How Many Revelations Are There?
Awakening to the annoying rapping at her bedroom window, Katelyn rose from the comfort of her bed and opened the window to let the owl in. Taking the letter from the tawny bird, she saw that it was addressed to her, and it was from Gringotts. She then snapped her fingers, conjuring an owl treat, and pet her as she ate the food.
After seeing the owl off, Kate closed the window and was about to open the letter when she heard someone enter.
"The owl could've waited, daughter," Snape said, taking the letter from her and opening it himself. "I'd rather you not use magic to conjure up an owl treat when you can get one from downstairs, Katelyn."
Face turning pink, she went to grab the letter from her father, who lifted it from her reach as he read it. Kate stood back, inwardly smirking, as his eyes widened as he continued. She knew what the letter was about but knew Snape would flip his lid when he finished.
As soon as the reading was over, he folded the parchment and placed it in his pyjama pocket before turning to Katelyn and picking her up to where she was looking at him.
"Why do you need four vaults, daughter?" he sang, hands firmly gripping her waist.
"Because not even three is enough to secure my money," she joked.
"How does a thirteen-year-old have enough Galleons to fill even one vault, much less four."
Setting herself down, Katelyn replied. "Dahlia let us sell stuff we found on her island and some other things, legal of course."
"I see and what would that be?"
"Come with me and find out!"
Severus' eyes widened at her comment, but he nodded in agreement. "We'll leave at eleven, then," he kissed her cheek before leaving the room.
After doing some yoga and showering, Katelyn pulled her hair in a simple half up ponytail and dressed in a lavender flowy bohemian peasant top with bell sleeves, black pleather leggings, and black boots. Complimenting her looks with her signature Pikachu jewelry, Kate looked over her appearance one more time before heading downstairs for breakfast.
Severus put the plate in front of her the minute she sat at the table. Her mouth watered as she saw scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, and a bowl of fruit to the side.
"Thank you," she smiled before digging in.
He chuckled to himself before making his own plate.
Sure enough, 11:00 came by and the entire family was in Diagon Alley. Chloe had received a letter from Gringotts also, and Snape and Haley really wanted to know what was going on. So, they decided to all go and make a day out of it.
When they entered the building, they arrived at the front desk and asked to see Griphook. They were then led to a private office consisting of a conference table and comfy chairs. The table also had an array of biscuits, scones with jam and cream to the side, macaroons, and of course, tea.
Snape looked as he'd been slapped in the face as he looked at his daughters as they each grabbed a saucer and placed some food on it before pouring themselves tea. He did so himself as it was considered rude not to do so. Goblins believe that the guests should help themselves when refreshments were involved, and waiting would be considered a great offence.
The door opened and Snape raised his eyebrow upon seeing Lucius and Becky entering the room, to which Kate and Chloe snickered. Then, Paige, Lydia, K.C., and Lisa followed, with Griphook and another a goblin right behind them.
"Miss Snape, Miss Braddock, Miss Dawson, Miss Yaeger, and Mr. Gunden," Griphook stated. "We summoned you to discuss the matter of Greyback's bounty."
This caused Lucius' jaw to drop, and he looked to his daughter before locking eyes with Severus, who nodded in confirmation. Lisa looked as if she was bored out of her socket while Lydia and Haley grinned from ear to ear.
Lucius snorted, "The reward was a thousand galleons. Split it up!"
"Actually, since he was killed in America, his bounty increased dramatically," the other goblin replied, scratching the back of his head. "Up to 20 million Galleons, to be exact."
Everyone's jaw dropped at this, but the goblin continued, "Of course, they've donated 75% of the reward money to the Wizarding school in Virginia, the Magic School in Manchester, and Hogwarts. With a note that said to replace all the Quidditch teams' brooms."
Severus' raised an eyebrow at Kieran, knowing that the others never even set foot in Hogwarts, much less seen the brooms.
"Ragnok is correct," Griphook said. "So, each of them received a million Galleons in their account, in addition to their already vast fortunes."
Severus' mouth stretched open as he turned to Katelyn and Chloe, "How much money do you two have?"
"Muggle or Magical?" they chirped simultaneously.
"Wizarding world, first."
Katelyn and Chloe turned to the goblins, motioning them to explain.
"Well," Ragnok cleared his throat. "Katelyn Snape has 50 trillion galleons from treasure hunting in her first vault, 20 million in a second vault that her grandparents set up for her when she started university, 25 billion from her book sales in the wizarding world, and 5 quadrillion in a trust her mentor set up for her. Oh, this doesn't count the 500 octillion galleons that her grandparents set up for her when she turns 17."
Snape's eyes fell out of their sockets after hearing this, but continued, "How much in the muggle world?"
This caused Katelyn to slowly hide under the table. She knew if the galleons didn't phase her father, then this definitely would.
"She has £15 billion and counting in book sales alone," Ragnok chuckled. "Add in £20,000,000 from her grandparents for school costs and fun money."
"What?!" Severus and Haley shouted, the former reached under the table and pulled her back to her seat by her shirt. "You're a best-selling author?"
"Best-selling indie author," Becky added, causing Kate to blush. "Severus Snape and Haley Sertori? Meet Carina Rose, best-selling indie author of the muggle and wizarding world."
Haley's jaw dropped upon hearing that, "Are you kidding me? I love all your books! You leave me wanting more!"
Katelyn looked to her father, who would blush if he could, God, I love her books! Daughter, you talk, you die!
She made a zip motion to her lips in response before turning to the goblins, who moved on to Chloe's account.
"Miss Yaeger has 75 trillion galleons from treasure hunting, 5 quadrillion her mentor set up, 2 billion from her photography job with Twilight…"
"Woah, what!" Haley stood quickly. "You work for Twilight?"
"Since I was thirteen, why?"
Haley's jaw dropped at this revelation, "I work there too," she gasped. "but I started out in Australia. I just transferred here in March."
"I started in Edmonton but transferred here two weeks ago. I work in teen culture, comparing muggle and wizarding lifestyles around the world."
"Same here, but with adults and families."
Griphook cleared his throat before chuckling, "Twilight magazine is wealthier than The Daily Prophet. Chloe also has 2 million galleons from her late mother, and 50 trillion in a trust for her daughter, Carly."
Severus turned to Chloe with a smirk. "Already securing my granddaughter's future, daughter?"
"Of course. I want her to be free to do anything she wants. Not settle for a job she despises because she needs the money."
They actually found out that Chloe was also wealthy in the muggle world, thanks to savings and her mother's life insurance and inheritance. Chloe's mum came from a wealthy family who spoiled them both and Becky, who is also wealthy in both realms thanks to them, treasure hunting, and Dahlia. K.C. was pretty wealthy thanks to treasure hunting with the girls and Dahlia slipping a few billion galleons in his vault and Lisa's bank account. Since Lisa was a muggle and couldn't manage K.C.'s vault, she allowed Lucius to manage the wizarding funds and asked her to wait on finding a house.
Paige had the same amount galleons as Kate in treasure hunting and Dahlia. There are also some books she co-authored with Kate she got a few billion for, along with some money she earned dancing.
In the end, Snape and Haley took control of Katelyn's assets, Lydia took Paige's, and Lucius took Becky's and K.C.'s. Chloe was of age, so she still had full access to hers, but agreed to let Snape and Haley have equal access to Carly's account.
Afterwards, Snape took Chloe and Carly to change their surnames to his, while Lucius did the same for Becky. They then left the bank and walked returned to their respective homes, but not before Snape invited everyone to dinner later that evening. He also sent an owl to Sirius to bring Annie, Gemma, and the boys; however, Remus was not invited since Severus still wanted to kill him for not only threatening Lydia and Paige but forcing his daughter's hand.
When Haley and the Snapes returned home Mia pulled Katelyn to her room. "Do you know how to use a slow cooker?"
Kate rolled her eyes at this, "Yeah, why?"
"Can you cook the main meal and I'll do dessert? Please?"
After returning to the kitchen, Katelyn got out four super large slow cookers and chopped up some vegetables before evening them out into the pots before adding spices and water. Then, she took out four Pork shoulder roasts and seasons them before placing them in the cooker with the veggies, turning them on afterwards.
"I'm slow cooking dinner, mom and dad!"
Haley called from the sitting room, "Thanks, baby! Your father and I will be out in a minute!"
With that, the brunette ran up to her room and took a nap.
In the sitting room, Chloe was sitting across from Snape with her legs crossed and hands seated on her lap.
"So, you want me to move in right away?" she asked, sitting back on the couch.
Haley was gently rocking Carly in her arms and smiling at the bundle before turning to her stepdaughter. "Yes," Haley answered. "We have plenty of room for you and Carly. You don't have to pay rent, and you get 24/7 help with this little one."
"Okay," Chloe said, sitting back up again. "but why right away?"
Snape took a deep breath, "One," he stated. "you're my daughter and I have a lot of enemies. Once word gets out, then you girls and my granddaughter could be in danger. Two, you're seventeen and living alone? Doesn't sit well with me."
"Fine," she sighed. "Izzy and Amanda are the only ones on the lease, so I can move out no problem."
"Good, we can do this right away. The sooner the batter."
With that settled, Severus kissed Haley and Carly. Chloe hugged her future step-mother and kissed her daughter's forehead before grabbing her father's hand and apparating them to her apartment.
Three hours later, Kate was in her room napping when she was awakened by a kiss on her forehead, smiling when she saw Draco climbing in next to her and taking her in his arms.
"Good afternoon, my little girl," he smiled, kissing her on the lips.
Her lips curled into a smile as she stroked his cheek. "Hello, my dragon."
"Is this what you wore today?" he asked, eyeing her top and leggings, to which she nodded.
"Were you trying to flirt with the goblins?" he joked, pulling them both to where they were sitting.
Kate had to laugh at this. "No, but when I was in their bank in Boston, they showed more respect to customers who dressed a little more badass."
"And you figured they'd do the same here?"
"Well, she's right about that, Draco."
Both turned to see Lucius and Severus standing in the doorway before entering and sitting on her bed themselves.
"The goblins show more respect to a customer for dressing and acting confident," Lucius continued, setting his cane beside the nightstand. "Why do you think I dress the way I do?"
"Is that why you and mother have me dress in a suit whenever we have to go to Gringotts? Or why you didn't object to Rebecca wearing what she wore this morning?"
Katelyn laughed at the comment before smiling. She thought Becky was cute in her red mini dress, biker jacket, and ankle high boots. She could tell that Lucius was uncomfortable letting her leave the house like that but figured he knew what his daughter was aiming for.
"I knew your sister was gaining the goblin's respect," Lucius rolled his eyes. "but I had her change the minute we returned home."
Severus helped his daughter out of bed and guided her to the bathroom to freshen up. "I'll pick your outfit!" he slowly sang before shutting the door.
After showering and dressing, Katelyn and Mia were in the former's room gathering scrapbooks and a box containing vials of memories of the younger girl's life for the past eight years.
"I cannot believe dad insisted on picking out our outfits," Mia groaned, looking down at her blue cashmere jumper, brown corduroy skirt, and flats. "I'm not complaining, though. He has good taste, but pigtails?
Katelyn shook her head smiling as she looked at her attire: green cashmere jumper, grey short flowy skirt and white slip-on trainers. "I like it," she said, adoring her own loose pigtail braid. "He's overcompensating for the thirteen years he missed out on, fourteen if you count us chilling in the womb."
"Like I said, I'm not complaining, sis."
"As you shouldn't."
They jumped to see Draco walking in, taking Kate into his arms and sharing a kiss. "Everyone's downstairs," he said, grabbing the scrapbooks and box. "Let's go."
Grabbing a bag she needed, the trio departed downstairs with Draco wrapping an arm around her waist. She placed the items on the coffee table and went to check on the food.
With the scent of pulled pork in the air, the teen's mouth watered as she lifted the lids of each pot. However, her eyes widened to see that everything was nearly done. Holding up a hand, she was able to sense that magic was helping this along.
"It smells good in here!"
Recognising the familiar voice, Katelyn pulled out her wand as she whipped around to see Remus Lupin standing a few feet across from her, wand drawn.
"What the hell are you doing here, Lupus?" she shouted. "It'd better be to apologise to my friend and her mom."
Remus was rendered stunned for a minute before narrowing his eyes, "You can't use magic outside of Hogwarts," he sneered. "I'm sure Snape told you that."
"You know damn well that there are loopholes to that rule," she firmly countered. "besides, I'm not a Hogwarts student, nor do I have the trace. So, unless you apologised or plan to do so for almost hitting Lydia, get the fuck out of my house!"
Lupin was about to open his mouth when Becky came in and whipped out her wand upon seeing the werewolf.
"Get out of this house! Dad! Snape! We need help!" she shouted.
Sev, Haley, Sirius, and Lucius immediately ran into the kitchen followed by Lydia, Draco, Chloe, and Paige with their wands drawn and aimed at Remus.
"What are you doing here, Moony?" Sirius asked.
Snape rolled his eyes at the question, "Obviously threatening my daughter, Black!" he scoffed before turning to his daughter. "Katelyn, come this way."
Wand still aimed at Lupin, the brunette walked to her dad without breaking eye contact with the werewolf. Severus then placed her behind him while Lydia stepped forward, "Remus, how dare you threaten my daughter's friend?"
"I came here to apologise for trying to slap you, Lydia!"
Paige looked to Kate, who immediately shook her head. "He wants to duel me," she said before gasping and staring at him in horror. "You bastard!"
That's when K.C., Harry, and Annie rushed in with their wands drawn. Katelyn curled her free hand, causing Lupin to scream and writhe in excruciating pain.
Knowing she wouldn't do this without good reason, Draco placed a hand on her shoulder. "Katelyn, what did he do?"
Still holding the curse on Lupin, her blue eyes glowed electric. "He sicked Greyback and his mutts on us!" she screamed.
"That was you?!" Lydia shrieked. "You sicked that paedophile on our children?"
Snape put his hand on Kate's shoulder, "Let him go, daughter."
She lifted her hand and clenched her fist, lifting Lupin's pain infliction, before being led away by her fiancé and the rest of the teens to the sitting room.
When the kids left, the parents turned to Remus, who had just recovered from Katelyn's magical brain aneurysm. As he was getting up, he growled, "That little bitch!"
He found himself huddled over in pain again, this time by Severus, who held the curse for a few minutes before letting up. He and Haley walked over to self-loathing lycanthrope, where they both kneeled to his eye-level.
"Call my daughter a bitch again," Snape snarled through gritted teeth. "and I'll Sectumsempra your body parts to different continents of the world! Got it?!"
Remus looked to Sirius for help, to which the latter shook his head. Then, he rose to explain himself. "I only alerted him to scare them off," he held his hands up. "I heard they were gunning for him and knew I would miss my chance. So, I sent an anonymous message. I didn't know one of them was my daughter!"
Severus punched his face in retaliation. "They were still children, you whelp!" he shouted.
"Not to mention that my daughter and our Pup grew up with them," Sirius roared, stalking towards him with a deadly glare. "If they'd been killed, it would've destroyed Harry and Annie!"
Haley then stepped closer, sporting a look that would even scare dementors off the planet. Taking a deep breath, she aimed her wand at Remus, who was probably about to piss himself.
"Antarcticam sine vestibus mittere!" she shouted.
Just like that, Remus was gone, and his clothes were left behind. Severus turned to his girlfriend/mother of his children posting a smile on his face. "You sent him to Antarctica without his clothes?"
"And his wand," Lydia sang, holding it out. "I disarmed him right before you sent him to nature's freezer."
Everyone laughed at Lydia's sneakiness especially Snape, who went to check on the food.
"Dinner's ready!"
The teens, Gemma, and Lisa were outside to get some needed air and to calm down from the confrontation with Lupin. Paige was under a tree lying across Katelyn's lap enjoying having her hair stroked by her Alpha while Annie was holding her hand. Kate was leaning back on her Dragon's chest, loving the warmth of being wrapped in his arms. Harry and Dudley were sparring to purge their anger, while K.C., Mia, and Jenna were lying on the grass.
Chloe, Becky and Narci were playing with Carly and watching the boys fight the negativity out of their system. Kate would've joined them but comforting Paige and calming herself was her main priority.
"I think they got rid of Lupin," Paige sniffed, smiling at Katelyn's tenderness.
The brunette chuckled softly, "Mommy sent him to Antarctica without his clothes."
"Those poor penguins and seals! Looking at him will make them sick."
"I think they'll attack him for indecent exposure!"
Everyone stopped what they're doing to see Snape walking towards the tree and kneeling to Paige.
"Are you alright, Paige?" he asked, helping her to her feet before doing the same to his daughter and future son-in-law.
Shaking the dirt off her clothes, Paige nodded as Katelyn kissed her cheek and pulled her to her chest, "I just can't believe he put us in danger like that," she whispered, sobbing immensely. "How could he do that to kids?"
"He was seeking revenge and glory and wanted you out of the way to get it, no matter the risks!" Severus stated, leading them towards the house before announcing to the others. "Dinner's ready. Everyone inside."
With that, everyone went back in the house and washed up for dinner.
