Chapter 2
Three Years Later
Nyllani and Ayasha were sitting on a bench in the parkland area of Serenity Plaza, Watching Silvina twirl her wand through her fingers as they talked between themselves happily.
After a few minutes, They both watched as Silvina suddenly stood before her wand floated in front of her and fired a beam of fiery orange energy toward a building, Causing the upper floor to explode before chunks of rubble rained down on the surrounding area. After a pained yell echoed through the air, Silvina sighed before realising what had happened and bursting into tears as Nyllani and Ayasha ran over to her.
" I didn't mean to I swear! That man was pointing a wand at me... I didn't mean to hurt anyone... " Silvina cried heavily as chaos ensued around her.
A Few Hours Later
" I understand the severity of this but my daughter would not lie! " Nyllani spoke forcefully as she paced back and forth before a panel of Magical Congress members as Octavia stood and spoke.
" I agree. Silvina has no reason to create a lie, Especially one so extravagant. Use legilimency if you must but surely you see that she speaks the truth. She would not react in such a manner without cause. " Octavia spoke sternly before an older woman spoke.
" Truth or not is irrelevant. She poses a threat to the safety of those around her. I move to vote that the girl and her mother be immediately banished from the United States. She is too great a threat. " The older woman smiled maliciously before Octavia spoke angrily.
" You despicable little cockroach. How dare you condemn a young girl for defending herself as any of us would have. How dare you smile while she suffers. You disgust me. " Octavia stepped down from her seat and walked down the stairs before standing beside Nyllani as she ripped the small badge from her robes and tossed it on the ground. " If you banish this young girl than you must banish me aswell. I will not work for a babbling bunch of brainless buffoons that can't see past their own noses. Every one of you is a disgrace to this organisation and should never sit in a position of power. Come Nyllani. These fools are not worth our time and effort. "
" This hearing is not adjourned! " The old woman stood and spoke forcefully before Octavia turned and spoke with spite and rage.
" Then I suggest you arrest us. Otherwise sit down and shut your lying, Ugly mouth you withered old crone! " Octavia glared angrily as the old woman's jaw dropped and she sat down silently before Octavia stormed out with Nyllani in tow. As they left the Congress building, Nyllani spoke calmly.
" You didn't have to do that... " Nyllani gasped softly as Octavia stopped walking and turned before speaking sternly.
" Yes I did. How dare they accuse Silvina of lying with no proof or knowledge of what happened other than hearsay. They are all useless and I hate that it took me so long to see it. Anyway, I would much rather lose my job than my self respect. Besides, I have other options. " Octavia smiled brightly as Nyllani looked toward her with confusion. " Before I took this job, I was a teacher at Ilvermony. There are plenty of schools that need teachers, Including Ilvermony. Though I do admit, A change of scenery might be nice. "
" I hate that all this happened. I can explain who it was that attacked Silvina. He is why we haven't been able to stay in one place for more than a few years. He wants to take her. Experiment on her. " Nyllani spoke softly before sighing as Octavia placed a hand on her shoulder.
" Then we need to make sure she is ready. These fools don't want us here. Let's take her somewhere she can be protected and trained. " Octavia smiled as Nyllani nodded before a third voice startled them.
" I may be able to help with that. "
As Nyllani and Octavia looked over, They saw Ayasha standing next to an older woman in long black robes with a pointed hat on as Ayasha spoke.
" Nyllani, Octavia, This is Headmistress Minerva McGonagall from Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Scotland. She would like to make the three of us an offer. " Ayasha smiled as Headmistress McGonagall spoke calmly with a smile.
" Indeed I do. I have three vacant positions available this year at Hogwarts. One for Flying, As I understand from Ayasha, Suits you Nyllani. A position for Wandlore which Ayasha has accepted and as Professor Flitwick has decided to retire, A position for Charms. As I understand it Octavia, You previously taught Charms at Ilvermony School Of Magic. If these positions are acceptable to you of-course. " Headmistress McGonagall smiled as Nyllani and Octavia looked toward each other in shock for a moment before nodding with a smile as Headmistress McGonagall smile and continued. " Excellent. Also Nyllani, I have a letter for your daughter. I would like to invite her to attend Hogwarts from the start of the new school year. Is that acceptable? "
" Actually we were just discussing that very topic Headmistress. I will gladly allow Silvina to attend. But I would like to give her the letter and let her decide if that is alright? " Nyllani smiled nervously before Headmistress McGonagall smiled and nodded before speaking.
" Of-course. I will look forward to your owl and see you all in the new year Professors. I also look forward to working with each of you in regard to young Silvina. " Headmistress McGonagall smiled warmly before disapparating as Nyllani sighed audibly.
" Silvina is not gonna like having to move again. She just got used to her school and made friends... I hate doing this to her again... " Nyllani bit her lip before Ayasha spoke.
" She will understand. Just tell her the truth. Tell her why it isn't safe. " Ayasha smiled as Nyllani looked toward her pleadingly. " Of-course, I will come with you. Don't give me puppy dog eyes Nyllani. "
" You love it Ayasha. Shall we? " Nyllani smiled teasingly as Ayasha sighed exhaustively before they all walked to Nyllani's house. As they entered, They saw Silvina sitting on the stairs with a tear stained face before looking toward them and speaking shakily.
" We have to leave again don't we? I ruined everything... " Silvina sobbed softly before Nyllani rushed over and hugged her lovingly as she spoke.
" It isn't your fault sweetheart. It really isn't... " Nyllani bit her lip for a moment as she looked up at Ayasha slowly, Who simply placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled reassuringly as Nyllani took a deep breathe and spoke slowly. " There is someone from my past that wants to take you away from me. That is who keeps showing up. Australia, Japan, France and now here. He is why we need to leave again. But it isn't a bad thing. I met with someone who asked me to give you this. " Nyllani paused as she held a letter out to Silvina, Who took it and looked at the wax stamp on the back before breaking the seal and reading the letter. The Letter read:

Headmistress – Minerva McGonagall
(Order Of Merlin First Class)
Dear Miss Vissity.
We are pleased to inform you that you have hereby been invited to attend Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry. Please see attached a list of supplies and books that you will require for your studies.
Your first term will begin on the 1st of September. We await your reply by owl no later than 31st of July.

After reading the letter, Silvina looked toward Nyllani with excitement as she spoke. " A school of magic... Please can I go mum? Please? "
" Of-course you can my sweet. We have plenty of time to get to Scotland and get your supplies. " Nyllani smiled brightly as Silvina squealed excitedly before running to her room to pack her bags as Octavia spoke.
" Seems you will get there sooner than you expected. " Octavia giggled softly as Ayasha smiled before saying goodbye and leaving with Octavia in tow.
A Few Months Later
" Come on Silvina! You are going to miss the train! " Nyllani spoke stressfully as Silvina hurried along behind her as she spoke.
" Guess I will have to use magic in that instance won't I? " Silvina giggled as Nyllani stopped rushing and giggled softly.
" That's my girl. Never change sweetheart. " Nyllani hugged Silvina tightly for a moment before standing and continuing her hurry through the train station. As they arrived and looked toward the wall between platforms nine and ten, Silvina froze before visibly trembling as Nyllani knelt beside her and spoke. " It's okay to be nervous sweety. "
" I'm not nervous... I'm terrified mum. I'm so scared... Will I make friends? Will I fit in? Will I do good in my studies? I feel like my heart is going to burst... " Silvina trembled as Nyllani held her gently.
" It's alright sweety. You will do just fine and make new friends. You'll see. Now come along. " Nyllani smiled warmly as Silvina nodded quietly before following Nyllani as she walked toward the wall between platforms nine and ten. As Nyllani disappeared, Silvina whimpered and closed her eyes tightly before hearing a loud whistling noise and the sound of a busy train station. As she slowly opened her eyes, Silvina sighed softly as the massive train before her whistled loudly before Nyllani spoke.
" Alright sweetheart. Time to board the train. I know you are scared, But you will be perfectly fine and you will make new friends. I know it. " Nyllani hugged Silvina lovingly before ushering Silvina onto the train as a conductor loaded her luggage into the luggage car. After hurrying to a compartment, Silvina opened the window and called out to Nyllani.
" I'll miss you mum! " Silvina smiled but cried softly as Nyllani waved to her as the train pulled away from the station before speaking softly to herself.
" You won't miss me for long sweetheart. " Nyllani smiled before disapparating.
Hogwarts Express
As the train rattled along the rails toward the castle, Silvina sat alone in the compartment, Sniffling softly. As she wiped away her tears, The door slid open to reveal a young girl with chocolate brown hair that was trimmed to shoulder length and styled into long curls, Bright green eyes and pale skin with freckles adorning her cheeks and nose as she spoke nervously.
" So... Sorry to disturb you... But... Well... Everywhere else is full... " The young girl whimpered nervously as Silvina shook her head and spoke.
" It's okay. I think I could use some company. I've never been on my own before. Kinda scary... " Silvina sniffled lightly before the young girl walked in and closed the door before sitting down and speaking shakily.
" M... My name is Anaramika Kessora... My family call me Mika... " Mika fidgeted with a strand of her hair that dangled over her right eye nervously as Silvina took a slow breathe and spoke calmly as her wand floated out of her pocket and twirled in the air beside her.
" My name is Silvina Vissity. It's nice to meet you... Is... Is it okay if I call you Mika? " Silvina smiled nervously as a look of shock appeared on Mika's face for a moment before she smiled and spoke softly.
" Only if I can call you Via. " Mika smiled cheekily as Silvina giggled and nodded before Mika shook off her nervousness and moved to sit next to Silvina as she spoke.
" It's a bit sudden but can we be friends please? People have a tendency to misunderstand me. I get singled out a lot because of it. I feel like I won't have that problem with you. " Mika smiled as Silvina smiled and nodded.
" I'd really like to be friends. And if we are completely honest with each other, We won't have any misunderstandings. " Silvina smiled as Mika giggled softly and spoke.
" In that case, Will you tell me about your wand Via? I have never seen anything like it. It's beautiful. " Mika watched as Silvina's wand floated in front of her as she spoke.
" Sure. My wand is Acacia wood with aThunderbird tail feather core. Eighteen inches in length with a black marble handle wrapped with Thestral hair and an amethyst pommel. It was especially made for me by a wand maker in America... " Silvina paused as a saddened look appeared on her face as she continued. " I really miss Ayasha... "
" I'm sure you'll see her again. Can I have a closer look at your wand? " Mika had a confused look on her face as Silvina giggled softly.
" If she will let you. " Silvina giggled as Mika looked confused before Silvina continued. " She can be a little... Stubborn. " Silvina giggled as her wand aimed toward her before a puff of thick smoke erupted directly into Silvina's face, Causing her to cough heavily before speaking hoarsely. " I didn't say it was a bad thing! "
" Your wand acts like it has a mind of it's own and you call it a she... Why? " Mika looked confused as Silvina's wand aimed toward her and several small sparks erupted from the tip in warning as Silvina managed to regain her composure and spoke.
" Because she does have a mind of her own. My wand reacts to me even when I don't know what I want and it took me two years to completely bond with her. When I first received her, She refused to cast spells or function at all. She would just zap me whenever I touched her. And I refer to my wand as she because she gets really offended by the word it. " Silvina cried out in pain as a small lightning bolt struck her cheek before speaking. " I wasn't using that word in reference! I was explaining why not to! " Silvina rubbed her cheek tenderly as her wand sparked slightly before returning to floating at her side before Silvina sighed painfully as Mika spoke.
" Wow and I thought my wand backfiring was bad. At least mine doesn't torture me. " Mika giggled playfully as Silvina shook her head.
" She doesn't torture me. She is actually very sweet to me. But she also expresses her displeasure when she wants to be heard. " Silvina rubbed her cheek tenderly before her wand aimed toward the burn mark and glowed softly, Causing the pain to ease and the redness of the burn to lessen as Silvina sighed relievingly as her wand floated down to her hand before her fingers closed around it, Causing a tingle to run through her arm slowly as Mika spoke.
" I don't totally understand but it's clear you have a special bond with her. " Mika smiled before the compartment door opened and an old woman spoke calmly.
" Anything from the trolley dears? "
" If you have cheesecake on your trolley then certainly. Otherwise, I am not sure there is anything I would like. " Silvina smiled sweetly before her wand pulled free of her grip and floated over to the cart before aiming at what appeared to be crimson coloured lollipops. After standing and walking to the cart, Silvina handed the old woman a few coins, Picked up three of the lollipops and sat back down before popping one into her mouth as the old lady looked shocked before Silvina spoke. " I stand corrected. This is quite pleasant. "
" I knew you were weird like me the moment I sat down Via. " Mika smiled before buying a bag of Pepper Imps and sitting down as Silvina spoke.
" I would much rather be weird than anything else. Normal is no fun and cannot be accurately defined due to a lack of consensus on the meaning of the word. " Silvina smiled sweetly as she contently licked the lollipop, Savouring the taste as Mika giggled softly.
A Few Hours Later
Silvina looked out the window as Mika leant against her shoulder and slept silently before the train whistled loudly and came to a stop at Hogsmeade station. After waking Mika up gently, Silvina and Mika stepped off the train before looking around as a loud voice filled the air.
" First years this way! Come along now. "
After walking toward the origin of the voice, Silvina and Mika looked shocked as they looked up at a tall man as he spoke.
" Alright. I am Rubeus Hagrid, Keeper of keys and game here at Hogwarts. First years will be taking the boats to the castle. We are slightly behind schedule so let's get a move on. " Hagrid motioned for the first years to follow him before walking down to the dock and helping four first years into each boat before getting into a boat on his own and lighting a lantern as the boats floated across the lake.
After roughly forty five minutes, Hagrid led the first years up the stairs from the Hogwarts dock to the Great Hall and stopped outside the two huge doors that lead into the Great hall before another teacher approached and spoke softly.
" Hagrid. You are running late. The Headmistress was beginning to worry. "
" Sorry about that Professor Sinistra. Are they ready for us? " Hagrid spoke calmly before Professor Sinistra sighed softly.
" Not quite yet. You can go in Hagrid. I'll take the first years from here. " Professor Sinistra smiled politely as Hagrid nodded before turning to the first years and speaking as Hagrid walked down the corridor and through a different door. " Now then, When you enter into the Great Hall you will follow me to where the Sorting Hat is waiting. You will be sorted into one of four houses. Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin. Wait here while I prepare the hall for your ceremony. " Professor Sinistra walked through the huge doors before Silvina looked toward Mika and spoke.
" Can you tell me more about the four houses Mika? " Silvina smiled sweetly as Mika nodded and spoke.
" Sure Via. Firstly, Gryffindor. Students that get sorted into Gryffindor usually exhibit courage, Chivalry and determination. Then there is Hufflepuff. Students in Hufflepuff usually display or value hard work, Patience, Fairness, Loyalty and dedication. Ravenclaw students normally value wit, Wisdom, Learning and creativity. The last is Slytherin. Slytherin students often value or display cunning, Ambition and resourcefulness. Each house has a set of colours and a house head. Anything else you want to know? " Mika smiled as Silvina shook her head before Professor Sinistra walked through the large doors and spoke.
" We are ready for you. Follow me. Briskly, If you please. " Professor Sinistra pushed open the large double doors before leading the first years to the rear of the hall where a small chair waited with an old, Pointed hat. As Professor Sinistra stopped walking, The first years waited as Professor Sinistra turned and spoke. " Now then, When your name is called, You will sit on the chair and the Sorting Hat will be placed upon your head and you will be sorted into your house. Firstly, Anaramika Kessora. "
Mika whimpered nervously before Silvina placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled reassuringly before Mika walked up and sat on the chair. As she sat down, Professor Sinistra lowered the sorting hat onto her head. For a moment, It sat motionless before a face formed in the fabric and a voice filled the hall.
" Interesting. You have a tricky mind little one. Hard work, Patience, Fairness... But buried deep within, A spur of cunning and ambition that you hide to deter others from assuming the worst of you. Slytherin could teach you much, Yet I daresay that it would not befit your personality. In that regard, I must say... Hufflepuff! "
As Mika sighed in relief and smiled, She stood and walked over to the Hufflepuff table before waving to Silvina, Who waved back happily as other first years were sorted. As the last few names were called, Silvina sighed impatiently before Professor Sinistra spoke.
" Silvina Vissity. " Professor Sinistra held the sorting up as Silvina sat down and sighed softly as the hat lowered onto her head before speaking.
" Hmm... Difficult... Uniquely difficult... A keen mind, Very perceptive and observational, You learn faster than most too... Strong sense of courage and dedication with a sharp dash of cunning... Ah but there deep down... A fear... A dread... You work so hard to hide your full capabilities to avoid repeating past incident, Yet it eats away at you. That strength and power. It gnaws at you like a feral beast. Yearning to escape the chains you contain it with. Both Gryffindor and Slytherin could teach you but would do nothing to show you the freedom and acceptance you crave. I do believe that you would find all you seek in... Ravenclaw! "
Silvina smiled nervously as she stood and walked to the Ravenclaw table before waving to Mika nervously and trembling lightly as the students around her looked toward her with a mix of curiosity and concern before Professor Sinistra moved the Sorting Hat to the side of the hall and took her seat at the staff table as Headmistress McGonagall spoke calmly.
" Good evening. For those of you whom do not know me, I am Headmistress McGonagall. Before we begin the feast, I have some announcements to make. Firstly we have three new teachers joining us this year. Firstly, Teaching Charms this year is Professor Cadence. " Headmistress McGonagall paused as Professor Cadence stood before smiling and looking around slowly. As she noticed Silvina, Professor Cadence waved happily, Smiling as Silvina waved back to her before sitting down as Headmistress McGonagall spoke again. " Secondly, Teaching Wandlore to students of third year or higher, Professor Wolfe. "
Headmistress McGonagall paused again as Professor Wolfe stood and looked around the room before seeing Silvina's face light up as she waved excitedly, Causing Professor Wolfe to giggle softly and wave back before Headmistress McGonagall spoke again.
" Our third Professor, Who will be teaching Flying seems to be runn... " Headmistress McGonagall paused as the two large doors of the hall burst open and a witch wearing padded black clothes with leather protective gear flew into the hall before landing and looking around slowly, Causing Silvina to rush over and hug her tightly as looks of shock appeared on the faces of students around the room.
" Hello to you to sweetheart. " Nyllani spoke happily as she knelt down and hugged Silvina tightly.
" I'm so happy you are here mum. " Silvina smiled brightly as Nyllani stood before petting Silvina's head gently and ushering her back to her table as she spoke.
" My apologies Headmistress. I returned home to find several things my daughter forgot. Including her broomstick. " Nyllani spoke calmly before untying a rope that was holding a package to her back but paused as Headmistress McGonagall spoke sternly.
" First years are not permitted personal brooms. The school provides brooms tha... " Headmistress McGonagall paused as Nyllani shot her a daring glare and spoke calmly.
" That are unsuitable for some of my students. Worry not Headmistress. I will ensure the safety and needs of my students are accurately met using tests that will perfectly measure their capabilities. Surely we can discuss this later however? Our students must be hungry. " Nyllani smiled teasingly as Silvina giggled from nearby, Causing Headmistress McGonagall to glance toward her before sighing and speaking.
" Very well. We will discuss it in my office at a later date. Please take your seat Professor Vissity. " Headmistress McGonagall smiled sweetly as Professor Vissity nodded before walking over to the staff table and sitting down before Headmistress McGonagall sighed audibly and continued. " Now then, For our first years, I will introduce our other teachers. Teaching Arithmancy, Professor Vector. Teaching Astronomy, Professor Sinistra. Teaching Ancient Runes, Professor Babbling. Teaching Care Of Magical Creatures, Professor Hagrid. Teaching Divination, Professor Trelawney. Teaching Defence Against The Dark Arts, Professor Abbot. Teaching Herbology, Professor Longbottom. Teaching History Of Magic, Professor Binns. Teaching Muggle Studies, Professor Macmillian. Teaching Potions, Professor Patil. Finally, Teaching Transfiguration, Professor Bell. " Headmistress McGonagall paused for a moment as Professor Bell sat down before continuing. " Now that introductions and sorting are complete, My final announcement is that Professor Wolfe will be teaching duelling classes to anyone who would like to attend. It will require a permission slip from a parent or guardian so feel free to send an owl home before bed or tomorrow before classes. Now then, Let the feast begin! "
As Headmistress McGonagall finished speaking, Food of all kinds appeared on the tables, Causing several students to sigh in amazement before filling their plates. After filling her plate with a variety of vegetables, Accompanied by some delicately sliced lamb and a few pieces of chicken breast, Silvina ate her dinner gracefully while glancing toward her mother every so often. After dinner finished, The house prefects lead the first years to the dormitories.
As the Ravenclaw's approached the door to their common room, The prefect spoke calmly with a smile.
" Perhaps we should test the intellect of our first years. To gain access to the common room and dormitories, Answer the riddle the eagle has for you. " The prefect smiled before standing aside as a voice filled the air.
" We hurt without moving. We poison without touching. We bear the truth and the lies. We are not to be judged by our size. What are we? "
As the door fell silent, The first years mumbled amongst themselves for a few moments before Silvina spoke calmly.
" Words. The answer is words. " Silvina smiled sweetly as the other first years looked toward her with surprise as the eagle doorknocker chuckled softly.
" Indeed. Welcome to Ravenclaw Tower. "
Silvina smiled happily as the door to the Ravenclaw common room opened slowly to reveal a very wide, Circular room decorated with beautiful blue and bronze silk curtains and banners. The floor was a midnight blue carpet with stars to reflect the night sky and the ceiling glittered as if there were no ceiling at all and it was just the night sky above. At the far end of the room was another pair of doors leading to the dormitories next to an alcove which housed a large white marble statue of Rowena Ravenclaw.
As Silvina stepped into the common room, The prefect started speaking. " Now then. Dormitories for the boys are to the left of Rowena Ravenclaw's statue. Girls to the right. Your belongings are already in there. Class schedules will be handed out tomorrow at breakfast. Also... " The prefect was cut off by a sudden question.
" What about our owls? " A first year spoke up curiously as Silvina looked around the room in awe.
" They are in the school Owlery to be cared for. Now..." The prefect was once again cut off as another first year asked a question.
" Can we have friends from other houses in here? " A first year asked a question that everyone was wondering
" There are currently no rules against it so as long as your friend can answer the door then yes. But they are expected to abide by common room rules while they are here. Though I am unsure if you will have the spare time for bringing friends here. Now before anything else please go and make sure all of your belongings are accounted for. " The prefect smiled as the first years all nodded and walked calmly to the dormitories.
After looking around the common room curiously, Silvina walked up the stairs leading to the girls dormitory. As she entered, She sighed happily at the large bed that was next to an arch shaped window. The bed had midnight blue blankets on it and bronze silk pillows. The window was adorned with a large blue and bronze silk curtain. After sorting out her belongings and putting her folded clothes and spare robes into the set of drawers beside her bed, Silvina yawned softly before changing into her pyjamas and going to bed.
Monday
Silvina yawned sleepily as she sat up and rubbed her eyes gently. After getting changed into her robes, Silvina brushed and braided her hair into a ponytail before leaving the dormitory and walking to the Great Hall. As she walked, Silvina took in the architecture and various statues, Portraits and decorations adorning the castle walls and pedestals.
After several minutes, Silvina entered the Great Hall and sat at the Ravenclaw table before filling her plate with some eggs, Bacon, Crumpets with jam on them and a piece of toast. As Silvina was eating, Professors Wolfe and Cadence sat beside her before Professor Wolfe ran her fingers through Silvina's hair slowly.
" It's so good to see you sweety. I missed you. " Professor Wolfe smiled as Silvina leant against her gently as Professor Cadence spoke.
" Are you fitting in okay? Dormitories to your liking? " Professor Cadence smiled as Silvina nodded before swallowing the mouthful of food and speaking softly.
" Actually, I am enjoying my time here. I even made a new friend. " Silvina smiled before waving to Mika, Causing her to hurry over and sit across from Silvina as she spoke. " Ayasha, Octavia, This is my friend, Anaramika Kessora. Mika, The Professors are friends with my mum. "
" Pleasure to meet you both Professors. " Mika smiled happily as the Professors smiled toward her before Professor Wolfe spoke calmly.
" I have something for you sweetheart. I brought her all the way from America to keep you company. " Professor Wolfe smiled before pressing her fingers to her lips and breathing out, Causing a musical whistling sound to fill the air for a moment. After a few moments of silence, A musical cry filled the hall before a small bird with pearly white feathers covering it's underbelly and shimmering gold feathers covering it's back and wings, A hawk like head, Hawk like legs, Two long wings, Two shorter wings and two smaller wings on it's tail that was long and split into two long tails slightly below the smaller wings, Flew into the hall before swooping down and landing on Professor Wolfe's outstretched arm as she spoke again.
" This is Kari. She is a baby Thunderbird. I was breeding them in my spare time in America. In fact, Kari was born just two months before we moved here. Using a picture of you, I have taught her that you belong to each other. I'll also teach you how to call to her. She will eat most meats but watch what you feed her okay? Most importantly, Thunderbird's are a protected species so you need to take very special care of her alright? " Professor Wolfe paused as Silvina shook off her surprised expression and spoke softly.
" I'll take the very best care of her. I promise. " Silvina smiled as Professor Wolfe smiled and held her arm toward Silvina as she raised her arm, Causing Kari to chirp softly before hopping from Professor Wolfe's arm onto Silvina's. After a moment, Kari carefully walked along Silvina's arm before nuzzling her cheek affectionately as she spoke. " She is so beautiful Ayasha... "
" I had a feeling you would like her. She is very intelligent and incredibly loyal. Always care for her and she will always care for you. " Professor Wolfe smiled as Silvina held up a small piece of bacon, Causing Kari to chirp happily before nibbling the bacon as the Professors stood before Professor Wolfe continued. " Alright sweety. We have to go get ready to start classes. Speaking of which... "
Professor Wolfe took out a small piece of parchment and handed it to Silvina, Who unfolded it as Professor Wolfe spoke. " This is your class schedule. You have Charms with Octavia first. Nyllani has given you permission for duelling class so I will see you tonight. "
" And I will see you in an hour. " Professor Cadence smiled as she petted Silvina's head gently before leaving the hall with Professor Wolfe as Mika spoke calmly.
" You are so lucky Via. " Mika smiled as Kari nuzzled Silvina's cheek again before stretching her wings, Indicating that she wanted to fly to the Owlery as Silvina raised her arm quickly, Thrusting Kari into the air as she flapped her wings and flew out of one of the upper windows before Silvina spoke calmly.
" Very lucky Mika. Now then, Shall we finish breakfast and head to charms? " Silvina smiled as Mika filled a plate and ate breakfast happily. After eating breakfast, Silvina and Mika walked to the charms room. As they sat down, A loud bell chimed and several other students entered the room before Professor Cadence stepped out of her office before walking to the front of the room and speaking.
" Good morning students. Welcome to Charms. Today we will be learning Wingardium Leviosa. Do be careful, Mispronouncing or using the wrong wand movements can have painful side effects. The movements are quite simple. An elegant swish and flick. Observe. " Professor Cadence paused as she made the movements before motioning for the class to copy her. Once everyone had the movement correct, Professor Cadence placed a feather on each desk before allowing the students to try. As voices filled the room, Mika drew her wand as Silvina's wand floated out of her robes and landed on the table gently before Mika spoke.
" Wingardium Leviosa! " Mika spoke clearly and made the wand movements but looked disappointed as the feather failed to move. After several failed attempts, Mika spoke sadly. " This is harder than it looks. "
" Let me try then we can work it out together. " Silvina smiled as Mika sighed and nodded before Silvina picked up her wand, Causing her hand to tingle and speaking as she made the correct movements. " Wingardium Leviosa! "
As she finished the movements, The feather glowed dimly before slowly floating into the air as Mika sighed disappointingly before Professor Cadence smiled and spoke.
" Excellent work Silvina. Everyone else keep practising. You will get it. " Professor Cadence smiled sweetly as Silvina turned to Mika and spoke softly.
" I think you might be swishing too much Mika. Try again. " Silvina smiled as Mika nodded before sighing and making the wand movements as she spoke softly.
" Wingardium Leviosa! " Mika looked disappointed but smiled happily as the feather slowly rose and floated in front of her before Silvina spoke again.
" Knew you could do it Mika. " Silvina smiled sweetly as Mika nodded happily before letting the feather float back down to the table again. After several turns of trying the spell to make sure the movements were correct and consistent, A loud bell rang out through the school before Professor Cadence spoke.
" Be sure to practise your wand movements and check your schedules for your next class. " Professor Cadence smiled and waved to Silvina as the students left the room before Mika spoke.
" It looks like we have Defence Against The Dark Arts next. Then, We have Magical Theory with the Headmistress before free time until Duelling class. Let's go! " Mika smiled happily as she pulled Silvina toward the Defence Against The Dark Arts room. As they walked in, Silvina and Mika saw a large cupboard in the middle of the room that trembled violently every so often.
Meanwhile
" Headmistress, I am not saying that we should only accommodate skilled students. I am simply saying that we need to accommodate the skill level of our students as a whole. Those who are confident on a personal broom will struggle on brooms they are unfamiliar with. " Professor Vissity spoke sternly before Headmistress McGonagall sighed audibly.
" I understand your reasoning Nyllani but surely you can see the risk inherit in such action. Surely the students will see it as favouritism? " Headmistress McGonagall spoke calmly but had an obvious air of concern about her as Professor Vissity spoke.
" Some might. But there has been favouritism in the past has there not? Besides, Those who have yet to learn a broom will feel more comfortable learning at their own pace instead of trying to match the more skilled students. Just let me try some tests for a few days to prove my point. " Professor Vissity crossed her arms before Headmistress McGonagall spoke slowly.
" You won't let this go will you? " Headmistress McGonagall sighed irritably as Professor Vissity shook her head. After a moment of rubbing her head in agony, Headmistress McGonagall spoke calmly. " Very well. Perform your tests. But if any student is injured I will hold you personally responsible. "
" That's fair. And if I am right? " Professor Vissity waited as Headmistress McGonagall sighed again and thought for a moment before speaking.
" Then we will hold a staff meeting to discuss it further. Acceptable? " Headmistress McGonagall smiled tiredly as Professor Vissity nodded and left the office.
Defence Against The Dark Arts Classroom
" Welcome to Defence Against The Dark Arts. Today we will be having a practical lesson. Can anyone tell me what a Boggart is? " Professor Abbot spoke calmly before waiting as a young girl wearing red robes stepped forward and spoke.
" A Boggart is a shapeshifter. No-one actually knows what a Boggart looks like when alone due to it's habit of taking the form of the worst fear of the person who sees it. " The young girl smiled as Professor Abbot spoke.
" And the spell used against the Boggart specifically? " Professor Abbot waited as the young girlspoke again.
" The Riddikulus charm. It causes the Boggart to take the form of something the user finds amusing or entertaining. " The young girl smiled again as Professor Abbot smiled and spoke.
" Correct! Ten points to Gryffindor. Now then, Please form a nice single line and we will each try the charm against the Boggart. Remember, It is alright to be scared and if you struggle, I will intervene. " Professor Abbot smiled sweetly as the students formed a line. First was a boy wearing green robes, Second, The young girl who had described the Boggart, Third was Mika and fourth was Silvina followed by the rest of the class.
As the young boy stepped forward, The cupboard swung open and a massive, Flaming serpent reared up as he spoke.
" Fi... Fiendfyre... " The young boy stepped back but caught his foot and tripped as Professor Abbot stepped in front of him, Causing the Boggart to change into a tall man wearing black robes with pale skin and two small slits in place of a nose before Professor Abbot spoke calmly.
" Riddikulus! " As Professor Abbot finished the spell, The tall man's robes trembled before changing to a pink frilly dress and a large hat with several brightly coloured feathers on it before retreating into the cupboard as Professor Abbot turned and spoke to the boy. " Are you alright? "
" No... No I'm not... " The boy stood and walked to the side of the room as the young girl stepped forward before Professor Abbot stepped out of the way, Allowing the doors of the cupboard to open before a deep growl filled the room. After a moment, The young girl gasped loudly as a massive Manticore stepped out of the cupboard and snarled toward her as she tried to speak.
" Ri... Rid... Ridd... " The young girl looked as if she was about to cry before Silvina rushed forward and stood in front of her.
After a moment, The Manticore trembled before changing into a flawless copy of Silvina herself before Silvina raised her wand and spoke. " Riddikulus! "
As her spell finished, The copy of her trembled before roller skates appeared, Causing the copy to lose it's balance and tumble back into the cupboard before the doors slammed shut.
After sighing softly, Silvina turned around to see the young girl looking up at her as tears rolled down her cheeks and she spoke softly. " You... You protected me... Why... "
" You were scared. Felt like the right thing to do. " Silvina smiled before walking to the side of the room and sitting down as Professor Abbot tended to the young girl. After a moment, The young girl walked over and sat beside Silvina as she spoke softly.
" I'm Aurora. Aurora Shai. I wanted to thank you for protecting me. None of the other students so much as talk to me. " Aurora sighed softly as Silvina took in her features. Her eyes were an enchanting shade of amber and her hair was a blazing red colour with fiery orange tips. Her skin was lightly tanned and she had a small scar on the right side of her upper lip. After smiling sweetly, Silvina spoke soothingly.
" You are welcome. Like I said, It felt like the right thing to do. It is odd that the students in your house don't talk to you. You seem rather nice to me. " Silvina smiled again as Aurora absentmindedly leant her head against Silvina's shoulder as she spoke.
" It isn't just the other students. No-one has ever really talked to me or socialised with me except my mother. Coming to Hogwarts was terrifying. I thought I'd never make friends or find people that understand me. " Aurora sighed softly as Silvina petted her head gently.
" I will happily be your friend Aurora. Coming here was terrifying to me too. I have never been alone before. My mum, Ayasha and Octavia were always around to keep me safe and play with me. This is a new experience for me too. I did meet Mika on the train though. You will like her. She is like us too. " Silvina smiled as Aurora slowly put her arms around Silvina and hugged her gently as she spoke.
" It means a lot to me. Thank you. " Aurora hugged Silvina gently for a few minutes before realising what she was doing and blushing brightly before quickly moving away from Silvina and speaking nervously. " I'm sorry! I didn't mean to invade your space like that... I am so sorry... " Aurora whimpered nervously as she looked away sadly before gasping as Silvina pulled her closer and hugged her tenderly.
" I don't mind. I like hugs. It's like a warm blanket around me. " Silvina smiled happily as Aurora whimpered softly and blushed before Mika walked over and spoke jealously.
" No fair Via! You haven't hugged me yet! " Mika pouted as Silvina giggled and stood before gasping as Silvina yanked her forward and hugged her playfully.
" All you had to was ask Mika! " Silvina laughed softly as Mika growled playfully before hugging Silvina tightly as she spoke.
" You have to give me hugs every day Via! Every single day! " Mika grinned happily as Silvina giggled and nodded happily before they sat back down and watched the other students. After about an hour, A loud bell chimed as Professor Abbot walked over and spoke.
" Miss Vissity. Please see me in my office before you leave. " Professor Abbot had a serious look on her face as she turned and walked to her office as Silvina stood and followed her nervously as Aurora and Mika watched with looks of shock. After entering the office and closing the door, Silvina sat down as Professor Abbot spoke.
" Your deepest fear is yourself. Could you explain why? " Professor Abbot sat behind her desk as Silvina sighed and spoke slowly.
" Even though I have mostly mastered my wand... She reacts to me. My thoughts and emotions. We have a special bond. To top that off, My magic is really dangerous. Especially my personal magic. Lightning. " Silvina paused as her wand floated out of her robes before twirling slowly beside her while Professor Abbot spoke.
" Lightning? Most interesting. But what makes you feel like it is dangerous? " Professor Abbot watched as a distressed look appeared on Silvina's face as she spoke.
" It is dangerous! I destroyed a building and people got hurt! That's why we had to come here... It's hard... It's so hard to know how dangerous I am and to try and keep my emotions in check. I can't even cry... " Silvina bit her lip as small sparks emanated from her wand as it twirled.
" I think I understand. Your thoughts and emotions cause your wand to react to you. Even when you don't know what you want. " Professor Abbot paused as Silvina sniffled softly before nodding. " That is a difficult situation. Perhaps... "
Professor Abbot paused as an owl flew through the window and dropped a letter on her desk before circling and swooping back out of the window before Professor Abbot spoke calmly.
" The Headmistress would like to see us both in her office. Follow me. " Professor Abbot stood before leaving the room with Silvina in tow.
