Late August 1985

It was hot ...totally normal for one summer day, scream of my brother Alexander woke me up from a dream, I wanted in that moment take my notebook and write him down to shut up but I didn't because I was still half awake, after few minutes of rubbing my eyes I noticed we are driving in car which was heading in unknown direction ...

"Is it possible someone got us out from that lake?"

I thought in myself when I heard my brother's yelling again

"Let us out!!...you kidnappers!!"

My brother yelled out loud how they would let us out of car, I look at front seats of car where man and woman were siting who were unknown to us.

"Calm down son ..just little bit and we will arrive on our destination .."

Said man who was driving a car

"Dear...I think Alexander is behaving that way because of moving, you know how all kids are like that.."

Said woman who was siting next to man, from the other side Alexander started yelling and shouting on those two people in front of us, according to their faces they were in shock and tried ignore my brother who just continued yelling at them

"About which moving you are taking about?...this is kidnapping, imediately let me and my sister out!!"

Alexander says loudly while almost losing his voice, man and woman on front seats just looked at each other not saying anything, on that moment I feel scared too and then man's voice could be heard

"Honey ..remind me when we arrive in Pripyat to find good doctor for our son.."

When we heard where are we going me and Alexander stayed in shock also I could see panic in eyes of my brother who just stared in two people on front seats..

"Did ...you ...said P...Pripyat?"

Alexander bealry asks with weak voice while woman turned her head to us and looked us with motherly face ..

"That is right kids, your father got transferred on work in that town that is why we are moving there and please be good I know this is not easy for you but you will soon find new friends there.."

Woman says with warm voice ..but that couldn't calm my brother because he was too much mad and scared for calming his head down ..

"Oh no!...no way you are taking me in that damn nuclear wasteland full of radiation ...just you wait for mom to find out, you will be screwed soo bad!"

Man and his wife could just laugh while my brother was not in mood for laughing and jokes ...

"It is not funny ... power plant exploded there before 35 years ago...THIS IS SERIOUS!! "

While my brother was complaining and trying explain facts about that nuclear accident I noticed calendar on floor of car, I carefully took it and saw different date and year even month was not correct while calendar was also looked old fashioned, just like one on the old photo where our mom was standing like kid ...and then it clicked to me ...we are in year 1985 like it was written on calendar ..

Alexander quickly noticed my frozen face while I was staring at calendar, when he saw date he too fall in state of shock after that he stopped with his "rebelion" and sit back on his side of back seat and then it was pretty silent..

After few minutes of silence man from front seat for whom woman said that he was our father break silence

"Kids we are almost there, just few minutes until first buildings ."

In that moment I peeked trough car window and noticed we passed next to town's sign which was standing not that far away from town, Alexander was sinking deeper into his seat feeling like dumb pumpkin because he cause scene but according to his eyes I could feel he will very soon made similar scene again and emberass himself.

How minutes passed by we were slowly coming to bridge underneath which was railway also in that same moment train was passing underneath us, I wanted so badly take picture of it with my phone but I couldn't because...I didn't want anyone looking at me strange, for difference of my brother if I got stuck already in another time it is better to fit in than receiving weird looks also it must be reason why we ended up here ...

"Oh great I could casually threw myself from bridge of death if we stopped now ..."

Alexander says as we are exiting bridge and after minute of ride I could see first residential buildings already...also there was little park with few trees underneath which some people were siting on blankets and hanged out, I didn't until now know how everything was so beutifull before accident with reactor happened, also I almost never saw Pripyat in state before accident, everything was so different from pictures I saw of that town for first time, on that pictures I could see just sad and depressive site of abandoned city frozen in time and forgotten while it was hidden in trees, how we slowly entering in town Alexander was completely frozen like statue he didn't even flinch when words od woman from front seat were heard

"Welcome to our new home.."

She says calmly ...while I could just watch at once happy place which is in our real time called town of ghosts ...
