Clone Force 99, a.k.a. The Bad Batch, was no stranger to dangerous missions. They'd face Yalbec males, gundarks, bouncy hunters, and battle droids. But, at the moment, they were on what was perhaps their most dangerous mission ever: babysitting.

There were a lot of grandkids in the royal family of Solaris. Boba, Omega, Lamenta, Gabby, the baby twins Luke and Leia, and little Charlotte. And, there was also Garrett and Mariposa's two children Mona and Goldie.

The children's grandparents Qui-Gon and Shmi, Aunt Kara, as well as Anakin and Padme were away at a Republic conference, and Uncle Carmine and Aunt Caroline were away performing a private concert at a socialite heiress' sweet sixteen party. Garrett was also called in for a meeting with the Enchantra High Commission regarding going over his progress with Solaris' royal family, and Mariposa went with him. Everyone had to leave at the last minute, and finding a babysitter that soon was no easy task.

Obi-Wan wouldn't be able to get a shuttle from Mandalore to Naboo that soon, Mace and Brenda were having a date night and left Myra to babysit Kade, Ahsoka had to take Turha to the dentist while their parents were away, Padme's parents and her sister Sola were all away too.

So, before they all left, Anakin saw Hunter and his brothers as they were freshened up after another mission, and he went up to him and said, "Hunter, I know this is kinda last minute, but do you think you and your squad would mind babysitting for the night?"

Hunter looked at the kids as they were just innocently doing their homework and figured, how hard could it be?

"I think we can manage, General." Hunter said.

"Are you sure?" Padme said. "Because there are only five of you and nine children."

"Ha! We once faced a million Yalbecs." Wrecker laughed. "We can handle a bunch of kids."

"I hope you all know what you're getting into." Garrett said. "The children look innocent now, but trust me, when they're ready to play, they basically become wild animals."

"We can manage as long as we each take turns looking after at least two children at a time." Tech said.

"I looked after Gabby lots of times when she was smaller." Echo said. "Now that she's older, I'm sure she's not quite as wild as before."

But little did Echo and the rest of the Batch know how wrong they were.

"Gabriella! Goldie! This isn't funny anymore!" Tech exclaimed, chasing the two girls around the couch as they were playing Keep Away with his tablet.

The kids were all over the place! They were all messing about, playing around, and giving the Batch a hard time.

"Come on! Come on!" Lamenta said, piggyback riding Wrecker as he was running after Omega who was playing Keep Away with Lula.

"Omega, give me back Lula!"

"You gotta catch me first!" Omega said. "Or Lula. Boba!"

And Omega tossed it to Boba.

Mona was giving Hunter a hard time by flying around and randomly popping out at him and tickling him.

"Mona! Stop that!" Hunter exclaimed as Mona tickled him again.

Crosshair and Echo both felt like collapsing as they placed the babies back in the playpen.

"There we go. All clean and changed." Echo said.

Hunter got a whiff of the air and held his nose. "Not quite."

Echo and Crosshair checked on the babies and confirmed who was the stinker.

"Ugh! Charlotte, not again!" Crosshair groaned.

Luke also chose that moment to start crying, prompting Echo to pick him up and start patting him on the back.

"How does General Skywalker look after all of you all the time?" Echo said, amid Luka spitting up on him.

"To be fair, there are usually a group of parents here." Crosshair said, taking Charlotte back to the changing table.

The kids were really getting restless. Fortunately, they seemed to calm down when dinner was served. None of them could resist mac and cheese. But, getting them ready for bed was another story.

"Kids, I'm serious! It's bedtime." Hunter said. "Everyone needs to get ready for bed now."

"It's not even a school night!" Boba said, cartwheeling across the room.

"Nevertheless, you children all require your rest." Tech said.

"But we're not tired!" Goldie said.

That was pretty clear; the kids were all still wide awake, ready to play, not looking or feeling sleepy at all.

The Batchers all sighed. The kids weren't tired, but their babysitters were tired.

"What would their parents do in a time like this?" Wrecker asked.

It was then that Hunter had an idea. He went to a bookshelf and grabbed a book.

"Hey, kids. How about a story?" Hunter said.

That caught the kids' attention. They all loved storytime. Seeing as he had the children's attention, Hunter cut a deal.

"If you'll all get into your pajamas and brush your teeth, we'll read you a story before you go to sleep."

So, while Echo and Crosshair got the babies into their onesies, the older kids all got themselves into their pj's and brushed their teeth before gathering in the den to hear the story.

"Alright, everyone." Hunter looked at the book he grabbed. "The story we're gonna be reading tonight is…. Sleeping Beauty."

"Hopefully that's a story that makes kids sleepy." Wrecker whispered to Echo.

"Actually, it's a story about a princess who falls asleep after pricking her finger." Echo said.

"Why would a needle put someone to sleep? Wouldn't that hurt?"

"It's a magic needle." Gabby said. "You'll understand it once the story is told."

"If there are no more interruptions." Hunter said. He cleared his throat and opened the book. "Once upon a time…."
