Chapter 11
Author Note: Hey everyone I'm back yet again with another chapter for this story. Now before I get into the actual meat of the Author Note I would like to say that I have come to a decision…For the time being THIS story is going to be my MAIN FOCUS for a while, in regards to what I work on.
The reasoning behind my decision is that this story is incredibly enjoyable for me to work on to the point I have a blast writing it and each chapter comes naturally instead of having to force myself to write like some other stories.
Now this does NOT mean I won't be working on my other stories. I will still be working on them but my focus and most of my writing will be for this story. That being said though I will also be spending a near equal amount of time on two other stories…Vulpine Sinner…and one other story which is a pseudo new one…details will be explained in the first chapter of it.
Anyway with that out of the way I want to reiterate once again that Favorite a story is the most reliable way to be alerted to it being updated as is using the Fanfiction App.
Well with that said I am going to take a moment to answer a few reviews…
.5: Yeah I honestly toyed with the idea of saving Hap but ultimately felt that his sacrifice was too meaningful to wipe away.
MichaelMyers1234: Yes all pairings are locked in and I have had them locked in since before I started writing. Some have yet to actually be seen starting to form though unless you look really close.
Samuel Santillan: I haven't touched on it specifically but no Naruto just like the rest of the "Nublar 7" is believed to be dead. Now there might be some like Dave and Roxie who have hope the kids are still alive but even they know it's unlikely.
Anyway that's it for answering reviews this time around but I would like to say thank you to everyone who reviewed. (Mitch, Tiff, Darius, Sammy)
The group of four consisting of two adults and their teenage captives trudged their way through the darkened jungle. Mitch kept his rifle at the ready and was regularly scanning the jungle for any potential threats while also occasionally adjusting the strap over his left shoulder. Said strap was connected to the married couple's rifle case. Tiff meanwhile kept her glaring look trained on the backs of Darius and Sammy while occasionally running her thumb over the activation button of the shock rod in her grasp.
The two teens however mainly kept their attention focused in front of them only turning their gaze back occasionally to look over their shoulders in fear at the married couple. It was during one said look back that the pair caught the attention of Mitch and the man glared at them causing the two to face forward with a frightened gasp. Sammy in addition to gasping gingerly touched a blackened part of her shirt near her side, her pants sporting several marks resembling it as well.
Seeing this Mitch's expression softened a fraction "Look babe" he says softly to his wife getting her attention "All I'm going to say is you could have handled that better back there" the man remarks.
"Excuse me?" Tiff remarks with a scoff at her husband's words.
"Now don't get mad" Mitch quickly replies not wanting to set the woman off. The man also proceeds to slide the rifle in his hands into the weapon case he was carrying, an act that didn't go unnoticed by Sammy who had sneakily looked back over her shoulder upon hearing the married couple start to go at it.
"Don't get mad?" Tiff snaps back at her husband "Oh right because I'm not allowed to have my own thoughts and feelings? Newsflash Mitch, my actions provided results! So what if I had to zap the little bitch, it caused the brat to finally start leading us to the watering hole!" the woman rants, waving her shock prod around as she does before the married couple devolve into an argument.
Hearing her words causes Darius to flinch as they were true. He had refused to lead them to the watering hole even after Yaz had escaped with his plan. And as a result Sammy had paid the price. Tiff had tortured her with the shock prod right before his eyes forcing him to listen to the girl's pained screams before he finally relented. Yet even now the boy wasn't leading the hunters to their desired destination and he had to wonder what they might do if his plan didn't work.
"Okay, so step one is to take their guns away…What do we do after that?" Sammy suddenly whispers to the dino-loving teen, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"We run" Darius whispers back as there wasn't much else to his plan other than that if he was being honest. The whole plan as it were was essentially relying on Yaz reaching the others and them coming up with a plan to aid his plan. In hindsight the teen probably should have thought of a better plan.
Sammy's eyes widen in slight shock as she hears the rest of what they were going to do "But what if Rexy shows up?" she asks as the queen of the island was a potential 9-ton monkey wrench of painful death to the plan.
"...Run faster?" Darius remarks after a moment as he hadn't thought that far ahead regarding the T-rex.
The Texan opens her mouth to whisper a response only to be cut off by Tiff's loud proclamation of "Oh so it's my fault that the athletic brat got away!? Because it was MY idea to bring these damned kids along? Oh just like it was MY idea to spend our last anniversary with our families. You KNOW your mother hates me" the woman rants off angrily.
"She doesn't HATE you she just wonders when you're going to give her a grandchild" Mitch remarks with a tired sigh having gone over that specific point many times with his mother.
"Excuse me!? We have talked about this Mitchell and BOTH of us don't want kids. Besides, even if that wasn't the case, it's YOU who would be the reason why-"Tiff says with a scathing look in her eyes only to be interrupted.
"HEY! How much farther to the watering hole?" Mitch quickly yells at the two teens cutting his wife off so as to not have his own…shortcomings…aired out in the open. The man then takes note of how the two teens seemed to be whispering amongst themselves "And what are you two whispering about?" he asks conspiratorially
"I was um…just saying it's right through here" Darius says quickly thinking of an excuse which lucky for him the two hunters seemed to buy given their expressions brightening up. As the teen continued leading the group for a few more minutes they walked through some tall ferns before coming out on the side of Main Street.
The sight before them which was clearly and noticeably NOT the watering hole causes the married couple to scowl in anger. As they stared out at the deserted street littered with overturned tables and chairs Mitch grit his teeth "This isn't the watering hole. Does this look like the watering hole babe?" he says as any sympathy that had formed within him after Tiff tortured Sammy was erased.
"Sure doesn't babe" Tiff remarks through her own clenched teeth as her thumb hovers over the activation switch of the shock prod in her hands.
(Naruto, Yaz, Brooklynn, Kenji)
"This doesn't make sense why would Darius lead Mitch and Tiff to Main Street?" Brooklyn remarks in confusion as the four stare down at the map. However before any more could be said the sound of heavy footsteps were heard as Bumpy lumbered out from the bushy vegetation of the forest.
The sudden appearance of the dinosaur resulted in Yaz letting out a startled yelp before she realized just WHO it was, and WHO was riding atop the large herbivore. Sliding down off his companion Ben had a small smile on his face "Hey" the boy states in greeting before noticing how Yaz is just staring at him in shock. Clearing his throat Ben extends a hand out to her for a handshake "Yasmina" he remarks before being surprised as she rushes over and hugs the teen much to his surprise. "You're a hugger now Fadoula?" Ben jokes given how the girl wasn't one for such actions last he saw her.
Letting go of the returned fellow camper Yaz looks at him with a small smile "Still have mixed feelings on it for the most part" she admits before shaking her head "But given the situation and…just how are you alive?" she asks wanting to know how he had survived.
"It's quite the story to say the least. After I-" Ben begins to say only to be interrupted.
"Ben just like last time, we don't have time for you to tell us how you survived. But I promise after we save Darius and Sammy, as well as stop Mitch and Tiff, you can tell us all about your survival okay?" Naruto says once more preventing the boy from telling his tale.
Ben opens his mouth to say something before realizing that the blonde was right and sighing in defeat…he really wanted to tell the others how he survived and even defeated Toro.
"Naruto's right, Darius isn't leading Mitch and Tiff to the watering hole. He is leading them straight to Main Street" Brooklynn says, walking over to show Ben the map.
Looking down at said object Ben furrows his brow in confusion "That doesn't make any sense why would he take them straight to the ?" he asks as the logic of said action just wasn't adding up in his mind.
Kenji's eyes suddenly widened as he came to a realization "Home Court advantage!" he remarks suddenly causing the others to look at him. "Darius and Sammy know the terrain, Mitch and Tiff don't. It will be easier to lose them in the mess that is Main Street than out in the jungle where the two could easily track them" he says to the group explaining his realization.
"It does make sense and should they run into Rexy it's likely that Mitch and TIff would do something to provoke her and thus focusing her attention on them. In turn it would allow Darius and Sammy to escape while also potentially dealing with the issue of the married couple all in one stroke" Naruto remarks cupping his chin in thought as he mulls over what else could be going on in Darius's mind.
"Or at the very least allow them to take Mitch and Tiff's guns away" Yaz chimes in, adding on to the blonde's thinking.
Hearing the revelation that his speculation that the two were in fact armed with firearms was spot on, Naruto turns his attention to the track star "You've seen their guns?" he asks the girl.
"Yeah, they have at least one rifle that Mitch was going to shoot a Stegosaurus with if Darius hadn't distracted him. They carry it around in a case that Mitch slings over his shoulder" Yaz remarks with a nod and explaining just how she had come to see the weapon.
Hearing this Naruto cups his chin in thought. Based on what Yaz said it meant that Mitch and Tiff had one if not two rifles given the carrying case. The question that lingered though was what kind of rifle "What did the rifle look like?" he asked her probing for more information in hopes of determining just what it was.
Blinking a bit at the question Yaz thinks back on the gun "It looked like a normal rifle that you see hunters use. Maybe a small bit bigger, and it had a scope on the top" she remarks describing what she could think of about it.
Hearing this Naruto speculates the married couple were likely using a standard high-powered hunting rifle like one would use to take down a rhino or elephant. This was both a positive and a negative for the campers. The positive was that Mitch and Tiff were only using a normal rifle instead something more deadly like a .50 Cal, or something like the custom made Einhorn 20mm that he had heard was used back in the 2001 incident that he read about. However the negative meant that as a result of them only using a normal high-powered rifle it meant they were skilled enough with said weapon to drop a dinosaur in a single well placed shot. That in and of itself was no easy feat given the strength of a dinosaur's hide, the thickness of muscles and flesh, and potentially bone depending on where the animal was hit. Ultimately this meant that Mitch and Tiff were expert marksmen at the least and able to retain said marksmanship skills even under the stressful situation of having a dinosaur charge at you.
The blonde breaks from his thoughts when he notices the others staring at him expectantly "Sorry was thinking things over. Long story short is that Pro: Mitch and Tiff likely only have a single normal gun, Con: They are skilled enough with that gun to drop a dino in one shot" he says basically summarizing to the others what he had deduced.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go help Darius, and Sammy!" Yaz remarks eager to go help their friends, even more so given what they had just learned about how deadly the married couple were.
"Yes! Bumpy and I are ready to roll!" Ben says excitedly as he tightens his grip on his homemade spear having been handed it by Bumpy who in turn had picked it up with her mouth. The herbivore seemingly being able to read the mood of the teen boy.
"Hold up there Wonder Girl, and Jungle Boyl" Kenji remarks crossing his arms over his chest and shaking his head "Big problemo in that there is no way we will be able to make it to Main Street before they do. Or in actuality fast enough to help before Darius and Sammy put their plan into action" he adds further pointing out the flaw in their goal to help the two.
"Well we have to at least try!...And this is ONE obvious shortcut" Brooklynn snaps at Kenji with a frown before holding up the map in her hand.
For a moment Naruto raises an eyebrow thinking over what she said before he just sighs "...I hate this plan already" he remarks after figuring out just what the girl was thinking. Though to be fair he had to admit it was their best choice at the moment.
Kenji it seemed had also realized what the pink haired girl was referring to "Down there!? You must be joking?" he remarks with a shake of his head. "Don't you remember what happened the last time we went down there? Not only is it super dark and creepy but we also almost died! Nope no go for Kenji!" the teen adds, crossing his arms over his head.
"It's the only way we will get to Main Street fast enough!" Brooklynn counters with a shake of her head finding the older teen's stubbornness in the situation grating on her nerves.
"Yeah besides we only almost died down there what twice? Whereas how many times have we almost died up here?...Like SEVEN times at least?" Yaz remarks mentally counting off all the times they had almost died above ground…not counting the times before the Indominus broke out however which would add by her math another say…three? Though now that she thought about it technically it would only be like one given how the others were only for some of the group not them as a whole.
Hearing this Kenji opens his mouth to rebuke her statement before realizing he couldn't and proceeds to close it and let out a long sigh of defeat.
(Underground Tunnels)
The pitch black darkness that enveloped the countless tunnels that ran the length of the island in a maze was broken by the bright light of a pair of motorcycles being trailed by an ankylosaurus. Brooklynn had a wide grin on her face as she reached around Kenji to hold on to the handlebars of their motorcycle as she led the group. Behind them was Naruto and Yaz on his motorcycle, the trackstar holding on tightly to the blonde from behind as he drove. Unknowingly to the blonde, Yaz also was sporting a small blush on her cheeks as a result of being able to feel his abs. Making up the rear of the group was Ben riding atop Bumpy.
"Woohoo! We're really doing this!" Brooklynn calls out with a cheer and a small smile on her face as the group zipped through the tunnels.
"Ugh why am I sitting in front of you cramped against the handlebars?" Kenji groans out with a frown on his face from his spot on the motorcycle. The teen was basically half leaning over the handlebars using the bike's headlight as a handhold to prevent himself from falling off.
"You thought it was demeaning to quote 'Ride Bitch' and weren't confident enough in your driving skills to be the one to drive the motorcycle. Also you need to be in front to direct us on where to go!" Naruto calls out with a grin on his face. The blonde's remark draws snickers from the rest of the campers minus Kenji who just groans in annoyance.
For the next several minutes the group continues to speed through the tunnels turning left or right when needed based on Kenji's direction. After one such turn in which Brooklynn cut the corner a bit tighter than she had been, the asian teen jostled in his spot a bit "Hey! Can you take these turns a little less murdery!?" he calls back in annoyance at having almost fallen off the vehicle.
"I don't know, do you think you could drive the motorcycle?" Brooklynn fires back in a snarky tone accompanied by a light glare. Kenji opens his mouth to say something only to close it in realization that she had a point. Seeing this Brooklynn has a tiny smirk on her face as the asian teen turns his attention forward once more.
"Crap! Stop stop stop stop!" Kenju suddenly calls out alarming the pink haired girl who proceeds to pull the brakes resulting in the motorcycle skidding to the side and stopping just inches from one of the large steel-barred lockdown gates they had encountered during their escape attempt a week ago.
Luckily for the two Naurto had heard the callout as well and hit the brakes on his and Yaz's motorcycle causing them to skid to a stop mere inches from their fellow campers. Not long after Bumpy comes lumbering up to the gate as well.
Hopping down from his spot atop the herbivore Ben walks over to the gate and eyes gate for a moment before smirking "Let's take this down eh Bumps?" he remarks to the dinosaur as he taps the gate with his spear. With a loud bellow Bumpy proceeds to charge at the gate before turning around and swinging her mighty clubbed tail at it. As a mighty clang resounds throughout the tunnel as a result Ben's smirk fades as he sees the gate not only still standing but completely undamaged. The teen proceeds to give the signal again as Bumpy strikes the gate once more with her tail, then again, and again, and again to no avail. Seeing the gate not budging despite all this angers Ben so he proceeds to join in the assault on the obstacle by punching and kicking it.
All the while the rest of the group just look on. Naruto had quirked an eyebrow at the display as next to him Yaz leaned against one of the large pipes lining the wall of the tunnel with a similar look on her face."Yeah, I'm pretty sure 'Wild Child' and his 'Amazing Dino' are going to be able to punch through that gate" she remarks pointedly.
"Hey maybe Bumpy just needs a little pep talk to bring it down!" Kenji states optimistically and thus getting raised looks from Brooklynn, Yaz, and Naruto. The teen then proceeds to walk over to the herbivore before kneeling down in front of her head "You're not gonna let some door stand in your way are you Bumpy?" he asks the dinosaur getting a bellow from her in response. "You break barriers, barriers don't break you!" Kenji adds trying to further encourage the ankylosaur. Though in response Bumpy just lets out another bellow and proceeds to nudge Kenji off balance with her head. All the while Ben is still kicking at the gate.
Naruto just shakes his head at the futility of the boy's actions. Brooklynn looks at the obstacle before them and how it's not budging at all and lets out a sigh "What do we do now?" she asks only to receive the continued clanging of metal as a response.
(Mitch, Tiff, Sammy, Darius)
The two campers were slowly backing away from the enraged married couple as the four entered Main Street. "Do you think this is some kind of joke?!" Tiff snarls out thumbing the activation button on the shock rod causing it to crackle to life. The sight of which caused Sammy to whimper in fear.
"It's just this way" Darius claims weakly with a nervous gulp as the two teens continue backing away.
"Don't lie to me Darius" Mitch states with a glare knowing that the kid was doing just that and having had enough of it.
Darius and Sammy continued backing away from the two until their backs collided with something. Looking over their shoulders they realized that what they had backed into was a pair of merchandise bookshelves. Sharing a look and with a cry of "NOW!" from Darius the two teens quickly proceeded to tip said shelves over towards the married couple who jumped out of the way. Though in the process Mitch dropped the rifle case which Sammy was quick to pick up as her and Darius ran away.
Regaining their bearings and seeing the direction the kids had fled Tiff lets out a frustrated yell "Dammit Mitchell they took the guns!" she rages, stamping her foot on the ground.
"Babe easy, it will be easier for us if they're alive" Mitch remarks, trying to calm his wife down so that she didn't do something they would regret as a result of her anger.
Hearing this said woman just takes a calming deep breath "Maybe you're right Mitchell…" she remarks before a sinister grin forms on her face and a murderous look is seen in her eyes "But then again maybe not" she adds with the shock prod crackling to life in her grip.
(Naruto, Yaz, Brooklyn, Kenji, Ben, Bumpy)
The group was still stuck behind the locked gate with Naruto's eye twitching slightly as Ben and Bumpy continued to pound on said gate in hopes of knocking it down. However just as the blonde opened his mouth to tell them to knock off their futile effort they did just that "It's not budging" Ben remarks as he rubs the top of the ankylosaur's armored head.
"Yeah, pretty sure we figured that out like five minutes ago" Naruto remarks in slight annoyance at having to listen to the futile pounding for so long. However right after he had said that there was a loud clang followed by a humming.
"What is that?" Yaz asks, looking around for the source of said sound thinking it might be a dinosaur, and knowing their luck if it was then it would be a carnivore.
"There it is again" Broolynn remarks at hearing the familiar humming sound that she had been searching for weeks for. The pink haired girl slowly begins walking back the way the group had come from.
"Are we really following the creepy mystery sound?" Yaz asks with a raised eyebrow figuring that it probably wouldn't be a good idea.
"Better than trying to break down a gate we have no chance of knocking down." Was Naruto's response as she gave a shrug "Besides if we're lucky we might find a way outta here to help Darius and Sammy" he adds with an optimistic outlook.
As the rest of the group begins to follow Brooklynn who was following the humming sound they stop at a four-way section in the tunnels and notice a red light near a door. Slowly making their way over to it Brooklynn puts her ear to the door "If there's electricity down here, then we might find a way to open the gate" she says before leaning back from the door. Noticing how the red light is coming from the security lock on the door she pulls out the keycard from her back pocket and uses it to unlock the door.
With a twist of the handle and a push of the door it opens and a cloud of cold air washes out from the door which leads to another tunnel. Taking a few steps into the new tunnel Ben shivers a bit at the change in temperature "Whoa it's so cold in here that you could-" he begins to say before being cut off.
"Freeze flowers" Broolynn remarks with a narrowed look on her face as the group walks down the tunnel.
"Is that a thing people say now?" Ben asks in confusion wondering if he missed something during his time alone in the jungle.
"It's a thing Brooklynn says now" Naruto remarks with a deadpan look on his face.
"Over and over again" Yaz adds with a matching deadpan look.
"For three weeks" the two say unintentionally at the same time.
Ben just stops walking for a moment and raises an eyebrow before looking back at Bumpy "We really did miss a lot" he remarks to his armored companion getting a low bellow from her in response as the two resume following the others.
(Darius and Sammy)
"The plan actually worked!" Sammy says while breathing heavily as she and Darius ran down Main Street carrying the gun case between them.
In response Darius shook his head as they ran "Not yet…We have their guns…but we still gotta lose them" he remarks panting a bit as the duo enter a section of Main Street littered with overturned tables and chairs from the various restaurants lining the street.
As they continued running the two could hear Mitch calling out to them "Kids…Darius come back! We just wanna talk!" the man is heard yelling.
"Does he really think we would believe that?" Sammy asks panting from all the running.
"No idea, but quick split up!" Darius remarks in response before the two do just that with Sammy running left and Darius running right to hide amongst the overturned furniture.
As luck would have it the two teens had done just in the nick of time as Mitch and Tiff turned the corner leading to the street and saw it empty minus the furniture. "Ugh where'd they go!?" Tiff asks in annoyance not seeing the kids.
The two adults begin slowly walking down the street intently scanning every area and piece of furniture with their eyes for any sign of the kids, not unlike how a predator would towards their prey. "Be reasonable Darius!" Mitch yells out loudly as he gives TIff a silent signal to set up a flanking formation as the two progress down the street. "You know we're hunters, right? We will find you sooner or later. It's all just a matter of time!" he adds.
Darius and Sammy pay the man's taunt no mind as they stealthily crawl amidst the cover that was the overturned furniture.
"Just give us our guns back, and we can forget this ever happened. There also won't be any more 'Accidents'!" Tiff called out before the sound of the shock prod crackling to life in her hands was heard. The sound of which caused Sammy to flinch reflexively in fear as she hid behind a table with the gun case.
As the two adults continue stalking through the scattered furniture Tiff lets out a groan of annoyance at not finding the kids yet. "There's only so long you can hide before we find you!" Mitch yelled in annoyance from his own position which was unknown to him pretty close to where Darius was hiding. Seeing this said teen sneakily crawled away further from the man as Sammy did the same on the opposite side of the scattered furniture pulling the gun case along behind her.
(Naruto, Yasmina, Brooklynn, Kenji, Ben Bumpy)
The teens plus one ankylosaurus slowly made their way down the cold secret tunnel with the lone dinosaur letting out a bleating groan likely a result of not being fond of the tunnel's climate. "It's freezing in here, why the heck are they keeping it so cold?" Yasmina remarks rubbing her arms to try and warm up as she shivers from the cold.
"I don't know, the fact this secret tunnel even has power in the first place is a mystery in itself" Naruto remarks as he narrows his eyes a bit in thought.
"What do you mean?" Ben asks in confusion, getting a nod from Kenji who shared said confusion.
"I mean that the fact this place has power while the rest of the park doesn't can only mean one of two things. The first is that this area runs off a separate power grid and supply than the rest of the park which raises more questions than it answers. Or it runs off the old geothermal plant in Mt. Sibo which also raises questions" Naruto explains as both possibilities were a stretch to say the least. The first would require an entire secret power source and grid having been built without anyone noticing. However in the case of the latter it was potentially possible and depending on how/if the secret tunnel was connected to the rest of the park's powergrid there was the possibility of rerouting power to the park itself. The thought of which opened up the possibility of calling for help instead of waiting for rescue.
"Guys the humming is coming from here!" Brooklynn calls out as she had stopped next to a locked door having heard the humming coming from behind it. Pulling out the keycard the girl used it to unlock the door before opening it and revealing a small room.
Upon entering the darkened room the group slowly began looking around taking note of the control consoles at the opposite end above which rested several monitors all of which were turned off. The sides of the room were littered with cables connected to boxes and so on.
"Oh snap this has gotta be some kind of uber secret backup power center!" Kenji calls out in excitement as he takes notice of a pair of boxes on the wall with electricity warning labels on them.
"Well whatever this place is we gotta find a way to raise that gate and get to Sammy and Darius" Brooklynn says as she takes a seat in the rolling chair in front of the computer control consoles.
"She's right everyone start looking around for a way to switch on the power!" Yaz calls out before she and Kenji rush over to the console as well and start looking over all the switches. From slightly behind them Naruto raises an eyebrow at this before he idly looks off to the side at the boxes on the wall with the electricity warning labels.
(Sammy, Darius, Mitch, Tiff)
The deadly game of cat and mouse was still underway as Darius and Sammy continued trying to evade being caught by Mitch and Tiff. Further and further it moved through the scattering of tables, chairs, umbrellas and boxes littered across Main Street. Though in his mind Darius knew at any minute the hunt could end be it from moving at the wrong time, bumping into something, or running out of stuff to hide behind. Yet despite this the two teens continued fleeing as silently and sneakily as they could. Though it would seem that their luck had run out as just at that moment Sammy turned to look behind her and as a result didn't see the box in front of her thus bumping into it. The quiet gasp she let out as a result was like a gunshot going off in the complete silence that was Main Street.
A gasp that was very clearly heard by the married couple given they turned in the exact direction it originated from. Closer and closer the pair crept their feet visible to the kids via a small gap under an overturned table. Yet as Darius and Sammy froze in place in an attempt to hide a soft screeching was heard catching the attention of the adults.
"What was that?" Mitch asked as he looked all around for the source of the noise which was very clearly a dinosaur of some kind. Though as a result of his looking around he didn't notice what was by his feet thus he nearly fell to the ground as he tripped over something on it.
Said object as it turned out was in fact the scooter that Kenji had found and toyed around with several weeks ago. With a scowl on his face Mitch kicked the ride aside before noticing Tiff's annoyed look on her face. "Nice one" the blonde woman remarked sarcastically much to his annoyance before he kicked the scooter away and they resumed their hunting.
As the two hunters resumed their search Darius and Sammy had regrouped and were hiding behind a crate. However as the two were about to sneak away a compy hopped out from behind an overturned table. Upon landing in front of the teens who let out a light gasp of shock in response, the tiny dinosaur let out a screech that was most assuredly noticed by the hunters. Darius and Sammy tried shooing away the Compy yet it remained stubborn and continued screeching at them in annoyance before snatching up a piece of pizza that was lying on the ground and running off.
Seeing their chance Darius and Sammy continued to sneak away from the two adults. Stopping at another overturned table the two teens peeked around either side of it to see where their pursuers were. From her spot Sammy could see Tiff getting close, the woman visibly annoyed given the scowl on her face and clenching grip on the shock prod. On the opposite side Darius could see Mitch's shadow getting closer and closer to them. The teen boy's mind went into overdrive as he tried to think of a way for the two to escape, and looking around he spotted something that gave him an idea. Nudging Sammy to get her attention the teen then pointed to what he saw resulting in her giving a nod as she understood what he was thinking and the two slowly got to work.
Slowly moving through the debris as they continued their search for the two hidden teens, Mitch and Tiff kept their eyes peeled for the two. However a clang drew their attention to an umbrella leaning against an overturned table a short distance from them. The two gained grins as they slowly approached the moving umbrella. As they approached Tiff noticed a pair of legs sticking out from behind the table the umbrella was resting on. "Gotcha" the woman whispered before thrusting the shock prod at the legs and activating it as she did so. However much to the confusion of the two they didn't hear the pained yell of their target.
Pulling the shock rod back and in the process knocking of the umbrella revealed to the two that the legs did not belong to Sammy or Darius…But instead a standee of Brooklynn, the same standee that the campers had found several weeks ago.
"...I guess she really is some kind of social media celebrity" Mitch remarks with a raised eyebrow at the sight of the standee, with said standee confirming the claims of the pink haired girl.
(Naruto, Yasmina, Kenji, Brooklynn, Ben, Bumpy)
"We gotta get the power on!" Yaz yells as everyone frantically looks around the room for a means to turn it on. The track star was currently in front of the vast computer console alongside Brooklynn and Ben flipping every switch and turning every knob.
"Agh! None of these are the right buttons!" Ben says in frustration as yet another switch didn't turn on the power.
"Keep looking! One of these has to be the right switch. I once helped a dutch seamstress find an actual needle in an actual haystack and I will be damned if I can't find a stupid button to turn on the power!" Brooklyn rages determinedly flipping another switch to no avail.
On the opposite side of the room Kenji was pulling at a wall panel trying to open it to see if a way to turn on the power was hidden behind it. Though the teen was making little progress given how the panel was locked up tight.
Standing behind the group watching all this was Naruto. The blonde had a deadpan look on his face as for the last couple minutes he had been trying to get the group's attention. Only for said attempts to be ignored as the others were too whipped up in a frenzy trying to find a way to turn on the power. So with a sigh Naruto walks over to the other side of a room and stops in front of a wall panel with an electrical warning sticker on it. Opening the panel reveals a green button, a red button, and a large flat grey lever. Naruto pulls the large grey lever up, slides a side lever down, and then pushes the large flat grey lever back down into place resulting in the lights and power turning on much to the shock of the others.
With the power restored the multiple computer screens come to life and the others look at Naruto "...Yeah pretty good chance that the power switch is located in something with an electrical warning label on it" he remarks with a deadpan as he thumbs towards the panel next to him with said label on it.
"Why didn't you say something sooner?" Brooklynn asks in annoyance at the time they had now wasted searching for a way to turn the power on.
Hearing this Naruto just shrugs "Tried to but you all ignored me" he remarks before walking over to stand next to them at the computer console. The blonde watches as Brooklynn and Yasmina begin flipping a bunch of switches and pressing buttons as on the screens it's shown that power is restored to various locations around the island. Said locations the blonde took note of were Dr Wu's satellite lab and the stands of the Mosasaur Lagoon. He however missed the sight of power being restored to the Raptor Paddock and Blue running past the camera of said area.
Behind the group Kenji had walked over to the power panel and was staring at the illuminated green light on it which had started flickering. Pressing the button thinking that would fix it Kenji was annoyed to see that it didn't. So he decided to begin rapidly pressing the button over and over. Unaware to the teen however, in another room located somewhere in the underground tunnels a cable came out of the wall and connected to a large tank. In another situation this would have been redundant but it just so happened that unknown to the button Kenji was rapidly pressing was connected directly to the cable. Unknown to anyone the surging of power created from the rapid button presses resulted in the cable shorting out at where it connected to the large tank releasing a hiss of cold air. Above the connection point of the tank was a large cylindrical column of ice with wisps of cold air coming off of it. Just barely visible within the column of ice is a large creature of some kind in a state of suspended animation. For a moment there is silence before a soft crack is heard coming from the ice.
Back in the secret computer room Kenji smirks triumphantly as the green light not only stops blinking but also goes out. Satisfied with his work the teen closes the panel door and walks over to the others.
Looking over the various monitors Brooklynn scans for any sign of Darius and Sammy "Now where are they" she says in question as she flips a few switches changing the feeds.
"There they are!" Yaz yells suddenly as one of the displays changes to a shot of Main Street which was now illuminated due to the power having been restored. The spotting of their fellow campers caused four of the group to let out a cheer.
However Naruto did not join in the jubilation as he spotted on another pair of monitors two things that potentially boded very badly for their fellow campers "This might have been a mistake" he remarks snapping the others out of their celebration as he points to the other two screens. One of which showed Mitch and TIff coming up behind the campers…the other a rather familiar looking tail as it passed by.
"We need to warn them! Darius Sammy behind you!" Brooklynn calls out into a microphone atop the desk only to realize her friends failed to hear the warning. Eyes wide in horror at the realization she whispers "They can't hear us".

The two campers were shocked by the sudden return of the power to main street thus potentially exposing them to the married couple. So acting fast they made a break for one of the stores to try and hide only to stop in place upon hearing "It's over!" causing them to turn and see the married couple standing directly behind them.
With a gasp the two teens slowly shuffled away from the store and to the middle of Main Street, Darius clutching tightly to the weapon case slung over his shoulder. "Don't even think about running you brats!" Tiffy growls out as she tightens her grip on the shock rod.
"Where did you think you kids were going? Did you honestly think we wouldn't be able to find you in the jungle?" Mitch questions the two teens on what they were thinking.
As the two adults slowly advance on them Sammy and Darius slowly back up passing right by the entrance to the alley leading to Rexy's paddock.
"This isn't a game kids, give us the gun…or else" Tiff growls out as she and Mitch continue to advance on the two teens.
"Not a chance" Darius counters sternly, glaring at the married couple. "We're not going to let you go and shoot the dinosaurs" he adds, tightening his grip on the gun case.
Hearing this Mitch narrows his eyes "That's not really your call now is it D? Now give me the gun before you two get hurt" he remarks threateningly. In response Darius just definitely shakes his head. "Look Darius I'm not ask-" the man begins to say before a beep is heard.
Reaching into her small pack Tiff pulls out the tablet which was now turned on and showing a map of the island with numerous red dots on it. A good number of which were congregating around a body of water further north on the island. Seeing this the hunters smirk "Whoever turned on the power, thank you!" the woman remarks as she and Mitch smile and laugh in victory.
"Sorry Darius, looks like we don't need you to show us where the watering hole is after all" Mitch remarks as he and Tiff stare at the tablet. Sammy and Darius share a worried look at this before they hear a loud thump. The sound of which causes their worried looks to shift to that of terror as they turn to look down the alley leading to Rexy's paddock, right as another loud thump is heard.

"GAH! WHERE IS THE STUPID SPEAKER BUTTON!" Brooklynn yells in frustration as the group frantically tries to figure out which button it was so as to warn their friends of the incoming danger.
(Darius, Sammy, Mitch, and Tiff)
As the sound of another loud thump echoes across Main Street, Darius hearing the ominous sound turns to Sammy with a frightened look on his face "We have to go" the teen whispers to the girl.
Mitch and TIff however were oblivious to this whispering as they stared intently at the tablet in their hands before noticing one of the red dots signifying a dinosaur rather close to them "What's that one?" Mitch asks as another thundering thump is heard.
"We have to go now!" Darius frantically whispers to Sammy before the two begin sneaking away from the two adults that were still staring intently at the tablet.
From within the alleyway leading to Main Street, Rexy steps out of her paddock and begins lumbering down towards the main thoroughfare of the park. The rex's nostrils flare as she takes in the scents nearby. Lumbering out onto Main Street she takes note of the two teens staring at her in fear before they quickly make to avoid her gaze. Rexy then looks to the left and see's the married couple who finally notice the carnivore and stare up at her in terror as the rex roars at them.
"Babe! Babe! Babe, shoot it!" Tiff says with a terrified look on her face as she stares up at the apex predator of Isla Nublar.
"With what gun Tiffany!?" Mitch asks, pointing out the fact that they were currently without their rifle at the moment.
At that moment the realization of their situation fully sunk in for the married couple and after a roar from Rexy they made an attempt to flee. With a few lumbering steps in chase Rexy snapped her jaws at them narrowly missing the married couple who split up. Seeing this Rexy chose to go after Tiff taking several snapping bites at the woman who ran for her life while accidentally dropping her shock prod. The carnivore would have sunk her teeth into the woman's flesh had it not been for Mitch coming in from the side and shocking Rexy in the side of her face with the shock prod that he had picked up from the ground.
Rearing her heading to the side while letting out a pained roar Rexy inadvertently collided with and sent a table flying which in a moment of 'Rube Goldberg' perfection landed on the weapon case which was now being carried by Sammy given she had taken it from Darius. The result bein the girl stopping suddenly in her tracks with a jerk.
"Sammy!" Darius called to her upon seeing this, a shout that unfortunately the two poachers heard as they started running towards the kids. Darius and Sammy had just managed to pull the table off the weapon case and make a break for it when Mitch reached them.
As the man grabbed the other end of the case the two teens grabbed the other end resulting in a tug of war for it just as Tiff arrived. For a split second the battle for the case continued before a roar reminded the humans that there was a very large and at this point likely very angry, T-Rex still nearby. Looking in said direction the four humans let out a scream as Rexy lunged forward with and snapped her jaws at them.
Acting fast the four human's leapt out of the way with Tiff BARELY avoiding being snatched up by the jaws. However Rexy did manage to sink her teeth around something, namely the strap to the weapons case which as a result became hooked between her teeth. Seeing this Darius and Sammy made a break for one of the nearby store entrances in a desperate attempt to flee or hide from the carnivore only to find the door locked. So instead they huddled up against the entrance with their backs to the door.
Mitch and Tiff however watched as Rexy swung her head about trying to dislodge the strap. In a moment of both stupidity and bravery Mitch reached out to grab the case and as a result began being flung through the air by the Rex's actions. He screamed in terror as he was shaken this way and that with only his grip on the case presenting him from being slammed into the ground or a flung into a building. However his grip proved useless as Rexy flung her head back sending the man and case into the air before crashing back to the ground.
The queen of Isla Nublar having successfully dislodged what was stuck in her jaws then turned her attention to Tiff. Rexy snapped at the woman several times nearly getting Tiff each time though the woman was lucky enough to dodge the attacks, if barely as she ran away from the carnivore.
Making her way over to where Mitch landed she pulled her husband to his feet and the two ran towards the rotunda-styled marble entrance to one of the gift shops lining Main Street. With a roar Rexy slammed into the rotunda wedging her head between two of the marble columns supporting the domed roof causing them to shake and marble dust to fall. However she was unable to reach her prey and angrily snapped her jaws at them.
Turning back to look at the trapped Rex, Mitch glared at it before gripping the shock prod in his hand tightly. With a predatory and savage grin on his face the man began repeatedly jabbing it at Rexy's face, shocking her over and over again.
Form their hiding spot Darius and Sammy turned away from the scene unable to watch the man essentially torture the pinned dinosaur.
Over and over Mitch jabbed Rexy with the shock prod staring her right in the eyes as he did. He watched in satisfaction as her pupils dilated before narrowing into slits showing her rage. Yet the biggest moment of satisfaction for him came from when she closed her eyes clearly in pain and readed her head up in an attempt to free herself only to smack it on the roof of the rotunda. Seeing the carnivore dazed Mitch made a break for it and ran back towards the jungle where Tiff had fled, the woman having not stopped running apparently. Reuniting with his wife the married couple continued to run into the jungle pitching as much distance between themselves and Rexy as possible.
Recovering from her dazed state Rexy struggled some more before she finally managed to snap the pillar on her left side, thus enabling her to free herself from her confinement. Looking in the direction of the jungle in which the two humans had fled she let out a roar of fury before slowly beginning to lumber back towards her nest.
From their hiding spot at the store entrance Sammy and Darius stood motionless and watching the mighty carnivore "She's blocking the way out" Sammy whispers to the dino loving teen in terror.
"We just need to remain perfectly still and wait. When she is back in her nest we will run" Darius whispers back to the girl as that was the only thing they could do at the moment. Given how the T-rex's vision is based on movement according to all the books he read, so long as they remained still they should be fine.

The group watched the screens showing Main Street nervously as Rexy slowly made her way back to her nest. "That's it big girl, be good and go back home" Brooklynn remarks with her eyes glued to the screen.
"If they remain totally still, and quiet, Darius and Sammy should be in the clear." Naruto says as he stares at the screen. The blonde had been paying very close attention to the whole incident and noticed a few things that seemed odd in his mind. Not once did Rexy attempt to go after Sammy and Darius, and instead opted to go after Mitch and Tiff. From a hunting standpoint it made no sense as predators often singled out the young, elderly, or sickly/injured as they were easier prey. The blonde did however grit his teeth tightly and clench his fists in rage as he watched Mitch torture Rexy with the shock prod. Naruto couldn't pinpoint it but there was this primal feeling in him that wanted nothing more than to rip the man limb from limb for his actions.
"So they're in the clear right?" Kenji asks while not taking his attention off the screen.
Hearing the asian teen's question snapped the blonde outta his thoughts "Yeah provided they do what I said they should be fine. The only other way Rexy would be able to notice them is if they were bleeding. Though that shouldn't be an issue given how they don't have any visible injuries" Naruto says in response to the teen's question.
Upon hearing this a collective sigh of relief was emitted from the others in the group. However after a moment Yaz's eyes flew open in alarm as she remembered something from earlier in the day that she had helped Sammy with. "Oh shit" the girl whispers in terror hoping Rexy wasn't able to pick it up.
(Main Street)
Barely breathing for fear of alerting the mighty predator, Sammy and Darius, watched as she reached the entrance to the alley that connected to her paddock only to stop in place. The sudden action confused the two teens as they watched Rexy turn her head and sniff the air several times.
"Why is she sniffing?" Darius whispers at the strange behavior.
However, next to him Sammy's eyes widen in horror as she realizes something "Oh god, she smells me!" the girl whispers in terror.
Turning his head to look at Sammy, Darius is confused by her words. However a moment later the pieces to the figurative puzzle click into place in his mind "Seriously!? Today of all days?" he whispers in shock at just what Rexy was smelling from Sammy.
"I'm sorry!" Sammy whispers back in apology, currently hating her body. Why it decided that today of all days would be a great day to have her period she didn't know given how it usually wasn't for another week by her count.
Darius hoped to any higher powers that existed that Rexy would be unable to pick up the small scent of blood from Sammy. Yet those hopes were dashed as Rexy let out a growl as she stared right at them "Oh shit" the teen curses as the carnivore lumbers toward them.
In response the two teens scoot back against the door as far as they can, narrowly avoiding the snapping jaws of the Tyrannosaurus as she wedges her head into the walled entrance. Though due to the size of her head she wasn't able to get it in fully thankfully. Yet at any moment that could change should the walls break even slightly.

"There's gotta be another way to help them!" Brooklynn yells as she, Keni, Ben, and Yasmina frantically look over every button on the control console for something to save their friends. Naruto however hadn't taken his eyes off the screen staring intently at what was taking place. More than once he noticed a time where Rexy could have sunk her jaws around Darius or Sammy's leg as it stretched out just far enough for her to reach. Yet the carnivore clearly chose not to do so based on what he was seeing.
"All I'm seeing is fence control, power to retail shops, automatic advertising loop…Hologram?!" Kenji lists rapidly as he looks over all the buttons and switches.
Hearing Kenji's listing off all the switches Naruto is snapped out of his thoughts "Quick hit all of them!" he says as the others start doing just that.
(Sammy, Darius)
Whimpering in terror at the deadly snapping jaws mere inches from them the two teens hold onto each other tightly. All they could hear was Rexy's low growls, snapping jaws, and their own frightened whimpering. However a moment later a new sound was heard: "Wednesday's are 'Kids Eat Free' days here at Jurassic World! All pastries are half off after 4:00 at Cafe Tricera-Muffin-Top, located next to the lagoon" a woman's voice is heard over speakers scattered around Main Street.
The sudden noise catches Rexy's attention and she stops snapping at the two teens and pulls her head back before looking around Main Street for the source of said voice. Not seeing said source Rexy lets out a roar before all the display lights to the shops, and restaurants start flickering on and off. The carnivore lets out another roar at the lights as behind her the top of the Visitor Center lights up sending a beam of light up into the sky before a hologram of Rexy appears on the steps leading up to it. Hearing a roar Rexy turns around and sees the hologram confusing her. Letting out a roar of her own Rexy stands her ground at what she perceives as a potential threat to her territory. In response the holographic Rex roars back triggering a back and forth between the two.
Seeing their chance given how distracted Rexy was, Sammy and Darius make a break for it and quickly run into the relative safety of the jungle as fast as they can. "Did that really happen? Did we actually just make it out alive!?" the girl asks in disbelief given how close they just came to death.
"Given how we're not currently getting an inside look at a T-rex's stomach I am guessing we did. The lights and hologram definitely weren't part of the plan though" Darius replies through panting given how much running they had been doing in a short span of time.
Panting herself Sammy shakes her head "From now on all of our plans should begin and end with one step" she says.
"Run?" Darius asks given how that's what most of their plans ultimately boil down to.
"SURVIVE!" Sammy answers with a wide eyes as that's more important.
As the two run they suddenly hear the sound of feedback from a microphone making them stop running "Testing, Testing…Party people what what!"Kenji's voice is heard saying over the microphone.
"Kenji!?" Sammy remarks in confusion at hearing their fellow campers voice on the intercom. However a moment later she and Darius grin "Where are you guys!?" she calls out to the intercom.
"Hello humans, it is I, your soon to be robot overlord. Bend over and prepare for-Dammit Kenji not the time!" Kenji is heard saying in a robot voice over the speaker before he is cut off by Naruto apparently. Hearing this Sammy and Darius can't help but deadpan at Kenji's antics.

Having pushed Kenji outta the way following Naruto's calling him out Brooklynn stood in front of the microphone. "We found a backup generator and turned the power back on" the girl says watching their friends on the screen, before seeing how Darius and Sammy are trying to say something. Though no audio was coming through "We can't hear you guys what are you trying to say?" she asks.
However upon hearing that they can't be heard Sammy and Darius started trying to act out what they were trying to convey using charades. "Oh it's a book!" Kenji calls out which got another round of deadpan looks from Sammy and Darius before they resumed acting out their message.
After a moment Naruto's eyes widen "The watering hole!" he exclaims realizing what the two are trying to convey.
The blonde's reaction sparks a realization for Yaz as well "Mitch and Tiff know where the watering hole is and are heading there!?" she adds as on the screen Sammy and Darius nod and give thumbs up.
"Which means they are going to kill the dinosaurs" Brooklynn remarks the revelation stunning the group.

The married couple look down at the tablet in Tiff's hand more specifically the the large body of water benign shown on the map with many red dots surrounding it. The two grin in excitement as their goal is within reach. Handing her husband the tablet Tiff reaches into the weapon case nad pulls out her rifle clutching it tightly with and letting out a laugh as the two continue walking towards their destination.
(Watering Hole)
Unaware of the danger heading their way numerous dinosaurs of a variety of species casually lounge around the watering hole, drinking their fill and socializing in peace.
End Chapter 11
Ending Author Note: Well that's Chapter 11 for everyone and I apologize for how long it took. This episode was an absolute bitch to turn into a chapter given how often it switches scenes, and how little actually happens between scene switches.
Anyway, the next chapter will be nowhere near as hard to write as its one I have had planned out for a while. I won't give any spoilers but I will say some VERY interesting things are going to happen…A couple very cool scenes…a realization…and chaos.
