Episode 352: Weekend Warrior
Hey, before we get this chapter started, I thought I should share that I plan on having Kairi's final opponent during the Silver Town Contest would be a young rocker and not someone who is middle-aged, and I'm not gonna have his family interrupt his performance, so please don't make a big deal out of it. Anyway, enjoy.
Shortly after Kairi and Elaine have each received an egg from Nicholette's parents after foiling the attempted theft of Pokémon eggs, Sora, Kairi, Chase, Elaine, Rei, Pikachu, Angel, Volt, and Maple made a brief stop.
"Sora, I think we should separate for a while," Chase proposed. Sora and Kairi were puzzled by Chase's proclamation.
"What sprung this up?" Sora asked.
"Well, it's something I've been thinking about ever since we left the egg farm back there. And since Nicholette is making it out on her own journey, Elaine and I figured we'd go and try it out for a while," Chase said.
"We did enjoy traveling with you, and we still do, but we don't want to depend on you more than we should," Elaine said.
"If you feel that way, guys, then you should know you have our full support. You don't need to ask us for permission. If it helps, I kinda expected it," Sora said.
"So did I. And we both think it's a great idea for you to train on your own," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"I strongly agree with Sora and Kairi. But I'll be coming with you as well. You two still need to learn about how to use the Keyblade since you're still new," Rei said.
"We were going to ask if you were coming, Master," Elaine said.
"Yeah, Sora did tell us there are some cool tricks you can teach us," Chase said. Rei chuckled.
"I'll warn you that learning them isn't as easy as it seems. I'm going to start with the basics before we get to our current teachings," Rei said. She turned to Sora and Kairi. "Sora, Kairi, I am expecting you two not to neglect your training."
"We wouldn't dream of it, Master," Kairi said.
"We'll do our best," Sora said.
"I can trust you with that. Good luck and we'll see you when we see you," Rei said.
With that said, Chase, Elaine, Rei, Volt, and Maple said their temporary goodbyes and went their own way.
Later, Sora and Kairi did some practice with their Keyblades as well as their Pokémon training while they were continuing on their journey.
They came to a nearby town and it was holding its part for the Pokémon Stadium Cup. Sora didn't waste any time entering it, so he was placed in the west wing. First, Sora was put up against a young woman wearing a yellow sleeveless shirt and an orange long skirt. They're battling on the Rock Field and it's a triple battle. The referee stepped out to begin the battle.
"Trainers, you know the rules, but a refresher never hurts! Each one of you will be using three Pokémon all at once, and the battle will be over when all three Pokémon are all unable to battle! Is that understood?" The referee asked.
"Yes," Sora and the young woman answered.
"Then, select your Pokémon and begin!" The referee called out. They each took out three Pokéballs and threw them.
"Sudowoodo, Gallade, Sandslash! Go!" Sora called out.
"Nidoqueen, Slowbro, Froslass! Go forth!" The young woman called out. "Shadow Ball! All three of you! And aim them at Gallade!" Her three Pokémon fired a Shadow Ball and sent them at Gallade.
"Dodge it, Gallade!" Sora called out. Gallade dodges the opposing Pokémon's Shadow Balls. "Sudowoodo! Use Mimic!" Sudowoodo's branch gave off a glow and learned Shadow Ball instantly. "Sandslash! Use Metal Claw on Froslass!" Sandslash rushes at Froslass with Metal Claw.
"Use Icy Wind!" The young woman ordered. Froslass unleashed an Icy Wind and blew Sandslash back, but also hitting Sudowoodo and Gallade as well. "Slowbro! Use Water Pulse and send it at Sandslash!" Slowbro forms a ball of water and hurls it at Sandslash.
"Gallade! Use Psychic on that Water Pulse!" Sora ordered. Gallade uses Psychic to save Sandslash from the water attack. Send it back!" Gallade sends Slowbro's Water Pulse back.
"Nidoqueen! Ice Beam!" The young woman ordered. Nidoqueen fired Ice Beam to freeze it and saves Slowbro.
"Okay, Sudowoodo! Shadow Ball!" Sora ordered. Sudowoodo unleashed Shadow Ball and sends it at Slowbro, landing some heavy damage.
"You'll pay for that! Froslass! Use Chilling Water on that Sudowoodo!" The young woman ordered. Froslass unleashed cold water and sent at the Imitation Pokémon. Seeing the water, Sudowoodo begins running, not wanting to get wet. Sudowoodo ran as fast he could to avoid the cold water.
"Sandslash! Help Sudowoodo! Metal Claw on Froslass!" Sora ordered. Sandslash came to Sudowoodo's aid by delivering a Metal Claw, hitting Froslass on the mark. Froslass stops using Chilling Water.
"You're okay now, Sudowoodo! Use Rock Slide!" Sora ordered. Sudowoodo hurls Rock Slide and sent it right at the opposing Pokémon. Froslass has taken some heavy damage due to her weakness against Rock-type attacks.
"Froslass is unable to battle!" The referee announced. She called her Froslass back.
"You battled hard, Froslass. Get some rest," the young woman said. She then begins to think, "I was going to have Froslass take that Gallade out, but that Sudowoodo just it harder. I can fix that." She called out. "Nidoqueen! Use your Submission on that Sudowoodo!" Nidoqueen came at Sudowoodo and grabbed him. She then rolls around with her opponent and gave Sudowoodo a toss, resulting in a knockout.
"Sudowoodo is unable to battle!" The referee announced. Sora called Sudowoodo back.
"You did great, Sudowoodo. You've earned yourself a good rest for right now," Sora said.
"Nidoqueen! Use Drill Run on Sandslash!" The young woman ordered.
"Gallade! Use Psychic on Nidoqueen!" Sora ordered. Gallade uses Psychic on the female Drill Pokémon and sends her back. "Sandslash! Use Crush Claw!" Sandslash came at Nidoqueen to land a Crush Claw.
"Slowbro! Use Psychic!" The young woman ordered. Slowbro uses Psychic on Sandslash to stop him.
"Gallade! Use Leaf Blade!" Sora ordered. Gallade came at Slowbro and lands a Leaf Blade onto Slowbro, knocking it out.
"Slowbro is unable to battle!" The referee announced. She called back her Slowbro.
"He's even better than I thought. But I'm going to win this battle! Nidoqueen! Use Hyper Beam!" Nidoqueen fires a Hyper Beam.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Gallade managed to dodge, but Sandslash wasn't so fortunate. He was struck hard by Nidoqueen's Hyper Beam and ended up being knocked out.
"Sandslash is unable to battle!" The referee announced. Sora called back Sandslash, making it into a single battle.
"Okay, Nidoqueen won't be able to attack again right away because of that Hyper Beam, so use Psychic!" Sora ordered. Gallade uses Psychic on Nidoqueen, lifting her up before slamming her down. "Great! Use Psycho Cut!" Gallade came at Nidoqueen with his arms giving off a psychic energy.
"Nidoqueen! Ice Beam!" The young woman ordered. Nidoqueen fired Ice Beam, but Gallade uses Psycho Cut to cut through the beam of ice. Gallade lands a successful hit onto Nidoqueen. "Use Brick Break!" Gallade lands a Brick Break onto Nidoqueen, hitting her in the gut. Nidoqueen then fell backwards, beaten.
"Nidoqueen is unable to battle! Gallade wins! Sora from Pallet Town wins the battle!" The referee announced.
"Great job, Gallade!" Sora said, praising the Blade Pokémon.
"Lade," Gallade said.
"That was a great battle. The way you battled is a sign you deserved to win," the young woman said.
"Thanks," Sora said.
Sora went through seven other battles, using Ursaluna, Ariados, Hitmonlee, Sceptile, and Pelipper. His last battle was now on the Grass Field and it was going to be a single battle against a familiar face. It was Wally.
"Hi, Sora. It's been a while," Wally greeted.
"Hey, Wally. Haven't seen you since we left the Hoenn region. I had a feeling I'd see you here," Sora said.
"I felt the same way. And we didn't really get a chance to battle each other in the Hoenn Pokémon League. I guess I'm getting that chance today," Wally said.
The referee stepped in to begin the battle.
"Trainers! Choose your first Pokémon and begin!" The referee called out. Sora and Wally each took out a Pokéball. They threw their Pokéballs.
"Okay, Donphan! Go!" Sora called out.
"Go! Flygon!" Wally called out.
Both Pokémon came out to battle.
"Donphan! Rollout!" Sora ordered. Donphan curls into a ball and starts rolling.
"Flygon! Dodge and use Dragon Breath!" Wally ordered. Flygon avoids Donphan's attack and fired a Dragon Breath at the Armor Pokémon. Donphan is hit by Flygon's Dragon Breath and paralyzed. Sora calls Donphan back and he took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Hitmonchan! You're up!" His Pokéball opened and his Hitmonchan came out to battle. "Hitmonchan! Use Ice Punch!" The Punching Pokémon came at Flygon and lands an Ice Punch onto it.
"Use Dragon Claw!" Wally ordered. Flygon came at Hitmonchan with a Dragon Claw.
"Mach Punch!" Sora ordered. Hitmonchan lands a Mach Punch onto Flygon. "Ice Punch!" Hitmonchan lands an Ice Punch, resulting in a knockout.
"Flygon is unable to battle! Hitmonchan wins!" The referee announced. Wally called his Flygon back and smiled.
"You did great, Flygon. Have yourself a good rest," Wally said. He took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Magnezone! Go!" His Pokéball opened and his Magnezone emerged from inside. "Magnezone! Flash Cannon!" Magnezone fired Flash Cannon right at the Punching Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Mach Punch!" Sora ordered. Hitmonchan avoids Magnezone's Mach Punch and lands a strong punch onto the Magnet Area Pokémon. "Use Fire Punch!" Hitmonchan prepares to use a Fire Punch.
"Discharge!" Wally ordered. Magnezone fired Discharge, shocking Hitmonchan. "Use Tri-Attack!" Magnezone fired a Tri-Attack, hitting Hitmonchan and knocked him out.
"Hitmonchan is unable to battle! Magnezone wins!" The referee announced. Sora calls his Hitmonchan back and he took out Donphan's Pokéball and threw it.
"Donphan! Back to action!" Sora called out. Donphan came back out to battle. Donphan felt his paralysis kick in. "I know you're still paralyzed from Flygon's Dragon Breath, but I need you to hang in there for as long as you can."
"Sora's Donphan is paralyzed thanks to Flygon's Dragon Breath, but I don't think it's going to stop it. I have to be careful," Wally said to himself.
"Donphan! Use Earthquake!" Sora ordered. Donphan slammed his feet to the ground, making the whole place shake. Magnezone was struck hard and received loads of damage.
"Magnezone! Use Tri-Attack!" Wally ordered.
"Donphan! High Horsepower!" Sora ordered. Donphan charges right at Magnezone. Donphan lands a hit onto Magnezone, but not before Magnezone fired a Tri-Attack. Both Pokémon were struck hard by the power of the two attacks, they both ended up being knocked out.
"Donphan and Magnezone are both unable to battle! This round is a draw!" The referee anounced. Sora and Wally each called their fallen Pokémon.
"Great job, Donphan. Get yourself a good rest," Sora said.
"You did an excellent job, Magnezone. You've earned yourself a good rest," Wally said.
"Not too shabby, Wally. You've really improved since the Hoenn Pokémon League," Sora said.
"Thanks, Sora. And now, it's time we both brought out our third Pokémon," Wally said.
"How right, you are," Sora agreed, looking at Pikachu. Wally took out his next Pokéball and threw it as Sora points ahead.
"Gallade! Go!" Wally shouted.
"Pikachu! Go!" Sora called out.
Pikachu and Gallade entered the battlefield at the same time.
"Gallade! Begin with your Swords Dance, followed by a Leaf Blade!" Wally ordered. Gallade begins with a Swords Dance, increasing Gallade's attack power. Gallade then rushes at Pikachu with a Leaf Blade.
"Dodge and use Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu ran to avoid Gallade's Leaf Blade and jumped up to deliever an Iron Tail. Gallade might have missed the first time, but the Blade Pokémon uses Leaf Blade to block Pikachu's Iron Tail.
"That was good, Gallade! Close Combat!" Wally ordered. Gallade came at Pikachu to land some hits on the Mouse Pokémon.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Using his speed, Pikachu dodges Gallade's Close Combat. Gallade keeps trying to land a hit onto Pikachu, but Gallade was becoming more and tired from the attempted attacks. "Gallade's getting tired. Gotta end this while I have the chance."
"Gallade's getting exhausted. He won't last much longer if this keeps up. Gallade! Psycho Cut!" Wally ordered. Gallade forms a psychic energy on his arms and came at Pikachu.
"Dodge and use Electro Ball!" Sora ordered. Pikachu managed to dodge Gallade's Psycho Cut and fired an Electro Ball at Gallade.
"Hurry and dodge it!" Wally called out. Gallade tried to dodge, but he wasn't fast enough because he was too tired. Gallade was hit by Pikachu's Electro Ball.
"Wrap it up with a Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dashed at Gallade and lands a hit, resulting in a knockout.
"Gallade is unable to battle! Pikachu wins! The winner is Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee announced. Wally helped Gallade up.
"Are you alright, Gallade?" Wally asked.
"Gallade," Gallade said.
"Don't feel bad about losing. I know you did your absolute best. And I'm very proud of you," Wally said. This made Gallade feel so much better. Sora and Pikachu approached Wally and Gallade.
"How's Gallade doing?" Sora asked.
"He'll be alright. Anyway, congratulations on your victory, Sora. You really did earn that victory in Evergrand City," Wally said.
"Thanks for the nice words, Wally. Hope we get to battle each other again sometime," Sora said.
"Likewise," Wally said.
Sora has won his portion of the Pokémon Stadium Cup and he and Pikachu met up with their significant others. Sora had his Pokémon healed up in the Pokémon Center.
"Now, that's over, let's see if we can get you caught up in a Pokémon Contest," Sora said.
"Yeah, I can't be falling behind now," Kairi said.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
"Eevee, vee," Angel said.
"Excuse me, but did you mention a Pokémon Contest?" Nurse Joy asked.
"Yes, we did. Why?" Kairi asked.
"Well, I thought it should interest you to know that there's a Pokémon's Center taking place in Silver Town just up ahead," Nurse Joy said.
"Silver Town. Got it," Sora said.
"When is it taking place?" Kairi asked.
"The Contest should be taking place in about a week," Nurse Joy said.
"That's plenty of time, Kairi. I know you can go for it," Sora said.
"I already know I've got your support, Sora. Let's get the show on the road," Kairi said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel took off for Silver Town for the Pokémon Contest. Just when they were on the road, Angel's ears perked up.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"What is it, Angel?" Kairi asked.
"You hear something?" Sora asked.
"Eevee," Angel nodded.
Sora and Kairi assumed it was a Heartless, Nobody, or Unversed making its move against them, but it turns out to be a Bulbasaur.
"It was only a Bulbasaur," Sora said.
"She must be out on a stroll," Kairi said. She looked at the Bulbasaur and she reminded her of Sora's Venusaur when he was a Bulbasaur. She then gets an idea. She took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Flareon! Let's go!" Her Pokéball opened and her Flareon came right out.
"You're going to catch that Bulbasaur, aren't you?" Sora asked.
"You know it, Sora. That Bulbasaur looks like a keeper and I'm gonna catch her," Kairi said, giggling. "Flareon! Use Fire Fang!" Flareon charged at Bulbasaur with a Fire Fang. The wild Bulbasaur charges with a Tackle, but Flareon lands a fiery bite. "Use Fire Spin!" Flareon fired a spiraling flame, surrounding Bulbasaur. The Seed Pokémon was trapped. "Use Quick Attack!" Flareon dashed right at Bulbasaur and lands a hit. Bulbasaur then attacks with a Vine Whip, hitting Flareon. Bulbasaur then charges at Flareon with another Tackle. "Flareon! Flamethrower! Flareon fired a Flamethrower and lands a hit onto Bulbasaur, knocking her out. Kairi took out a Pokeball and threw it right at the Seed Pokémon. The Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Kairi's Pokémon Box goes off asking her idf she wants to keep her new Bulbasaur with her. She chose to send her to Professor Oak's lab. "And I got my own Bulbasaur."
"Eevee, vee!" Angel said.
"Flareon!" Flareon said.
With that done, Kairi has given Flareon a Sitrus Berry to recover from his injuries and pressed on their way. They then arrived to Silver Town, the sight of Kairi's next Pokémon Contest. She did a lot of thinking about which Pokémon to use for the round of the Contest. She decided to go with her Ampharos in the first round and Hitmontop in the second round. She would send up a mixture of Thunderbolt, Dragon Pulse, and Signal Beam, and then follow it up with a Thunder Punch as the finish.
"Ampharos! Use Thunderbolt!" Kairi ordered. Ampharos unleashed a Thunderbolt, sending it up in the air. Ampharos's Thunderbolt has created a giant ball of electricity. "Now, use Dragon Pulse!" Ampharos unleashed a Dragon Pulse, merging it into Thunderbolt. It turned into a mixture of yellow and purple. "Use Signal Beam!" Ampharos fired Signal Beam into the mixed Thunderbolt and Dragon Pulse. It turned into a giant globe of colors. "Now, use Thunder Punch!" Ampharos jumped up and lands a Thunder Punch, making it explode upon contact, but the explosion has turned into a rain of multicolored sparkles. "That was wonderful, Ampharos. You've done well." Ampharos beamed. She turned to Hitmontop. "Okay, Hitmontop, how about some battle training?"
"Montop," Hitmontop said.
As the days passed, Kairi was training Hitmontop for the Contest battle. Hitmontop has sparred with Jolteon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon. Kairi knew there was a possibility that he'll be up against either a Flying-type, a Psychic-type, or a Fairy-type Pokémon, so she wanted Hitmontop to be ready for anything. Hitmontop practiced with his Gyro Ball, Triple Kick, and Low Sweep for offence and Detect for only when needed. Kairi saw how well Hitmontop has improved on his skills and she was very proud.
It was the day of the Silver Town Pokémon Contest. Kairi was brushing Ampharos's fur, making her presentable for the judges.
"Well, Ampharos, I think you look marvelous. Are you ready to make your Contest debut?" Kairi asked. The Light Pokémon nodded. "I thought you would be. Let's see if the days we've spent practicing paid off."
Sora, Pikachu, Angel, Hitmonchan, and Hitmonlee took their seats in the audience when a young woman with brownish-orange hair came along. She wore a light blue dress and white shoes with white socks.
"Excuse me, but you don't mind if I sit here, do you?" The young woman asked.
"No, I don't mind. You can sit there if you want to," Sora said.
"Thank you," the young woman said, sitting down.
"Someone you know entering?" Sora asked.
"Only my fiance. You?" The young woman asked.
"My girlfriend is in it," Sora said.
"How nice," the young woman said.
"Back at you, and congrats on you getting married," Sora said.
"Thank you," the young woman said.
Lillian has taken the stage to begin the Contest. The judges have taken their seats as the Contest begins.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it's showtime, with the very best Pokémon Coordinators really shine! The Silver Town Contest! The people of Silver Town welcomes you with opened arms! My name? Call me Lilian! And give yourselves a big hand!" Lillian announced. The crowd cheered really hard. "And now, let's introduce our judges! First, the head of the Contest Committee is Raul Contesta!"
"Thank you! I'm looking forward to a really big show!" Mr. Contesta said.
"And next, it's the head of the Pokémon Fan Club, Mr. Suziko!" Lillian announced.
"Last and absolutely not least, presenting former Top Coordinator, Rumiko!" Lillian
"I'm glad all of you have come all this way!" Rumiko said.
"Now, it's now it's time to meet and greet our Contest Coordinators! Come on down!" Lillian announced as the Coordinators stepped on stage and waved to everyone.
"Which one's your girlfriend?" The young woman asked.
"The one with the red hair, right there," Sora said, pointing to Kairi.
"Oh, she's pretty," the young woman cooed.
"How about you? Which one is your fiance?" Sora asked.
"Him," the young woman said, pointing to the rocker. She blushes deeply.
Sora looked right at him and he begins to imagine her holding him by the arm and saying "But, daddy, I love him." Sora quietly laughed at the thought.
"A fine-looking group of competitors ready to give it their all! Let's give them all a big round of applause!" Lillian announced. The audience cheered hard. "Alright! Time for the magic words! Let's get started! The judges are ready to roll! And you?"
"Yeah!" The crowd all shouted at the top of their lungs.
"That's awesome! Talking about a great crowd! So stand by for entry number one! Let's get busy!" Lillian announced. Coordinators are coming around and giving out their performances, so let's have a look at some of them, shall we?
"Bellossom! Petal Dance!" A female Coordinator ordered. Her Bellossom unleashed Petal Dance all around.
"Exeggutor! Use Sludge Bomb!" A male Coordinator ordered. His Exeggutor unleashed Sludge Bomb from each one of its heads.
"Farfetch'd! Swords Dance!" Another male Coordinator ordered as his Farfetch'd swings its leek around like a sword.
"Marowak! Use Flame Wheel!" Another female Coordinator ordered. An Alolan Marowak twirls its bone, emitting green flames.
"Mamoswine! Blizzard!" Another male Coordinator ordered as his Mamoswine unleashed a Blizzard.
"Mr. Rime! Teeter Dance!" Anogher female Coordinator ordered. Her Mr. Rime dances and creates waves of pink mist which spreads all around.
Some of the other performances have been completed, so it was now Kairi's turn.
"It looks like everything is coming right along! Up next is Kairi from Pallet Town!" Lillian announced as Kairi enters the stage, holding her Pokéball.
"Show 'em how it's done, Kairi!" Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu cheered.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Ampharos! Go!" Kairi called out, throwing her Pokéball. Ampharos came out, sparkling and her tail giving off a bright glow.
"Looks like Ampharos is making a glimmering entrance!" Lillian announced.
"Ampharos! Thunderbolt!" Kairi ordered. Ampharos unleashed a Thunderbolt and sent it up into the air, creating a giant ball of electricity.
"Ampharos just greated a giant electrified ball with that Thunderbolt!" Lillian announced.
"Dragon Pulse!" Kairi ordered. Ampharos sends out her Dragon Pulse, mixing with Ampharos's Thunderbolt. "Now, use Signal Beam!" Ampharos fired Signal Beam, mixing with Ampharos's Thunderbolt and Dragon Pulse.
"This is amazing! Ampharos just created a giant globe, mixing in three different energies!I wonder what she's got in store for her finale!" Lillian announced.
"Thunder Punch!" Kairi ordered. Ampharos jumped up and lands her Thunder Punch on the giant globe, making it explode in sparkles, much to everyone's amazement.
"And Ampharos makes its finish with its Thunder Punch!" Lillian announced.
"Such a colorful and creative way," Mr. Contesta said.
"Remarkable!" Mr. Suziko added.
"It was such a true work of art," Rumiko said.
"And there you have it! And let's see what our final competitor has in store for us! Let's hear it for Jeremy!" Lillian announced. The lights goes off as Jeremy is rocking out, playing his electric guitar. His electric guitar has four Pokéballs in place.
"Alright, now! Let's say yeah!" Jeremy shouted.
"Yeah!" The crowd all shouted back.
Jeremy took one of the Pokéballs and he prepared to throw it.
"Butterfree, let's dazzle some of our groovy tricks and some of my tasty lycs! Let's rock and roll!" Jeremy shouted as he threw it. His Butterfree emerged from inside. "Poison Powder and then Stun Spore!" His Butterfree sprinkled Poison Powder, followed by Stun Spore. "Time to spread the love!" Butterfree flapped its wings, making Stun Spore and Poison Powder swirl around into a spiral. "Now, do a Safeguard!" Butterfree gave off a light green glow. It shines in the middle of the spiral.
"Wow, that's gorgeous! I've never seen a combination like that before! A totally original way to show off the majesty of Butterfree!" Lillian announced.
"Wow, that's awesome," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Chan," Hitmonchan said.
"Lee," Hitmonlee said.
"Jeremy has been working on that for a while," the young woman said.
The judges were also at awe with what they saw.
"I don't know what to say," Rumiko said.
"I do! Remarkable!" Mr. Suziko said.
"You're a man of few words, but you're right!" Mr. Contesta said.
He wrapped up his performance with an epic guitar solo.
"Thank you, Silver Town! You've been an awesome audience!" Jeremy said.
"And that wraps up the appeals round! Just wait just a moment to see which four Coordinators will be moving on in the second round!" Lillian announced.
In the backstage, Jeremy drank some water as his fiance came to the back.
"That was an amazing job, Jeremy," the young woman said.
"Thanks, Mandy. I dedicated that to you," Jeremy said.
"You're sweet," Mandy swooned.
Sora and Kairi were watching them, smiling.
"Hey, Kairi, I have a question to ask," Sora said.
"Yeah? What do you wanna ask?" Kairi asked.
"Would you love me if I was a rock and roll star?" Sora asked. Kairi giggled.
"Yes, I would. I'd be your number one fan," Kairi said. Sora smiled at that.
"And now, the results are now in, ladies and gentlemen! And here they are the four talented Coordinators who are making it!" Lillian announced, showing Kairi and Jeremy being among the four. The crowd cheered hard.
Kairi was having hers against the Coordinator with his Exeggutor.
"Hitmontop! Use Gyro Ball!" Kairi ordered. Hitmontop spins around and lands the finishing blow onto the Coconut Pokémon, earning her victory.
"Kairi has made quick work of her opponent and moves on in the final stage!" Lillian announced.
"Good job, Hitmontop!" Kairi cheered.
"Hitmontop!" Hitmontop said.
After that battle, Jeremy is up against a young woman with a Vileplume.
"Vileplume, go! Petal Blizzard!" The young woman ordered. Vileplume unleashed Petal Blizzard and sends it at the Seed Pokémon.
"Venusaur! Razor Leaf!" Jeremy ordered. Venusaur unleashed Razor Leaf and cuts through the flower petals and lands a hit onto Vileplume, resulting in a knockout.
"Vileplume is unable to battle and Jeremy joins Kairi up in the final stage!" Lillian announced.
"Awesome!" Jeremy cheered. The crowd roared at the hard battle. The time has come for the final battle of the Contest, and only one of them is going home with that Ribbon.
"It's now time for the main event! And our two finalists of the Silver Town Pokémon Contest: the sweet and petite, red-headed Kairi and our favorite rock and roller, Jeremy!" Lillian announced as the crowd cheered hard.
"Hey, Kairi, good luck in our battle," Jeremy said.
"Thanks. You do the same thing. Just don't hold back, okay?" Kairi asked.
"I wouldn't dream of it. And you'll regret saying it," Jeremy said. Both Kairi and Jeremy got into position to begin their battle.
"Now, it is time for our final battle! Bring it all home!" Lillian announced. Kairi took out her Pokéball and threw it.
"Hitmontop! Go!" Kairi called out. Her Pokéball opened and Hitmontop came out with a spin.
"Yo, Venusaur!" Jeremy shouted, taking his Pokéball off his guitar and threw it. "Let's go get 'em!" His Pokéball and Venusaur emerged from inside. Hitmontop gave off a look, activating his Intimidate ability. It cuts Venusaur's attack power. "Rock 'em with Razor Leaf!" Venusaur fired Razor Leaf right at the Handstand Pokémon.
"Hitmontop! Use Detect!" Kairi ordered. Hitmontop uses his Detect to avoid Venusaur's Razor Leaf. It costs him some of his points.
"Vine Whip, now!" Jeremy ordered. Venusaur uses Vine Whip to land a hit onto Hitmontop. It takes away more of Kairi's points.
"Well, folks, we got quite a battle going on! Venusaur has overwhelming power and then some, so how do they stack up against Kairi and her Hitmontop?" Lillian asked.
"Go, Venusaur! Let's see how they like this tune! Frenzy Plant!" Jeremy ordered.
"Uh-oh," Kairi said. Venusaur stomps on the ground while surrounded by a green aura. The Seed Pokémon slammed its feet on the ground, summoning thorns from the ground.
"Use Detect!" Kairi ordered. Hitmontop uses Detect to avoid one of the thorns, but she sees coming in from the right. "On your right!" Hitmontop looked and saw the thorn coming. He's struck by the thorn.
"And that Frenzy Plant scores big time while Kairi watches helplessly as her points wither away," Lillian announced.
"That Venusaur has so more power than I thought," Kairi said to herself. She then noticed how tired Venusaur looked. She figured it had to come from Frenzy Plant. "Power has its limits. That Frenzy Plant must have sapped his energy. Also, Frenzy Plant works just like Hyper Beam and Giga Impact. A Pokemon can't attack again right away after using it. Hitmontop! Use Triple Kick!" Hitmontop spins around and around. Hitmontop lands a hit onto Vensuaur. With each hit, Jeremy loses his points. "Use Gyro Ball!" Hitmontop lands another hit with Gyro Ball. "Low Sweep!" Hitmontop lands a kick, dealing some additional damage on Vensuaur.
"It looks like it's not over yet! Hitmontop takes advantage of an exhausted Venusaur! Lillian announced.
"I should have known Frenzy Plant was a bad move to make. Venusaur is getting creamed!" Jeremy said.
"We're coming down to the wire as precious seconds slowly dwindles away!" Lillian announced.
"It looks like I'm going have to go for bro. It's now or never," Jeremy said in his thoughts.
"I know they're going for that Frenzy Plant. I gotta use Detect to avoid it," Kairi said in her thoughts.
Venusaur pushes Hitmontop away.
"Okay, Venusaur! Use Frenzy Plant!" Jeremy ordered. Venusaur unleashes another Frenzy Plant, summoning more thorns. The thorns comes right at Hitmontop.
"Detect!" Kairi ordered. Hitmontop uses Detect to avoid Venusaur's Frenzy Plant. "Spin as fast as you can! Gyro Ball!" Hitmontop begins to spin faster and faster. He spins even faster than the Tasmanian Devil and cuts through the thorns like a knife cutting through butter. It greatly surprises Jeremy and his Venusaur.
"I don't believe what I'm seeing, ladies and gentlemen! Hitmontop is putting a lot more power into that Gyro Ball! And it doesn't look like anything can stop this spinning force of nature!" Lillian announced. Hitmontop lands a heavy hit onto Venusaur
"Wha?! I can't be!" Jeremy gasped.
But it can! Venusaur lands on the ground, beaten from the epic spinning Hitmontop had been doing. Hitmontop ceases his spin and became very dizzy from the spinning he's been doing.
"The world is still spinning." - Hitmontop subtitle.
"Venusaur is unable to battle and with three seconds left on the clock, Kairi comes in with a big win!" Lillian announced.
"Great job, Hitmontop. You were wonderful," Kairi said.
"Hitmontop," Hitmon said.
"Jeremy lost," Mandy said.
"Looks like you lost another one," Jeremy said.
"Venusaur," Venusaur said.
"Yeah, I think you're a piece of work, too," Jeremy said, smiling.
The Contest draws to a close as Contesta presents Kairi her Silver Town Ribbon. Ampharos and Hitmontop stood beside her.
"Congratulations, Kairi for winning the Silver Ribbon! Presenting your winner of the Silver Town Pokémon Contest, Kairi from Pallet Town!" Lillian announced. The crowd cheered hard for Kairi's victory.
"Two down, three to go," Kairi said to herself.
After the Contest, Jeremy and Mandy stood before Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel as they were heading to the Pokémon Center.
"Congratulations on your win, Kairi. I can see why you won the Grand Festival," Jeremy said.
"Thank you, Jeremy. You were amazing out there," Kairi said.
"I can only hope that the two of you have yourselves a bright future ahead of you," Mandy said. Sora and Kairi blushed.
"Yeah," Sora and Kairi said.
"Good luck in the other Contests, Kairi. I'll be rooting for you," Jeremy said.
"That's nice of you, Jeremy," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Now that Kairi has earned her second Contest Ribbon in Kanto, she needs only three more to get into the Grand Festival. And so, the journey still continues on their way to more adventure. Stay tuned.
