Idea 23.
I'm open to people suggesting things like ships but remember I write Fem!Izuku (Izumi) x other girls and I'm more interested in some pairs than others. Rare pairs are very welcome, you all know me.
Relationships such as potential friends, mentors, or family members (adoption is fine)
Miscellaneous stuff like what school Izumi may attend or if she didn't, whether she's a hero student, criminal, or villain, key parts of her personality, hero and quirk names and story titles, what type of story it is, hell you can all even suggest where OFA goes, etc.
Instead of just putting out ideas, I also did a little writing for each one but that DOESN'T mean this beta writing would be in the story if said idea takes off.
Anyways, feel free to leave suggestions in the reviews and of course which idea they pertain to.
Enjoy, more notes at the end!
Title: Fracture (?)
*Cathleen POV*
"I just want away from hero and villain stuff as much as possible so I've been thinking of moving recently," the greenette revealed as she looked up tiredly at the night sky.
Cathleen had only met Midoriya recently when the younger woman had randomly acted as her guide for the day but she hadn't expected to speak to someone who so intimately understood different aspects of quirked society. For all that Cathleen had argued, the look on the woman's face and the feeling in her chest told her it was time to listen instead.
"Surely talking to a hero about this wouldn't give you any answers," the American hero replied back but Midoriya still kept staring up as she leaned back.
"I've had conversations like this with plenty of others before but all the interactions just end with being avoided afterwards and the arguments are just too tiring after hearing the same things over and over," the green haired woman explained.
Midoriya looked tired and beat down and Cathleen had never met someone this drained and disappointed in life before.
"Isn't that just because they, and heroes themselves, believe in selflessness and helping others?" the blonde offered, not wanting to argue but trying to understand what the greenette was talking about.
"Maybe," the younger woman agreed but she didn't seem to believe it herself, "but humans are too selfish for that and objectively there's no such thing as true selflessness," Midoriya told her quietly, "it comes with the point of view since opinions differ from person to person. If a hero acts humble then they're seen as modest, arrogant, or just doing whatever they want," the greenette listed out a few examples, "It's not just about heroes either."
Cathleen realized that Midoriya wasn't really focus on solely one topic and the thoughts that had been building up in her just needed to spill out. It wasn't as if she was saying hurtful or untrue things either but they were certainly against the majority of what people thought.
"Heroes rise up for fame or their own desires, civilians get to act good by siding with them but tear them down if they make the smallest human mistake which makes them feel better than said hero, and then villains drag in innocents into their problems under the pretense that their own experiences make up for what they're doing," she rattled off, this time readjusting herself so she was staring at the ground while twisting her hands and pondering more on what she said about villains, "Maybe they start with people who wronged them but then all of a sudden they're doing it for pleasure while saying that it's everyone's fault for enjoying their own lives." Midoriya chuckled a little sadly, "most people don't even know them and of course they'd be simply living with themselves in mind. Can they worry about everyone on the planet without burning out and breaking down?"
"No," Cathleen muttered, thinking about how easy it was for someone to become overloaded with everything happening around them even if it had nothing to do with them.
"People always compare their misfortunes as if it gives them an edge over one another," the greenette continued with a sigh and a pensive look. "I suffered more so I can do this and you can't. Isn't that just a justification to disregard someone else and make you feel right?" she questioned rhetorically. "Apparently having a greater whatever is a validation in itself."
It was an undeniable fact but one that many people that thought that way found wrongful or inappropriate but the blonde hero just remained quiet and continued listening.
"Seems like if you involve yourself in all that then you need to leave some of your good humanity at the door," Midoriya stated, referencing the ins and outs of quirked society as a whole, "The lip service of some heroes, the two-faced majority of the civilians, and the group of villains that just self justify. It's all just really exhausting." Midoriya suddenly laughed a little before her voice quieted down, "It feels so unfair of me to say these things since it's not something so simple but...ugh, I just need the thoughts out of my head."
Cathleen studied the younger woman as Midoriya's eyes drifted away to look off to the side.
"Then again," the greenette sighed, leaning back again to study the sky, "I'm just someone who's unsatisfied with her own life and hasn't done anything about it so what right do I have to complain this much."
The hero didn't have any words to respond to her but Midoriya seemed to be content with just shuffling away her problems as she put a hand over her face.
"Sorry, it's just one of those days," the greenette stated and the tension in her body was drained as she went nearly limp.
"It's just really, really, exhausting."
Notes and Stuff
Quirk: I haven't settled exclusively on a quirk but the one I had in mind is called, "8 Hours Rest" in which after 8 hours of cumulative sleep, any physical injury that Izumi has is healed.
When you write a lot about something then you tend to have a lot of extra thoughts about it and even if it's not exactly what you want to write about at the moment then you still note it down so you don't forget it. I've got no clue where I'm going with this, the premise, or even the timeline but it was on my mind for a while so I wrote it down. I figured that pairing wise with this Izumi it should definitely be a hero and maybe someone with a strong sense but a slightly different perspective on some stuff so I picked Star and Stripe, Cathleen Bate. Like I said, no real idea on why she's there or timeline but I picked her anyway.
I didn't really have a ton of thought going into how this Izumi would be except completely exhausted with quirked society. She's in a really awkward place for the most part and has come to a bit of a life standstill and the quirk I had in mind was going to come into play with that in her backstory. She's definitely not going the hero or villain/criminal route but I don't have a clear image for where she's heading at the moment.
Anyways, feel free to leave me suggestions in the reviews!
