Synopsis
Hyun Woo fell in love with Soo Yeon at first sight in college and they have been married for 8 years. He thought he had the perfect family, with Soo Yeon, who is a beautiful wife and a good mother to his beloved son… Do Joon Soo. Then one day, Hyun Woo sees a hotel reservation message sent by a male stranger on Soo Yeon's phone. Even though he tries not to think about it, proof after proof is revealed, which confirm that his wife is indeed having an affair. Since he firmly believes that he is a good husband and father, he can't seem to forgive his wife. He blames her for putting the family in danger but then starts thinking, "Have I been a good husband to my wife?"
What went wrong ….. Whose to blame?
Before those questions can be answered a character analysis of each needs to be shown.
Do Hyun Woo been described as a good man who can be indecisive and whose mind gets filled with imaginative ideas though good for his career but self defeating when it comes to his married life in that he remained clueless when it came to his wife and her cries for help.
Jung Soo Yeon was in everyone's eyes the ideal wife and mother. Her looks especially her body would catch every man's fancy. However she was a weak and timid person that needed affirmation in her everyday life. She allowed herself to be intimidated by other mothers in her son's school that would place duties on her that they themselves did not want to do. Trying maintain the perfect wife and mother status took it's toll on her when she started loosing herself and came to the realization " What about me?
The 12 episode series evolved from suspicion of infidelity , to it's confirmation and the aftermath whereby the once so called happy family becomes decimated with angry accusations of betrayal and Jung Soo Yeon's inability to explain herself caused Do Hyun Woo to become a crazed lunatics desperately seeking answers as to why did this have to happen.
To get a better understanding of each of their positions one only needs to read their respective on line posts that got everyone talking and providing their comments that further exasperated Do Hyun Woo's thinking and eventually led to the decision to agree to the divorce that Jung Soo Yeon thought would stop both of their pain and further hurting each other.

My wife is having and affair this week. What should I do? I received courage from your comments. Using our wedding Anniversary, I'm going to have a serious talk with her. Our couple life … A couple that will never break. I wanted to run into the hotel room and beat him…but more than that , I wanted to show him how much I loved my wife. We can just get a divorce, then let's divorce. I ran out because I believed that my wife would follow me out. However, nothing happened. This time, I will talk to her while looking at her in the eyes. Either way , I want to be honest with her and know if I wronged her. If I did something wrong, I should fix it. I hope to stand anew with my wife. In the end I chased her away. However, I still don't know if I was right in doing so…. I'm the broken one, and I'm the one in pain…. I'm the victim and you both are the perpetrators.
A family is never perfect to begin with. I think I've come to understand that we embrace each others weaknesses and come together as one.
Do Hyun Woo's last ditch effort to save them from divorce came when he attempted to get her to stay after the second birthday celebration that their son had wanted.
Do Hyun Woo: You're really a bad woman….. Jung Soo Yeon, you're really a bad woman…..Do You know that? You're shameless, the worst…. But I'm way worse. After we got married…..No…. After Joon Soo's birth, I don't think I ever tried to understand you properly. I'm sorry for just passing you by when you were occasionally looking out the window mindlessly. During the time you had to exchange your high heels for loafers…. I'm sorry you had to go through it alone. We never fought in our eight years of marriage,…. We thought we were getting along well. I even bragged to others about it. There was so much I didn't know.
Jung Soo Yeon: Don't be like this…. The one who should be apologizing is me. I gave you and Joon Soo too much of a scar.

Soo Yeon's eyes filled with tears allows her husband to embrace her but then realizes his hesitation as the flashback of seeing Ji Sun Woo's face next to her and he pulls back. The same thing happens with a second attempt . The words " Can you forget that your wife was in some else's embrace"

Jung Soo Yeon: I understand… Her betrayal was to much for him to forget…. Divorce is their only option now.
The scriptwriters allowed Jung Soo Yeon to be brow beaten and humiliated throughout the twelve episodes keeping her quite as to the reasons she did it. Even with her angry response when she had had enough she lashed out …..Yes , she slept with him… that she pursued him because she couldn't wait to be with him was another plea from her that she could no longer take this great pain that she inflicted on herself and her family.

Jung Soo Yeon: I don't know how to start…. Yes, I'm the cheating wife . It seems like a lot of you have read my husband's post. I've read it as well. There are a lot of things that my husband worded in a nice way out of consideration for me…. Because my husband is a warm person like that. I didn't sit in front of a computer to make excuses for myself…. But it was hard for me to just sit by and watch. My husband be the only one rained with criticism. We got a child as a present and that's how our family came to be. After my maternity leave ended, we decided to send our child to daycare after he turned one year old. So I left my baby at daycare When I haven't had a chance to change a diaper for him once. I was trying my best for the child, but it seems as though it wasn't enough. Even as I watched him become lonelier, I may have ignored it because I'd already reached my limit.
I don't want to be lacking in any area, but I have failed as a mother and as an employee. These days it's said that if a mother is an outcast among the other mothers then her child will be an outcast too. So for the child, I tried to fit in with the other children's mothers, even though I realized that I was late. However, that wasn't easy. On weekdays, I would go straight to kindergarten after work. On Weekends, I would go to my child's friends birthday party or kid's cafes. On Holidays, I would go to musicals for children or amusement parks. I was trying so hard not to stick out too much at the gatherings of mothers that was so hard to get into.
As I spent time with my child like that, My hair that I used to be in a bob grew past my shoulders at some point. I thought it was fine because of my husband's assurance. Even though I woke up before my 6 AM alarm . I would leave first every day at 6 PM while being wary of my colleagues watching eyes. Staying on the bus for 16 stops, running for 2 hours like a short range runner in formal shoes. Even so I thought it was time for me. Before I met that person, that is. That day had been a week since my shoe's sole fell off and I still haven't had time to get it fixed. That person was someone I already talked to multiple times through meetings. During the two hours that that person granted me a present, I could finally read my book. As I read the book, I realized this… while it only took two hours to read this book, I was living without liberty of having two hours to myself. Yes, when I was with that person, I forgot my husband, my child, my work.
Emotions, like guilt and feelings… sorry didn't ever exist…like a child running after escaped balloon. If my husband hadn't shown up at the hotel that day, I would have still been wandering the streets. Our relationship was like reading a book which the ending you already knew. The ending had already been decided and that ending was too obvious and traumatizing. After that incident it happened exactly the way my husband worded it. I brought up divorce first, and I left the house first. I gave up first. However, there is one thing my husband left out in his post. My Husband didn't give up. He is the person that tried to protect his family, no matter what. My husband tried to forgive me for throwing my family away until the very end. I know that my husband decided on divorce so that I could be a little bit more comfortable, until the very end. I am the selfish wife. I was a bit surprised at the fact that divorced life wasn't much different. It still is a war every morning. In my relief…..It seems as though my husband is adjusting to the divorce. I realize that this post has become to long as I'm writing. I'm sorry. Even though he is frustrating, indecisive … he has always been sincere. Everything is entirely my fault. I hope that you'll take back your criticism toward my husband and support him. Thank you for everything.
With the divorced in the stage of being finalized and Do Hyun Woo's anger subsiding ….. the question for Jung Soo Yeon remains was that two hours worth the price that she paid to have it received it, especially from the one that betrayed her even more in the end.
The series comes to and end with Do Hyun Woo's thoughts being told as he is running towards his new life . The scriptwriter still proposed a question mark until the very last scene.
Do Hyun Woo's Thoughts: I didn't have the courage to leave my wife behind. I was scared of forgetting my wife and of being forgotten by her… so I was constantly looking back after I left her. Now, I've finally got the courage to leave that place behind. I'm going to leave her alone. I'm not going to care anymore. Anyway, the person who is important to me right now….. I hope she can forget the old" me" the foolish " me". I hope that this " Me" will be forgotten at that place.
The look on Soo Yeon's face gives the answer to the last line of the series….. " This week , my wife and I are beginning a new story"
Episode 13
For this new story to begin Some basic questions need to be considered prior to reconciliation.
1. Do I love my partner?
Love was never a problem for either of them however the longer they stayed married the stagnation of their complacency introduced a stumbling block that made both of them trip over each other … recommendation they both need to give each other the attention they need and want… whether vocally, sexually or simply implied.
2. For the cheater: Have I developed healthy coping mechanisms to manage stress and emotions?
Jung Soo Yeon need to be everything to everyone at the expense of her own well being left her vulnerable to a predator. The fact that she no longer liked herself or what she allowed herself to become sent up red flags to those that could easily manipulate her. She needs to be able to say" no" when she is overwhelmed by others. She can't assume that Hyun Woo can read her mind since she already knows he has a hard time reading his own mind.
3. For the victim: Can I forgive my partner, or will the betrayal always stand between us?
Do Hyun Woo needs to show her how much she is loved both physically and emotionally …. His lackadaisical carefree attitude that she's the woman that can handle everything at home put a great deal of pressure on her to what she couldn't . She on the other hand can't stay quite and needs to tell Do Hyun what he needs to do for her. They both would admit that they each betrayed the other that would put them on equal footing and moving forward without a rear view mirror.
4. Are we better together or apart?
The old adage" the grass is never greener on the other side" certainly applies to both of them . Do Joon Soo pays the biggest price for them being apart especially at his young age. Hyun Woo got a wake up call when he talked to his ex girlfriend that made him feel that he was as much trash as those he was complaining about
5. Am I happier with my partner?
Substitutes are never like the real thing….. Ji Sun Woo though he appeared to be impressive was probably a younger version Choi Yoon Ki since he was willing to cheat especially with two small children at home…. Soo Yeon paid a heavy price for meeting this guy. As hard as Do Hyun Woo tried whether revisiting his ex girlfriend Joo Hee or the new divorce neighbor neither could match what he has with Soo Yeon.
6. Have we communicated honestly and openly about the issues that led to the affair?
Communication was the biggest problem for both of them. As well as they communicate at work they should both take those lessons and bring them home.
7. Can we trust each other again?
Trust will be their biggest obstacle….. as Eun A Ra demonstrated so ethically in getting her revenge of her philandering serial cheater Choi Yoon Ki. Once they both let go of what they both did to bring them to this point…. Their reward may become better that what they initial started out with. Trusting each other means allowing the other person to be the individual that they are.
8. Are we willing to put in the work to rebuild our relationship?
Destroying what they had which was built on a foundation of sand crumbled so easily with their first major crisis. Now that they know each others weaknesses and lay down a better foundation of communication, attention, compliments and greater forms of intimacy their house has a greater chance of withstanding whatever storm comes their way.
9. Do we need professional help to navigate the healing process?
Other peoples advice can at times become a bigger hindrance in that everyone has opinions but they are not in the same situation Hyun Woo and Soo Yeon know each other better than anyone…. They need to talk to each other and most importantly listen to what the other has to say.

With both of their hearts pounding as they embrace their new beginning they walk away with their arms around each other.

They enter the civil service bureau and present their ID's

Hyun Woo: We would like to stop our divorce … it is to be final this week and we no longer want to be divorced… can you help us?

Attendant : Let me pull up your files… Their is a footnote … Why are these two getting divorced?….. are you absolutely sure…. Once I delete this ruling you will have to wait another year to refile.

Attendent pushes the delete button: You remain married….. you can't come back and change your mind again.

Ji Sun Woo: That last project that we did was very successful and my boss wants a repeat of it.

Soo Yeon: Are you crazy… please leave. Hyun Woo hearing his wife in distress mode rushes into the conference room.

As they are driving home Hyun Woo can't help himself and asks: I know… I promised you we would leave the past behind us….
