Chapter 9

"What on earth are you taking about Doctor? Of course i am human! Are you going to tell me that i am an alien too like you!" Valerie answers to The Doctor was sitting in one of her lounge chairs "Good one Doctor!". Her remained slient, she then noticed this and stopped her giggling. Maybe on this occasion now was not the time to be laughing.

"You find this funny?" the Doctor asked sharply, Valerie began to feel embarrased and apologized for her behavour. "I must apologize for my childish behavour Doctor! Your serious an't you?" she asked him. She could see it on his face he was not telling some sort of lie or fantasy story. His face red "Its the truth, now listen to me! This is not some sort of silly game". Then Valerie thought about it, it would explain as to why she was adopted and why her parents or not her real parents. She was now loaded with questions!.

"If i am not human what am i? Am i an alien like you who looks like a human from the outside?" she asks him, "Well almost, your part time lord part human!" the Doctor explains to her. "If i am part time lord would that mean i have two hearts like you? Wait that cannot be, i've had many x-rays in the past and not once has a second heart appeared!" she shouted towards the Doctor. He quickly answered back to her "Earth technology do not always pick up a time lords second heart! You need proper alien and space technology for that!".

Valerie sat back in her butterfly chair and took a sip of her tea. "Ah you ok Valerie? Would you like me to continue?" the Doctor politely asked her, she nodded in slience after she asked a burning question that was on her mind "How do you know all this?". The Doctor took a deep breath and began to answer her question however this time his voice became low and almost sad sounding "Because your parents were best friends of mine!".

"My parents?" Valerie gentley asked the alien, the Doctor nodded but continued to look into his cup of tea. He then continued "Your parents were Rory Williams and Amy Pond and they use to come with me in the Tardis for many adventures!", Valerie eyes were now fixed on the Doctor and was enlighten to hear his story about her birth parents.

The Doctor went on the explain how he met Amy the girl with lushous red hair when she was a little girl then meeting up with her again when she was an adult. Valerie smiled as she looked up towards her own red hair. She then would join the Doctor on his adventures just like what Clara is doing now. Amy then went on to marry Rory who had been her long time boyfriend but before that she went down the aisle, she and the Doctor had to reboot the universe as Amy's life didn't make sense.

The Doctor explained about that cracks in time that were some how connected to Amy and how Rory had waited 2,000 for the girl he loved having died and been brought to live again but returned as a Roman. Valerie was shocked by the story and the Doctor kept asking if she wanted him to continue and she just simply asked him to go on.

"So how do i fit into the picture Doctor? I presume that after they got married they had me?" Valerie gentley asked the alien, he took another sip of his tea "Not exactly, are you ready for this?" he asked. "Ready? I was born ready! Please continue!" Valerie tells him confidently, however she soon finds that the Doctors story began to get dark and wasn't the happy story she thought it would be.

He went on to explain that she was concieved on the Tardis during Amy and Rory's wedding night. Then sometime after that Amy had been kidnapped and replaced with a ganger without him or her father Rory knowing. The Doctor had been concerned about Amy as she was acting a bit strange on a few trips saying "She felt sick" or "had pains in her stomach". He had been doing checks on her on the Tardis but was unable to figure out what was wrong.

Until the day, he and Rory found out she was a ganger the whole time but the ganger went into labour. The Doctor had distroyed the ganger that was impersonating Amy with his sonic screw driver and went on along with Rory to find the kidnapped Amy. Valerie asked who had kidnapped her and The Doctor explained it was a lady by the name of Madame Kovarian and The Slience and that they had taken Amy to an asteroid called Demons Run.

"What did this lady want from my mother?" Valerie cried "She was held prisoner because she wanted you and..." The Doctor was unable to finish has sentence, Valerie soon found that he was looking down at his last bit of tea in his cup. "Doctor?" she asked in concern "She wanted me and?", the Doctor then answered seriously "She wanted you and River, you have a sister Valerie!".

Valerie gasped and felt slightly horrified "I have a sister? That would mean i'm a, i'm a twin!", the Doctor nodded as he took the last sip of his tea. She then got up from her chair and began pacing around the room "This is, this is...", the Doctor then got up from his chair to calm her down "I know Valerie its a lot to take in! I'll understand if your finding this all a bit of a shock!".

She then turned to face him, "Valerie are you ok?" he asked her in concern "Are you kidding? I'm better then ok! This is amazing i have a twin sister somewhere out there!" Valerie shouted in joy. The Doctor was surprised and confused by her excited behaviour "Ok! Not quite what i expected!". She then placed both of her hands on both of his shoulders "I've never been so happy in my life!" she cried to him.

The Doctor froze and knew that there was more to the story. He knew all about River and he was uneasy about telling Valerie about her as it he was scared it would make her upset plus even worse having to tell Valerie about what has happened to her parents. "So tell me Doctor? Do you know her? River her name is? What she likely surely you guys have crossed paths at some point!" Valerie excitedly ask the alien.

The Doctor went as white as a sheet knowing its ethier now or never he must tell her the truth about her twin sister River. "Why don't we sit back down, i've got something to show you" he informed Valerie as they went to sit back down in the lounge chairs. The Doctor then reached into one of his jackets pockets. Valerie watched as The Doctor pulled out what looked liked a photo.

He handed it to her "This is River?" she asked quietly. The Doctor replied with a simple "Yes". The photo was an adult women with wild blonde curly hair and green eyes. Valerie could recongised the green eyes however the hair colour didn't quite make sense. "She had, had a few regenerations since! Thats another story!" the Doctor explained but he did convince Valerie that they would've looked the same when they were born.

He then went on how he knows River and how she became Professor River Song. Valerie was excited to hear that she had become a Professor like her. The Doctor then confessed that he loved her and that eventually River made become his wife. Valerie then screamed on top of her lungs "How exciting! Oh my gosh that means...your my brother in law! Could this day get any better! I knew we had some sort of connection when we first met!", she them leaped out of her chair and gave him a hug.

The Doctor gentley her a hug back but he wasn't finished with his story. "So can i meet her and my parents?" Valerie excitedly asked him, he immediately looked to the ground "Hmmmmm" he grunted. Valerie become concern she knew immediately that something was wrong and slowly her mood levels sank "Doctor what's happened to my sister and my parents?".

The Doctor began to speak "Your sister who's birth name is Melody Pond passed away a long time ago", "and my parents Amy and Rory?" Valerie quietly ask the alien "They have passed away too! I'm so sorry Valerie!" he answered as he apologized to her. She could see in his eyes that this was not easy for him. She even had tears in her eyes and was shocked by his news.

"Would you like me to explain how they all died?" The Doctor quietly asked her. Valerie could see all the trouble he had gone through to tell her. She didn't want to force him to tell as she could see he loved all three of them very much. She got up to grab a tissue box for the now crying Doctor. Tears were pouring from his eyes. "I'm so sorry Doctor, i didn't mean to make you upset, you can tell me another time" Valerie told the Doctor using a motherly tone.

The Doctor pulled out some tissues to wipe his tears. He apologized for his behaviour "Hey, no need to apologise Doctor! Hey i should be the one apologizing for laughing at you! I'm deeply sorry for that! she quickly tells him. The Doctor tried to smile but tears kept pouring from his face, Valerie helped him wipe his tears with a tissue while quietly whispering to him "Its ok Doctor, let it all out! I've got all the time in the world!".
