Idea 54: Quirk Log 4
Another quirk log. I had a lot on my mind lately and have been doing a lot of reading too while sporadically adding adding things to my notes.
Quirk Log 4
(Zone In, Zone Out)
Quirk: Trance
-Goes into a trance and becomes ever better at her task
-Becomes single minded, can't multitask
-Has trouble snapping out of her trance until the goal is accomplished
I kinda got this idea from playing rhythm games lately. I mean it's basically the idea of whenever you get 'in the zone' but just turned into a quirk. Instead however, the longer that Izumi is at something the better she continues to get at it. As I listed out though, it's not always a good thing because she basically stops paying attention to anything else unless she finishes what she's doing or is snapped out of it. She's like Mei in that sense but not focused on support items.
Maybe Izumi is kind of eccentric in that her tastes are sort of all over the place. Instead of liking a single subject her interests range to dozens of different things. Not too sure on a personality type or pairing for her but I found the idea interesting nonetheless.

Quirk: Barrier
-Izumi is all about defense

Hey look One Piece.
Channeling fan energy I've gone with Bartolomeo's Barrier Barrier fruit as a quirk. For anyone not familiar with it, Barto can construct, what has so far seen to be, indestructible barriers that resemble glass panes by crossing the fore and middle fingers on his hands. These barriers can also be manipulated in shape as Barto has made spheres, staircases, and cylinders of them before. There are limitations though in that only one barrier can be sustained at once, there is a max surface area that can be made at once, and that the barriers can be physically pushed back with enough strength.
With this one I wanted to have an Izumi that was going the hero route but who is solely focused on defense. She believes defending people is the coolest thing you can do as a hero and loves heroes with a focus on defense. That said, she can be a bit rude in her taunting and mocking of those trying to get by her barriers as she's very proud of her ability. Though if they do get by her she'll readjust instead of getting down or angry.

Quirk: Lock Body
-All about capture
-Izumi is strict on herself and others
-Leading type
-Takes a more supportive role but can fight
One Piece again because I wanted to give some ideas to the lesser used devil fruits. This is Hina's devil fruit, the Cage Cage Fruit.
It gives Hina the ability to bind people with iron-like constructs manifested from her body when they make contact with her. As a note we've never seen someone escape these nor break them. When she makes contact with someone or something she wants to lock, her body will bend against it and transform into something like a restraining metal cuff and the bending body part fully regenerates afterwards. It's possible to shackle more than one object at once too which allows for locking a target to nearby environments. Hina can also generate flexible metal bars from her hands that behave in the same manner, bending around and restraining anything in their way, which allows more range and the ability to catch multiple targets.
As opposed to the last idea, Izumi is about swift capture, locking opponents up quickly with no funny business. Izumi can be strict on people, as well as herself, but does so because she can realize their potential. She's reliable and is quick to give general commands but knows where she and others need to be and what to do to perform their best based on their abilities.

-Hides all her inhuman features
-Long skirt to hide snake head tail (leg features too?)
-Curls hair into hair buns to hide her ram horns
-Rest of hair down to hide ears? (Ear type undecided)
-Keeps wings scrunched up (Wings no wings?)
-Mask to hide teeth (Sharp teeth and savage fangs)
-Acts as a demure, proper lady type because she believes that is part of being a good member of society as well as a good way to make friends
-If set off she's more the completely unhinged feral type
-Real personality is closer to 50/50 of her proper-ness and wildness

I wanted to write Izumi with more non-human features so I figured what better way than some kind of monster which naturally led me to the classic chimera. She'd have all sort of extra features that she hides away in a bid to make friends. She's not a particularly lonely person or anything but she does want deep connections with people and understands that making a slow approach gives her a better chance to interact with others. She didn't hide her features much as a little kid but does so now as she's not the type who likes standing out. Plus, making her angry is a horrid idea because her temper taps into a more savage side in which she might legit smash someone's bones. Although overall she's generally a very sweet person.

Quirk: Permit (Copy/AFO-esque)
-Must receive permission from person to temporarily gain their quirk
-Set time limit or time limit given by person? Cannot exceed 1 day?
-Can gain multiple quirks this way and use them in conjunction
-Can use accumulation quirks but they're less effective since she can only have a quirk for a day? (Supplement with possible quirk combos?)
-Cool down time? Same as the duration she had the quirk?
I wanted quirk combos but not all the issues that come with AFO so I flipped it around in that Izumi can only get a copy of a quirk if someone verbally, and seriously, allows her to have it. I'm still working on a time limit, I'm leaned towards having the quirk for up to 24 hours and then having some kind of cool down, but I also wanted Izumi to be able to have multiple quirks at once. I also figured it might be fun in that the other students can practice with someone with a legit 1 to 1 version of their quirk. Of course there would be some quirks that Izumi would need practice or extra info with, like Momo's quirk, but for the most part she takes to them generally well.

-Villain Izumi or Petty Criminal Izumi? (Petty criminal to villain maybe?)
-Izumi can erase the last 3-5 minutes of someone's memories? (lower time?)
-Physical contact with hand(s) to target's head?
-Somewhat cocky, snappy and snarky sort attitude at times
I was a bit interested in the idea of Izumi doing petty crimes. No big villain or criminal, though if that becomes the natural progression then sure, but mainly an Izumi kind of just acting out. She'd use her quirk to her advantage, not just cause or to really hurt or mess with people, and often she just nabs things like money. I can see though how that can get her into way more trouble than she was expecting if she accidentally lifts something important from someone important. Who knows, maybe that's how she falls into her own adventure concurrently with the general plot.

Quirk: Spirit Bow
-Izumi can summon a bow (yumi type bow)
-Can create her own energy arrows of different elemental types (normal, fire, ice, etc...)
-practices kyudo (Was in an archery club?)
-Calm and quieter type, very understanding and willing to listen and talk.
-Muscular back (note for her pairing)
Was interested in a calm Izumi as well as bows so I landed this idea. Honestly it came from me thinking of attack names from games and liking a lot of bow attack ones. Either way, Izumi would be a very patient and calm person who observes and assesses things. Izumi specifically can summon a bow used in kyudo and practices the art as well. Her attacks are slow to prepare but the shots are fast, precise, and powerful and she fires from very long distances to make up for the perpetration needed to shoot. Considering I want her to use her quirk then she'd likely be a hero/hero student but I can always make tweaks depending on what other details I latch onto.
Not my usual batch update as I've been busy but hopefully multiple updates in the future. I've been doing drafting on a number of fic updates to reorganize my thoughts and directions so that should help a little too. That said I'll likely get some ideas in the for yuri collection since they're shorter writings and I've had a surplus of ideas written down for that lately.
