Akari and Takeru were outside of the Mountain Plot on Waffle Island, watching their daughter, Henrietta, work in the fields and helping the animals. Her name meant, "Ruler of The Home".

She was strikingly similar to her mother.

They were on lawn chairs, basking in the Spring breeze.

Akira called out to the girl. "Rest for a bit! Drink some lemonade with us, Henrietta!"

Henrietta had just lead the animals in the barn and watered the plants when she heard her mother.

"What a good job!" said Takeru. "I knew you should complete the farmwork on your own!"

"Thanks, Mom! Dad!" she said, great fully.

But before Henrietta was born and began work on the farms, her parents almost didn't end up together.

Akira was working on one of her two farms one Spring day. She had cows, chickens, ducks, sheep, goats, silk worms, a horse and an ostrich. She lead most of the animals into the grass to eat.

She had a Hilltop Plot and a Seaside Plot.

Takeru also worked that day. He had fruit trees and several different crops and flowers, and it was Spring, so there were turnips, potatoes, cabbages, flax, strawberries, breadfruit, green herbs, hycanith flowers, lavender flowers, tulip flowers and moondrop flowers.

He had a Town Plot and Mountain Plot.

One day, Takeru and Akira were walking to each other's houses. They weren't sure which farms to go to, but that didn't stop them.

They were halfway when they found each other.

"We have a problem," said Takeru, getting right to it.

He was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and had brown hair and brown eyes and brown boots.

"Yes, we have," said Akira.

She was wearing a long green tunic and blue short and had bright brown hair and bright brown eyes and white boots.

"You have the Seaside Plot!" Takeru said in complaint. "I want to fish there!"

"Well, you have the Town Plot!" Akira also said in complaint. "I want to get to town quicker!"

"Well, we there's only one thing to set things straight," said Takeru.

"What?" Akira asked.

"Tell the town mayor!" Takeru said.

The two farmers walked to the Town Hall in silence before entering.

Hamilton, the mayor, was at the counter.

He was in blue with blue eyes, wispy gray hair and a red jewel. His shoes were brown.

"Hello!" he said. 'What are you two here for?"

"We want to renew our building permits," Takeru said.

"I deserve the Town Plot!' said Akira.

"And I deserve the Seaside Plot!" said Takeru.

"Hmm. How about you two sleep in the two plots for a while?" the mayor suggested.

"Actually, I have an idea, father," said a voice from the other room.

Then Gill, the mayor's son, walked in.

He had a blue sweater, blue plaid plants, brown shoes, a gray undershirt, blonde hair and blue eyes.

"I suggest that you two share a plot together for some time. How about a month? And it should be a neutral plot. One away from anything in particular. How about the Mountain Plot?"

"But my animals are near the Seaside Plot!" said Akira.

"And my crops are near the Town Plot!" said Takeru.

"Plus, I don't see why you two need extra plots," Gill said.

"JUST IN CASE!" the farmers yelled.

"So. What now?" Akira asked aloud.

"You'll just have to climb down the mountain to through with them." said Gill. "And if anybody catches you sleeping in your old homes. Well. Then you may stay in the inn for a month."

Both farmers stormed out.

'I cannot believe this!" Takeru said.

"I have to move all my stuff to a new house!" Akira said.

"I'm going to ask for help moving the furniture," Takeru said.

Akira held up a hand. "Let's not bother telling anyone. After all. It's all your fault,"

"You mean your fault!" Takeru said as he threw up his hands.

Akira and Takeru were busy placing their old furniture into their new, shared home.

There were all kinds of cook wear, two lamps, two TVs, two couches and two rocking chairs. Some furniture added up to doubles, of course, but they both refused to share.

They couldn't fit either of their beds into the door. So, they shared a blanket and slept on the store.

"Let me sleep in peace," said Takeru, trying to sleep immediately.

"Just try not to snore," said Akira with a yawn.

And so the two farmers found a way to sleep the rest of the night with no interruptions.

"I want to watch Elli on the weather channel!" said Akira the next morning.

"Well, I want to call, "Taylor's Seeds", on the phone!" Takeru said.

"YOU'RE TOO NOISY!" both yelled at the same time.

"Fine!" said Angela. "You call first!"

Takeru called up Taylor's seed business on the phone.

"He's not answering," Takeru said, bothered. "I'll have to journey to Soufflé Farm, myself, in that case."

Once Takeru had left, Akira got up to turn on the TV, then sat on a sofa.

"Today's weather is rain all day!" said Elli, the part-time weather woman, all in white and blue. She had brown hair, brown eyes and when off-air, brown shoes. "Be sure to put on a coat."

Akira got up in a flash.

"That guy has no coat!" she thought.

She ran outside in her own coat and after Takeru.

Takeru found Taylor kicking a ball in the air aways away from the farm he lived at. He was in blue and yellow goggles, a green circle with two red circles inside, black shorts and green shoes. He had spiky blonde hair.

"Why are you playing with that?" Takeru asked. "Why aren't you working?"

Taylor caught the ball. "I'm a kid, right?"

Takeru blinked. "That sounds sensible."

"Anyhow, I have to go inside, now. Mom says the weather lady says it'll rain soon," Taylor said.

Taylor walked away.

Takeru was about to turn around for home, when Akira appeared out of nowhere.

"I saw on TV it was raining! Here's your coat," Akira said.

"Thank you," said Takeru, more out of politeness than anything else.

They walked home in silence.

Both of the farmers got out of their coats, which were soaked.

Takeru was shivering.

Akira rolled her eyes. "Let's share again."

Takeru reluctantly placed the other half of the blanket on himself.

"We need a fireplace," Takeru said.

"Good idea," said Akira, dreamingly. "Now, let's sleep."

The next day, each farmer got ready to go to their faraway farms.

"Walking for so long and then farming will be pretty strenuous," said Takeru.

"That's something we both agree on," Akira said.

"Well, I'd like some help," Takeru said. "Want to help me?"

Akira stopped in her tracks. "If you'll help me, first."

Then Takeru and Akira went to Akira's farm.

Takeru looked after the easier animals because he wasn't good with animals.

He looked after the chickens, the ducks, the sheep, the silk worms and the horse.

Akira looked after the cows, goats and ostrich.

She went inside, got blueberry juice and exited.

"Thanks," Takeru said with a stretch.

They sat in the field in silence as they sipped the juice.

"That was kind of fun," Takeru said. "I never look after animals."

"Then you're going to enjoy this!" said Akira

She went inside, then existed the house with a small, white dog with pointy ears.

"This is Snowy," she said as she presented her. "She's a girl dog."

"You left her inside while you went to stay with me?" Takeru asked.

"I left her food. Same with the farm animals,"

"Well, if you promise not to do it again, I'll let you carry Snowy to the Mountain Plot," said Takeru.

Akira blinked. "All right."

She got out some dog food from the house and then they went to the Mountain Plot.

Once they got there, Takeru saw Akira playing with Snowy. It showed a new sight to his fellow farmer. He had a warm feeling inside of him.

"Well, I gave Snowy some food and water. Let's grow some crops!" Akira said.

Akira was, not surprisingly, worse at planting. So, she shook some trees for fruit.

Takeru planted and harvested several different kinds of crops; flowers, turnips, potatoes, cabbages, flax, strawberries, breadfruit, green herbs, hycanith flowers, lavender flowers, tulip flowers and moondrop flowers.

This time, Akira was the tired one.

She layed down on the grass to rest.

Takeru went outside, then exited with some rice bread and butter.

"It's delicious!" she said. "It reminds me of my childhood. My parents bought it just for me."

"I'm glad you like it," Takeru said.

It wasn't always that people enjoyed his cooking. She was enjoying that more than her own.

"So, now what?" she asked once she was no longer tired.

"I think it's about time we either order a fireplace or create one of our own," said he.

"Well, I enjoy projects on my own accord," said Akira. "So, let's get to it!"

Takeru rolled his eyes. "If you want to. But I want SOME things delivered to the house!"

The farmers, now a team, we're building a fireplace. It went smoothly, two weeks passing by. They were at the halfway point in their stay together.

By day, they would get (nearly), all materials from the local blacksmith.

At night, they would huddle together under a blanket, Snowy in her bed in the corner and the barn animals in the barn.

One day, they were in their shared home, when Takeru noticed something.

"I bet we may get the beds threw the windows," he said.

"I think so, too!" said Akira.

So, they got the two beds threw the windows.

That night, Akira and Takeru slept in the same room.

But in separate beds.

Each felt lonely.

"Akira?" Takeru asked.

"Yes?" she asked in turn.

"May we pull the beds together?" Takeru asked.

"Well-"

"Just sleep,"

"That sounds nice," said Akira.

So, Akira and Takeru slept together, as close as their two beds.

"You want to continue living together?" asked Gill at the Town Hall the next day.

He was talking to the farmers.

"We've already decided," said Akira.

"We're moving the animals and replanting the crops at the Mountain Plot," said Takeru.

Gill smiled. "Looks like my father will be officiating another wedding, soon!"

Akira blushed.

"How are you able to tell?" asked Takeru.

"I inherited such things from my father. It's like a sixth sense," said Gill.

"Well, we'll be married soon!" said Akira.

"You bet!" said Takeru.

Soon, Akira gave birth to a baby girl who she and Takeru named, "Henrietta".

Later in the day, after her chores were finished, she brought home a cat near the entrance to Waffle Town. A white cat.

"I like your new animal friend!" Takeru said, proudly.

"She looks just like Snowy," said Akira.

"May I keep her?" Henrietta asked.

Both parents looked at each other.

"Sure!" said Takeru. "If you look after her."

"And name her!" said Akira.

"How about 'Snowball'?" Henrietta asked.

"Snowball it is!" said the parents.

And so, Henrietta was on her way to be a new farmer! And she also looked after a pet!
