Chapter 3

Seung Nyang had stopped abruptly after seeing the cluster of soldiers surrounding them, unfortunately she was not carrying any weapons other than a small knife hidden in her body, she turned around to see if she could see any soldiers, but she could only see the members of the army, while the enemy general stood in front of her.

- So there are still members of royalty that I would have to kill! - exclaimed the Mongol general Hyun Kwan furiously.

Seung Nyang without losing her cool, but impatiently glared at the enemy with fury and then added

-It seems that the Mongol Empire does not know what it means to respect a peace treaty-

-Your Highness- Hyun Kwan mentioned- all this has been a strategy to finish off Yuan, the empire still owes us a lot and this is the way we found to collect what they owe us, aren't you the empress who ended up recognizing the independence of Goryeo?

- That's right - Seung Nyang said - They deserved freedom as much as respect for the territorial boundaries that Mongolia owes us -

- I owed you, but now we will claim this as our own, could you show us the shortest way to the emperor's chambers? -

-The emperor is dead, you may believe it or not, but there is nothing more I have to tell you- Seung Nyang said furiously.

- Well, I don't believe him, but I suppose he's here to distract us, although I admit that I would love to know why there are almost no servants in the palace, I have no more time to waste than seizing the Yuan throne.

Hyun Kwan unsheathed his sword and calmly approached Seung Nyang, he was ready to kill them all to take over the kingdom and add victory to his empire, when suddenly he was barely able to dodge an arrow that had been launched at his face and killed a soldier behind him, leaving him stunned for a few seconds.

"Not everyone has that level of skill," Hyun Kwan thought to himself, then he saw a man in black armor approaching quickly in the distance.

-Your Highness, please stop, I have something to tell you- TalTal exclaimed as he stood next to Seung Nyang, she looked at him in disbelief and a tear rolled down her cheeks, she couldn't believe he was still alive, but he looked tired and somewhat dejected, she knew he had to work hard to get to her in time from where the war had been fought.

Taltal planned to confront him as he usually confronted enemies, but decided that the safest strategy was to actually flee with Seung Nyang, he had not been able to defeat him on the battlefield with his men inside and he was still partially injured so he considered that the hopes of winning a battle at that point were difficult, but at least there was hope, although he did not know exactly where to run.

Hyun Kwan, having recovered from the shock, had glimpsed that general who in his opinion was very dead when he faced him. It had been an arduous battle since it had been difficult for him to defeat him physically and he was also surprised to see him alive, because that guy was difficult to kill.

-General TalTal- Hyun Kwan exclaimed with joy. I was surprised to see him alive in the palace. Apparently he wasn't as dead as I left him, but he will be soon. Don't worry, my sword is still very thirsty for revenge for the defeat of my men.

-I don't think he has the ability to beat me- TalTal exclaimed, -This is where his winning streak ends-, TalTal said with a look full of fury

Hyun Kwan could not believe his arrogance, he considered that the enemy was not difficult to defeat, but he had risen from death once and that was the basis for surprising him, suddenly drums were heard in the distance, which the general could not tell if they were his own or the enemy's, when he turned to look at them, he saw them running in the distance, -At them! - he exclaimed.

Taltal took Seung Nyang by the hand and ran with her through the courtyard through which she had entered. Seung Nyang told her that she was looking to get closer to her chambers through a passageway that was there, but TalTal considered that it was not viable since the enemy was along that path. Seung Nyang accepted that she had to find another way out.

-Let's surround the site as if we were going to leave through the south gate, but let's return to the palace where the passageway is. TalTal exclaimed, Seung Nyang just nodded.

As they approached the south gate, they saw that the enemy was merely setting fire to certain areas and heard how they would continue to search for them. They knew that the fire would spread quickly and they would have to leave as soon as possible. They continued advancing in the shadows through the palace until they approached the back area of Seung Nyang's chambers.

-We're close- Seung Nyang exclaimed, seeing the exit through the hallway, - there was a back door and with that they managed to enter the empress's palace, they ran through the hallways and entered Seung Nyang's room.

-Master, it's this way, Seung Nyang pointed out as she moved a sliding door hidden by a painting, TalTal simply followed her.

Once inside, Seung Nyang closed the door and took some weapons that were there, among them some knives and her bow, she moved another door and they were able to enter the passage, finally escaping through it, on the way TalTal stumbled a couple of times.

-Master, are you okay? - Seung Nyang exclaimed with concern.

-Yeah, let's just keep moving forward, TalTal said as he struggled to his feet and Seung Nyang could see him bleeding from his side.

They walked through the long passage and could see the door at the end. Soon, fresh air filled with a breeze that heralded rain began to blow.

After unlocking the door and making sure there were no enemies around, they crossed the door stealthily and slowly entered the forest. Seung Nyang looked sadly as part of the palace was on fire, but she consoled herself by hoping that the rain would come soon. Now she had to hide from the enemy and heal TalTal.
