Gate thus the Tenno fought there
ESKK: Here we go time to begin chapter 4 now let's get thing started.
(Start Inn The Rose Knights)
In an inn at a nearby village marry making was seen as one of the barmaids, a survivor of Calma Village, was regaling the patrons with the story of the Tenno driving off the Flame Dragon. "WHAT?!" One man gasped in shock at what he heard.
"They drove away a Flame Drago!?" His friends followed as the barmaid finished her story.
"That's right they sure did." The Barmaid said while holding a tray of ale in her right hand. "I saw the whole thing with my own eyes." The Barmaid said with the upmost confidence in what she saw.
"Your full of it." One of the drunken patrons of her table said.
"You're the worse liar Malissa." The second added as this upset the barmaid.
"I'm not lying!" Malissa said to the drunkard.
"Maybe you fell down and hit your heard and had a little dream." A man from another table announced as this started a small argument but nothing to pay attention too.
Nearby the Rose Knights were gathered as they overheard the story from the barmaid Malissa. "So, Norma what do you think?" The female knight asked as she looked over to the blond Knight of the ground.
"What do I think?" Norma asked which the knight nodded in confirmation. "The food is atrocious, the only thing worse are the drinks." Norma said but then the older knight grunted to get their attention.
"Norma we're here to conduct reconnaissance on the way to Alima Hills." The Old man said reminding Norma of their task. "Let's focus on the Flame Dragon." He added but then Pina cut in on the conversation.
"Lower your voice." Pina said reminding them all that a key part of reconnaissance is to not be known your performing recon. "Go ahead Himelton." Pina said to the female of the ground other than herself.
"Yes." Himelton said before she got down to it. "There's a lot of talk on the street about a group of mercenaries in strange armor." Himelton said revealing what she had learned. "They evacuated the people of Calma Village, and they say they defeated a flame dragon." Himelton said as it seems that with so many people talking about it, there may be evidence of this especially if the people of Calma Village are revealing such information.
"Well, I don't know, Wyverns and drakes and anything can easily be mistaken for something like that." Norma said revealing what he knows.
"I know a flame dragon when I see one." Melissa said as she brought a pitcher of water to the group.
Norma laughed to this when he heard the woman. "You've been drinking what your selling." He said as it was clear he didn't believe anyone could defeat the Flame Dragon.
"Laugh all you want but I saw what I saw." Melissa defended as she stood confidently with her tale.
"Ok the men in strange armor who drove it away, what can you tell us about them?" Himelton asked seeing a chance to get some information.
Melissa hummed as she recalled the incident in question. "I'm not so sure about the details." Melissa said but by her tone it was clear that she did know but needed some compensation.
"I think you might remember." Himelton said offering a coin to Melissa.
Just then Melissa snatched the coin with glee ready to share her tale now. "You know what, I think it's coming back to me." Melissa said with a smile on her face. "You're in for a most impressive story indeed." Melissa said before she began her story. "They came the same day of the attack for nary one of us would have survived." Melissa said recalling the story. "They had a magical weapon a deadly fire spear made of iron and rode in immense carriages strong as stone, and their leader drew a divine sword from the heavens themselves." She said recalling the tale. "All of them clad in strange armor of steel and gold." Melissa said revealing what she had seen.
'What sort of warriors are these?' Pina mentally wondered as it worried her if they were a threat to the empire.
(Scene Break Alima Hills Tenno Base)
The Tenno eventually returned to the base on Alima Hills and from there it was seen that most if not all of the construction was finished. The Operators now had a working building to coordinate and officiate the day-to-day tasks. The Grineer allies from Steel Miridian and Kahl's camp had their own areas built to act as barracks. The Tenno's Corpus allies from the Parum Sequence, Solarus United, and other Corpus factions that would side with the Tenno.
From the Recon Vehicle the refugees from Calma Village stepped out as they saw the structures that made up the Tenno's base of operation. "This is their fortress?" Rory asked as she found it to be both strange and impressive.
(Meanwhile over in Tenno Operations)
Inside the Operations building the Tenno were sitting around a smaller meeting room with the hologram of Hunhow being protected from the center of the table. Hunhow observed operations and needless to say it was vastly different then commanding Sentient Drones to battle. At the moment Operatives from the support staff have confirmed that Recon Unit-3 lead by Balwin had returned with refugees. Hunhow calculated the pros and cons of this. Thanks to their technology they were able to handle the language barrier and from observations and questions it would seem their economy focused on agriculture and forestry. They've yet to meet with any formal government but that was to be expected. If they continue to move outward, they were bound to find such a government.
"Very well here is our next order of business." Hunhow said as he had to run this through Natah as well. "We will accept these people as refugees on humanitarian grounds." Hunhow said as he spoke to the Tenno. "This can be used to portray ourselves as benevolent in a sense we will not abandon those in need especially those caught in the crossfire of our battles." Hunhow said detailing what was to happen here.
"For a minute I thought you were going to tell us to get rid of them." Juvina voiced as she still didn't fully trust Hunhow.
"I would have, alas Natah would no doubt see to it I regret that choice if I fail to provide a reason for it." Hunhow countered as he got back to subject.
"Thank you, Lotus." Tavo said grateful for the Lotus keeping Hunhow in line.
"Moving on." Hunhow said getting back on track. "We'll house them here for the time being. I suggest you contact the Perum Sequence to get shelters ready for them and head to operations to acquired rations for these refugees." Hunhow said and thus the Tenno nodded to this.
"Understood." Balwin said as they also had the Ostrons here who can help them get these people sorted out. After all the Ostrons tended to form a close nit family bond with each other. It would come as to no surprise that they would gladly help look after war orphans.
(Later out in the hallways)
"Alright I'll grab some guys to get the rations for these people." Juvina said as she left to get said rations.
"And I'll go get some tents, blankets, and cloths for these folks." Tavo said as he walked off to do just that.
"Don't goof off Tavo!" Balwin called out to Tavo who just waved at Balwin walk heading off.
"That leaves me to get in touch with operations to file the forms." Balwin sighed knowing this was going to take a while.
"Balwin!" Came a new voice that Balwin knew. Looking to it he saw the familiar sight of Nyx Prime glaring at him from the doorway. "We need to talk." The Tenno inside the Warframe said.
(Later up on the roof)
"What the hell were you thinking!?" The Tenno said as it was the one who bore a similar face to Balwin from the strategy meeting.
"Jeez is that anyway to speak to your brother, Telva?" Balwin asked looking to his twin sister.
"Don't get smart with me!" Telva snapped glaring at Balwin no doubt she was still angry with him for a few past incidents. "Why did you bring those people here?!" Telva added as she wanted a straight answer from her brother.
"I couldn't just leave them to fend for themselves." Balwin said making it clear that he did this with noble intentions.
"And now we have mouths to feed." Talva said making clear where she stood on this. "Don't think I didn't know that you didn't call it in sooner, so we'd have no choice but to take them in." Talva said her tone showing how frustrated she was with Balwin.
"So, what we should have just left them to fend for themselves?" Balwin said which Talva glared to that.
"Yes!" Talva said not even denying it. "They aren't our people, so they weren't our problem! We need to focus on finding the bastards responsible for the initial attack and wiping them out!" Talva said showing she was for full scale slaughter.
"Oh, here we go again every decision I've made you've had to be against it!" Balwin went on as now he was getting frustrated.
"Only when I have reason to be against it, like making us pull our punches!" Talva said which Balwin knew what she meant. "Every time you try to show mercy it can, will, and HAS bitten us all in the ass." Talva went on as Balwin glared at her.
"I can say same thing about your lack of mercy Talva!" Balwin countered as he glared at his twin sister. "Every time you go for wholesale slaughter it bites us in the ass with an escalation in violence from Grineer and an increase of tax from the Corpus." Balwin added knowing that every time his sister abandoned her morals the Corpus and Grineer escalates the severity of their operations. "When will it sink in that slaughtering your enemies won't end the conflict any sooner?" Balwin asked which Talva had a counter.
"And when will you learn that Mercy is a weakness?!" Talva countered causing the twins to glare spitefully at each other.
"Whatever." Balwin said opting to backdown and be the bigger man. "Right now, I've started the first step to peaceful relations by issuing trust with the people on this side of the gate." Balwin said as he turned away from his sister. "If this works out... we can have an avenue to build ourselves greater and maybe end the conflict in the Origin System and just maybe be ready for when HE shows up." Balwin said the last part referring to the Man in the Wall.
Talva scoffed as she began to walk away summoning her Nyx Prime via Transference. "Do whatever you want, but when this bites you in the ass, and it will, don't say I didn't warn you." Talva said walking off leaving Balwin there by himself.
(Scene Break the Next Day)
The day before had been spent distributing food and supplies for the refugees. Tents had been set up for the refugees to sleep in until a more permanent housing solution was set up. At the moment Balwin and his team were working on meeting the refugees by learning their names. It was mainly so the Tenno could know who was; whom and have them on file so no issues would pop up should they wander around.
"I am what you may call a wizard, Kato El Altestan, and this here is my student," Kato introduce himself as the young blue hair mage soon said as she introduce herself as well, "Lelei La Lalena."
Next was the Gothic Lolita with the war halberd that Tavo was still eyeing, as Rory introduce herself saying, "Rory Mercury. I'm an apostle of Emloy the god of darkness."
And lastly was the tall blonde elf girl who had some decent wear of a white shirt and blue pants as she introduce herself as she said, "I'm the daughter of Hodolue, of the forest of Koan, Tuka Luna Marceau."
Juvina wrote down all of their names for the record of things before Balwin step up and said, "Greeting to you all, as of right now, we're preparing housing for all of you, so follow us."
(Later at the construction site)
At an empty land area as Corpus was selection and planning out each building of where they will be at, the Grineer was operating some machinery to clear the area, but the Tenno were helping a big part for this using their Necramechs and Landing Crafts to help with the heavy equipment and supplies that maybe needed for building as well.
Lelei was surprised to see all the machinery and Necramechs all working together to help flatten out the lands, and build a foundation as Kato said, "what kind of beasts are these?"
"I believe they are building houses for us," Lelei said to her mentor as the old wizard turn around and said, "I guess that fine. We can finally get some of our things off the wagon once they are all finished. I'm gonna get some sleep."
With the old wizard walks off to find a place to take a nap at while Lelei stay around and observe everything around her until she saw Tuka staring at one of the Necramechs, as Lelei came over to her and ask, "IS something wrong?"
"Oh no, I just know my father would be disappointed to miss a site like this, he would love it. I must find a way to tell him," Tuka said as it seem she doesn't realize or she was in denial that her father is dead as Lelei gasp to this, then suddenly some Corpus member came up to them and said, "Excuse us, this area is off limit to all civilians."
Lelei realize what they meant and soon move onto the next area, meanwhile above on the cliff area, Telva look down at the two refugees, giving a dislike look to them as she turns away before walking off.
(Later at the cooking tent)
Some Ostrons from earth had come over to help provide the cooking for the Refugee, as a woman was cutting some food as she soon notice Lelei as she was observing them as she smile and said, "Would you like a taste?"
the woman held up a slice vegetable up to Lelei as the blue hair mage looks at it as the woman said, "Its a white radish Daikon."
"Daikon?" Lelei said as the woman nodded to her as Lelei took the piece and said again before eating it, "Daikon."
Soon enough getting a taste of it Lelei was surprised of how refreshing it tasted and took another bite of it enjoying the taste some more.
(Later at the nearby table)
lunch was prepared for everyone as they sat at a table with a bowl of soup with a plate of vegetables and a meat from a certain living tower with some bread as well, with some chopsticks or normal eating silverware to eat with as Balwin said to them, "The meal is done, you may enjoy."
With that as the old wizard took a bite out of the freshly made breath and yell out in excitement as he said, "Oh yeah! This bread wonderful! Oh, it's so fluffy wuffy yummy, oh-oh!"
"Daikon, bread... okay," Lelei said as she looks at all the food and name off some of the food that she knew off before picking up the chopsticks before putting her hands together as the old man saw this and ask her, "Are you not hungry Lilly?"
"Ah the Tenno says this before they eat," Lelei said as she finish giving a pray as she said, "Bless the void for this meal."
(Scene Break Origin System Corpus)
"This is a disaster." One of the Corpus Board members said as he had a scowl on his face. "A new avenue for profits but the Tenno have managed to acquire it first." He added no doubt upset by this new event. The Gate had reached the ears of every major faction in the system even Narmer.
The Corpus had suffered greatly because of Narmer as did the Grineer and that was after Parvos was discovered to still be alive. Parvos on Corpus faction had also risen with the new Sisters of Parvos and the Jade Eximus units he had developed. "The Gate would have served better if it had appeared on a Corpus controlled location." The same Board Member said no doubt ranting about their current predicament.
"My thoughts exactly." One of the Board Members subordinates responded. "We can't let the Tenno maintain control of that Gate." He added as the Board member sighed to this. After the New War their resources had taken a blow because of Narmer, they can't be reckless in the use of their remaining resources be it robots or crewmen.
"We will wait and see what happens." The Board Member said as he knew that when dealing with the Tenno caution was needed. "However, I want us to be ready at the first sign of leverage to use against them." He said and thus he smirked to this. "We will claim that Gate in the name of Profit." He said with a grin that mirrored the greed the Corpus is known for in their cult of money.
(Scene Break over on Lua)
The Lotus was on her throne as she was coordinating the Tenno to better keep the power struggle balanced out. The reports she was sent were good enough as is. Hunhow was playing nice for the time being and his reports were exact and straight to the point. This was a very complex operation, and the Lotus needed to know that the Gate is secured. The team on the other side had secured it and from these reports those who inhabit the other side are extremely primitive.
The thought of civilian casualties was concerning but Lotus trusted the Tenno to handle things. She suspected the civilians who died were incidents beyond their control since the report included a dragon. Right now, they had refugees to look after so it was a good thing the Tenno brought Ostrons along with them who can help tend to the refugees.
The information they were gathering was helpful to learn of the locale and what to expect from them. It was not much but it was certainly a good start. They needed more information to go off from such as the origins of those soldiers who attacked the village. From what the Tenno gathered from their prisoners they worked for someone higher on the political food chain. If that were the case and worse comes to worse... the Lotus feared that it would be another Orokin Massacre on the horizon.
(Back in the other world)
Several days had passed since the Tenno brought in the refugees from the Flame Dragon Incident. Scouts and recon remained on the lookout for said dragon in case it tried its hand at a direct attack. With construction still underway for the housing the Tenno managed to get something else made. That thing being a bathhouse surprisingly enough and to add bonus the baths were split into two one for men and one for women.
The Tenno were used to communal baths due to their upbringing and partially because of the fact of the Zariman being adrift in the Void. With the woman's side of the baths Juvina was on guard duty this time around. Having the Grineer or Corpus handle it would scare people away, so it was smarter to have a Tenno do it. Juvina currently had Gara Prime equipped with the Volnus Prime Battle Axe, and the Astilla Prime shotgun. Next to her was her Kavat as it was purring while curled up for a nap.
Inside the woman's side of the baths Rory entered with some of the children by her side. When she entered though Rory and the children quickly found that Tuka had beat them to it as she was about to remove her shirt for the bath.
"Ah-ha someone's already beaten us here." Rory said with a smile while holding on to her axe.
"Um... yea." Tuka admitted to the group when all of a sudden, a footstep was heard outside. Looking to the source the group with Juvina saw a Corpus Crewman standing outside. The children all panicked when they saw the Crewman as it got Juvina to move.
"Show yourself right now or else!" Juvina ordered pointing her shotgun at the intruder. "You know any Corpus or Grineer is not to be near this area outside of guard details!" Juvina ordered while glaring at the new arrival.
In turn the crewman began to remove his helmet and when he did it was revealed that Lelei was the one in the outfit. This calmed everyone down as Juvina wondered where Lelei had even gotten the crewman's uniform. The Corpus may need to up their security at some point.
"I wanted to take a look outside." Lelei began before looking down to her helmet. "I borrowed this." She said before directing her attention back to the others. "Now I'm sweaty." Lelei finished as Juvina sighed to this. At least Lelei didn't steal it, but it did make the Tenno wonder to whom that suit even belongs.
(Later in the Bath)
The three girls sat in the hot waters naked as they all relaxed inside it. "Now this is divine." Rory said with a smile of content on her face. "I still can't believe these Tenno and their allies managed to set up an authentic bath in here." Rory added as this sort of pleasure was reserved for the nobles and the wealthy.
"I never had a warm bath like this." Lelei added as this was a new experience for her.
"Is that right?" Rory asked as her interested was piqued.
"I'm from the Rururdo tribe we're nomads we're constantly moving." Lelei said before looking down towards the water. "So, my baths have always been cold." She went on and then looked towards the other girls in the bath with her mainly Rory. "Ms. Oracle is this new to you?" Lelei asked honestly curious.
"Please dear call me Rory." Rory said as she spoke in a tone that contradicted her physical age.
"Oh, you can call me Lelei." Lelei responded to the oracle.
"Now as for your question, in the temple there was absolutely gorgeous imperial style bath." Rory began as she recalled those baths. "But as one of Emroy's Apostles I've bathed in more rivers and streams then I cared to count." Rory recounted before relaxing. "So, I am enjoying that I can take a bath it's kind of luxurious." Rory said and thus Leilei had more to add.
"They are going to do this every day, that's what the Tenno Balwin said." Lelei said and thus Rory recalled that one.
"Oh yes one of the leading Demigods." Rory said recalling the Tenno with the black armored Warframe.
"Wait that was the man who saved me right?" Tuka asked suddenly as this got Rory and Lelei to look at the blond-haired elf. "It's just... when I was stuck at the bottom of the village well, I wondered if he was the one to pull me out." Tuka said which Lelei cut in on that.
"Yes, it was Balwin's squad he was the one in charge." Lelei said looking over to Tuka to give the elf some closure.
"Balwin..." Tuka said as she smiled longingly for the Tenno who saved her. "Balwin." Tuka repeated as she looked down to the hot water.
Lelei and Rory saw this before looking to each almost like they came to an agreement. "You know I think you may be fully recovered." Rory said seeing that Tuka was on the mend.
"Losing all of your family and friends must have been awful." Lelei seeing how that would affect someone. "I'm sure you were in shock from all of that weren't you." Lelei went on as that sort of experience left a mark.
"I guess I was." Tuka said as she tried to recall that memory. "It seems like people have been taking care of me since that day." Tuka said as the Tenno had been working hard to make sure Tuka fully recovered. "I don't know if I deserve to be in a place like this right now." Tuka said not sure with her place here.
"Sure, why not?" Rory asked as she then moved to the other side of the bath. "You and all the kids here, anyone who has no family to go back to." Rory said confidently to the elven girl before her. This in turn brought a smile to Tuka's face as she saw that there was a silver lining in all of this.
Later into the bath Tuka, Rory, and Lelei were seen washing the hairs of the children in the bath with them. Scrubbing the shampoo in while working to avoid any getting into their eyes. The children in question were just enjoying it as after the tragedy they endured several days ago this was a nice change of paste.
"So Lelei, is seem you been picking up their language quite easily," Rory said to Lelei as it seems the young mage was learning the Tenno native language as she said to the goth demigod, "There still a lot I have to learn, but I'm starting to get a grasp on their culture."
"Everything seems so different," Tuka said as she look over to the others as Lelei started to explain thing as she said, "These warriors, they are known as Tenno, warrior gods from a place call the earth within something called "The origin system", and here's what fascinating, as it seem there aren't any nations but instead Tenno would protect and fight for an entire world, and there are many worlds that the Tenno go to on the other side of the gate."
"Entire worlds," Tuka said a bit disbelief as she knew of nations and countries but protecting entire worlds it is almost hard to believe as Rory smile to this as she knew these demigod warriors themselves are powerful warriors but fighting to protect entire worlds is something else to say as she said, "That sound very exciting."
"There are entire worlds we have yet to discover, its bigger than we thought" Lelei said as she thought about the Tenno world is like and thought does their world have many other worlds as well that they have yet to reach? IT was still al la mystery and could not help but smile to this thought.
(The princess an old church)
Princess Pina sat across from a bed from a person she thought had died, but instead was still alive as she said, "Lord Duran."
On the bed was the lord that Balwin had cut down but spared his life as well. It seems that the only thing that were cut off was his left arm and left leg. No doubt Balwin had spared this mans life during that fateful battle. From the long of things, it was hard to say if he could make a full recovery or not. His gray hair had turn to white in the time of his resting no doubt the stress being responsible, as the noble man look at the princess and said, "Hello princess, what are you doing here?"
"I've been gathering information on Almas." Pina said as she stood before the defeated king's bed. "I came when I heard someone of noble birth was recuperating here." She said as the old man laid there hearing her out.
"Information?" He began almost sounding offended. "So, are you telling me that you don't know what happened at Almas hill?" He asked with venom in his voice which caught Pina by surprise. "Motos own daughter. Allow me to enlighten you with some of the information you seek." He said before he began his explanation of what he saw all while the traumatic memories played back in his mind. "We went through and were annihilated and even after that the emperor still summoned the army of his vassals." He said explaining what happened and the realization he had too late. "Because your father was afraid to have his throne usurped, he had us face them." Duran said which made Pina run over to him for more information.
"Now wait just a minute I know that the imperial army had in fact lost the first battle but I." She began but Duran kept speaking.
"Princess, we fought till the last soldier could not lose an arrow more, but our enemies were not the creatures before us." Duran said as he looked away from Pina.
"What creatures?" Pina asked almost afraid of what Duran would say.
"Listen to me." Doran said before turning to face Pina. "It was the Empire! Your father knew we had no chance out there." He said with his good eye widen with fury at the betrayal and the loss of all those good men.
"What?! My lord please at least tell me what kind of enemy we're dealing with out there." Pina said taking Doran's remaining good hand.
Instead, Doran snatched his hand out and then gripped where the stump of his lost left arm is. "You want to know? Go to Almas hill yourself and see what looms before us." Doran said giving Pina nothing but the truth.
(Later outside of the building)
Pina was seen walking out of the building as she had a solemn look on her face. Next to the horse the female knight saw Pina leaving and went on to greet her. "Princess." She began to speak. "So, I'm assuming the Order of the Rose is not charging into Almas." The girl said hopeful after hearing the rumors involving Almas Hills.
"I'm afraid that would only make matters worse." Pina said much to the groups surprise. "However, I'm sure of this, to find out more we need to go there." Pina said shocking the girl. "Norma have the rest of the cavalry move out." Pina began which Norma nodded.
"Right." Norma said ready to head out.
"Grey what's next?" Pina asked to the oldest member of the group.
"Italica it would be the largest settlement between here and Almas." Grey said to the Imperial Princess. With the destination decided the group got ready to move.
(The Tenno Base Alma Hills)
Balwin was working on his gear in the Operators Exclusive area. Each Tenno had their own room for all of their gear. It included all of the tools the Orbiter and the comforts of it as well. The only differences were that the spot that the lift to the Railjack would normally be, was replaced with a lift in and out of the room, and secondly the entire area was fresh and new unlike the Orbiter.
Many people were asking why Balwin was still using his Foundry to make tools and what not even when exploring such a primitive world. Well, Balwin had his reasons and that was to be prepared for any surprises out here. "Operator you have guests who need to speak with you." Ordis announced which got Balwin to stop. "They say that it is important." Ordis added causing Balwin to sigh.
"Alright." Balwin said as he stopped what he was doing to see what the issue was.
(Later at the lift)
The Lift lower to the main entry room as it made the entire place look like a luxury apartment. Entering the area Balwin saw Kiva and Alva standing there. Balwin entered using Umbra as he greeted the pair.
"So, what did you need?" Balwin asked offering to hear them out.
"It's about Tuka there's something going on with her." Kiva said reporting her observations of the elf girl.
"What seems to be the problem?" Balwin asked as he had a pretty good idea of what was wrong with her.
"She's been asking for two of everything practically demanding it. Food, Lodgings, and even cloths." Kiva explained as Balwin heard this Operator out. "And when we bring her one of something she won't touch it." Kiva added as Balwin sighed having a good idea of what this was. "She was noted to be asking for men's cloths." Kiva finished and thus Balwin got down to it.
"She's suffering from a mental trauma." Balwin said speaking form experience. "The Dragon took her entire village friends and family all gone." Balwin said while he explained the situation to them. "Many of us Tenno went through the same issues when we started out... our minds trying to block out what happened to our own loved ones in the Zariman deluding ourselves into thinking our parents are still alive and will come to get us even after we watched them die." Balwin said as he had seen many of the Tenno go through that until the others had to bring them out of it or worse the Orokin Training of them beat that delusion out of them.
"What do you suggest we do?" Alva asked with concern for Tuka.
"Monitor her and try to see if we can get her psychiatric help." Balwin said being blunt about it. "If all else fails... we're going to have to use extreme measures to draw her out of the delusion." Balwin said knowing that the longer Tuka stays behind that delusion the more likely it was she would suffer a psychotic mental break.
"Yes sir." Kiva and Alva said and with a salute took their leave of the Tenno. Once he was alone Balwin sighed as he saw this situation was starting to get troublesome.
(Meanwhile the Temporary Refugee Housing)
In the temporary housing area that had a Grineer guarding it Tuka was seen sitting by a pile of cloths alone. As she sat there, she looked longingly as any Tenno who saw her noticed the signs and kept a close eye on the girl. "Tuka? What's the matter?" Rory was heard asking as upon closer look Tuka was in fact sitting with Rory while Leilei's master was asleep on his chair.
Nearby a group of children were seen running about playing with one of them wearing an Excalibur Mask another wearing a Volt Mask, and the last one wearing a Grineer Mask. The child with the volt mask put his hand up making it seem like he was firing a current of electricity from his hands and the child with the Grineer mask acting like he was being electrocuted.
"Oh nothing." Tuka said not wanting to worry Rory about her issues.
"Come on, you should enjoy this. The Tenno said that everything here is only temporary." Rory said to Tuka as she sitting down with a change of clothing as Tuka said, "They're making meals for us, making bath's for us, it's much more lavish than I'm use too, but I..."
Tuka trail off as she seem worried about something as Rory said, "You can talk to me."
"We're going to need to fend for ourselves someday, and my father always the one to take care of me, and all I can think is that I have to sell myself to one of them," Tuka said not aware that the Tenno aren't like that at all as then Lelei came up in a corpus suit again as stood behind them hearing what they were saying as Tuka gasp in fright to this while Rory wasn't all that worry as she said, "What is this?"
"It seems safe enough," Lelei said as she then takes off her head wear and said to them, "There's something I have to show you."
(scene break)
At an area where the Tenno had gather all the wyvern remains after the battles, before they started harvesting most of the meat that was edible at least and left a pile of scales that were nicely preserved, as the Tenno didn't know what to do with them so they just left them alone in a pile for anyone to take if they wish as Lelei was holding one up, inspecting it with Tuka gasp to the site and Rory said, "Goodness, this is a lot of dead wyverns, and the Tenno aren't wasting a single one."
Rory is an impressed that the Tenno decided to take wyvern remains but wonder why they left the scales behind as Lelei said, "What you see is what the Tenno had gather after the battle with the empire, we're free to take all the scales, the Tenno said they had no use for them as long we leave the rest of the remains with them."
"HU!?" Yuka was shock by this as she look to Lelei and said, "DO they not know how much they can get for one of those?"
"The Tenno has no interest in them, only the meat and leather," Lelei said as Tuka was still shocked as the young mage soon said to her, "SO you don't have to sell yourself, okay?"
(Later)
Balwin and his team had loaded up bags of wyvern scales after what Lelei had told them. They still didn't seem interested in keeping them, but knew if it can help out any refugees then they would lend a hand in helping them out as Tavo said, "Hey when did we become a transport service?"
Balwin had yet to switch out Umbra since he was most familiar with his Frame. He rarely switches out the Frame unless he needs Umbra as a partner for a mission. But this time he had his Kubrow, Fang, tagging along for this mission. The refugees really liked the animals seeing how friendly they were when properly trained and domesticated.
Tavo was utilizing Revenant Prime this time around with the Tatsu Prime sheathed on his back with the Phantasma Prime rifle to go with it. HE opted to bring along his Moa that he named Skipper for this mission while a Viper Wraith was acting as Tavos sidearm.
"Stop whining, this is a way to support themselves in the long run, as we don't need these kind of resources and Hunhow said it was acceptable to give them toe scales regardless, and if he didn't say it, I would have given to them regardless," Balwin said as Juvina spoken up saying, "It just to show they won't want to rely on us for support for everything. And also, this is a good time to observe and learn how they do trade here."
Juvina was right of course as she had opted to bring Gara Prime with the Volnus Prime axe and the Astilla Prime shotgun. She had also brought with her the Dread throwing knives the Fusilai and her own Kavat, Minami, for a partner.
"Now stop complaining and get ready to leave," Balwin said as he walked to the transport vehicle within Umbra as the other followed him. While Lelei, and Rory got into the back, Tuka didn't get in as Lelie looks back at her and said, "What's wrong?"
"W-where going somewhere different right?" Tuka asked as she looks down with a worry look on her face as she went on saying, "I don't know what to do, father."
Suddenly a hand was place on her shoulder as she was surprised and saw Umbra there as Balwin look to her and said, "It's going to be alright; we're going to be here with you all the way."
"Just come with us," Lelei said as Tuka look to the young mage as she went on saying, "WE trusted them before, right? Not even a dragon can harm us. We'll be fine, alright?"
Tuka was surprised by her words before Rory spoke up saying, "Come on, we'll look after you." With that Lelei reach out her hand to Tuka as the elf girl was a bit hesitant but took it as she smile before getting on as well with the Tenno loaded up as well along with their crew as Kahl said, "Kahl and brothers are ready."
"Then lets hit the road," Balwin said as Tavo start the engine and starts driving off.
(Meanwhile with Hunhow)
"Natah has received my report of the situation." Hunhow began as he was met with another Tenno. "She has sent out a request for Balwin so he can answer a few questions she has." Hunhow finished which was bad news for them. "She will also need an interview with the civilians likely for comparison and to find if they have any information to add to it." Hunhow added knowing that Natah wanted to have as much information as she can gather.
"I'm afraid that won't be possible." Telva said as she was on Hunhow duty right now. "He and his recon unit had just departed." She said before standing up. "Their heading to Italica." Telva said and thus Hunhow knew the Lotus would likely have to wait for this report.
(Meanwhile in an unknown location)
"This is escalating quickly." A powerful voice spoke as many were gathered.
"What were you thinking opening the Gate, Hardy?!" Another voice demanded of another.
"I was acting on a whim to destroy the Empire." The voice, Hardy, said to her fellows.
"But in doing so you brought forth a force that can destroy us as well." Another voice spoke its tone deep with fear and concern. "My envoy Rory has already made contact with its demigods." It added revealing itself as Emroy.
"Even without meeting them we know what they are." Another said as Hardy was not fully convinced. "We know we're they receive their power from." It went on forcing Hardy to listen. "There are things in the universe things that predate mankind, things that predate even us, things that predate even existence itself." The widened god said as he sounded upset.
"And you have brought forth those who have received the powers of such things." Emroy said showing that even he was terrified of what may come. "It won't be long before their God comes to us." Emroy said as he could already tell this God would be too powerful for any of them to hope to defeat even united.
"It hasn't noticed us yet, so maybe." Hardy began but was then cut off by a new sound a new voice.
"Rap. Tap. Tap." A voice spoke as if saying that it was knocking on the door.
"No..." Emroy said his voice deep with fear and terror.
"Rap. Tap. Tap." The voice repeated and Hardy was horrified.
"I'm sorry." Hardy said realizing how much he had screwed up.
"Rap. Tap. Tap." The entity repeated several times as the aura of the Gods began to dim. Soon enough a grinning mouth could be seen in the shadows. "So... you're the Gods of this world... this should be fun." The Man in the Wal said knew that with the Tenno things were going to be getting interesting going forward.
