Now here's the first chapter, Enjoy
[??? - Morning]
A gentle breeze brushed through Taku's sleeping face, slowly waking him up. As a ray of light made contact with his closed eyes, the sleeping person slowly opened his eyes, only to immediately close them.
"Too bright" he said. He groaned before sitting up and opening his eyes. He was somewhere in a forest of some sort, blue sky with some clouds above.
He stood up, only to lose balance and land face first in the dirt as some weight on his chest pulled and disturbed his sense of balance.
'What the heck?' Taku complained. That was not normal. He stood up again, this time slowly.
The first abnormality he could point out was that he was taller than he remembered. If he had to guess, he was around 6 feet tall. More or less. That didn't really disturbed him much. Some people wished to be taller, he was just okay with whatever height life gave him
The second abnormality he spotted was the streak of red that invaded his vision when he stood up. He grabbed it with his right hand and pulled. Only to feel slight pain on his cranium. So that was his hair. Red hair. Red crimson hair. That was just stupid. Why would he have red hair? Also, he remembered that he always had short hair, this time though, his hair reached down to his waist. He just was lost at this point. Why red and long hair? That would just stand up too much. No one with normal hair pigmentation had red crimson hair.
The final abnormality, which threw Taku in a loop, was the two bouncy meat that was on his chest. By no means should these be on his body. He refused to believe it, but as he touched them, he was forced to accept reality. He now had breast. Big ones too. Not too big, but still big in his standard (which wasn't much). He let reality sink in before howling his terror
He was now a girl. Great. Just great. He wasted a few minute complaining about it before his easy go lucky mind accepted it. He was now a girl, guess he'd have to adapt to the changes that brought with it. He wondered if that was the "changes" the god had made to make it more fun for them, but ultimately pushed the thought in the back of his mind since there wasn't anyone around to answer his question. He sighed before sitting down and looking over himself again to see if there was anymore changes he should know
So far, only his gender changed. And the oh so long red and fiery hair. His clothes also changed though, since he was now dressed in a white shirt which was a little baggy, a black cloak with quite a few pockets on the inside, black pants tied with a belt and black shoes. So far, he quite liked his look.
When he checked the pocket to see if there was anything else he should know of, he found a pair of black gloves and a fruit. Or a rotten fruit? He didn't really know. From the look of it, it was a banana. But only the look told him so. The color was wrong to begin with. What kind of banana was red? Then there was the scale like motif all over the fruit. Again, not a good sign at all. Was this the "present" the god informed him when he was about to be reincarnated ?
Well, considering that his stomach just so coincidentally growled at the sight of something to eat, he concluded that that was most likely the case. He peeled the fruit and took a big bit out of it. When he started to chew, it was normal, when he gulped it down, it was still normal. Only when the bite he took landed in his stomach that the remaining bits of the fruit still left in his mouth made him gag out of disgust
"Urk! Blegh!" That tasted absolutely terrible. It was like he ate a meat that was already turning bad, but someone ran it through the toilet water, then into the mud, then threw it in the garbage, before they forced it down his mouth. That really was a disgusting thing to eat. He glared at the rest of the fruit before he tossed it away with spite. If that was a joke, that was a really bad one. Who made people eat rotten fruit as a joke?
He heaved a sigh before he stood up again and started making his way through the forest. From here and there, he would spot fruits growing on trees, but ignored them, even as his stomach growled in hunger. The last fruit he ate made him think twice about eating fruits again. At least for a few days.
Or so he thought.
...
It's been two weeks. Two whole damn weeks. Taku was still inside the forest. By now, he had come to term with the fact that he was most likely lost. For the first few days, he was having a hard time adapting to living in the wild.
The first day, he ignored his hunger and didn't eat any fruit, still an aftertaste from the banana he ate in his mouth. When nightime came, he opted to sleep up in a tree. Who would sleep on the ground in the middle of the forest without anything to protect themselves anyway? No need to say, he fell down quite a lot of time during the night, earning him a few bruises here and there
The second and third day, he succumbed to his hunger and started to harvest fruits to eat. And thank god, none were rotten like the one he ate on the first day. He also wandered around, still trying to find the exit of the forest. No luck on that part so far. During the night, he was still sleeping up in the trees, though it was only on the third night that he didn't fall down that much
On the fourth day, he discovered a new change in his body. His physical strength was a great deal better than his previous life. And by great deal, he meant a lot. He found out when a wild boar came crashing onto the tree he was sleeping on. He fell down of course, but what stopped him from yelling insults at the animal was the size of said beast. It was at least three times bigger than a normal wild boar. He started to sweat when he saw the beast looking at him, and immediately raised both arms in defense when the beast rammed him again. He was surprised when he didn't feel like he got squished like a bug, his mind paused when he saw that he stopped the beast's charge dead in it's track, and his mind crashed when he pushed back and the beast was sent flying toward another tree, which also got obliterated on contact with the wild boar. It didn't get up again. He blinked once, twice before looking at his hands. He punched the tree behind him, and sure enough, the tree cracked before crashing down. He got so excited that day that he ended up experimenting until nightime.
Turns out, his senses also got greatly increased to keep up with his new physical prowess. Even with the speed at which he was moving when he started running at full speed to see his limit, he could clearly see as if he just moved normally. His skin was also somehow upgraded. He found out when he tripped on a tree's root and barreled through a tree at high speed. He didn't feel that much pain, if at all for that matter, and when he looked himself over, he only had a few bruises even though he was sure some sharp wood cutted him as demonstrated by his torn up cloak. His skin only bruised, but no cut whatsoever. This discovery might have made him a little bit reckless from there on.
On the fifth day, he made yet another discovery. Which almost made him jump out of his skin. When he woke up in the morning, it was to the sight of his arms being covered in reddish scales. Not just his arms though, his entire body, minus the face (where the scales ended behind the ears), his front neck, his torso or now chest and belly, and his -absent- crotch, now replaced with the female counterpart (this made him cry for a few minutes when he went to take a leak on the first day), his palms and the bottom of his feet. Apart from those, everything was covered in scales. If that was all, his nails got a little bittle longer and more sharp, his teeth also grew to be sharper than ever, with two canine growing more than the other teeth. And he also grew a tail, almost as long as he was tall, and covered in scales on top, but not the bottom. The fact that his colthes was still okay even when he grew a tail out of nowhere somehow amazed him. All in all, he became a mix between a human and a reptile of sort. He also grew taller. By two feet if he had to guess
"What the actual hell?" He was so shocked that he didn't move for a long period of time, hoping that he was just hallucinating. After an hour and no changes, he was forced to once again accept reality as it was. He was now a mutant. Just great. How was he supposed to join human society now?
On that day, he let loose as a way to say goodbye to his humanity. That day, the animals in the forest learned to fear the new predator that appeared there. He wasn't fighting like a beast, but he might as well be called one. His punch sent whatever poor creature crossed his path flying and his claws would tear the flesh. His tail would blast whatever creature dared to sneak on him. Until he sneezed. And a torrent of fire launched from his mouth. His mind paused.
"... What?" He didn't know how to react to that one. Carefree as he was, he couldn't wrap over that one thing. He just breathed fire. Literally. What the actual fuck!? What WAS he?
His thought process stopped when he saw that the forest was starting to take on fire. He cursed before he made every attempt to stop the fire from gaining more power. He didn't have water to pour on it, so he hoped for what was on hand. He punched a tree, wait for it to crash down and used it to put out the fire. By pounding wherever the fire would go. It took a lot of time, and the tree he was swinging around took fire on more than one occasion, but he managed to put out the fire. After the adrenaline got through, he blacked out. When he came to his mind again, it was nightime, and his body was back to normal. No scales, no tail, and no fire breathing.
On the sixth day, he woke up covered in scales with a tail. Again. He sighed in desperation. Was this how it was going to be from now on? He hoped not. Yesterday, he learned that this was not a permanent transformation. Which could possibly mean that he could control it. He hoped that at least he could, or else he won't be able to see civilasation again. He spent the rest of the day and the next day trying to figure out how did his new "power" worked.
As he experimented. He learned that, indeed he could turn back to being a normal human again. At least there was a good news in this whole mess he found himself in. He could go back and forth between his normal form and his mix form. For esthetic, he was going to call the last one hybrid since mix was not really a good term for it. He also learned that he indeed could breath fire. This time he was cautious though, and used the place where he started a fire yesterday to test out his power. The place was now a plain clearing since the fire yestersay took out most trees and bushes around. He could breath fire, he still wasn't around that fact but was slowly getting there. That was a strange feeling if he was being honnest. It felt like his lungs started heating up, before his throat picked up the heat and he was exhaling fire through his mouth. By the time he understood how that worked, he had started another fire. Again.
On the start of the second week, he went to look for water. Fruit was good, and meat as well since he could now cook it, but he was starting to get seriously dehydrated. So he spent the day running around in the forest, looking for water. He came accross a river when it was starting to get dark. And drank to his heart content. He also took a bath while he could, and washed his clothes. From sweat, to dirt, to dry blood, to sooth, his clothes was really dirty. By the time he washed it, he watched as it had gone from brown and grey to white and black again. Just to say how dirty it was. He slept naked in his hybrid form that night, not wanting to sleep in wet clothes and catch a cold. Also, his hybrid form somehow kept him hot enough to not freeze to death, another discovery
On the ninth day, he was back to experimenting on his power again. By now he had figured out no one was around this forest. If there was, they were bound to have come look for him, since he didn't really play it stealthy when he experimented. This time though, he went beyond what he usually stopped himself at when he went to his hybrid form. He always felt that he could go beyond it, but never tried. And it worked. He grew taller and taller, at some point, he lost both arms as bat like wings took their place, his neck elongated as well as his mouth, and his scales started to take on a spike like aspect instead of the smooth pattern he had with his hybrih form. He was starting to understand what he was turning into, when suddenly everything went black.
When he came to consciousness again. Everything around him was destroyed. The land was ransacked, every trees was knocked down, some even burning ablaze, As if a natural disaster came by and destroyed whatever there was in it's path. Right next to where he was lying, there was giant foot imprint of some beast. Even if he laid down there, he doubted he would even be able to cover half of the imprint's diameter.
He shuddered.
Was this his doing? He had to face reality since he was mid-transformation when he lost consciousness. And coincidentally, when he came back, the forest was burnt to Ashes, and everything is laying around, destroyed.
"That... Is not a pleasant thought. Guess this means that going beyond the hybrid form is banned" If there was civilization around, he could've killed someone by accident. He shuddered again and brushed the thought away.
But he also got the picture of what he would actually look like of he fully transformed. A dragon. A damn dragon. The European representation of it at least. Long neck, bat like wings, giant tail and all that. That was actually cool. But the fact that he will lose consciousness and go berserk if he tried again stopped him from trying to experiment on that front. At least for now. As he was having these thought, a drop of water landed on his cheek. Surely, not a moment later, it was pouring. He was glad that the fire he unwantedly started was put out naturally, but was complaining since he didn't have anywhere to take cover until the rain stopped. He took some tree that had fallen down, and piled them to create a temporary cover. Water still leaked through, but it was better than not having cover at all.
On the tenth day. He actually took time to look at his reflection in the river. Well, at least he was surprised to see his face. Smooth, beautiful face with bicolore eyes. The left One was yellow and the right one was silver. So now on top of the red mane he had on top of his head, he also had odd eyes? Added to the fact that he was some mix between a human and a dragon, of all thing, he was bound to stand out no matter what he did. Apart from that, he had some scars here and there on his face, surely from either fallen down from trees at night, or fighting the beasts here and crashing through trees upon trees. His skin was hard, but not That hard. The beasts in this forest were unreal. Either it being wild boars, tigers, lions or whatever he stumbled upon, they were many times bigger than the ones he used to see on documentary or in the zoo. A scar ran accross his right eye, and two smaller ones ran on his right cheek. Both were a courtesy of one especially tough giant lion he had came accross on his rampage on the fith day here. He didn't even bother to try to patch them up. For some reason, he was healing faster than he remembered he was used to. The next day, the wounds were already scaring. He continued experimenting with his power that day, not going over his limit of course.
The rest of the days he was in the forest, he was training and experimenting. Getting used to move at the speed he could, while dodging trees and animals in his way, control the diameter, distance and heat generated by the fire he breathed. At some point, he managed to converge it into a beam of flame hot enough to desintegrate earth. All he did was cumulute the heat in his lungs long enough until it got to the point he felt like it was actually going to burn him from the inside, then he exhaled all of it, the resulting torrent of fire being concentrated turned into a beam of hellfire, literally going from it's usual yellowish color to a more orange/reddish color. Now, he wasn't excactly the chuunibyou type, so instead of trying to find a cool name for his attack on spot, he instead made sure to remind himself not to use that against living beings less he wanted to burn them to ashes and left naming his moves for later. As he went down, he also discovered that using fire was not limited to his mouth, but limbs as well. And only if he covered them in scales first (partially covering a part of his body with scales was also a previous discovery he made).
By the time the week ended, he had came up with various attacks for whatever situation he might need them. If he wanted to play safe, he would use his fire breath. And if he wanted to get up close and personal, either just using his natural suparhuman strength, or adding fire on top of it. He smiled as he was somewhat satisfied of that. Now, he spent the rest of his time stuck here either training, experimenting or just hunting for food and water.
On the fith day of the third week, he went to take a bath again, only this time, he wasn't alone.
