After my encounter with Klaus I rejoin Rebekah who is making drinks in the kitchen. "Drink? She offers.
"Please." I accept.
"You okay, you look a little flushed?"
I chuckle. "Oh I'm fine. Just mistook your brother's office for the restroom."
She stops pouring the drink and turns to face me a little worried. "You met Klaus?"
"For a brief second, but he pointed me to the restroom and now I'm here."
"Oh." She says. "I'm surprised he was so calm, he doesn't like people in his space."
"I barely saw anything, it's just a really dark room, that needs a little colour." I joke.
"It's not that bad love." Klaus says from behind us, startling us.
We both face him and he's eying me again and I feel that same energy from before. I grab the drink from Rebekah and skull it, hoping to distract my thoughts. "Wow." She chuckles. "Didn't take you for that type of drinker."
"Perk of living in LA I learnt some things."
"Excuse me. Dinner is served." Elijah announces entering the room.
We enter the dining room and there is large table is set up with an enormous feast. "Wow." I gasp. "I haven't seen a table set up like this in years."
"When we have lovely new guests we like to make them feel welcomed." A new face replies smirking. I roll my eyes as he makes his way to me. "Kol Mikaelson." He says introducing himself, grabbing my hand and kissing it.
I laugh loudly. "I don't think I have ever been greeted like that before, bit old fashioned isn't it."
He grins, "it's the gentleman in me."
"Sure." I laugh not even fazed.
"Shall we sit." Elijah suggests.
We all sit around the table making small chatter but I feel the constant pull of Klaus. I got the chance to take small glances at times. Why am I this caught up on someone I don't even know. "So Alyssa, Rebekah says you just moved to town." Elijah recalls.
"Yes, just on the weekend. I met Rebekah on my first day in the bathrooms, and instantly knew I liked her." I confirm.
"Likewise." Rebekah agrees.
"And your family?"
"It's just me and my dad. My mother passed when I was young so it's been us ever since."
"I'm so sorry."
"Don't be it was a long time ago."
"And is your dad the reason you moved here?" Kol asks
"Yes, he's the new chief at the hospital." I answer.
"So you must have lived all over then?" Klaus asks.
I turn to face him. "Yes, but I'm not in a place for to long. Two years is probably the longest I've ever stayed in one place."
"And here, how long will you be here?"
"Till I graduate and then I'm out."
"Where to?" Kol asks.
"I'll be travelling mostly, but then once that's over build some roots somewhere."
"I've travelled a few places, so you have to visit, Tokyo, Paris, London and Capris."
I smile. "They are definitely on my list of places to go."
"Is there anywhere that you loved living in?" Klaus asks.
"New Orleans."
They all gasp and turn to face me. "Wow."
"Have you been there?" I ask curious at there change in demeanour.
"Practically built the city." Klaus says jokingly, but there is truth behind it.
"New Orleans for us was the last place where we shared a home together." Rebekah explains.
"I haven't been back since I moved, and besides the death of my mother that made us leave. That was the only place I ever felt like I fit in." I smile.
"Likewise." Klaus agrees.
I turn to face him and smile. "So I hear you have all just moved here. Quite a place you've made yourself."
"Thank you, Mystic Falls is actually where we were all born." Klaus replies. "I wanted it to be a place where we could be as one."
"It's beautiful and I am extremely jealous, I thought I had a good closet but then I saw Rebekah's, and it's just not fair, so I'm officially moving in." I joke.
They all laugh "you can stay whenever you like." Elijah welcomes.
"Yeah there is a spare room next to mine." Kol teases.
"Kol." Rebekah and Klaus scold.
Kol chuckles. "Just teasing love."
Once dinner concludes Rebekah drops me back at my place. "Thank you for inviting me to dinner tonight." I thank her.
"You are welcome any time." She smiles. "My family love you already, so we are here for you."
"Thanks." I smile. "Maybe my dad was right."
"About what?"
"That this place isn't so bad."
She chuckles. "It is but with us here, we just improve it."
"It's getting late I better head in."
"Night Alyssa."
"See you tomorrow."
