And thank you for voting on my "After Classique, What Should Be My "Main Fanfic" Moving Forwards?" Poll. It has been very insightful, so allow me this opportunity to share the results (you can also find them on my FFN Profile Page) and give you guys a rough set of initial drafts of my upcoming plans, all centered around these very Poll Results.
By the time you are reading this, I should have (or should the in the process of) editing my Profile Page accordingly to show my latest plans there too, in a less detailed form, but for the purpose of this announcement, well, let's get to the Poll Results first, starting from the one with the least votes, to the one with the most!
6th Place! "Spin-Off! Make A Side Story Based On Another Popular Ship!" (4 Votes):
Clearly the least favorite option, and I shall abide. For now, any story I wish to tell involving the side pairings will be instead used in any of the projects mentioned below.
5th Place! "Focus On The Roles One-Shots Linked To Role Reversal!" (5 Votes):
My post-BLUE one-shot fix-it collection has several fans, some very vocal, but it's clearly not a priority. I won't abandon this, not fully, but it will not have my main attention. Given how these one-shots are so easy to write and edit (given how short they are), I can still do one every few months and not interrupt my main plans. So, basically, consider this a low priority for me from now on.
4th Place! "Enough Food Wars! Update / Write For Other Fandoms!" (11 Votes):
I do understand the votes may have been a bit biased, as while I did share the Poll on my Profile Page, Socials, and whatnot, most voters came directly after reading the ending of Classique, so it makes sense they would focus more on my plans for Food Wars rather than any other fandom. And, fair. While I won't abandon them, I still have plans for my Naruto / Demon Slayer or my Frieren / Fire Emblem stories, much like the Role Series, they'll take a backseat to my main fics, which we will talk about shortly…
3rd Place! "Start From Scratch! Make A Completely New Food Wars Story!" (22 Votes):
I had a very interesting idea with this, and I will not abandon it, and given the gap between the last three options and these top three, I know the interest is there, but given how I cannot realistically write three main fanfics and update them all at least monthly; I will have to set this one aside for now and focus on the other two. It's not a discarded idea, but for the moment, it is considered "on hold".
2nd Place! "Next-Gen Fic! Adult Soma & Erina & A Teenage Baby Ruth!" (26 Votes):
Now, here we get into my actual main focus moving forwards. Half of that focus will be with this, my Next-Gen fic, where half the story is about Soma and Erina in their 20s, dealing with a very adult relationship, marriage, and a lot of other issues; while the other half is Dove's daughter, Ruth Dillinger, now aged fifteen, at Totsuki, and having to deal with a film crew who are planning to make a series based on the events that occurred in Nouvelle and Classique. You can already read the "Prologue / Pilot" Chapter for this (at least, Ruthie's side of the story) in my (as of this writing) one-shot titled Couverture (A Nouvelle Story). This will be a shorter, limited series, and the idea is to write it simultaneously with the events that occurred in…
1st Place! "A True Sequel To Classique Based On The 3rd Year / BLUE!" (38 Votes):
…Something BLUE. This will be my main fanfic moving forwards, a true third part of the now NouVerse Trilogy, although the idea is to find a nice middle ground between the more story driven narrative of Nouvelle and the balls to the wall action in Classique. This and Couverture will both be updated simultaneously, and the challenge here will be me incorporating a storyline that takes place both in the present (BLUE) and the future (Couverture) where they affect each other without spoiling each other (as long as you read them as they are posted or read BLUE first and then Couverture once they conclude).
This story will begin at the near end of Soma, Erina and friends' Third Year, one month before graduation, where the long-established BLUE will finally be held, and the Roberts Family, mentioned since Nouvelle with Stuffed International, will be very involved against the idea of mere students winning such an illustrious event. And of course, with the Noirs now seemingly disbanded, a power vacuum is at play, as some new Noirs have come to take the throne Asahi abandoned, and it seems ghosts from Dove's past have not remained as buried as she believed. So, if you wanted more, and specifically, want more Soma, Erina, Asahi, Dove and the rest of these young adults facing off in the biggest culinary event in the world where, of course, the stakes are higher than just cooking, be on the look-out for this one coming out quite possibly before this year ends!
So, In Conclusion, What Are You Writing Zancrowe And What Is The Schedule?
1 – Something BLUE – The conclusion of the story that began with Nouvelle and continued with Classique. A Soma/Erina and Asahi/Dove story. Set to begin this year with monthly updates.
2 – Couverture (A Nouvelle Story) – Next-Gen Story, set nine years after BLUE, with half the story being an adult Soma/Erina and the other being a Ruthie with a as of yet undetermined love interest. First chapter posted, will be updated every other month, and if you were a fan of Tenmaku Cinema, do give this one a read!
3 – A Sixpence In Your Shoe – A collection of drabbles set (mostly) after Classique featuring every pairing imaginable. This one is already posted, and will be updated every now and then. The next few chapters will have several Guest Writers on it, so be on the look-out for that!
4 – The Roles Series – A collection of one-shots focused on a different ship, all set post (canon) BLUE arc, the next one being either Role Ambiguity (a Isshiki x Nene story), or Role Fidelity (a Ryou x Alice story). This one will be updated every few months or so, at least twice a year I hope.
5 – Citrus: Folie à Deux – A "sequel" / spin-off of the original Citrus (lemon / smut one-shot), but this time featuring Asahi and Dove, set during the events of Classique. Genuinely because I've been asked nonstop about it, so fine, I'll write it. No set date for it yet, but it could work as a nice Valentine's Day gift fic, so perhaps then?
6 – Lehren der Zeit – The Frieren / Fire Emblem crossover fanfic, currently posted with just one chapter. This one should get an update every few months, give or take, since I am excited for the idea and I should write something not Food Wars related every now and then. If you enjoyed Frieren, give this one a read, and if you haven't read or watched Frieren, go do it, right now. Like, forget my fanfic, just go watch that anime. You'll thank me.
7 – Necronomicon – The Naruto / Demon Slayer cross over fanfic, with around 14 chapters already posted, is currently on hiatus because it has been plagiarized to hell and back. I'm talking posted on every site imaginable, google translated into Spanish for other sites, and even uploaded onto YouTube (monetized!) with a text-to-speech reading format. And, I'm sorry, I adored writing this and want to continue, but I refuse to write, in my free time, just for others to get the credit, or worse, money out of it. Fanfiction should never be paid for unless you commission a fic, so time will tell if I ever do continue this or not…
8 – Kimiko no Gaiden – A "Gift Fic" made for IceColdSea / Frozen Wave, an AU based on her own AU Shokugeki no Kimiko, that I have been posting over at AO3. It's a half serious, half parody take on the Next-Gen stories, served as excellent practice for my Baby Ruth one, but one I am having a lot of fun writing (it does have a lot of nods to Nouvelle and Classique, and several cameos at that). So, if you either: (1) want to see more of my Food Wars writing, (2) love Shokugeki no Kimiko, or (3) want to have a good laugh that may surprisingly hook you, go give that a read. I may post those chapters here in FFN eventually, so don't be shocked or confused when I do. This was your head up!
…And that's about it. Of course, as a fanfic writer, nothing is set in stone. My fellow writers and I, over on our Discord, occasionally create little events, so I could end up working on one of those at any point, or if I do get commissioned for a fic I will also give that my priority (if you do want to commission me, I'd be honored to do so, but do note I don't really expect it). And, also, inspiration is a fickle thing, so who knows if a new plot bunny smashed onto my head and I get this new idea that just has to be written, but for now, as of this writing, this is what my plans are.
