Solaceon Town
Lincoln's group soon arrives at Solaceon Town for Stella and Dawn's next Pokemon Contest.
"Let's hurry and get signed up!" said Dawn.
"We should find out where the Contest Hall is first." suggested Lincoln.
The group ask around and find someone who gave them directions to the Solaceon Contest Hall which was easy enough to find. When they reach it, they all go inside, and Stella and Dawn head over to the front hall and sign up.
"The contest will begin tomorrow." said the receptionist.
"Thank you." Stella and Dawn say in unison.
"So what do you guys want to do for the rest of the day?" asked Lincoln.
"Let's look around town for a while." said Stella as she hooks one of her arms around one of Lincoln's while Dawn does the same.
"That sounds like a good idea." said Clyde.
"Hey, Dee-Dee." a familiar voice calls out, making Dawn pout. Everyone looks to see Kenny walking over to them.
"Kenny?" Dawn says to her childhood rival.
"What are you doing here?" asked Stella.
"Same thing you two are here for." said Kenny.
"The Pokemon Contest." said Dawn.
"Gold star for you, Dee-Dee." said Kenny.
"But until then, we're just gonna look around and see what this town is like." said Lincoln.
"Mind if I join you?" asked Kenny.
"Probably." said Dawn as she glares at Kenny.
The group, along with Kenny, start to give themselves a tour of Solaceon Town. They see a large, fenced-off, area that had several young Pokemon playing around in it.
"What's this place?" asked Stella.
"This is the Solaceon Day Care Center." said a woman who was standing in front of a small house that's connected to the fence.
"A daycare for Pokemon?" asked Luna.
"Some trainers leave their Pokemon here for the staff to watch over and train for them." said the woman.
"Seems kind of lazy of them to do that." said Stella.
"Well, that's how some people are I guess." said the woman. The group looks at all the daycare's Pokemon for a while before they move on to something else. As they looked around, Lincoln sees what appears to be a large temple far from Solaceon Town.
"What's that?" asked Lincoln, pointing at the temple.
"That's the Solaceon Ruins." replied Kenny.
"You think we can check it out?" asked Stella.
"Sure; people do it lots of times." said Kenny. The group begin walking towards the ruins and they reached it. Once inside, they walked around and began to explore the area. Clyde walks to a wall and looked at the symbols that were carved into it.
"What do you think these symbols mean?" asked Clyde.
"Not sure." replied Kenny. He turned towards Lincoln. "Hey, Lincoln; don't you enter Pokemon Contests?"
"No; I'm challenging Pokemon Gyms so I can compete in the Sinnoh League." replied Lincoln.
"Are you a strong trainer?" asked Kenny.
"Of course he is." replied Stella, wrapping her arms around Lincoln, making Dawn frown.
"How about a Pokemon battle with me then?" asked Kenny.
"How come?" asked Sam.
"To see if my Pokemon need more training for the next time I'm on the battle stage of a Pokemon contest." replied Kenny.
"Sure, okay." replied Lincoln. Moments later, Lincoln and Kenny were standing several yards from each other while the rest of Lincoln's group watched. "How many Pokemon are we using?"
"Does one sound okay?" asked Kenny.
"Sounds okay to me." replied Lincoln. He and Kenny each pull out a pokeball.
"Breloom, go!" said Kenny, throwing a pokeball and releasing a bipedal, mushroom-like Pokemon with a green mushroom cap on top of its beige head, a beige neck and tail, a green lower body and hands with two red claws on the ends of them, as well as its feet.
"What's that?" asked Sam as she takes out her pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Breloom, the Mushroom Pokemon and the evolved form of Shroomish. Its short arms stretch when it throws punches. Its technique is equal to that of pro boxers." said Sam's pokedex.
"Go, Dragonair!" said Lincoln, throwing Dragonair's pokeball and releasing her.
"No way! You have a Dragoinair?!" asked Kenny.
"You bet." replied Lincoln.
"Breloom, use Mach Punch!" said Kenny. Breloom runs at Dragonair while one of its hands glowed blue, and it punches her, dealing damage.
"Dragonair, use Twister!" said Lincoln. Dragonair waves her tail and releases a tornado from it, and it hits Breloom, knocking it back.
"Breloom, Stun Spore!" said Kenny. Breloom shakes its body and releases an orange powder from it onto Dragonair; she begins to twitch.
"Oh no; Dragonair's paralyzed." said Dawn.
"It's not that bad." replied Lincoln. Dragonair's body begins to shine.
"What's going on?" asked Kenny.
"Dragonair's Marvel Scale ability is what's going on." replied Lincoln. "Her defense increases when she has a status condition."
"Your Dragonair's still paralyzed." said Kenny.
"We won't let that stop us; Dragonair, Slam!" said Lincoln. Dragonair fights through her paralysis and smashes her tail onto Breloom, damaging it.
"Breloom, use Headbutt!" said Kenny. Breloom runs at Dragonair and rams its head against her, but not doing much damage due to her defense being increased.
"Dragonair, Dragon Tail!" said Lincoln. Unfortunately, paralysis stops Dragonair from attacking.
"Breloom, Force Palm!" said Kenny. Breloom jumps at Dragonair and thrusts its palm against her, but not dealing much damage.
"Try using Dragon Tail again!" said Lincoln. Dragonair fights through her paralysis and leaps at Breloom while her tail is glowing green and she smashes it onto Breloom, knocking it out.
"Way to go, little bro!" said Sam.
"That was rad!" said Luna. Kenny returns Breloom to its pokeball.
"It's okay, Breloom; we'll train harder." said Kenny. He puts Breloom's pokeball away. Dawn runs to Lincoln from behind and wraps her arms around his shoulders.
"You were great, Lincoln." said Dawn, making Lincoln blush while Stella and Kenny growl.
"What's with you, Kenny?" asked Sam.
"N-Nothing." Kenny replied as he blushes while taking a quick look at Dawn; he takes a deep breath and walks over to Lincoln.
"You're a strong trainer, Lincoln." said Kenny as he gives Lincoln pokedollars.
"Thanks, Kenny." said Lincoln.
"Now I know I can win the Solaceon Contest; because if I can hold my own against you, then battling Dee-Dee and Stella on the battle stage will be a breeze." said Kenny.
"Hey!" exclaimed Stella and Dawn in unison. After Lincoln returns Dragonair to her pokeball, the group continued to explore the rest of the ruins. Moments later, they were in the last room.
"Well, this is the last room; not much to see." said Simon.
"Not really." replied Lincoln, walking over to what appeared to be a purple incense burner on the ruin floor and picks it up. "I've heard of this; it's an Odd Incense."
"I've heard of that in Pokemon School." said Clyde. "It boosts the power of psychic type attacks of the Pokemon holding it."
"I'm definitely going to give this to Espeon." said Lincoln. He lets his Espeon out of his pokeball and has him hold the Odd Incense; he then returns Espeon and the group starts to make their way out of the ruins.
"We should head back to the Pokemon Center and get some dinner." said Luna.
"Yeah, I am getting a little hungry." said Clyde. Simon looks at the strange symbols on the wall and notices that one of them was a different color than the others; as he gets a closer look, the eye-like part of the symbol suddenly blinks, surprising him.
"What the..." Simon exclaimed, getting everyone's attention.
"What's up, little bro?" asked Sam. She and the rest of the group look at the symbol and it peels itself off the wall.
"Is that a Pokemon?" asked Clyde. Lincoln takes out his pokedex, and points it at the strange, symbol-like, creature.
"Unown, the Symbol Pokemon. They seem to communicate among each other telepathically. They are always found stuck on walls." said Lincoln's pokedex.
"Whoa, check that out!" said Luna as she directs everyone's attention to a nearby wall; they watch as several of the symbols come off the wall, revealing them to be Unown.
"Look at them all." said Clyde.
"They look different from each other." said Lincoln.
"What do they want?" asked Clyde as the Unown floated around the group. Suddenly, their eyes glowed red and they fired similar-colored energy beams from their eyes.
"Watch out!" shouted Lincoln as he and the others dive to the ground, making the beams miss them and hit the floor, causing an explosion.
"Why are they attacking us?" asked Stella.
"We must be trespassing." said Sam.
"Let's hurry and get out of here!" said Clyde. The group start running up the stairs towards the surface while the Unown continued firing energy blasts at them.
"If they want to attack us, then we should defend ourselves at least." said Lincoln as he takes out his Hisuian Zorua's pokeball and lets her out of it. "My pokedex says these guys are psychic types, so Zorua should have an advantage.
"I'm with you, Lincoln!" said Sam as she lets out her Kricketune. Luna lets out her Rotom, Clyde lets out his Ninjask, Stella lets out her Beautifly, Simon lets out his Gible, and Dawn lets out her Buneary.
"Zorua, use Bitter Malice!" said Lincoln. Zorua's eyes glowed blue as a wavy vortex of dark blue flame appears under some of the Unown and washes over them, dealing super effective damage, and knocking them out. A few of them fired energy blasts at her, but they went through her.
"Kricketune, use Fury Cutter!" said Sam. Kricketune starts slashing at a few Unown, dealing super effective damage.
"Ninjask, you use Fury Cutter also!" said Clyde. His Ninjask flies at an Unown and slashes them as well, dealing super effective damage.
"Rotom, use Astonish!" said Luna. Rotom looks away from some incoming Unown, then turns back towards them quickly, startling them and making them crash into each other, knocking them to the ground.
"Beautifly, use Bug Bite!" said Stella. Her Beautifly flies at one of the Unown and jabs it with her proboscis, dealing super effective damage.
"Gible, use Bite!" said Simon. His Gible bites down on an Unown, dealing super effective damage.
"Buneary, use Quick Attack!" said Dawn. Her Buneary moves quickly at an Unown and slams into it, knocking it back; as it does, it fires an energy beam at the ceiling, causing large chunks of stone to fall towards Stella.
"Watch out!" shouts Lincoln as he grabs Stella and dives to the ground while holding her, with her being on top of Lincoln.
"Thanks, Lincoln." said Stella. Lincoln looks angrily at the Unown.
"You know, you don't have to attack us!" said Lincoln.
"We were going to leave anyway!" said Luna. The Unown looked at each other and nod before most of them floated off back deeper into the ruins.
"That was close." said Lincoln. He then blushes when he realized that Stella was still on top of him.
"You can get off Lincoln now." said Dawn with a frown, making Stella smirk and nuzzle Lincoln's chest, making him blush some more, and Luna and Sam giggle a bit. Simon then notices some Unown watching what was going on with glowing blue eyes.
"What's with them?" asked Simon. They all watched as ten Unown lined up, side-by-side with each other.
"What are they doing?" asked Luna.
"Hey, I just noticed they kind of look like letters." said Sam.
"Looks like they're spelling something." said Clyde. They all get a close look and most of them laugh when they see they were spelling...
'STELLACOLN'
"It's a sign, Lincoln." said Stella as she kisses Lincoln on the cheek. After Stella helps Lincoln to his feet, she grabs his hand and they both start walking out of the ruins, with Dawn growling at her.
Later, at the Solaceon Town Pokemon Center, the group were telling Lincoln and Luna's family about their day, including visiting the Lost Tower and telling them what it was.
"Lucky." muttered Lucy. They also tell the Louds about the Solaceon Ruins; Stella mentioned what the Unowns spelled out, making Lincoln and Luna's sisters squeal and Dawn frown.
"Tomorrow's the Solaceon Pokemon Contest." said Stella.
"We'll be sure to let your parents know, Stella." said Rita. After talking for a few minutes, the group ended the call.
"Well, let's get some sleep; I'll need to be fully rested for the Solaceon Contest so I can win it." said Stella.
"You mean lose after I beat you and win it myself." replied Dawn; she and Stella glare at each other. Soon, Lincoln, Clyde, and Simon went to a room they were sharing while Sam, Luna, Stella, and Dawn went to another; minutes later, they were sound asleep.
Tomorrow will be the day of the Solaceon Pokemon Contest. Will Stella or Dawn win? Wait and find out.
