Hi! It's me, Loopy Luna FossBoss. I'm new here, just fresh from Quotev, haha. I've updated my two other stories on here already, and here's my third!
This story is a Harry Potter fanfiction, about one Harry James Potter living with a specific grumpy Potions Master…
I hope you enjoy it- and keep in mind, this writing was from a while ago, you'll probably see the writing improve, haha.
Anyways, thank you for reading! Enjoy!

Harry James Potter woke up in his room. He looked around at all the bookcases, trying to shake off the dream he'd just had. It had been about him, if he had been raised by some muggle with a horrible mustache who only gave him watermelon to eat for his WHOLE. LIFE. All of it! Harry hated watermelon. That way it dripped down his hands, the fiber, all the seeds...bleh.
He got out of bed, trying to remember what day it was as he pulled on his clothes. Then he remembered. Today he would be Sorted and officially accepted into Hogwarts! He whipped his curtains open and made his bed with a newfound excitement, not even noticing his hair was bright canary yellow, due to his ability as a Metamorphmagus (the ability to change your appearance). He raced out of his room and down the hall when he smelled something good. He backtracked to see his father cooking some eggs and bacon over the stove.
"Smells good, Dad!" He said, startling the tall man who promptly turned around. He had a hooked nose, dark eyes, and once greasy hair that fell to his shoulders. He overall looked kinda like a bat.
That's right, Harry's adoptive father was Severus Snape, Hogwarts' resident sarcastic Potions Master.
But he did finally find a good brand of shampoo.
"Good morning Harry. Have you looked into a mirror this morning? Your hair is a little more… colorful than usual." He said with a smirk. Harry groaned and ran to the nearest bathroom, turning his hair to the usual reddish brown and double checking that his eyes were their vibrant green. He was almost like a copy of Lily. Once he was satisfied, he headed back to the kitchen where his father was putting down the plates of bacon and eggs.
"Better?" Harry asked grumpily, embarrassed he had missed that crucial detail. He didn't want to make a bad first impression on all of his classmates!
Snape's eyes softened when he saw his son.
"Much. Now come and eat, you have to help set up in the great hall before the sorting. Or..."
"Or?" Harry said.
"Or I could take you to King's Cross Station and you could take the Hogwarts Express like everyone else. It's your choice." Said Snape, sitting down.
"Then we better hurry, I've got a train to catch!"

When Harry got to the station, he felt a little less excited and a little more nervous, to the point where he froze in his tracks.
"Dad? Will people like me? I mean for who I am, other than Harry Potter." Snape crouched down.
"Son, if I found people to like me for who I am, you'll do fine. I'm not going to lie, though. Some people will try to be friends with you because you're Harry Potter. You've just got to find the good ones. And you don't have to worry about being lonely. In fact, I got you something. I don't know what you'll use her for, because I live in the castle, but... here you go." Snape then pulled out a beautiful Northern Saw-Whet owl, rare for the U.K.
Northern Saw-Whet Owl
"Wow, Dad! She's beautiful! I'm gonna call her... Alexandra! That means protector. She will protect my mail! For short I'll call her Andra. Now I can send messages to my friends during the summer! And I can send small notes to you or anyone else! Oh, thank you dad! She's just perfect! And she's small enough she can ride on my shoulder. Now I can have a friend everywhere!" Said Harry, lifting the cage up to his face. Snape smiled slightly while he wasn't looking.
"Just watch out for-" A deafening hoot sounded out that sounded like a saw being sharpened. Everyone around them covered their ears.
"-her hoot." Said Snape, wincing.
"I will, thanks," said Harry, putting the cage down,
"Now you don't need to worry, she usually stays silent. The instructions of how to feed her and care for her are in there." He pointed at a case at the bottom of her cage. Harry nodded and at that moment, another hoot sounded, this time signaling the train was about to leave.
"Go, go! You've got to get on!" Said Snape, pushing him forward. Harry grabbed Andra and jumped on before they closed the doors.
"Bye Dad! See you soon!" Said Harry, and then the doors shut and the start of Harry's adventures began.
(To clear things up: Harry and Snape's house is in the dungeons. Harry still has the scar and can't hide it for very long. He also still has glasses. Harry knows everybody and several of the professors will be mentioned as 'aunt' or 'uncle' and their names are shortened. Harry also has a different personality and the Weasleys are not main characters. )
Whew! First chapter done! These chapters are a little bit shorter than some of my other fanfics. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and I will be catching up all the chapters I have on Quotev. Thanks!
