Aight Hello there people. 'Tis I, a nobody writer who likes writing whatever brain fart my amazing head can come up with while keeping me up at night.
First of, thanks for reading this (no seriously lol). This story was first published on Wattpad waay back when i was a High Schooler. And it's killing me of cringe everytime i go back to read it (God I was edgy as a kid). Anywayy, even tho it was all types of cringe inducing back then, i wrote it with care and passion. And i felt like, maybe i could improve it? To make a better version of the first fic i ever wrote. So here we are now with this. And boy was it a complete overhaul. Once I removed everything that made me hate my past self for even writing it, and fixed it, The story completely changed in it's entirety (only a handful of the previous plot is left lol). So kind of a Rewrite, and kind of standalone?
Next! I'm jus doing this for fun, just publishing this out here so that i can look back at it again in the future. Also to see if i got better at writing compared the before.
And finally, please just ignore writing errors. This is The first time i'm publishing stuffs on ff desite using it for years now. And God am i lost (also why the hell is the keyboard glitching when writing here? send help lol)
So what can you expect from this fic? Adventure, of course. This is a One Piece fanfiction after all. This is an Oc story, just saying cause a lot of people kinda hate that. Also, no pairing or romance. Not that i hate it, i just suck at writing any form of romance. Even the first version didn't have any form of romance whatsoever. What else? hmm humour? Or an attempt at it anyway.
Canon? what's that? Can i eat that?
And quick disclaimer! One Piece in it's entirety belongs to Eichiiro Oda, i don't own anything. Just the ocs i guess? Also, this was made for fun and for poeple to just enjoy, if it's not your jam that's completely fine, i ain't forcing anyone to read this. I appreciate criticism as long as they can help me improve, so go wild if yall want. I've Taken enough time, so i'm off. See Ya!
Dark. That was the first they thought when they opened their eyes. A complete void, devoid of any life or anything else for that matter.
They looked around. Nothing. They tried moving. That also resulted in complete failure. Wherever this was, they couldn't move, nor talk either. Frustration and panic starting to taking place inside them, they started to go back in their memories to understand how did they got here.
The person floating aimlessly in this void is a young adult known as Taku Delight. Aged 20 years old, he was already what society would call "trash". Indeed, from dropping out of college to not going out of his house anymore, Taku Delight wasn't countributing to society. His parents was at first understanding, trying to leave him some space thinking that that was what he needed, but as time goes and Taku still doesn't intend to go back to trying to take his life seriously, they grew desperate. At some point, he just lost contact with them. They were like strangers living in the same house.
For as to why he was in this void floating around without being able to move nor speak. Well, Taku Deligh just died. It was quite sad and... Well, pathetic, as he died in his sleep after his console fell on his head. He usually left it on the shelf above his bed, but that night after he did some cleaning, he didn't check twice if it was in a stable position. When he went to sleep, the console (A ps4) fell on his head. Unlucky him, he died on the spot.
'Guess i died. Well, been a while that i wished for that' The young man thought. If he couldn't speak, might as well just think 'Anyway, this the afterlife? Kinda... Empty?'
Well, if he knew it was going to be so boring, he would've prefered to live instead. But since there's nothing he can do about that anymore, he just let it go and accepted it. As this was going on, a flash of light suddenly appeared in front of him, and a voice directed inside his head started talking
"Hello, young one" A distorted voice entered his mind. If he had a body to react with, he would be yelling out of surprise right now. To bad he didn't
'Who the hell?' he thought. Well he tried to ask but forgot he didn't have a mouth to speak with
"From your point of view, i would be what you people call a 'god'"
There was a silence.
'... Ok. What?' Taku was a little bit taken aback right there. First, that voice could read his thought, that much was given since it answered his question even though he didn't speak. Next, he couldn't pinpoint what gender this being was, as one moment it would sound like a woman, then another like a man. He was pretty sure in the last part of it's sentence the voice sounded like an old man. Finally, a god?
"Indeed young one. Though, between my people and i, we do not address each other as such. We are just beings from several planes above mankind. But since we are responsible for your lives, your kind started to address us as 'god'" The voice continued, this time sounding like a child. That was weird but Taku didn't really care. Nor did he understand much of what the being said. For him, it was just 'someone above him naturally', and that pretty much explained everything
'Ok. Sure. A god then. Did you need anything from me?'
"You do not fear me?" The god asked, and if Taku had a body, he would have shrugged
'Not really. I tend to go with the flow of things, so if you tell me you're a god, that's it, i don't see why i should fear you' He answered, though if he could see them, he was sure the god would be holding back a laugh right now
"I see. You are one of a kind then. Well, that will surely make my job easier" The god announced in a somewhat happy tone
'Your job?' Taku asked, not sure what higher being's type of job was like.
"Yes. You see, i am the 'god' responsible for the soul of the dead. Either they pass away or get stuck here forever is up to me" Taku shuddered at the prospective of being stuck in this void for eternity. That didn't sound good at all "Indeed it isn't. Only the most wicked people when they were alive will be staying here. As for you, that will be not the case"
Did this being just read his thought again? That was starting to get slightly annoying. Thoughts are private you know? A small laugh cut off his complains, indicating that the god heard all of it. Taku groaned in frustration
"Anyway" the god said, cutting short to whatever complain Taku still had "Back to the reason why i am here. Taku Delight, why did you decide to recluse yourself when you were still alive?"
Taku didn't know what to say. That... Was a subject he thought no one will ask. Sure, his parents did ask for the reason as well, but since he kept evading the question, in the end they gave up. He didn't really have friends so no one outside relatives asked. Well, no one got an answer. He hoped he could bring that one reason to the grave. Well, technically he did, since now it was god that was asking
'I... Well, i just felt like i didn't belong there. That's all. The world was too... Normal? If that makes sense. At some point i got bored. 'Why bother living if in the end i will just die a boring death after living a boring life?' That, and other questions like that plagued my mind. In the end i just gave up. I guess modern, peacefull life wasn't for me? That's also why fiction was so endearing to me. To be able to live a life full of adventure and adrenaline, that's what i wanted. But in peaceful modern days, that was just impossible i guess' the god didn't say anything as Taku went on to explain why he gaved up on life at some point. The being didn't interrupt, nor did it make any sound of aggreement during his whole speech. It just listened. And Taku didn't know how much he needed that. Someone that would just listen to him without judging. He needed that, and he felt grateful toward the being for listening to him till the end
"Hm, i see now. Indeed from what you told me, a peaceful life doesn't sound like something you would be fit for. Your story pretty much answered whatever question i had. So now, i am going to ask you a question"
Taku stayed silent, waiting for the question. He would answer with the most sincerity he could, as a thank you for the ear the being lent to him
"If i said that you could live that life of adventure you earn for, what would you do?" The god said
'I'd love to' Taku didn't even waste a second to answer the moment he heard the full question.
"Fufu, you are one of a kind indeed" The god said again, this time sounding like an old woman "In this case, i have good news for you, Taku Delight. You shall be reincarnated to live the life you were dreaming of"
'For real? This isn't a joke? Do gods even joke?'
"Yes, i assure you i am serious. Also, We do know how to joke. How rude" The god said. If Taku could see them, he was pretty sure they would be pouting right now "Hmpf. You will be reincarnated. But, i will do a few things to you to make it more fun for me and worth it for everyone else" the god announced, and Taku shuddered once again
'I'm not going to be reincarnated as some sort of inanimate object right? That would be worse than death'
Sure, those type of novel were still one of his favorite. But he sure as hell didn't want to be the one stuck as, let's say a sword for example. If he depended on someone wielding him to be free, how could he call that real freedom?
"Fufu, do not worry. I will do no such thing" The god said in a playfull tone, sounding like a child again "Well, it seems like everything is in order. I wish you luck in your new life, Taku Delight"
'Yes, thank you for everything' Taku said truthfully. He was really grateful to this being. They lent him a ear to listen to his problems, and now they are granting him his wish to fulfill his dream.
"Oh, by the way, i've sent you a little present as a way to ensure you do not come back here to fast. That woul be quite a waste of time and energy. Be sure to enjoy it" He heard the god one last time before everything went black again
And that signed the start of his new journey through this life
