She seemed very happy... She hadn't stopped smiling ever since we seemed to have resolved our 'misunderstandings'...
I wasn't sure if she actually liked me or if she just found the idea of us dating very thrilling...
I wasn't sure why I was having such doubts... Shouldn't I be happy that I was finally on a date with her?
Wasn't this always my dream?
Why was I having such doubts then? Well, probably because this was too good to be true!
I didn't expect her to text me today and for her to actually believe me that I've had feelings for her and for her to reciprocate those feelings... Yeah, this was too good to be true!
"So... How is everything at home?" She asked, "I'm sure there was a lot of drama after I left..."
Ummm... Let's not talk about all the 'drama'!
"I can't help thinking about our conversation from yesterday..." Mom called me the next day after she fucking made a mess, "Can I ask you something, Edward?"
Now what?
"Masen and Bella have been best friends for so many years... If they don't want to get involved romantically, that's fine... It's okay... But I'm not sure why you want to interfere... Do you have some sort of feelings for her?" She said.
I didn't want to answer that.
I didn't think I owed any answer or any explanation to anyone, except Maybe Bella... If she had any questions, I'd answer them, but I was not answerable to anyone else.
"I said this yesterday and I may sound rude, but that's none of your business..." I said.
"Edward... Why are you doing this?" She said, "I don't want you both to become those brothers who have conflicts because of a girl..."
"Oh, she's a 'girl' now? I thought you were saying Bella is like your daughter..." I snapped.
"I do consider her as my daughter, it's just that..."
"Bullshit." I said.
"Edward, please..." She said, "You have always been wiser... I'd expect you to handle this in a better way... I wouldn't expect you to go after Bella even if your brother was engaged to her..."
She gotta be kidding me!
"Please don't expect anything from me!" I said, "And what engaged? He had made a fucking mess for no fucking reason! Let me be extremely clear, Mom... I'm not going to repeat this. We are not kids, and I don't want any sort of interference from you. Am I clear?" I said.
"You can't talk to me like this... I'm your mother!" She said.
"Then behave like one!" I snapped.
"But..."
"I'm not going to discuss anything on this matter going forward..." I said.
We were not fucking done with the 'drama' yet...
And I knew Bella! She was happy right now, but I was pretty sure she'd start having doubts soon...
"Yeah... Everything is fine..." I smiled.
