Hello all,
The dreaded author's note update.
So, yeah, my wrist is still recovering from having inflamed thumb Tendons, but that is not the only reason for my lack of updating Bearer of the Light or my other fics lately.
To be honest, I've kinda burned myself out on writing in general.
Little background history as to how this happened:
Back in late 2020, I was in a bad place; I had been diagnosed with Severe Asthma and was unable to work, and also this was at the height of the COVID pandemic. I had published my first fic, "Phantasia," but then in November, I published 'Bearer of the Light,' and primarily, this was used as a sort of relaxation to get my mind off of things. It was nice and did its job.
Fast forward to 2024, where I have a full-time job now and mostly only seem to write during my lunch hours to take a break from the Excel worksheets and the like... and until recently, that's when I noticed that I *ONLY* seemed to be writing during that time.
Suffice it to say that my brain started to think that the only time I should be writing is when I'm effectively 'getting' paid to do so. I'm not doing it for fun anymore.
I am trying to correct this, but it's going to take some time. And I am sorry about this.
What does that mean for my fics? Nothing abandoned, of course. I would not do that to anyone who has been enjoying my work during the last four years. But it means some will not be updated in a timely manner, like my more complex storylines.
Aka Bearer's next chapter is going on hold for much longer than anticipated.
Chapter 63 is currently about 2k words, so a good amount has been written. But for the release? I am still not sure when. And forcing myself to write it will only give a subpar product, which none of you deserve as my loyal readers.
That being said, I am currently working on 'Let is All Out' Chapter 7, and then I will focus on the next Witness reaction fic chapter for the anniversary of Bearer. What happens after that? I don't think there will be any chapters released before the new year.
Once again, I apologize for this and thank you for your continued support.
~~ Grim
