Spikemuth Gym Battles (Part Two)
Luna and Piers were walking through Spikemuth towards the Pokemon Center after their battle to get their Pokemon healed. They soon see the rest of Lincoln's group, including Marnie, standing in front of it.
"Hey, dudes!" said Luna.
"How did you do, Luna?" asked Lincoln. Luna smiles as she holds out her Dark Badge.
"Cool!" said Ronnie Anne.
"Congrats, Luna!" said Sam as she hugs Luna and kisses her on the cheek.
"Thanks, everyone." said Luna with a blush.
"You lost, bro?" Marnine asked Piers.
"Yeah." said Piers. "That girl was strong, and a great rocker to boot."
"You know it!" said Luna as she rocks the goat horns.
"Who am I going to battle next?" asked Piers.
"I believe I will." said Lola as she steps forward.
"Wait over on the battlefield and I'll be there when you're ready while I get my Pokemon are healed." said Piers. "The rest of you can find seats so you can watch."
"Thanks, dude." said Sam. Lola goes into the small changing room to get into her gym uniform while Marnie hooks her arm around one of Lincoln's, making him blush, and Ronnie Anne frown as she hooks her arm around Lincoln's other one, and the two girls start leading him to the battle arena while glaring at each other.
"Hope Lincoln will be okay." said Clyde.
"Let's make sure nothing happens to him." said Lola.
"Maybe he'll get kissed some more." said Leni as she and her sisters giggle with delight.
The group reaches the battle arena where Lola heads over to her spot for her battle.
"Not as amazing as the other arenas." said Lola. "And I don't see any TV cameras either."
"So, our families can't see our battles?" asked Lana. Lincoln thinks for a bit before he takes out his Rotom Phone and calls his family in Royal Woods.
"Hi, son!" said Lynn Sr.
"Where are you all at now?" asked Rita.
"We're in Spikemuth City." said Lincoln. "We're doing our gym battles."
"Luna just did hers." said Sam.
"Why didn't we see it on TV?" asked Lynn Jr.
"There aren't any TV cameras here, so they don't really get broadcasted." said Lincoln.
"That is, literally, not fair." said Lori.
"Don't worry." said Lincoln. "I plan on showing you the rest of our battles with my Rotom Phone."
"I guess that'll be just fine." said Rita.
"So, who's battling next?" asked Luan.
"Lola." Lana answered.
"We'll be cheering for her." said Lynn Sr.
"You better!" Lola shouts, making her father recoil in fear.
Twenty minutes later, Luna and Piers come back, with Luna joining her family and friends in the small row of bleachers on the other side of the fence, with Lincoln sitting between Marnie and Ronnie Anne who were holding his arms. Piers walks over to where he was for his battle with Luna and looks at Lola.
"You ready?" asked Piers.
"Bring it on, buster!" said Lola. She and Piers each pull a pokeball off their waists. Piers tosses his, releasing his Scrafty; and Lola throws his, releasing her Ribombee.
"Okay, Ribombee; use Dazzling Gleam!" said Lola. Ribombee releases a massive flash of pink light that washes over Scrafty, dealing a lot of super effective damage; it struggles to stay on its feet.
"Scrafty, use Headbutt!" said Piers. Scrafty runs at Ribombee headfirst and rams her in the chest.
"How dare you!" said Lola. "Ribombee, use Draining Kiss!" Her Ribombee flies over to Scrafty and kisses it on the forehead, draining its remaining stamina that's used to heal some of Ribombee's wounds, and knocking Scrafty out.
"Way to go, Lola!" said Sam.
"You got this!" said Lana.
"What do you expect from Ms. Opal's chosen successor?" asked Lola as she whips her hair back.
"So, she's finally found one, has she?" asked Piers.
"Yes, and she couldn't have picked better." said Lola.
"Keep it up, sweetie!" said Rita.
Piers returns his Scrafty to its pokeball; he then puts it back on his waist and pulls another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Malamar.
"Ribombee, use Pollen Puff!" said Lola. Ribombee creates a purple ball of pollen and tosses it at Malamar, dealing a lot of super effective damage due to it being a combination of two Pokemon vulneable to bug type moves.
"Not good." said Piers. "Malamar, use Slash!" Malamar swings one of its tentacles at Ribombee, slashing her across the chest, dealing damage.
"Ribombee, use Draining Kiss again!" said Lola. Ribombee flies over to Malamar and kisses it, once again draining her opponent's remaining stamina, healing herself, and knocking Malamar out.
"Awesome!" said Clyde.
"If Lola keeps this up, she'll definitely sweep Piers' team." said Ronnie Anne as she smirks at Marnie who frowns at her before she smirks and kisses Lincoln on the cheek.
"You're doing great, sweetie!" said Rita. Piers returns his Malamar to its pokeball.
"Rest up, Malamar." said Piers. He puts Malamar's pokeball back on his waist before pulling another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Skuntank.
"Skuntank is part poison, so bug and fairy type moves won't be as effective as they were against Piers last two Pokemon." said Lincoln.
"Not a problem for me." said Lola. "Ribombee, use Dazzling Gleam!" Her Ribombee releases another blast of pink light that washes over Skuntank, not doing as much damage as it did to Scrafty.
"Skuntank, use Flamethrower!" said Piers. His Skuntank releases a powerful stream of fire at Ribombee, hitting her, and dealing super effective damage; parts of Ribombee's body catch on fire.
"Not good." said Clyde. "Ribombee's burned!"
"Ribombee, use Aromatherapy!" said Lola. Ribombee releases green pollen from her wings that washes over her, extinguishing the fire, curing her of her burn.
"Nice move, Lols!" said Luna.
"But it won't help you with this." said Piers. "Skuntank, use Venoshock!" His Skuntank releases a spray of purple poisonous liquid from its tail that washes over Ribombee, dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Ribombee!" shouts Lola.
"Bogus, dude." said Luna.
"Poor Ribombee." said Lori.
"Don't take that, Lola!" said Lynn Jr. Lola returns her Ribombee to her pokeball.
"You were wonderful, my sweet Ribombee." said Lola. She puts Ribombee's pokeball back on her waist and glares fiercely at Piers, making him nervous.
"Uh oh." said Lincoln. "Piers just made Lola mad."
"How bad can she be?" asked Marnie as she nuzzles Lincoln's shoulders. She hears Lincoln's other sisters' shudder, making her look to see scared looks on their faces.
"You don't know what sis is capable of." said Luna.
"HOW DARE YOU HURT MY RIBOMBEE!" shouts Lola, scaring Piers and Skuntank. She takes a pokeball off her waist and tosses it, releasing her Primarina. "Primarina, use Sparkling Aria and don't hold back!" Primarina lets out a beautiful and loud melody which creates a lot of bubbles that rocket at Skuntank, hitting it, and dealing a good amount of damage, thanks partly to her Mystic Water.
"Skuntank, use Venoshock again!" said Piers. Skuntank releases another blast of poisonous liquid that hits Primarina, dealing super effective damage.
"Big mistake, buster!" shouts Lola. "Primarina, use Hyper Voice!" Her Primarina lets out a loud, but beautiful, soundwave that hits Skuntank, sending it flying past Piers and into the surrounding fence, knocking it out. Orange energy surrounds the unconscious Skuntank and it bursts, hitting Primarina, and dealing damage due to Skuntank's Aftermath ability.
"One more to go, Lola!" said Leni.
"You can do it!" said Clyde.
"I love that Primarina." said Lori.
"She's a beautiful singer." said Rita. Piers returns his Skuntank to its pokeball.
"Chill for a bit, Skuntank." said Piers. He puts Skuntank's pokeball back on his waist and pulls another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Obstagoon.
"Primarina, use Moonblast!" said Lola. Primarina creates a ball of pink energy and launches it at Obstagoon, hitting it, dealing super effective damage.
"Obstagoon, use Take Down!" said Piers. Obstagoon charges at Primarina and rams full force into her, dealing damage, and taking some itself due to the recoil of the attack. A blue aura surges up from Primarina.
"That's Primarina's Torrent ability!" said Clyde.
"Primarina, use Sparkling Aria again!" said Lola. Primarina releases another barrage of bubbles that was powered up by Torrent, hitting Obstagoon with enough power to knock it out.
"She did it!" cheered Leni.
"I knew she could do it." said Lucy.
"We all did, sweetie!" Rita said.
"Lola for the win!" said Lynn Jr. Piers sighs before he returns his Obstagoon to its pokeball.
"Thanks for trying, Obstagoon." said Piers. He puts Obstagoon's pokeball back on his waist and walks over to Lola. "You're a fierce little challenger."
"That's the understatement of the year." said Luna. Piers reaches into his pocket and pulls out a Dark Badge.
"Since you beat me, you get the Dark Badge." said Piers as he hands Lola her prize, along with some pokedollars.
"Next time you'll know better than to hurt my cute little fairy Pokemon!" said Lola, making Piers recoil before he looks at the rest of Lincoln's group.
"Who am I challenging next?" asked Piers.
"Ooh! Me!" said Lana.
"Fine." said Piers. "Get ready while I get my Pokemon treated."
"I'll get my Pokemon treated also." said Lola. Lana goes into the changing room and gets into her gym uniform; after that, she waits in the battle area for Piers to return. Moments later, Piers returns and walks to an end of the battle arena opposite of where Lana is standing.
"You ready?" asked Piers, taking out a pokeball.
"You know it." replied Lana, taking out a pokeball.
"Scrafty, go!" said Piers, throwing Scrafty's pokeball and releasing it.
"Let's go, Salazzle!" said Lana, throwing Salazzle's pokeball and releasing her. Scrafty glares at Salazzle, making her nervous, and lowering her attack strength due to Scrafty's Intimidate ability.
"Scrafty, Fake Out!" said Piers. Scrafty jumps in front of Salazzle and claps its hands together, unleashing a shockwave that hits Salazzle, dealing damage to her, and making her flinch. "Now use Crunch!" Scrafty bites Salazzle, dealing damage, and weakening her defense.
"Salazzle, Poison Fang!" said Lana. Salazzle runs at Scrafty while her fangs glowed purple and bites Scrafty, dealing damage; it turned purple under Scrafty's eyes.
"Scrafty's poisoned." said Lincoln. Scrafty coughs and loses stamina from its poisoning.
"Scrafty, Payback!" said Piers. Scrafty releases black streams of energy from its body, and they hit Salazzle, dealing more damage than it normally would due to Payback's power doubling when Scrafty was damaged before it was used.
"Salazzle, Venoshock!" said Lana. Salazzle unleashes a purple glob of liquid out of her mouth, and it hits Scrafty, dealing more damage due to Venoshock doing more damage to a poisoned opponent. Scrafty coughs and loses stamina from its poisoning.
"Scrafty, Headbutt!" said Piers. Scrafty runs at Salazzle and rams its head against her, dealing more damage than it normally would due to her weakened defense, knocking her out.
"Whoa; not good." said Luna.
"Don't give up, Lana!" said Leni.
"Yeah; you can turn this around!" said Lynn Jr.
"We believe in you!" said Luan. Lana returns Salazzle to her pokeball.
"You did your best, Salazzle." said Lana. She puts Salazzle's pokeball and pulls out another. "Go, Garbador!" She throws Garbodor's pokeball and releases him. "Garbodor, Sludge Bomb!" Garbodor fires a brown ball of sludge out of its mouth, and it hits Scrafty, dealing damage Scrafty flinches from Garbodor's Stench ability; it then coughs from his poisoning.
"Now use Body Slam!" said Lana. Garbodor jumps up and lands on Scrafty, knocking it out.
"Great job, Lana!" said Clyde.
"You can do it!" said Sam.
"We know you can." said Lucy from beside Sam, scaring her.
"Keep it up!" said Lori. Piers returns Scrafty to its pokeball.
"You did good, Scrafty." said Piers. He puts Scrafty's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Malamar, go!" He throws Malamar's pokeball and releases it. "Malamar, Psycho Cut!" The end of Malamar's tentacles becomes surrounded by light purple energy and it swings its tentacle at Garbodor, hitting him, and dealing super effective damage.
"Garbodor, Acid Spray!" said Lana. Garbodor sprays a purple liquid out of his mouth, and it hits Malamar, dealing damage to it.
"Malamar, Psybeam!" said Piers. Malamar fires a multicolored beam of energy out of its eyes, and it hits Garbodor, dealing super effective damage.
"Garbodor, Gunk Shot!" said Lana. Garbodor forms a black garbage bag surrounded by purple energy between his hands; he launches it at Malamar, hitting it, and dealing damage; it flinches from Garbodor's Stench ability. "Now use Body Slam!" Garbodor jumps up and lands on Malamar, damaging it; Malamar begins to twitch.
"I think Malamar's paralyzed." said Lincoln.
"Malamar, Night Slash!" said Piers. Malamar fights through its paralysis and surrounds an end of its tentacle with dark energy; it slashes Garbodor with it, knocking him out.
"Ooh, that was brutal." said Lynn Jr.
"You can do it, Lana; keep going." said Luan.
"Go, Wana!" said Lily. Lana nods before returning Garbodor to his pokeball.
"Don't worry; you still smell bad and that's what's really important." said Lana. She puts Garbodor's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Seismitoad, go!" She throws Seismitoad's pokeball and releases him. "Seismitoad, Bubble Beam!" Seismitoad releases a beam of glowing bubbles from his mouth, and they hit Malamar, damaging it.
"Use Foul Play!" said Piers. Unfortunately, paralysis stops Malamar from attacking.
"Seismitoad, Acid!" said Lana. Seismitoad fires a stream of black liquid from his mouth, and it hits Malamar, knocking it out.
"Good job, Lana!" said Luna.
"Keep it up!" said Lola. Piers returns Malamar to its pokeball.
"You did great, Malamar." said Piers. He puts Malamar's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Skuntank, go!" He throws Skuntank's pokeball and releases it. "Skuntank, Sucker Punch!" Skuntank pounces at Seismitoad and strikes him with its paw, damaging him.
"Seismitoad, Mud Shot!" said Lana. Seismitoad fires a glob of mud out of his mouth, and it hits Skuntank, dealing super effective damage to it, and lowering its speed.
"Skuntank, Poison Gas!" said Piers. Skuntank releases a purple gas from its mouth, and it hits Seismitoad; it turned purple under his eyes.
"Seismitoad's poisoned." said Clyde.
"Seismitoad, Echoed Voice!" said Lana. Seismitoad lets out a yell that releases soundwaves onto Skuntank, dealing damage to it.
"Skuntank, Venoshock!" said Piers. Skuntank fire a purple glob of liquid out of its mouth, and it hits Seismitoad, dealing more damage due to him being poisoned. Seismitoad coughs from his poisoning.
"Seismitoad, use Echoed Voice again!" said Lana. Seismitoad lets out a louder yell, releasing soundwaves much stronger than the first one, and they hit Skuntank, dealing damage to it.
"Skuntank, Night Slash!" said Piers. Skuntank's front paw becomes surrounded by black energy and it claws Seismitoad with it, damaging him. Seismitoad loses more stamina from his poisoning.
"Echoed Voice again, Seismitoad!" said Lana. Seismitoad lets out an even louder yell, releasing soundwaves that shook the battle arena, hitting Skuntank, and knocking it out; orange energy surrounds Skuntank and it explodes over Seismitoad, knocking him out.
"Oh man; they're both down to one Pokemon." said Lincoln.
"The next battle will determine the victor." said Lisa.
"Lana can do it!" said Lynn Jr.
"We know she can!" said Lynn Sr. Lana returns Seismitoad to his pokeball while Pier returns Skuntank to its pokeball.
"You were great out there, Seismitoad." said Lana.
"You too, Skuntank." said Piers. They both put their pokeballs away and pulled out another one. "You're doing all right; but you still have to beat my last Pokemon. Obstagoon, go!" He throws Obstagoon's pokeball and releases it.
"Let's go, Sandaconda!" said Lana, throwing Sandaconda's pokeball and releasing her.
"Obstagoon, Shadow Claw!" said Piers. Obstagoon runs at Sandaconda while gray energy surrounds its claws, and it clawed Sandaconda.
"Use Dig!" said Lana. Sandaconda digs herself into the ground. Obstagoon looks around for Sandaconda; she bursts out of the ground and rams Obstagoon, knocking him back.
"Obstagoon, Snarl!" said Piers. Obstagoon releases purple rings of energy that hits Sandaconda, dealing damage.
"Sandaconda, Headbutt!" said Lana. Sandaconda leaps at Obstagoon and rams her head into it, dealing damage, and making it flinch. "Now use Bulldoze!" Sandaconda slams the top of her onto the ground, releasing yellow shockwaves at Obstagoon, dealing damage to it.
"Obstagoon, Throat Chop!" said Piers. Obstagoon leaps at Sandaconda while its paw becomes surrounded by purple energy.
"Sandaconda, Coil!" said Lana. Sandaconda's coils her body tightly, and her attack, defense, and accuracy increase before Obstagoon strikes her, but not dealing much damage due to her increased defense. "Now use Slam!" Sandaconda's tail rises up and it slams onto Obstagoon, knocking it out.
"Lana did it!" said Lincoln.
"She sure did." said Lola.
"Man, that was intense." said Lynn Jr.
"Yes; Piers isn't to be taken lightly." said Rita. Piers returns Obstagoon to its pokeball.
"You did good, Obstagoon." said Piers. He puts Obstagoon's pokeball away and walks over to Lana. "You did okay, Lana."
"Yeah; it was a close battle." replied Lana. Piers reaches into her pocket and pulls out a Dark Badge, as well as pokedollars.
"Because you beat me, I reward you with the Dark Badge." said Piers, holding out the Dark Badge and pokedollars, which Lana takes.
"Yeah! The Dark Badge is mine!" said Lana. Piers turned towards the rest of the group.
"Which of you will face me, next?" asked Piers.
"I, totes, will." replied Leni.
"Just let me get my Pokemon healed; when I get back, we'll have our battle." said Piers. He and Lana walk away to get their Pokemon treated while Leni walks onto the battle arena.
The twins have beaten Piers and earned their Dark Badges. Will Leni be able to win one as well? Wait and find out.
