Chapter 3: Envy
Damian saw as the last customer was ushered out of the bar. "That's the last of them."
"Alright, Hawk's mom, time to move out." announced Meliodas as Hawk's mom sturred from her slumber and got up.
Soon the massive pig was walking around the outskirts of town. "Wait, don't we need to wait for Merry?" asked Elizabeth.
"Oh, yeah, I guess she needs to close up shop for a while and pack her things."
"No, that's not the case," said Damian, getting their attention. "Whenever I meet Merry it's always at the Turtle Tea House, but it's never in the same village. At first I thought it was magic but now I'm starting to suspect it's something similar to Hawk's mom."
"Guys the Tea House!" shouted Hawk.
They all looked over at the Tea House as dust began kicking up around it, suddenly four openings appeared around the hill and a massive metal leg emerged from each opening. The four metal legs quickly lifted the entire hill off the ground revealing that it was in fact a massive turtle shell with the Tea House on top of it. Then a massive mechanical turtle head emerged with smoke coming out of its mouth before it began to walk.
"What the heck? It's some sort of massive turtle creature." said Hawk in awe.
"I don't think that turtle is a real creature," said Damian, also in awe.
"Hey, you're right!" shouted Meliodas, "It's a giant mechanical turtle."
"Amazing," was all Elizabeth could say at the sight.
Soon the large metal turtle was walking side by side with Hawk's Mom, and Merry walked out onto the deck of her tea shop, "Well, what do you all think of the Great Travel Turtle?"
"It's incredible." shouted Elizabeth.
"Where on earth did you find this thing?" asked Meliodas, "Did you make it yourself?"
"Ha no," she said with a little head shake, before using her magic to float in the air and fly closer to Hawk's mom, "This was actually made by one of the Virtues a few years back, I told him about how you were traveling around on a giant pig he suddenly got inspired and made this the Great Travel Turtle."
"Someone made that?!' said Damian, slightly shocked.
"Why are you shocked," Asked Elizabeth, confused, "Shouldn't you know the other Virtues?"
"The only other virtue I've met is Merry."
"What?" said Elizabeth, Hawk and Meliodas at the sametime with varying degrees of surprise.
"Then who are the other virtues?" asked Meliodas.
Merry then got a serious look on her face and held a hand up, "I'm afraid I can't tell you that, Meliodas. I meant what I said when I said I would never lie to you but there are some things I can't tell you and one of them is about the other virtues."
"Huh, why not?"
Merry then pulled out a necklace that had a symbol of a turtle on it, "The reason that I gave the Virtues necklaces it because I don't know how committed to this they are, you see not all of them are big time fighters like the Sins, they can all hold their own but it's not there bread and butter. While they all have agreed over letters to help, I want to give them a chance to back out if they want to."
"Makes sense." Said Meliodas as he too didn't want to drag anyone in this situation against their will.
"Also I met each one of them because I was gathering information about each of the Seven Deadly Sins, each Virtue has had their lives affected with their corresponding sin and not all of them have been great." said Merry with a concerned look on her face.
Damian looked at Meliodas, "So who did you piss off?"
Meliodas had to think about that for a moment, "Oh boy that is a tough one, let's see the opposite of Wrath is Patience right, who have I pissed off that would represent patience."
Merry giggled, "Don't worry Meliodas, the Virtue of Patience is probably far different then anybody you're imagining."
"Will there be problems with the Sins and Virtues meeting each other?" asked Elizabeth slightly concerned.
Merry had to think for a moment, while Damian looked away. "I can only see two, maybe three issues if everyone from each group meets up, mainly me and Merlin, and Damian and Escanor."
"Escanor?" repeated Elizabeth as she remembered the wanted poster, "The sin of Pride," she then looked over at Damian, "What did he do to you?"
Damian was silent as he looked over the horizon when something caught his eye, "Over there in the distance, I see the Forest of White Dreams." They all looked and saw the top of the forest filled with white trees. "Another Sin is there right? Let's hurry."
~o~
"Sir Gilthunder!" Gilthunder looked and saw a knight on horseback approaching him.
"Report?" ordered Gilthunder.
"We've searched the town and it appears that the group left and is heading to the Forest of White Dreams."
"I see, prepare the men, we're moving out to the forest."
"Uh sir?"
"What is it?"
"Well it's just that the townspeople have been questioned and the descriptions of this group doesn't match any of the wanted posters of the Seven Deadly Sins, in fact each description of the group says that there young adults, children even."
"One of those children was able to undo the spell on my sword and another was able to throw it back with enough power to damage out fortress, without a doubt one of them has to be a sin and we're not going to rest until we have them captured, is that understood, soldier."
The knight saluted, "Yes sir, Lord Gilthunder, sir."
"Good now gather the men," ordered Gilthunder, "We're going to the Forest of White Dreams."
"YES SIR!"
~o~
"So this is the Forest of White Dreams." said Damian as he looked around at all the trees, "Stay close, without a doubt someone could get lost here."
"Yeah no kidding," said Hawk as he jumped at a noise, "What was that?"
"Probably a ghost wanting some pork chops." teased Merry.
"Hey!"
"Merry, please don't tease the poor pig," said Elizabeth.
"Something is coming though." said Meliodas as they all heard rustling in the bushes which caused both Elizabeth and Hawk to jump as a bunny hopped towards them. "Oh it's just a bunny rabbit."
"Don't scare us like that!" yelled Hawk.
Damian looked closer at the white rabbit, "Wait a minute that bunny has a letter."
Around the bunny's neck was a tiny thread holding a letter to its back. Merry saw this and bent down, "Here little guy, let me take a look at that." The bunny quickly without hesitation hopped over to Merry, who took the letter, "As I thought it's for us. Thanks for the delivery little guy, here have some of this." She then snapped her fingers causing a piece of carrot cake to appear in front of the rabbit. Which caused the rabbit to become confused at the food.
"Uh Merry, I don't think bunnies eat carrot cake."
"Cake is the best reward for a job well done." countered Merry as she read the letter.
"Wow she really does have a sweet tooth." commented Meliodas.
"Ah! I've got great news everyone." said Merry as she turned to the group with a smile. "The Virtue of Charity has located two of the Seven Deadly Sins, according to the letter, the Fox Sin of Greed is located in Baste Prison and the Sin of Sloth is apparently hiding around the Necropolis."
"Really, that's great news." said Elizabeth in a cheerful tone, "After we find the sin here in this forest we can get two more in no time."
"Yes and hopefully we can pick up a Virtue or two along the way as well." said Merry, "Charity also mentioned that one of the Virtues is near Baste prison as well, we should be able to pick them up along the way."
"Wow, we're making great time," said Hawk.
"We're half way done at this point," said Hawk.
"We might even be done before dinner," said Hawk.
"Huh?" Suddenly they all realized something was off. There was now not only one Hawk but several Hawks all around them.
Hawk squealed as he suddenly found himself to be surrounded by several pigs that all looked like him. "AH why are there so many mes?"
"Uh, which one is the real Hawk?" asked Elizabeth.
"I don't know, I can't tell." said Meliodas as he looked at all of the pigs. "Which one is the real one?"
"I'm the real one!" replied all of the Hawks.
Merry started to get annoyed by all the pigs, "Okay, well the real one better step forward soon or I'm roasting all of you." as she was ready to summon a fireball.
"One moment," said Damian as he looked through all the Hawks before quickly grabbing one pig and holding it above his head, "This is the real one, blast the rest."
Merry didn't need to hear anymore as she quickly started casting fireballs on all of the other pigs causing them to start scouring off in a panic. "Hey how'd you know it was me?" asked Hawk who was still being held by Damian.
"Yeah how did you know?" asked Elizabeth.
"What if Merry hit the real Hawk by mistake." said Elizabeth before both Elizabeths looked at each other in shock. "Hey!'
"Well I doubt Merry would have cared much if Hawk got hurt," said Meliodas.
"Well this is a problem." said Meliodas.
"I know right." said Meliodas
All the Meliodas looked at each other. "Well this makes things complicated."
"This is going to give me a headache," said Merry.
"Can we just roast the pig now?" asked Merry.
Merry looked at the other copies and was getting annoyed, "I'm going to burn this place to the ground."
Damian put Hawk down, "Don't bother," Damian then rushed past all of them at lightning speed hitting all of the fakes but missing all of the real people causing all of the fakes to hit the surrounding area hard.
In a puff of smoke each fake transformed back into an imp. "Hide and Seek imps." stated Merry as she saw the creatures' real forms, "It's been a long time since I've seen those guys."
"After them," said Meliodas quickly as the group chased after the fleeing imps. "They live here so they might know where to look for the other sin."
"Hey look over there!" shouted Elizabeth as they were catching up to the imps, just pass the imps was a girl sleeping on the ground, "It's a girl."
"Oh no you don't think they're going to attack that little girl, do you?" asked Hawk.
"We're not going to let them hurt a little girl," said Elizabeth as she and Hawk kept running.
"Uh guys, I don't think that girl is little." stated Damian as he and the others slowed down to a walk.
"Huh?" They both then noticed that the girl wasn't small, she was just far away. "She's big!"
"Lady Diane, please wake up." begged the imps. "We have an emergency."
"Looks like we found her," said Merry.
"Lady Diane the Holy Knights are here."
Suddenly the giant girl's eyes shot open as she slammed a large hand on the ground and slowly stood up revealing to everyone that the towering girl was a giant. "Holy Knights are here?"
"Uh wow, she's big." commented Hawk.
"Were not-" but before Merry could finish a giant hand swiped up Meliodas.
"She has Meliodas," stated Damian as they looked up to see that Meliodas was in her hand, "Should we be concerned?"
Meliodas wasn't concerned at all. "Hey Diane, how's it going?"
Diane brought Meliodas closer to her face, taking a good look at his face before stars appeared in her eyes, "CAPTAIN!" she yelled with joy. "CAPTAIN, CAPTAIN, CAPTAIN, CAPTAIN, CAPTAIN!"
"Yeah I think we're going to be fine." said Merry as they watched the giantess begin to hold Meliodas to her face.
"Wait a minute, this pigtailed giant is one of the Seven Deadly Sins, the Sin of Envy, Diane." said Hawk in shock about this revelation.
This got Diane's attention, "Oh Captain you thought of everything, even how much I love whole roasted pig."
"Ahh wait!" yelled Hawk as Diane reached for him.
Before Diane could grab him something strong stopped her hand. "Huh? What the? Who's holding my hand?"
"Hey could you hold on for one second?" asked Damian as he held Diane's large hand back, "That pig is with us."
"You know some roasted pig doesn't sound so bad right about now." Joked Merry.
"Merry!"
"I'm joking, I'm joking." said Merry as she floated up into the air. "Now Diane can we talk for a moment."
The sight of a girl floating in the air got Diane's attention and she moved her hand back away from Damian. "Whoa you're a mage…wait a minute." Diane looked closer to Merry, "Merlin? Is that you?"
Merry's face deadpanned, "No."
"Wait a minute, who are you guys?" asked Diane as she got a good look at the group.
Elizabeth cleared her throat, "Hello there Lady Diane, I am Princess Elizabeth and I ask you for your aid in helping to stop the Holy Knights."
Diane blinked as she looked down at the princess. "Huh, a princess?"
"We have quite a bit to catch you up on," said Meliodas, "But can you put me down first."
Diane put Meliodas down and listened to their tale and Elizabeth's request. "I see so you guys are trying to get the Seven Deadly Sins back together, I see I had no idea." she then turned to Hawk, "Sorry, I thought you were a gift snack from the captain, my bad little piggy."
Hawk got annoyed, "I'm not a snack lady." Diane's eyes narrowed at the group. "Uh don't even try it or my momma is going to get you."
Diane bent down lower to look at Elizabeth and Merry. "And you two, what is your relationship with the captain?"
"Huh?" went both girls with Elizabeth blushing and Merry trying not to laugh.
Elizabeth quickly raised her hands and shook her head, "What no, I just met Meliodas we have no such relationship I assure you."
Merry couldn't help herself and just started laughing, "Are you kidding me, no just no. I want to live and I'm nowhere near that crazy."
"Why do I feel like I was just insulted," asked Meliodas, "Anyway Diane, me and you don't have any relationship like that either you know."
"Aww, captain." whined Diane, slightly heartbroken.
"I'm just going to help Elizabeth and the Virtues stop the Holy Knights and gather the Sins along the way."
"Well if that's the case then I'll come along as well," said Diane as she stood up tall, "You'll have the help of the Serpent Sin of Envy, the Giant Diane."
"Alright." cheered Elizabeth.
"Welcome aboard." greeted Damian.
"One down, and we know where a few more are at," said Merry, "The closest one is at Baste prison."
"We're going to reunite the sins in no time."
"She's leaving!" cheered the imps. "Hurry! She's been threatening us for so long, we're finally going to have some peace and quiet in our home again."
"Wow it sounds like those guys had it rough." said Hawk before noticing something in the sky, "Hey those clouds is it going to rain?"
All of them looked up to see a swirl of thunder clouds above them right before lightning struck them from above but it didn't hit any of them as it wrapped around everyone there including the imps, restraining them in place. "Hey what's going on?" asked Hawk, "I feel numb."
"We're trapped," said Elizabeth as she knew what this was, "This is your power, Gilthunder!"
Suddenly the sound of metal footsteps got their attention as they all turned to see a pink haired Holy knight approaching them with a steel serious look on his face. "So we finally meet you, Deadly Sins."
"Not all of us are sins." stated Merry.
"Gilthunder!" seethed Elizabeth, "I can't believe you. I saw what you did to that village, how could you?"
"You know this guy?" asked Meliodas.
"Yeah my sister's soon to be ex boyfriend!"
The statement caused Gilthunder's face to break, "I…what?"
"You heard me, once we save my family I am going to tell my sister everything you've done and she'll never want to date you again." she announced.
"We never…," Gilthunder wanted to argue but it was clear that her words were hitting hard. "We never dated, Elizabeth."
"But clearly you liked her, right?" asked Merry somewhat curious.
Gilthunder looked at Merry, "Who are you, you don't look like any of the Sins."
"That's because we're not." said Damian as he stepped forward and easily broke out of the lightning restraints.
Gilthunder's eyes widened as he looked at Damian, 'I've used those restraints to break up fights amongst the Holy Knights and he broke them with ease.' He watched as Damian pulled out a small hand sickle and remembered a report he read, "You, you were the one that reportedly launched sir Twigo across the land, who are you?"
"I am one of the Seven Lively Virtues," Damian raised the small hand sickle as the blade extended before rotating upright, forming a long curved sword. "Damian the Dog Virtue of Humility."
Gilthunder unsheathed his blade and pointed it at Damian, "I've never heard of your order but if you side with the Seven Deadly Sins, then you will be an enemy of the Holy Knights."
"I don't mind, I've seen what you call justice and I find it to be a bold lie. I have no problems fighting such evil justice." Damian's words clearly cut into Gilthunder from his reaction, "If you do not want to fight, then I suggest you leave."
"If you don't wish to die, then I suggest you leave," said Gilthunder as he infused his sword with lightning, "My business here is with the sins."
"No."
"Die then." As Gilthunder sent a blade of lightning at Damian who in kind sent his own blade of lightning right back at Gilthunder causing the two attacks to cancel out. 'He copied my attack!' While Gilthunder was still shocked, Damian dashed forward with a strike, but was quickly blocked and countered by Gilthunder which became a quick flurry of strikes between the two. Whenever Gilthunder attempted to use his magic, Damian would use the same magic back at him. That was when Gilthunder noticed something and jumped back and canceled his magic around his sword, the moment he did was the moment the lightning magic around Damian's sword faded. "I see, so you aren't copying my ability, are you? When I cut my magic off, you no longer have that ability to use it."
Damian then turned to see that the others were still restrained, "I see so even when you shut off your magic, your restraints are still in place, makes sense, that sword in town still was sealed in the ground even after you left. Though what you say is correct, I do not copy your ability, I merely reflect the abilities that are around me. That is my power, Moonlight."
"I see," Gilthunder then came up with a plan. "Then how about this!" Gilthunder then blasted the ground in front of him with lightning before quickly shutting his magic off and hitting the rocks as hard as he could. 'His magic allows him to reflect my power but judging from his reaction to the restraints he can't reflect power that has already been casted upon objects and is no longer affected by the caster.'
"Very clever, not many have picked up on that fact so quickly," said Damian as he just got his sword ready to strike. "But you forgot one thing, you aren't the only sun here." he then swung his sword at the rocks.
Suddenly the rocks reversed direction and went right back at Gilthunder with twice the force, shocking the man, "Thats!"
"That's the captain's power!" shouted Diane.
Gilthunder was forced to use his power to block the rocks causing smoke to fill the area. Gilthunder then saw someone through the smoke, "You can't sneak up on me!" Gilthunder then froze as he saw Elizabeth standing right in front of him. "Elizabeth!" The girl in front of him then grabbed his arm and pushed him against a tree before pointing her blade at his throat. Damian then dropped the spell revealing himself, causing Gilthunder to get angry. "Coward!"
"Sorry." was Damian's only response as he held Gilthunder.
"Damian turned into me," said Elizabeth in shock.
"He used the imps ability." stated Diane
"So that's how he knew." said Meliodas, "When those imps were using their abilities early, he could tell thanks to his power."
"Yep," said Merry, "His power allows him to use the power of others around him, so he can always tell where the power is coming from. He's not restricted to the powers of just the person he's fighting."
"I call it my Pack Howl," said Damian, "Unless everyone around me shuts off their power, I'll always have something to use. Sorry, I know this is unfair but this is the power I was just born with and I need to use it to fulfill my goals, so I will be using it to the fullest extent. Please surrender and walk away, I'd rather not hurt you."
Gilthunder looked directly into Damian's eyes, "I too have goals and I can't give up here. Not until I surprise Meliodas and avenge my father will I surrender or die." Gilthunder then used his free hand and placed it on the tree behind him, striking it with lightning. It distracted Damian for just an instant but long enough for Gilthunder to move out of Damian's reach. Gilthunder then began to attack Damian over and over again with non magical attacks as they resumed their duel but Damian kept matching each strike and narrowly dodging all of Gilthunder's attack. 'Even without magic, I'm still losing.'
"Damian is good," said Meliodas. "Even without any magic powers he's still able to keep up with Gil."
"That's because of his ability." said Merry as she decided now would be a good time to break out of the restraints, "Ah there we go, much better." as she patted herself down.
"You could get out this whole time!" shouted Hawk.
"What do you mean?" asked Meliodas, "Gil's not using his power, so shouldn't Damian not be able to use his."
"If you put a candle in front of a mirror, it will still be there even if there is no flame, sure it would still be hard to see but it's still there. Just like the moon, just because on some nights we can't exactly see it, doesn't mean it's not there. Damian's ability allows him to alway fight someone on equal footing, power doesn't matter, but when the moon is out he will always be a step above the rest."
"Huh," Diane looked at Damian dueling, "How strange, it kind of reminds me of Escanor and his ability."
"I don't think it would be wise to bring that up to him though." suggest Meliodas.
"Hey I got a good idea," said Hawk, "HOW ABOUT GETTING US OUT OF HERE!"
"Calm down porkchop," said Merry as she raised her hands, "I'll get you out-" Suddenly Merry froze in place as a look of fear was on her face.
"Hey what gives, you gonna get us out or not?" Asked Hawk.
Damian disengaged Gilthunder and quickly turned to the group. "MERRY!" he shouted concerned, "Are you okay? Your magic power just vanished."
"It's coming!" she said with her voice laced with fear. "I thought I had more time, it shouldn't have been this close."
"What's coming?" asked Meliodas.
Merry ran up to Elizabeth and started pulling on her restraints, "Guys hurry up and stop pretending to be trapped, we gotta get out of her before-"
"OINK! OINK!"
"Oink oink?" repeated the group aside from Merry who began shaking in fear.
Suddenly a massive creature began bashing through the forest, knocking every tree down in its path. Suddenly those who could feel magic power felt a massive wave of magic hit them, Meliodas and Diane immediately broke out of their restraints. Suddenly a massive hulking figure emerged, it looked like a large pig man that was easily bigger than a human wielding a large trident, wearing barbaric armor. "I've found, fake Merlin. Oink Oink!"
"What the hell?!" asked Damian, not entirely sure what he was looking at.
"What is that thing?" asked Gilthunder just as bewildered.
Meliodas gave the large pig monster a confused look, "Uh Merry?"
"DORF!" screamed Merry.
"Oink, Oink, you can run fake Merlin but you can't hide from me," Said the pig monster Dorf, "In the name of real Merlin you die today, fake Merlin."
"For the last time Dorf, my name is Merry!" shouted Merry.
Dorf ignored this as he powered up his Trident with magic and lunged at Merry, "OINK OINK!"
Meliodas jumped in front of Merry and used his blade hilt to counter the monster, "Counter!" causing the large beast to hit the ground and roll back a bit. "Is this the creature you mentioned Merry."
Merry nodded, "Yep. Though I may have also forgotten to mention that whenever this thing shows up, I can't use any form of magic at all."
"What!" yelled Meliodas as he turned to Merry, "You can't use any magic at all!"
"I told you this thing was created by Merlin to kill me!"
"Oink, Oink," said Dorf as he stood up, "Impressive tiny human, but out of my way, fake Merlin dies today. Oink Oink!"
"Yeah that's not going to happen." said Meliodas, "She's a friend and protected by the Seven Deadly Sins which by the way, Merlin is a part of so if you don't want to anger your master I suggest you stand down."
Dorf tilted his head slightly, "I haven't seen Merlin in over a hundred years, Oink Oink. I've never heard of these Seven Deadly Sins and I won't let you stop me from completing my goal, of killing fake Merlin, Oink Oink."
"Then that just means you're going to have to go through, us." said Diane ready to fight.
The pig monster then pointed at Meliodas and Diane. "I'm not scared of tiny human or fat human, Oink Oink!" As Dorf said the words Meliodas flinched, "It is you who should be scar-"
"What did you call me?"
"You heard me fat hu…" Dorf then realized he was looking up at Diane, "Tall human?"
The ground began to shake around them, Meliodas quickly grabbed Merry, Elizabeth and Hawk, and ran as fast as he could to clear the area. "I…am….NOT…FAT!" Before Dorf could Oink, Diane slammed her fist down on him and began to repeatedly punch the large pig monster into the ground causing massive tremors throughout the land. "I'M NOT FAT, YOU STUPID PIG!" yelled Diane as she continued to rain fist after first down on the stupid creature.
"Well I think your monster problem is solved." said Meliodas as they watched the onslaught.
"I wish," said Merry feeling somewhat relieved, "But that creature isn't exactly a living thing. It will just keep coming back unless Merlin stops him."
"I see," Meliodas then took a deep breath and shouted, "HEY DIANE!" Getting the very angry giantess's attention, "HAMMER TOSS THAT PIG!"
Diane smiled, "You got it captain." as she gave Meliodas a thumbs up.
"You cannot stop me, Oink." as Dorf's body began to repair itself slightly. "I am- OINK!" He was then grabbed by his arms by Diane as she began to spin him around and around. "OINK OINK OINK OINK!"
As this was happening Merry felt some of her power return, "Ah looks like he took enough damage that the anti magic spell is fading a bit." Merry then noticed Gilthunder was still near them and grabbed him with her magic.
"Hey, what the?" Gilthunder looked at Merry, "Put me down."
"No, you're leaving as well brat." As Merry lifted Gilthunder.
Gilthunder looked in time to see the belly of Dorf coming right at him as Merry lifted him right in the middle of Diane's swinging path. The impact was strong, sending Gilthunder flying across the land.
"Bye, Gil." waved Meliodas as the Holy Knight was sent out of sight before remembering something. "Wait, was that little Gil?"
Diane then threw Dorf in the opposite direction over the horizon. "OOOOOOOOOIIiiiink!"
"Nice throw." said Merry with a massive smile on her face seeing her life long enemy get tossed over the horizon. "Excellent work Diane." Merry then noticed the look on Diane's face, "What's wrong?"
"I'm not fat, it's not my fault all of you are so tiny." yelled Diane upset, clearly this wasn't the first time such a thing like this had happened.
"You shouldn't listen to him, Diane." said Elizabeth being supportive, "He is a pig monster and even though I'm not a giant even I can tell you're not fat at all."
This made Diane smile, "Ah thanks Elizabeth."
"She's right," said Damian as he put his weapon away, "I'm sure if you were our size you would look quite normal."
Diane raised an eyebrow as the girls looked at him confused, "Normal?"
"Yes, normal."
"You have no idea how to flirt, do you?" asked Meliodas.
"Flirting? What do you mean?" Damian asked, confused.
The idea occurred to Merry, "Actually that does remind me of something, I might be able to make such a thing possible." Getting everyone's attention, "Come, let's return to the Tea House."
~o~
Soon the whole group had made their way back to Hawk's mom and the Travel Turtle, Merry went to the back of her Tea Shop and grabbed a long looking rope with a large gem in the center of the rope. "Here wrap this around your arm and push the gem in the center."
Diane wrapped the rope around her left arm and pressed the gem like she was told, the next thing she knew she was suddenly shrunk down to the same general height as everyone else. "I'm tiny now!" said Diane, slightly stunned by the new height change.
"Yes it worked." said Merry, "This was my first attempt at making an item that altered the size of a giant."
"Why'd you make something like that in the first place?" asked Meliodas, "Seems kind of random to just have."
Merry got an annoyed look on her face, "Let's just say I met another giant not too long ago and I wanted to shrink him down so I could slap him in the face."
"What's that about?" asked Meliodas.
Damian shrugged, "I have no idea." He then looked at Diane who was looking around Hawk's mom and the surrounding scenery as a regular person. "Though I have to say it was interesting not being the tallest person around."
"Oh yeah, shrunken down, Diane's slightly taller than Elizabeth but not taller than you." said Meliodas. "Well you might not need to worry about that soon because we're getting Ban next and I think he's slightly taller than you."
"Really."
"So our next destination is Baste Prison." said Merry, "Alright I'll get the Travel Turtle up and moving. Elizabeth would mind helping me, I want to show you how it works incase of emergencies."
"Okay." replied Elizabeth.
"You go to," said Daine pointing at Damian before hugging Meliodas from behind, "It gives us some alone time."
Meliodas just got a slightly annoyed indifferent look on his face. "We should get moving, the faster we find the others the better." As he hoped Ban might be able to help him out.
~o~
In a dark secluded cell sat a man with stakes piercing his body humming a small tune, "Man, I'm really starting to get bored of this place, something exciting better happen soon."
