing and shifting back and forth in place refusing to get closer to the building. Seeing Bumpy's distress Ben quickly rushes over to her "Shh shh it's alright girl" he says trying to soothe and calm her down.

Seeing this Naruto goes on alert looking towards the jungle on the opposite side of the clearing for any possible threat but is unable to see anything. Nevertheless he keeps his eyes trained on the jungle when rustling catches his ear causing him to shift his eyes to the right and briefly spot a trio of shadowy figures running through the brush. The blonde's eyes widened a bit at this right before a familiar screeching was heard "Shit other side of the building quick" he whispers to the others before the group quickly runs there.

Upon reaching the building and pressing themselves up against the side of it Naruto subtly peeks around the corner looking back into the clearing they were moments before only to see something that was far from good "Shit, it's Grim, Chaos, and Limbo" he whispers to the others as the three Baryonyx come screeching and snarling into the clearing. His reveal that the three deadly dinosaurs were just on the other side of the building obviously not being the sort of news the others wanted to hear.

(Darius, Sammy, Yasmina, Mitch, Tiff)

The three kids were walking through the jungle in silence, the married couple behind them, and Darius at the lead reluctantly guiding the group to the watering hole. All the while the teen was trying to think of a way to stop the married couple from killing the dinosaurs and ensure the campers got off the island safely.

However the teen was broken out of his thoughts when he feels a hand on his shoulder and turns to see Mitch was the owner of said hand and now walking next to him "I know it wasn't easy, but you made the right choice Thanks to you we will be done and no time and as a result you kids will be home in no time as well" the man says with a wide grin on his face.

However upon hearing a groan from Tiff, Mitch looked back at her with a raised eyebrow "We better be…Dammit!...I told you I never wanted kids!" The woman remarks irritably as she swats at a swarm of insects buzzing around her, likely a result of the perfume she had chosen to wear. "Now we have three of them and oh, no guide!" Tiff complains still heavily swatting at the bugs flying around her.

Seeing this Mitch just rolls his eyes with a slight grin on his face before adjusting the strap over his left shoulder that is connected to a large thin case dangling at his side. "We don't need Hap as we have Darius, and he is leading us too…" the man remarks, leaving his sentence unfinished so the teen could.

"The watering hole" was the unenthused answer from Darius as he frowned heavily and clenched his fists in frustration.

"That's right! A one-stop dino-hunting super-shop extravaganza!" Mitch remarks excitedly at the prospect of all the dinosaurs he is going to get to hunt. "I tell ya babe this kid is something. Didn't I tell ya this kid is something?" he adds looking back at his wife.

As the man turns back around Sammy suddenly coughs into her fist catching Yaz's attention. The rancher seeing she has Yaz's attention subtly motions her head down in the direction of the track star's injured leg. Yaz seeing this raises an eyebrow in confusion as she tries to think of what Sammy could mean by the action before it dawns on her. Sending a subtle nod of understanding back, Yaz suddenly lets out a gasp of pain before collapsing to the ground with a similar look of pain on her face. The outburst causing the whole group to stop walking and turn to her.

"What?" Tiff asks uncaringly upon seeing the girl suddenly collapse in front of her.

"My ankle hurts, I need a break" Yaz remarks through a pained tone to sell her injury, acting up to the married couple.

"Just for a little bit, she can't keep going at this fast a pace" Sammy remarks looking up at Tiff as she kneels down next to Yaz as if to check her injured leg.

The woman just sighs at this "Fine, it's exhausting keeping these bugs away anyway" she remarks, still swatting at all the bugs swarming her. Seeing this Mitch rolls his eyes once more before going over to help the woman swat at the flies "Ugh why are they only attacking me!?" Tiff laments still batting away the bugs.

While the married couple dealt with bugs Darius, Yaz, and Sammy took this chance to sit down next to a fallen tree "We can't just go along with this. We have to do something" Yaz whispers to Darius with a slight glare.

"We only have two choices. Help them and get back to our families, or don't and stay trapped here" Darius whispers back with a shake of his head not seeing any other actions they could take at the moment.

"What about Naruto?" Sammy whispers thinking that maybe their blonde leader would be able to do something when they regrouped with the others.

Darius thought over the girl's words for a moment before shaking his head "Naruto's strong but Mitch and Tiff have guns!" the boy whispers harshly as while he figured the blonde could easily take down the two adults, their weapons greatly leveraged the odds in their favor.

"Well then what's 'Option D'" Sammy asks as if Naruto was 'Option C' and that wouldn't work due to Mitch and Tiff having guns, then she wanted to know what their next available action was.

"There is no 'Option D'!" The dino loving teen harshly whispers with a shake of his head. "Look as bad it is we might just have to go along with Mitch and Tiff as they are our best bet at getting off the island" he remarks with a heavy sigh hating even saying the words. Darius knew that Naruto would likely hate the plan as well given his views of the dinosaurs. But he felt as though the blonde might agree with him as it meant the safety of the group.

However before any of the teens could say anything else Mitch walked over and placed his hand on Darius's shoulder "Shh" the man stated quietly with a smile as the sound of leaves rustling could be heard "Babe, you hear that?" the man asks his wife while staring out at the jungle with an excited look on his face.

(Naruto, Brooklynn, Kenji, Ben, Hap)

Naruto peeked around the corner of the garage watching as the trio of Baryonyx screeched and snarl while hanging around the front of the building. So far the group had been lucky in that the deadly carnivores hadn't detected them yet but the blonde had a feeling it was likely only a matter of time at this point. "This is bad" Brooklynn whispers in fear, summing up the situation they found themselves in.

"No it's worse than bad" was the response whispered back by the blonde given how the group were essentially out in the open. Running through potential scenarios in his head he figured that should it come to a fight the odds MIGHT be in their favor. Personally he could take down a lone Baryonyx the issue was there were three of them and they clearly hunted as and were a pack based on the veterinary camp incident from a couple weeks ago. Though the group also had Ben, Bumpy, and Hap as potential fighters. The way Naruto figured it their best chance at survival and escape was if he along with Hap, Ben, and Bumpy got the jump on the trio of carnivores, surprising and hopefully scaring them away due to superior numbers.

However as luck would have it just as he looked away from the Baryonyx's, to tell the others his plan Bumpy seemingly chose that moment to start bellowing and groaning in alarm before Ben tried calming her down.

Quickly peeking an eye around the corner of the garage Naruto hoped the carnivores hadn't heard the distressing noises of Bumpy. "...Shit" was the whisper that slipped from his lips as he spotted all three of them staring in his direction though thankfully not seeing him. Seeing this Naruto silently gestured for the rest of the group to start backing away along the side of the building very slowly

As the group does so Kenji notices a pair of doors leading into the building. The teen begins to pull on them to no avail as they seemed to be locked by an electronic lock of some kind. However as luck would have it just as Brooklynn nears the doors a beep is heard and they suddenly open. The asian teen looks between the open doors and Brooklynn in visible confusion "How did you?" he begins to question.

"No time, get inside!" Naruto harshly whispers as everyone quickly rushes into the building and closes the doors just in time as the Baryonyx trio round the corner just as the door shuts.

Inside the darkened building Brooklynn reaches into the back pocket of her pants and pulls out the blank keycard she had found in Wu's lab and looks it over "This must be some kind of electronic keycard, but why would birthday guy have a key to this random garage" she voices aloud in thought flipping the item over in her hadn a few times.

Looking at the keycard for a moment Naruto's realizes something "That's not a normal keycard it's a master keycard" he remarks causing Brooklynn to turn his way "I thought it looked familiar but couldn't place exactly what it was given how they all usually have identification markers on them showing who they are assigned to" he adds.

"But then why would birthday guy have a master keycard, and whose is this as I doubt he was important enough to have one" the girl questions as in her mind it didn't make sense for the lab assistant to have such an important item.

"That's the thing he shouldn't have had one. Then there is the fact that this is a 'Unlocked' master keycard meaning it has been assigned to someone yet" Naruto remarks trying to think over how Eddie had gotten his hands on a master keycard let alone an unlocked one. Such a thing was unheard of as only a handful of people in the park were issued Master Keycards to begin with and all of the unlocked ones were securely hidden away and only accessible by a handful of people. "Anyway let's take a quick look around for anything that we can use, preferably a vehicle" he adds as the group begins searching through the garage.

They were seeing a number of crates and a good few metal barrels containing oil and gas which were all well and good but useless without something to put it in. However as they were doing so Brooklynn made her way over to the other side of the room where a small shed sporting an electronic lock on it was situated. "If this is a master key it should open this two right?" she says to herself bringing the keycard up to the panel.

With a beep and the light on the lock turning green the sounds of gears turning was heard. Only it wasn't the shed door opening but rather the large sliding doors that made up the main entrance to the garage.

As the doors began to open and thus creating a perfect entrance in which the trio of Baryonyx could enter, the group's eyes widened in shock "Shut the door!" Hap yelled to the girl as she repeatedly pressed the keycard against the panel in an attempt to undo her previous actions to no avail.

Looking out into the clearing Ben spotted the three Baryonyx partially back in the jungle having decided to give up the hunt only to turn their attention back in the direction of the building upon hearing the machinery. "How do we get outta here!?" the boy asks with a slight panic.

Naruto scans the interior of the now illuminated garage as a result of the doors being wide open thus letting in the rays of the setting sun "There!" he yells pointing to a pair of motorcycles one of which had a sidecar attached to it "Brooklynn, Kenji, and Hap take the one with the sidecar, I will take the other. Ben you hop on Bumpy" the teen remarks as the group rushes over to the vehicles.

Quickly grabbing the pair of helmets that happened to be sitting on a crate next to the bike Brooklynn and Kenji climb onto the bike with the pink haired girl in the front and ready to drive as Hap gets into the side car. Naruto climbs onto the motorcycle next to them and quickly turns it on causing the bike to roar to life.

As Brooklynn does the same with her bike she suddenly freezes upon seeing the three dinosaurs charging towards the building "Wait we are going to need some kind of distraction to get past them" she says in realization.

Ben quickly looks around the garage and spots the oil and gas barrels "I have an idea" the boy remarks before running over to the barrels and tipping one over creating a trail of gas leading towards the entrance of the garage. Ben then proceeds to hop on Bumpy and the dinosaur accompanied by two motorcycles and passengers start racing out towards the exit. Just as the group nears the exit Ben turns on the shock rod in his hands and uses it to ignite the tail of gasoline.

The flaming trail of gasoline quickly reaches the barrel from which the gasoline was leaking resulting in a large explosion just as the group exits the garage. The force of the explosion's shockwave nearly knocks them off their rides or mount in Ben's case. As an added effect the shockwave knocks the three Baryonyx down and briefly disorients them.

Racing past the dazed dinosaurs who were quickly getting back to their feet as the group headed away from the danger as fast as they could. However they had failed to anticipate just how quickly the Baryonyx trio would regain their senses as the three began chasing after them screeching and snarling.

Looking back over his shoulder at the group of hungry dinosaurs in pursuit Naruto curses "Split up! We will try to separate them and meet back up later!" he yells to the others getting nods. As Ben guides Bumpy off to the right and towards the jungle, Naruto proceeds to gun the throttle on his motorcycle and speed off to the right leaving Kenji, Brooklyn, and Hap to take the middle.

However unknown to Naruto and and Ben their efforts to split up the pack were for not as Hap noticed upon looking "No good we still have all three!" He yells to Kenji and Brooklynn as they see the trio of dinos still following after them.

"Remember the good old days when we only tick off one dinosaur at a time!" Kenji complains with a frightened look on his face.

"Hang on, we'll lose them in the tall grass!" Brooklynn yells back as she sees a field of tall grass coming up right in front of them. The girl guns the throttle as Kenji narrowly avoids the snapping jaws of Grim and the group enters the tall grass.

Only to quickly find themselves in a wide open field littered with large boulders much to their shock. Looking around Kenji notices the lack of tall grass "SERIOUSLY CAN WE CATCH A BREAK!" the teen screams in disbelief.

"Look out!" Hap suddenly yells to Brooklynn causing her to look back in front of them only to let out a shriek as they almost collide with a large rock. The girl yells in fight as she narrowly avoids rock after rock swerving around them as all the while the Baryonyx still pursue. "That's the clutch! Brake with your foot!" the man yells to her upon seeing her trying to brake using the lever on the handle bars.

Heeding the man's advice the girl slams on the brakes and whips the motorcycle around a large boulder as they continue to flee. Keeping an eye on the Baryonyx Kenji's jaw drops in fright "They can't do that…since when can they do that!" the teen utters in horror, catching the attention of the others as they turn to see the Baryonyx now running and hopping from rock to rock.

Chaos begins to close on the motorcycle, its jaws inches from clamping down on Kenji only for the dinosaur to flinch back courtesy of a kick to the snout. The man then looks to Brooklynn seeing her increase the speed of the bike even more yet it proved ineffective as the dinosaurs were still gaining and keeping pace with them. Seeing Kenji cowering against the girl's back he formulated a plan "Untie me! I can help!" he calls out to the two.

Giving the dinosaurs behind them a quick look and noticing how Chaos has started closing again nearly side-by-side with them Brooklynn makes a choice "Do it Kenji!" she yells swerving to the left to avoid the dinosaur sinking its teeth into her arm.

Not needing to be told twice Kenji quickly unties the man right before Hap stands up in the sidecar grabbing the shock rod in Brooklynn's lab "Try to keep it steady!" he yells before turning the rod on and jabbing it into the mouth of Grim causing the dinosaur to flinch back. The man then thrusts the shock rod in front of Brooklynn's face and into the side of Limbo's head fending off the dinosaur before it could sink its teeth into the girl. Whipping the rod around he then proceeds to smack Chaos in the side of its head causing it to fall back a bit as well rejoining the other two.

On and on this repetition of strikes and falling back went for several minutes with no ground being made by dinosaur nor man. "This thing isn't fast enough! There's no way we're gonna make it!" Brooklynn states in fear stricken realization at the situation.

Hearing this Hap's eyes widen before he looks between the kids and back to the man-eating dinosaurs pursuing them. Gritting his teeth the man stands up in the sidecar "Not all of us" he says getting the attention of the two teens who look to see him holding the shock rod pointed towards them "You kids…Live a good long life!" the man yells before slamming the rod down to the connecting bolt holding the sidecar to the motorcycle. With a cry of exertion and a shocked look from Brooklynn the man separates the car from the motorcycle, sending himself and it flipping across the ground. Hap comes to a stop and right himself into his feet in one fluid motion shock rod at the ready as the three Baryonyx stop right in front of him.

"Hap!" Brooklynn yells in disbelief at what she just witnessed the man do. Looking back she sees Grim start to run past the man in pursuit of them only to be stopped via a smack to the head with the shock rod.

"HEY! Hap yells at the carnivore getting between the departing motorcycle and bloodthirsty animal "The party's over here!" he yells shock rod at the ready as he reaches down to his left leg and grabs the machete holstered in a sheath brandishing both weapons.

Brooklynn and Kenji stare back at the man as they ride away in stunned horror at what he has done…for them. "Hap…he's" Kenji begins to say at a loss for words.

"He's taking care of us…just like he said he would" was Brooklynn's sorrowful response as she blinks away some tears and focuses on making the most of Hap's selflessness in getting them to safety.

(With Hap)

The man stared down the three Baryonyx with no fear in his eyes. He knew what was going to happen and was completely fine with it. If his actions led to the kids getting away safely then any outcome of his current situation was fine in his mind. Keeping his eyes trained on the dinosaurs as they started to encircle him the man readied himself for the fight to come.

Chaos was the first to attack, snapping at the man from the right only to be met with the business end of the shock rod causing it to flinch back. Following Chaos was Limbo from the left, the dinosaur aiming to sink its teeth into the man's left arm. Reacting in the blink of an eye Hap pulled his arm back and lashed out with a slash from his machete only for it to meet air as the dinosaur pulled it's head back as well. Grim was next lunging at the man from the front forcing him to jump back and retaliate with a swing from the shock rod only for the dinosaur to leap back as well avoiding the weapon.

Over and over this repeated with each of the Baryonyx seemingly taking a turn attacking the man and him retaliating only to miss each time or land a glancing blow with the shock rod. Yet with each attack and evade they grew closer and closer to their goal as Hap grew more and more exhausted. Breathing heavy with sweat dripping from his brow Hap knew what they were doing 'Heh clever beasties' he thinks to himself in some form of respect to his adversaries.

The man knew he only had roughly another attack or two in him and he was content with that. He had bought the kids precious time to escape and he was ready. Preparing to lunge out at Chaos the man suddenly halted upon hearing a noise. But it wasn't just any noise it was the all too familiar sound of a motorcycle engine causing a pit of dread to form in his stomach. "No…they wouldn't be so stupid" he thinks to himself in disbelief.

However, looking out past the trio of Baryonyx he spots the familiar light of a motorcycle headlight rapidly approaching "HAP!" He hears a voice call recognizing it as Naruto's the teen having apparently realized he wasn't being chased and came back to help.

As the blonde got closer and closer Hap's mind went into overdrive thinking of all the ways this could play out yet three were most prominent. The Baryonyx could turn from him and swarm the teen as he got close. Naruto could reach the man and the two could start escaping only for the three dinosaurs to chase after them resulting in them being right back at square one. Or the man could choose the third option.

His choice made the man acts, lunging at Chaos with the shock rod only to miss as the dinosaur dodges the strike easily, before retaliating by sinking its teeth deep into the man's arm and ripping it off in a shower of blood. A blood curdling scream ripped its way through the man's throat as he tightened his grip on the machete. "HAP HOLD ON!" Naruto yells seeing this and increases the speed of his motorcycle.

"Kid take it and…Good Luck!" Hap yells tossing the machete high into the air just as the three Baryonyx pounce on him and begin ripping him apart in a gorey display of ripping flesh, breaking bone, and flying blood. Yet despite the carnage the man went down fighting, punching and kicking at them for as long as he had legs and an arm. His last thoughts not being of regrets but of contentment 'Finally did something good in my life, good luck kids' were the last thoughts to cross his mind as his vision was filled with the open maw of Chaos before everything went dark.

Seeing the man's brave and grisly death, Naruto lets out a roar of rage that echoes far and wide across the island. Twisting the throttle of the bike fully back the blonde increases his speed even more before pulling back on the handlebars forcing the motorcycle into a wheelie. Though instead of slamming into the feasting trio of Baryonyx he angles the bike towards the rock next to them and launches himself and the bike into the air. Reaching out with his left hand he snatches the machete by the handle as gravity takes hold and he lands the bike before speeding off. As the sun finally sets behind him Naruto doesn't dare to look back at the sight of Hap's sacrifice. Not out of disrespect for the heroic man but out of determination to ensure his sacrifice wasn't wasted. For the blonde feared if he were to look back his rage would engulf him forcing him to turn around and charge the man's three killer's with the sole intention of mindlessly butchering them even if it cost him his own life. Such an action though would be a disservice to Hap's sacrifice so instead Naruto just focused straight ahead. On regrouping with the others, on rescuing Sammy, Darius, and Yaz from Mitch and Tiff, on surviving to honor the memory of the brave man who gave up everything to try and insure it.

The group was still in the same spot before with the married couple looking around for the source behind the heavy footsteps that had been growing louder and louder for the last fifteen or so minutes. Though the couple was not just idly looking for the source of the footsteps as they had just set down the cases that each of them were carrying and opened them to pull out the contents within. Darius's eyes widened in horror as said contents of the cases were a pair of high-powered hunting rifles. The teen watched as Mitch pulled his rifle up and looked down through the scope before the man gasped and a smile formed on his face. For a second Darius wondered what the man saw but then he saw it as well "Oh no" the teen whispers in horror.

The animal in question was a lone Stegosaurus that upon coming into the clearing lets out a lazy bellow before it begins feasting on some of the vegetation surrounding it. "It's perfect look at those plates" Tiff says with a grin, already imagining the various ways she could use or display the animal's iconic features.

"She's beautiful isn't she babe?" Mitch remarks in awe of the animal's beauty "Though just be sure to stay clear of its thagomizer" the man adds with a grin confusing his wife. Seeing her confusion he just shakes his head "The pointy spikes on its tail ain't that right D?" he remarks giving Darius a side-glance and wink.

Hearing this TIff just rolls her eyes "Whatever just take the damn shot before it gets away!" the woman whispers harshly in annoyance.

Giving his wife an annoyed look Mitch pats Darius on the shoulder "Don't worry it won't feel a thing" he says before raising his gun and aiming at the dinosaur. The man steads his breathing and sights on the animal waiting for just the right moment. All the while Darius and the others can't help but watch in horror. A thousand thoughts fly through the dino loving teen's head as he watches Mitch slowly move his trigger finger towards the trigger. However just as the man is about to fire Darius makes a choice and whistles loudly.

The sudden noise shatters the poacher's concentration causing him to flinch upwards as he fires completely missing the Stegosaurus and instead hitting a branch that falls to the ground. However before the married couple can wheel around on the kids in fury a loud bellowing is heard diverting everyone's attention to the Stegosaurus who is now not only aware of them…but also quite enraged.

With another loud bellow the stegosaurus charges the group forces everyone to dodge out of the way for their lives, the married couple one way the kids the other. Landing on the ground Mitch and Tiff make to get up only to drop back down and shield themselves from debris kicked up by the herbivore swinging its death-dealing tail.

As the married couple get to their feet Mitch glares at the three teens huddled together on the opposite side of the herbivore "YOU!" he yells in fury at the action Darius had taken in denying him his kill. However the man's fury was quickly replaced by fear as he had to jump to the side to avoid being crushed by his attempted prey's tail.

Seeing their chance Darius, Sammy, and Yaz make a break for it only to duck and dodge the rampaging herbivore as it briefly gives chase to them stomping furiously all the while. The trio jump to the side to avoid the grasping hands of an enraged Tiff as they continue to make their mad dash away from the married couple, and deeper into the jungle. They run as fast as their legs can carry them and just when they think they might have lost the married couple one of the gun cases said couple had been carrying comes flying through the air and collides with Sammy knocking her to the ground.

Seeing this Yaz rushes over to try and aid the downed girl only for Tiff to grab her from behind holding her in place. Darius makes an attempt to help Yaz only for Mitch to grab him. "Get off of me!" the teen yells as the man starts dragging him towards the others and his wife. Though thinking quickly Darius opens his field guide book and pulls something out of it before crumpling it up and hiding it in his hand.

"I told you they were trouble!" Tiff angrily yells at her husband as he finishes dragging Darius towards them. The woman meanwhile tightening her grip on the struggling trackstar.

"Not the time babe!" Mitch fires back in clear annoyance as he roughly shoves Darius in between himself and Tiff. However this is ultimately a mistake as Darius choses this moment to act.

The teen quickly shoves Tiff sending the woman to the ground and freeing Yaz from her grip. Then just as Darius is grabbed by Mitch he manages to pass off the crumpled bit of paper in his hand to her. The action confuses Yaz for a moment as she looks at the paper then sees Darius break free from the grip of Mitch before turning around and grabbing him in an attempt to hold him in place "GO!" the teen yells to her.

Not needing to be told twice the track star makes a break for it only to make it a handful of steps before she is pulled to the ground by Tiff "You little bitch!" The woman yells in fury before being tackled by Sammy and as a result losing her grip on the runner.

"Go Yaz!" Sammy yells to the girl as she wrestles with Tiff trying though ultimately failing to keep the woman pinned to the ground. Once more Yaz gets to her feet and runs away, soon disappearing into the darkness of the jungle and out of sight.

Within moments after the girl disappears from sight Sammy is overpowered by Tiff and then dragged to her feet before being thrown to the ground over by Mitch and Darius. Mitch then proceeds to angrily shove Darius to the ground next to the girl upon prying the teen's grip from him. "I trusted you Darius, and you betrayed me" Mitch says his tone and face a mix of rage with a hint of sadness from the betrayal. "You had a simple choice, and for whatever reason you chose to save dinosaurs over your friends" he adds with a shake of his head.

Darius adopts a firm determined look on his face as he stares the man down and shakes his head "No I didn't, I just chose 'Option D'" the teen says in defiance.

"The hell is that supposed to mean?" Mitch asks with a confused look and shake of his head.

"It doesn't matter" Tiff says butting in as she yanks the shock rod they had brought with them in addition to their guns out of her husband's hands. "He's still going to take us to the watering hole. Because now I'M in charge" she says with a sadistic gleam in her eyes and a sick grin on her face as she thumbs the switch on the rod causing it to crackle to life with electricity. The sight of the weapon combined with the look in the woman's eyes terrifying the two teens.

(Yaz)

The teen ran and ran through the jungle as fast as she could, briefly taking note that her makeshift splint had broken away. Though feeling no pain and concluding her leg was healed she pushed on. She had no idea where she was running at the moment, only that she needed to put distance between herself and the married couple before she did anything else. However as she runs over a hill the girl nearly is hit by a fast moving bright light accompanied by an engine before it swerves outta the way and comes to a stop.

"Yaz!" Naruto yells, hopping off the motorcycle and running over to her only for the girl to meet him halfway and wrap her arms around him in a hug which he quickly returns. For a moment the two just stand there in each other's arms before Naruto pulls her to the side to avoid being hit by another bright light that skids to a stop revealing Brooklynn and Kenji.

"Yaz! Naruto!" the teen girl says as she and Kenji rush over to their two friends. Brooklynn then notices the machete near Naruto's feet, the teen having dropped it when he hugged Yaz "...Hap?" she asks though already knowing the answer which is only confirmed. The girl takes a moment for the man's death to finally sink in before burying it down knowing this wasn't the time for mourning. "Guys it's Mitch and Tiff they…" she begins to say only to be interrupted.

"Tiff and Mitch have them," Yaz says, shocking the other three teens. "Darius is leading them to the watering hole so they can kill all the dinosaurs there" she adds, breathing a bit heavily from all the running and shocking the others further.

"What?" Naruto asks in disbelief that Darius of all people would willingly aid in, let alone lead the married couple to a spot they could kill dinosaurs.

"Darius would never do that" Keni manages to say despite his own state of disbelief.

Naruto then looks down and notices the crumpled piece of paper in her hand "Yaz what's that?" he asks, pointing towards the paper.

The girl's eyes widened in remembrance of the paper Darius had given her so she quickly uncrumpled it revealing a park map of the island with the Main Street location circled "You right he's leading them to…" she says leaving her sentence unfinished so as to not state the obvious.

"Sonuvabitch" Naruto curses realizing just what the teen's plan was, and how dangerous if not suicidal the damn thing was to say the least.

All was calm in the once center of Jurassic World. Yet despite the lack of noise it was not vacated as echoing throughout the area were the thundering steps of Rexy as she entered her paddock returning from another hunt.

End Chapter 10

End Author Note: Well there is Chapter 10 everyone and I hope you enjoyed it. I have to say this chapter was a blast to write as it covers one of my favorite episodes in the entire show.

Haps death while sudden is still a gut punch and I really hope I portrayed it well while also expanding on it. To be honest despite the man only being around a couple of episodes in the show he just had this presence about him that was enthralling. He came off as someone who had clearly done a lot of stuff he wasn't proud of…even stated as much. Yet despite all this he clearly cared about the campers despite only knowing them a short while and sacrificed his life without a second thought.

Anyway not much else to say other than be sure to Favorite, Follow, and Review.
