I gently rap my knuckles on a wooden door, a bag loosely looped around my shoulder.

I cast a glance behind me to See the blonde behind me look away nervously. She's not really one for eye-contact I've come to realize. A very Tsundere-like trait.

The corners of my mouth turn upwards as I can hear the door begin to crack open.

Standing there is a woman with long brown hair that's loosely tied behind her head. There are some slight wrinkles to the corners of her eyes, but overall she looks quite youthful.

Her yellowish brown eyes widen as she sees me, a bright smile appearing on her face as she lunges forwards and wraps her arms around me. "Suzutsu! You're back!"

"Hey mom." I greet back with a small grin as I return her hug. "Yeah, we got finished early, so I decided to come home. There's someone I'd like you to meet."

She finally notices the blonde standing right behind me.

"Oh! Hello! You're so pretty!" The woman smiles brightly, causing Mittelt to flush with embarrassment.

"T-Thank you." The fallen angel whispers.

"You must be Milly." My mother continues. "Suzutsu has spoken quite highly of you."

"He has?" She whispers.

"Don't feed her ego, mother." I snort. "If her head gets any bigger it'll gain its own gravitational pull."

"Hey!" The blonde snaps with a small glare.

"Be nice Suzutsu." My mother frowns.

"Yeah, Suzu, be nice." The fallen behind me echoes.

"Please, come in, come in." My mother smiles brightly. "Your brother is still at school, and your father is still at work, though. If you're hungry I could always whip something up really fast."

"Oh, don't worry about it, mom, we got some fast food before coming over." I wave off with a small smile as we both step inside.

The woman practically drags me inside, forcing me to sit at the couch. "It has been so long. Since you've sent a message! I-I was beginning to think you had forgotten us!"

"Sorry, I've just been extraordinarily busy."

"Hm... Is your school work causing you issues?"

I pause as I realize something. "Oh wait. I have something to give you."

I reach into my back and pull out a small, laminated piece of paper. "Here."

She takes the paper in her hands.

She stares down at it for a long moment.

"You graduated?" She questions, voice sounding strangely hollow. "Five years ago?"

"Yeah... I meant to mention it, but I've just been so busy."

"You graduated... five years ago." My mother repeats.

"Sorry?" I whisper.

"SUZUTSU I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU!" The woman shouts.

She lets out a long sigh before shaking her head. "I'm mad at you, mister, but... what have you been doing? All this time? You graduated so long ago, but you kept going."

"Oh, I had an internship at Eden Interactive."

"Huh?" The woman blinks.

"Mittelt too." I grin, looking over to the blonde who simply nods once.

"Oh... that newfangled... virtual game thing." My mother states. "It sounds much too complex for me. But Issei has been talking about getting one non-stop for the past year."

"He has?" I question. "Oh god did he-"

"Yes, he's been talking on and on about his pornographies." My mother sighs.

"I swear, If I ever find whoever made him a pervert, I'm going to beat them with a big rock." I groan, rubbing my temples.

My mother has a slightly sad smile. "He wants it so bad... He's even begun doing chores around the neighborhood to try and raise money to get one. Your dad and I were planning on surprising him and getting him one for Christmas, but... its just so expensive and has been a bit of a hard year."

"A hard year?" I frown.

"Yes. The company hasn't been doing well and, as a result, has had a few budget cuts."

"..."

"Huh. Tell dad to quit. I don't want him working himself to death."

"It's... not really that simple, Suzutsu."

I look to my watch, a holographic screen slowly appearing, my mother's eyes widen slightly as I begin tapping away with my other hand.

"Suzu- what is-"

"Oh. This is just some Tech Eden will probably release sometime next year. Compact. Durable, with a substantial battery life and a user friendly interface. I actually made it myself. and Mittelt here coded the largest majority of its systems." I blandly explain. "Let's see here..."

"You made that?!" My mother gasps. "Suzu! You're so talented! Amazing."

"It was nothing, really." I smile slightly as I find the files I am looking for.

"Hn. Profits are about average, actually." I mutter under my breath. 'and, if profits are average but they are doing layoffs... somebody's lining their own pockets~'

With a few more taps, I grab everything and slide it out towards the side as a secondary window appears, this one looking more like a messaging window.

The files are deposited in a nice little zip file, then I tap out a message.

"Can you get this schmuck fired and give my dad a little pay-bump?"

With a wave of my hand, the message is sent.

I close everything.

"You shouldn't really worry about money, mom." I state with a small head shake, the corners of my mouth turning upwards. "Nor should you worry about getting Issei an Eden system... I have it covered."

"Suzutsu. You shouldn't spend your money on this. As your parents it should be up to us to-"

"Mom. I'm going to put it really bluntly here. I'm loaded. One million yen is literally nothing to me. You and dad have supported me all my life, so let me support you for a change. Let me give back a little for all you've given me."

"Suzutsu..." My mother quietly sighs with a small relenting headshake. I watch her slowly walk around the room, dusting things off as she sticks a small nail in the wall and hangs the laminated paper I had given her.

She smiles slightly at it, then turns and takes a seat across from Mittelt and myself.

"So how did you two meet?"

"Well, ah." I begin quietly.

"We were sat next to each other at school." Mittelt states.

I nod along with her. "The other kids sort of kept their distance from us, but, well, we were both smart and good with Technology. After going through basic schooling at a near record pace, we were scouted by the CEO of Eden Interactive and hired on as designers."

"Have you two been living together?" My mother questions.

"Oh, no." I shake my head. "We both had our own apartments, though sometimes we'd have to fix something, and the task just went on and on and we slept at each other's places."

I let out a low hiss with a wince as the girl cringes.

"Those were not pleasant times." I eventually mutter. "But, Eden Interactive needed everything to be perfect. This was groundbreaking stuff they're working on. And, if not handled properly could have hurt someone. So those long hours were needed."

Mittelt nods twice in agreement. "Yep. But now that the system is coming out, we're pretty free to do whatever we want. Got a massive bonus as well."

"Mhm." I agree with a small sigh. "Hooh I'm glad most of the work is down now."

"Yep. Now we just need to keep watch on everything to make sure it continues to be smooth sailing." Mittelt agrees.

"I do think they're probably going to call us in at the start of the Domain of Magic beta, though." I admit.

"Yeah, probably." Mittelt agrees. "But we should be able to do our job from here."

"You two should stop thinking about work." My mother chastises. "You are both too young! You should enjoy your break."

"Oh, we plan on it." I agree.

My mother's eyes slowly slide to Mittelt. "So, what are your intentions with my son? Are you dating? Do you use protection?"

"Mother." I huff as Mittelt slowly turns beat red.

"I-I-I-" The blonde girl stutters.

There is a knock on the door.

"We should go get that." The girl exclaims as she grabs my wrist and pulls me to my feet.

My mother looks amused, covering her mouth with a slight teasing expression.

We open the door, revealing a man with a clip board, he has a hard hat, there's a large moving truck behind him. "Are you Issei Hyoudou."

"I'm his brother, Suzutsu Hyoudou." I answer.

"Ah, I see." The man mutters, his eyes stray to Mittelt, then myself.

He looks around briefly, then with a wave of his hands a large package appears.

Ah. Fallen. I knew something was off about him.

The man nods slowly then checks something off his list. "Thank you for entering Eden Interactive's giveaway. We'll see you in game!"

He looks a little dead inside at that last statement. I sure as hell didn't force him to say that.

Must be Azazel. He thought it'd be funny or something.

Then with that he turns and walks back towards the truck.

"Who was it?" My mother calls from the other room.

I look to the large package before me, then let out a quiet hum.

This'll be pretty difficult to get inside.

"Oh, just someone from Eden Interactive. It looks like Issei won the giveaway." I answer as I lazily conjure a red hand truck.

"What?!" My mother questions.

I carefully wheel the box inside, gazing up the stairs to the next floor.

The box is about five feet long and four feet tall. My mother is left gawking for a moment as I gesture up the stairs and look to Mittelt. "You pull, I push?"

"Whatever." The girl shrugs as she takes the hand truck and steps up the stairs.

"Do you need any help?" My mother questions.

"Nah. I work out in my free time. This is- hng- nothing."

It weighs like... five hundred pounds, so I mean, I have to act like it's straining me a little bit at the very least.

The door slowly creaks open as a brown haired boy tiredly trudges inside.

"Mom. I'm back!" He calls out as he walks forwards-

"Woah! Look at those legs! Blonde and twin-tails? That's pretty hot. I wonder what sort of-"

He is struck by a pillow, causing him to cut off.

He blinks off his daze as the pillow flops to the floor.

"Huh- Big bro?!" A grin crosses his face. "You're back?! Already?! Hell yeah!"

"Hey, Issei." I lazily wave. "So you noticed her before me? How rude."

His gaze strays from me to the girl sat next to me.

"Oh!" Something seems to click as he bows his head slightly. "I apologize. You must be Suzutsu's girlfriend. I'm sorry I looked at you that way."

My mother looks absolutely shell shocked. Like she had just seen a pig fly.

"Huh?" She whispers, slowly looking over to Issei. More than likely never seeing him restrain himself like that after the... ugh... boobies event.

"We're not dating!" The blonde beside me protest, finally reaching her breaking point after being not so subtly needled by my mother for the past three hours.

"Why not?!" Issei questions. "Big bro is amazing! He's cool and collected! He's even one of those damned pretty boys and works out! What is there not to like about him! He's like the protagonist of an Ero game! Is he not good enough for you or something?!"

He gestures wildly to me as mother once more seems surprised that Issei is being so mature.

Well, as mature as the boob dragon emperor can be, at least. The fact that he's showing any restraint at all with a girl his age in the house is already a miracle.

Mittlet looks away with a small blush as Issei gives me a mischievous thumbs up. "I'll be right back, I've just gotta put my bag in my room. Want to play some games?"

"Eh, You'll probably be pretty busy in the next... five minutes." I shrug idly.

He blinks slowly. "What do you mean?"

"Go to your room and you'll see."

"..."

The three of us watch him slowly walk up the stairs.

There's the creaking of a door.

"..."

"WHAAAAAAT?!"

He rushes down the stairs, eyes wide. "I-I I Won?!"

"Congratulations on your new Eden system, Issei." I smirk. "Domain of Magic's beta servers aren't up yet, nor are Vr Chat's, but you can mess around in the other games."

"Huh? Did you try it?"

"Did I try yours? Nope." I shake my head.

"Issei dear, Suzutsu said that he is working at this Eden Interactive thing."

"WHAT?!" The teen exclaims, looking at me with stars in his eyes.

"Yep. I've already tested out Domain of Magic itself. Pretty fun, not gonna lie." I admit. "If you need some advice when the beta comes around, just ask me. I know a thing or two."

"A thing or two?" Mittelt huffs. "You'd live in that game if you were able to."

At her reply I just simply shrug with a small 'what can you do' smile.

Issei looks torn, glancing over his shoulder, then to me, then back in the direction of his room.

"Go." I wave off. "I know you're excited to play the new big thing. Don't torment yourself by sticking around."

Sort of heartwarming to know that I'm on the same level as 'literally the most advanced gaming experience that has ever been invented' for him. He even reins in his perversions and is trying to set me up with Mittelt instead of immediately being all 'Heehee booba' the second he found out we're not dating.

"But... you're not here often." He begins quietly.

"Ah. About that. Mittelt and I were planning on staying here in Kuoh town from now on." I admit.

"Huh?" He questions.

Mittelt nods along. "We are going to be running a Vr rental place here in Kuoh from now on."

"You are?" My mother questions. "That's wonderful! Will you be staying here or..."

"Ah, the rental place has an apartment above it. I was just planning on living them."

"Mhm." Mittelt nods.

"Wait... did you have something to do with me getting an Eden system?!" Issei asks.

"Whaaaaat? No." I wave off. "That's crazy."

"Nepotism." Mittelt deadpans while staring at the side of my head.

"Yeah. That'd be Nepotism." I agree. "The Eden systems were randomly selected from millions of people. You won, Issei. I'm not going to stop you from playing. Go have fun with your new games. We can talk later."

"You're the best, big bro!" The teen sobs, then rushes up the stairs.

"Well..." I mutter, slowly looking to my mother, then to Mittelt. "He'll be gone for about four hours. Then he'll be given a thirty-minute cool-down period."

I lay on the floor, staring up at the ceiling of my room.

Mittelt lays in my bed silently. I can tell that we're both awake.

"So..." I begin quietly.

"Oh gods damn it." the girl sighs. "I was almost asleep... What is it?"

"How have you been enjoying your time here?" I question.

"Your family irks me." The girl deadpans.

"..."

I can see her look over the edge of the bed. "Wipe that cheap grin off your face, fuck-o. You knew this would happen, didn't you."

"Duh. Didn't I literally say they'd be teasing me about getting married like... the very conversation I asked you to join me?" You can actually hear the grin on my face. I must look pretty punchable right now.

"I thought you were being sarcastic!" She hisses.

"Nope!"

"Your family is unhinged!" She whispers. "Your mother- word for word- told us 'Don't use protection'."

"Yep!"

"At least I know how you came to exist." Mittelt eventually sighs.

"What does that mean?" I frown as I sit up.

"You're normal when I put you side by side with them." She elaborates. "I mean, really. Don't you recall being all 'don't hit me, I'll moan'?"

"Well, you keep up with me, so by your own words, you're just as weird as me." I blandly point out.

"Touche. But it's your fault." The girl relents.

We fall into silence at that as she rolls back over, after a brief moment, I lay down again.

"So uh..." I continue again. "Admittedly, mother's teasing and my brother's insistence has got me thinking... why aren't we dating?"

"..."

"Like." I quietly mutter. "Am I not good enough for you? Are you too bothered by my teasing? I really didn't pursue anything because of how busy we were, but Eden has been released, and, well... we've been friends for a long time, right?"

"I had actually been thinking on this for a long time and I was just wondering..."

"I... I don't deserve it." Mittelt whispers.

"Huh?" I blink a frown appearing on my face as I sit up again. "What the hell do you mean 'you don't deserve it'?!"

"Because... this entire time we've been friends. I've being lying to you." She whispers.

"Huh? How so?"

Her mouth clamps shut, she take a long breath, seemingly deep in thought about something.

"I... I've been lying about my parents." She whispers.

"Oh, you mean that your dad's Azazel?" I ask.

"Huh?" Her mouth hangs open slightly, her pupils shake.

After a moment of pure shock, she shakes her head and frowns at me. "How did you know?!"

"Mittelt." I sigh, rubbing my temple. "I'm not a fuckingidiot. Day one I noted that Azazel seemed to care about you more than 'random mook fallen number eighty seven'. Then there was the whole six wings, thing. Honestly, I figured it out then and there. It was obvious you were the daughter of a Cadre at that point, I just didn't know which one. I mean, really. Six wings at age sixteen? Six wings without you having to really train to earn them? Then Azazel's reaction to Mephisto wanting to reincarnate you? Yeah. I'd have to be the most unobservant rock of a person to miss one of those things let alone all three."

"T-Then why didn't you say anything!" She exclaims, seeming horrified that I knew she was lying to me.

"It really wasn't my place to know." I shrug. "Nor really my place to care about. I felt that you'd tell me if- or when- you felt ready to. I was not entitled to your history. Just like you aren't entitled to mine, but. I feel that you deserved to know my family. After all, we've spent, what? Seven or so years together?"

I scratch my cheek. "Besides... there's some things about my family I haven't exactly been very forthcoming about."

Mittelt lets out a small huff, staring dead ahead. "Yeah. Azazel's my dad."

"That must be rough." I sympathize.

"H-He isn't that bad!" She frowns at me. "Yes, he is a womanizer, but he tries!"

"Oh, don't get me wrong, he's a total mess, but in this case, I wasn't actually talking about his personality. It was more the lack of contact you're being forced to show." I admit.

"Oh..." She whispers. "I- yeah. You're... you're right about that. He tried so hard when I was younger, but then he realized it would be safer for me if he distanced himself from me... though, at least he did give me a friend my age before he did so."

"So, my entire scouting by the Grigori..." I begin with a disappointed stare.

"Was because I was lonely and wanted a friend." She nods.

"Haaah." I dramatically sigh. "Well, that makes me feel real good about myself."

"Hey, Azazel probably would have settled for a human with large magical talent. So, realistically, he was looking for copper, but found gold."

"Just like Christopher Columbus." I roll my eyes. "Anyways, we've gone off topic. We work together, hang out together, we more often than not eat together and sometimes we even sleep together. And, soon enough, we will beliving together. Is there really any reason to not consider us dating?"

"..."

"No." The girl eventually relents after a fairly long silence.

"..."

After another long silence I speak up again. "Then are we?"

I can see her eyes peer over the edge of the bed at me, looking me up and down.

"Take off your shirt." She demands.

"Take off your shirt." I shoot back.

She doesn't say anything for a moment.

In the next, a rolled up T-shirt smacks into my face.

"O-Oh damn. I was just kidding." I whisper, eyes wide as I peer up at her.

Pale skin, bare shoulders, an arm perched across her exposed chest to obscure my vision as she glares down at me in embarrassment.

"Shirt." She demands in a forceful tone, causing me to roll my eyes and relent with a small snort.

"Fine."

She drools slightly as she looks over my body.

"Even better in person..." She whispers.

She seems to realize what she just said, hand slapping over her own mouth.

"What ever do you mean by that, Mittelt?" I frown.

"A-ah... nothing?"

"Did you put cameras in my apartment."

"N-No?"

"If I were to teleport back there right this second and balance break, would I see a bunch of hidden cameras everywhere?"

She doesn't say anything.

"Mittelt." I let out a disappointed sigh. "I didn't knowdegeneracy was passed down through bloodline."

"M-Mn..." She mutely replies, looking especially disappointed in herself as she stares down at her lap.

"Did you at least climax while masturbating to me?" I ask.

The girl turns beat red.

After a moment of deliberation on if she should even answer that, she finally replies. "Yes?"

"Oh, good, good. We've only been dating for about two minutes and I'm already leaving you sexually satisfied." I snort. "That's doing wonders for my ego, thank you for that."

"Ugh. You." The girl rolls her eyes as I lay back down on my futon. I pull my blanket up to my shoulders, eyes drifting shut.

"For the record... my mom forbids us from using protection. So I better not see you buying any condoms." I quietly announce as I begin to settle down for the night, a yawn leaving my lips. "She'll get mad."

"Sure, Sure. I'll just use magic." The girl hums mutely. "Or should I? You said degeneracy passes down through genes, right? With a brother like that, can you imagine what would happen if you added The Watcher's bloodline to that? It'll be our little mistake of a science experiment."

"I've been meaning to ask about that." I cut in, briefly pausing our little banter for a brief moment. "What the hell even is the name 'Watcher'? Like... is it because-"

"He kept trying to watch Gabriel bathe, yes." The girl sighs.

*Snrk-* I snort. "Based."

"You keep saying that, but what does that even mean?! Based on what?!" Mittelt growls.

A low chuckle leaves my lips that slowly evolves into full-blown laughter.

I wipe a tear from my eye. "Ah. Goodnight Milly, I'll see you tomorrow. We've got a big day cut out for us."

"Yeah." She agrees. "Beta-day. You wanted to pop in the second the servers are made and do a little tour for the people showing up early, right?"

"Yep. Oh, and before I forget, did you post that informational video to the Eden channel?"

"I did." She replies.

"Good, Good." I smile.

With those words, my eyes drift shut, quietly plotting for tomorrow.

I sure hope Rias does what I predict and join pretty much as soon as the beta officially starts.

And thus, they're now officially dating. Adorable.
