I was going to love being a vet so much, I loved animals and seeing them hurt was just awful. Plus I knew with Jared by my side we would be the best duo ever. He was really amazing to me, we were walking around like we always do looking to help animals in need. "I honestly hope we don't find anything for once" I said. "Me too but that is not always the case" he said. "Well at least it gives us something to do and let's me practice" I said. "You love don't need the practice" he said giving me a kiss. I mean could he be anymore perfect I didn't think so, we walked hand in hand and heard a cry for help. We both ran over we didn't know what we were walking into. "Oh thank goodness can you help please" a lady said and we both looked around, there was a dog just laying there. I ran up to him, "is this your dog?" I asked, "no I um hit him by accident, ugh I didn't see him" she said. "It's okay you at least stopped and confessed your mistake" Jared said. I didn't feel the same way she was obviously going too fast and this poor dog was now hurt, I did everything I could for now. "Jared he needs to get to the vet" I said, "okay let's go" he said carefully grabbing the dog and we managed to get him to the vet, the same one I was doing my practicum at so I was allowed to go back and help. It took us over 2 hours but we managed to get the dog stable and he was recovering, I came out and Jared had found the owners. "He is stable and going to be okay" I said, "thank you" a woman said hugging me, the one who hit him was also there.
I mean sure she fessed up to her mistake but how fast was she going, and she was just lucky we were able to save the dog. I saw her pull out her credit card. That was really big of her she was paying the vet fees for the other lady, "I am so sorry I hit your dog, I should have been more careful, let me pay the bill" she said. "Oh um thank you" the woman said in between sobs, it was really big of her. With the vet bill paid we took her back to see her dog and the woman who hit him left. I guess it was an alright day, Jared and I also left, and we saw a truck speeding down the road, they were the ones who hit dogs! I mean slow down, the roads are not a raceway, ugh so many people get hurt driving too fast. It was not just pets it was other people too, I hated speeders. "Holy crap" Jared said running towards the truck, it had rear ended another one, and it was a transport van. "Oh no my baby is in there" we heard. "Like a human baby?" I asked, "oh um no I deliver for a zoo here, I have a baby Koala in there" she said, "is there any way to get in from the front?" I asked. "No" she said, and I knew Jared and I were in the same wavelength we needed to check on that baby Koala. The lady proved she was legit, and she really was just taking it back to the zoo. It had been separated from its mom and now it was probably so scared, Jared and I tried everything to pry it open. It was to tight, the firefighters finally arrived and even though they wanted to help the human patient who hit the van we had them open the door for us. I climbed inside and was able to check the Koala, other than being scared he seemed to be okay, he hugged me. I mean how cute was he? "He is okay" I said, "oh thank you" she said taking him into the front with her and taking him back to the zoo. I did hope he was able to get reunited with his mom.
I had like 4 more years of school left, but next year I was going to transfer to Adventure Bay, I was going to learn the rest from my grandma. I was excited she was the reason I wanted to become a vet in the first place, and my school agreed I could do the courses online and do my practicum with her. She would just need to update them on my progress, plus Jared agreed to come with me he said he would follow me anywhere. We were also trying to help Max and Klea find a house, we were all going to live in it together. We headed back home, Aria was already there but she seemed sad, "you okay?" I asked, "yeah I just I might be rethinking my whole schooling" she said, "awe no don't do that you will be a great doctor" I said, "I know but like I miss Max way too much" she said. "You have this year right? then you are in practicum maybe you can ask to be in Adventure Bay hospital?" I said, "I already put it on my list it was my first choice, I just hope I get it. They only take one student and I just feel like others applied too" she said. "I will put in a good word for you. I know a few doctors there plus my cousin aunt is a doctor there too" I said. "Thanks Riley" Aria said hugging me, we watched some more of greys anatomy it was Aria's favorite show and it wasn't bad as we waited for Max to call. He was probably working on a case, I mean bad stuff seemed to follow my cousin around. I couldn't even begin to tell you how many times he was kidnapped, he had like 9 lives, Max was like a cat. This made me laugh and Jared looked at me, "its nothing" I said and he kissed me, I felt bad doing this in front of Aria so we went to our room. Plus I knew Hunter and Piper were going to be back soon.
We all seemed to be happy, and I felt bad for Aria the long-distance sucks, and especially for her she had like 8 more years of school, but she was going to be a great doctor. I called my aunt and told her and she promised to put in a good word but she seemed said, she told me she was fine but I could hear the stress in her voice. I called my dad and he told me that her department she worked in was struggling and they were closing the psych department. This meant my aunt Cassie might he losing her job, that sucked she was a good doctor. I remember her helping out people who were a lost cause and ugh I hoped they were able to figure it out. I knew it would affect little Ryder a lot too, he was doing so much better with Matt. I knew is she lost her job she would not be able to keep him employed, this made me sad. I needed to get home more and more plus I knew Josh was struggling too, he missed basketball even if he never admitted it. When he blew out his knee his dream died and I feel for him he still hasn't fully recovered from that and he will never play again. Getting back to Adventure Bay was a must for me and soon, it seemed like my family was falling apart. I probably wouldn't be able to fix much but I was sure as hell going to try!
