New York
Marian left the flat at 2:45 pm. Two minutes later, Roland was laying on the bed, watching cartoons. He knew his father would not forbid him to watch TV. It was an agreement between them. If Marian leaves the flat, the two of them just do whatever they want. That one hour was their "father and son" time. In the first few weeks Roland used this time for crying. Robin's heart was broken, he tried to comfort him, but the little boy just repeated the same sentences and same names. The names of those he missed.
I want to go back to Storybrooke, papa. I hate to be here. I want Regina and I want Henry. I miss Timothy, Nelly, Lucas and even Miss Frances from kindergarten.
Roland was only 5 years old, but he was not stupid. He realized his mother didn't like it when he was talking about Regina. That was the reason why the only time when he was speaking about her was when they were together with Robin. Robin tried to comfort him. Tried to explain that they can't go back, because his mama would be sick again if she entered the town. Roland obviously didn't want that, so after three weeks, he calmed down or at least he didn't speak about Storybrooke and the ones whom he missed. He was watching cartoons, he ate his meals and played at the park. He pretended everything was alright. But his father knew nothing was alright. Not just with Roland, but with him either.
When Robin had to comfort Roland, he didn't have to deal with his own feelings. He also wanted to go back. Sometimes he imagined his life in New York was just a bad dream. When he closed his eyes he hoped in the morning he would wake up next to the woman whom he loved. And this flat with Marian just disappeared like it never existed. After that came the self-blame because of Marian. Marian was his wife, he almost died when he lost her and now he can't love her. Robin thought he was a monster, but sometimes it was unbearable when Marian spoke to him. She was nice and patient with Roland, but sometimes said malicious things to the kid. Mama will be sad if you are crying Roland. Marian knew that Roland's stuffed monkey was a gift from Regina and when she saw him playing with it, she said: Don't you wanna play with the toy that mama gave you? When Roland wanted to eat chocolate or ice cream, at first she said: We don't have enough money. But buy the sweetness anyway. Maybe mama and papa will eat only bread, but you have your chocolate, sweetheart.
Robin lost his temper, when Marian put the monkey into the washing machine. The toy looked like it was eaten and thrown out by a dog. Roland was in shock. He started crying, shouting, he threw himself on the ground. Robin has never seen him like this before. He tried to talk to him, hug him, but nothing helped. Roland just yelled. I hate to be here, I hate you. Marian tried also to hush him, but in a way that was not acceptable for Robin. I don't want to do it, but if you don't stop, I'll hit your bottom. Roland was surprised and stopped crying, but Robin was furious. After they put Roland in the bed, he tried to speak with Marian.
"I know five years old can be really difficult, but you can't just threaten him like that. I never ever hit him. He is a child."
That sentence led to other problems, Marian started crying.
"I'm sorry, I don't want to hurt him. I just… I wish I had never returned. Sometimes I want to be dead."
Robin felt miserable, he took her hand under the blanket.
"Don't say that. Roland loves you, you are his mother, he just needs time."
"And you? How much time do you need?"
Marian turned to him and she tried to kiss his neck, but Robin pulled away from her. The room was dark, but Robin could see the disappointment on her face.
"I'll sleep on the couch." She said.
"Marian, wait!" Robin whispered.
"I know you want me to be dead, Robin, don't play with me." Marian answered and went to the other room.
Robin couldn't sleep that night. He was just staring at the ceiling, he wanted to disappear. They behaved with each other in the morning like nothing happened. Days later, when they returned from the park and spent time together almost peacefully, Marian tried to touch him again.
"Be patient for a little bit, please." Robin said and Marian slept on the couch again. Robin lied to her, he couldn't even imagine that he and her…
Sometimes he just stared at his phone. He needed only to push a button and he would have spoken with her. He could've heard her voice, he could've told her he loves her and he couldn't live without her. But he can't do that to her. They can't be together, because Marian can't go back to Storybrooke. His life in New York was the reality. Regina was only a dream. The sweetest, most perfect, most stunning one, but only a dream. Regina deserved to be loved and cherished, she also needs to move on. But Robin didn't want her to move on. He couldn't even imagine her with any other men. He wants to sleep and wake next to her. If Regina wanted to touch her, he would never pull away. He would've kissed every inch on her face and whispered lovely and dirty things to her ear.
Robin thought a lot about their last night together in the vault. That was the best sleep of his life. They were together before, but that night was special. He realized his heart belongs to Regina. That was the night when he fully understood that soulmate thing. Without Regina he can't even breath or exist. It was harder for him day by day and he could see the solution.

Storybrooke
Emma promised Regina she kept the pregnancy a secret. When she went home from the mayor's office her parents were in the kitchen, preparing for dinner. Neal was sleeping in his crib, Henry was at his friend's house, they had to learn for a school project. When Emma took off his jacket and went to the kitchen counter, she saw her mother's face was a little bit nervous. Mary Margaret almost cut off her fingers with the knife instead of the potatoes. David stirred his tea like the spoon or the cup was his enemy.
"Wow, are we preparing for a battle?" Emma laughed.
None of them answered. David looked at her and raised his eyebrow.
"What's going on? Somebody died?" Emma asked.
"Somebody will." David answered. "Your boyfriend."
Emma didn't understand what's going on, she tried to look into her mother's eye, but Mary Margaret was still cutting the potatoes.
"What happened to Killian? Did he cheat in a dice game?" Emma tried to seem reckless, she believed her father already accepted Hook.
Finally Mary Margaret started speaking with a really dramatic voice. "Leroy was here an hour ago."
Emma rolled her eyes, she elbowed on the counter.
"He said he saw you in the drug store and you were buying pregnancy tests."
The spoon stopped in David's fingers and he was staring at her daughter like she killed someone.
"I can't believe this." Emma sighed.
"Yes we also couldn't believe it." Mary Margaret answered. "You and him are not married, Emma. He didn't even ask for your hand from your father. This is the modern world. Do I really have to tell you how many solutions you have to prevent this situation?"
"No please, not in front of me." David said.
"This is a misunderstanding." Emma tried to calm them.
"Really? Did you not buy pregnancy tests?" Mary Margaret asked.
"I did, but I…" Emma couldn't finish her sentence, because her father interrupted.
"You don't have to defend him, Emma. Maybe we are here in Storybrooke, but we are the royal family. This is a crime."
"A what?" Emma almost started laughing. "You can't be serious. I'm almost 31, I already have a son."
"Yes, when you don't know who you are. And poor Neal didn't know either." Mary Margaret spoke, David nodded.
"Okay, guys, I'm sorry but you are ridiculous." Emma started being really furious. This day was a joke. This town is a joke. She is an adult woman in the United States of America and she really can't go to a drug store without a scandal. Leroy is a pain in the ass.
"Are you pregnant?" Mary Margaret asked. David almost dropped the spoon from his hand.
"No, I'm not."
"But you believed you were…?" Mary Margaret continued the interrogation.
"The pirate has to pay. We can see how good he is at sword fighting." David said he didn't even care about Emma's words.
"Wha… what?" Emma looked at her father like he went insane.
"Okay, maybe your father is overreacting but if you two… you know… he has to ask for your hand." Mary Margaret said the judgment.
"Oh and dad is overreacting." Emma laughed.
"This is not funny, Emma!" Mary Margaret's voice was harsh and maybe she would've continued her speech, but Neal started crying. She put down the knife, the potatoes and went to his crib.
"Your mother is right. This is not funny. We have to live according to our traditions and rules."
Emma sighed and shook her head. They were hopeless.
"Well…yes, to be honest I really was in the drug store today, I really bought pregnancy tests, but they were not for me. I swear. You don't have to put Killian under the guillotine or whatever is the execution mode in Fairyland."
"Then who asked you to buy it? For whose sake have you brought shame to our family?" David was really dramatic that evening.
"I promised I wouldn't tell anyone." Emma answered.
"Emma, you can tell us if you bought the pregnancy tests for yourself, we understand it." Mary Margaret started to rock Neal in her arms.
"Do you?" Emma asked ironically.
"Yes, we definitely wouldn't kill Killian, we were just joking."
"Speak for yourself." David said.
"I can't tell you the truth, but you have to trust me. It. Was. Not. My. Pregnancy test." Emma's voice was impatient. She didn't want to continue this dialogue. She wanted to go to Granny and drink a shot. Or two shots.
"Then tell me who needed it, and I promise we wouldn't tell anyone." Emma and even David looked doubtful at Mary Margaret. "What? I can keep secrets."
"We both know you can't, darling, that's the reason we are here in Storybrooke." David chuckled.
"David." Mary Margaret raised her voice. "That was another situation, I was a child and it was a hundred years ago… And why on earth are we speaking about that, when our daughter is in trouble?"
Neal started smiling in his mother's arms, at least someone enjoyed the show.
"I really need a drink." Emma said herself.
"Oh, no, missy, you have to tell us the name, after you can go wherever you want." Mary Margaret turned to her daughter.
"Okay, it was Regina. Regina asked me to buy her the pregnancy test and now I truly understand why. I started to regret that I said no, when Ingrid wanted me to be her family."
Mary Margaret and David were silently blinking at Emma for a second.
"Are you happy? Now I also betrayed her." Emma was really upset.
"Wait. What? Regina is pregnant?" Mary Margaret asked with a confused look on her face.
"Yes she is."
"Now I have to kill Robin Hood." David said smugly. "Where is he living?"
"Why do you want to kill Robin Hood?" That was the moment when Henry arrived home. He only heard his grandfather's last sentence.
"Your mother is pregnant, Henry." Came out of Mary Margaret's mouth.
Emma believed she would faint.
"What?" Henry was in shock and looked at Emma.
"Not me, kid, that's the point why David wants to kill Robin Hood." Emma shook her head.
"Mom is pregnant? That's the reason why she felt sick?" Now Henry seemed to be excited, he was smiling.
"Yes, but this is a secret. OK? I promised Regina I didn't tell anyone, but your grandparents were too… curious." Emma blinked at her parents with a meaningful look.
"I got it, but this is amazing." Henry was over the moon. "Why do you look like this is… I don't know if it's bad? Robin can come back to Storybrooke, this is the happy end…"
"Oh wow, kiddo, wait a minute." Emma waved to her son.
"Yes, Henry, this is not that easy." Mary Margaret said patiently.
"Anyway, I'll be a big brother." Henry smirked.
Neal started to giggle, Mary Margaret looked at David with a proud smile.
"Did you hear it? He is giggling. This is your first giggle, baby." Mary Margaret lifted her son to her face and kissed her chubby cheeks.
"He is happy because he is going to be older than his step-uncle or step-aunt." Henry said.
David stepped behind Mary Margaret and smiled at his son.
"What do you think, Neal, should we put your uncle's or your aunt's father in jail finally because of every robbery he committed?"
"Maybe we can try who is better with arrows, me or him." Mary Margaret babbled to her son.
Henry looked at Emma confused.
"I can't believe that in this world people believe you are singing and dancing with dwarfs." Emma sighed. She really needed those shots.
