A/N: Where I live we call it pop. I am having a hard time remembering to type "soda" - so if you see the word "pop" in reference to a drink, it's soda. Likewise, if you live in the same neck of the woods I do … soda is how most of the world refers to pop. Cola is also acceptable at times. Eyeroll.

Also, most of this story is Brittany's POV but I have been trying to remember to note the POV. If it's not noted, assume it's Brittany (unless context indicates it's someone else and I just dropped the ball on the note).

Chapter 50

Brittany POV

After dropping all of Brittany's new clothes, linens, shoes, and school supplies at her place (along with a case of Ramen and some cans of ravioli and soup that Brittany stored under her bed), Brittany locked up her bedroom and bathroom (since Sam and Puck already had a party in full swing), and they all piled back in the car to go to Santana's apartment.

They climbed the stairs, all of them lugging a laundry hamper or a box of food and entered the apartment.

"Just drop everything in the living …" Santana was interrupted by a short blonde tackling her in a hug, causing Santana to drop the box she was carrying.

" 'sup, bitch?" Quinn grinned at her.

"Quinn!" Santana laughed as she hugged her best friend. "I wasn't expecting you until Sunday. Oh, sorry, just dump that stuff anywhere," Santana told the others. "Quinn, this is Brittany's Grams and Gramps. Grams, Gramps, this is my best friend Quinn."

Introductions made and pleasantries exchanged, they all went down for the last load, Santana dragging Quinn with them to help.

Quinn laughed. "Did you buy out the store?"

"Pretty much. Most of the food is Britt's but she doesn't want to leave it at her place because, apparently, Puck and Sam don't care if it's not theirs. Besides, Britt eats here most of the time anyway," Santana grinned at her girlfriend.

"Oh, wait," David shook his head, "I forgot," he ran out the door and came back a few minutes later with a backpack.

"Sorry, honey, I meant to give this to you earlier in the week and just spaced on it. That should handle all of your high end games and all the photo and video editing you do. I had my guy put the top of the line photo and video editing software on it. If it's not what you need or have to use, let me know and I'll pay for whatever you need."

Brittany pulled the laptop out of the backpack and turned it on. "Dad …" Brittany gaped to him as the laptop flared to life and loaded in an instant. The thing was loaded with RAM and an SSD with a terabyte of storage. It was blazing fast and Brittany was stunned speechless. She jumped up and threw her arms around David's neck. "This is awesome! I needed a new one so bad! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

David hugged his daughter tightly. "You're welcome, honey. I'm sorry you didn't get this two years ago when you needed it." He pulled away from her. "This one should be good until you graduate but if it's not, let me know, okay?"

Brittany nodded and kissed his cheek. "Thanks, dad."

David smiled. "Okay, old folks, we're going to the hotel and leaving these youngsters to their own devices tonight. I'm sure they need a break," he winked at Brittany who giggled. "We'll pick you up for dinner tomorrow evening around four-thirty? Will that be enough time for you to get to rehearsal, Santana?"

Santana nodded. "Plenty of time, thank you, David."

"Quinn, you'll join us? Daniel, too, if he's back in town."

Quinn smiled. "Daniel is at his place doing laundry. We're planning on going to Santana's show tomorrow so we'd love to join you all for dinner."

"Excellent! Then we'll see you all tomorrow." He hugged all three girls and kissed Brittany and Santana on the cheek.

Grams and Gramps hugged all three girls and the "old folks" left the three girls alone.

"Pizza, popcorn, movies?" Quinn raised an eyebrow.

"You're okay with me staying, Quinn?" Brittany asked hesitantly.

"Of course I am! Britt, you are always welcome here, no questions asked, okay? If I don't want you here, I won't be shy about telling you to get lost." Quinn grinned at the taller blonde. "I like you, you're never in my way, and you don't annoy me. So unless you hear differently from me or Santana, you're always welcome to stay."

"Thanks," Brittany smiled at Quinn, "I really appreciate it. Once Josh is back, things should calm down at my place." She shook her head. "My dad told me to start looking for a new place so I can move when the semester ends because Puck and Sam have already asked Finn and Trevor to move in and I really don't wanna live with a bunch of non-chartered frat boys, you know?"

Quinn nodded. "I get it. Right now, though, we're going to pig out, watch bad movies, and catch up."

Santana laughed. "Sounds like my kind of night. I need a shower," she grabbed her wallet out of her backpack and handed Quinn her card. "Order the pizza, make sure we have drinks, I know there's popcorn in one of these hampers or boxes," she laughed again, "dinner's on me tonight."

"San …"

"Nope, don't wanna hear it, dinner is on me tonight. That goes for you, too, Quinn," she said as she headed to her room to grab some clean clothes and her shower things.

Quinn shook her head and ordered the food after checking to make sure they had sodas. She and Brittany organized the hampers and boxes to be dealt with tomorrow or Sunday, maybe. Quinn then flopped on the love seat, leaving the couch for Brittany and Santana.

"Hey, Quinn?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm gonna go to bed early tonight. I'm pretty sure San's gonna wanna talk to you. Some good, some bad, and some I don't want to deal with again."

"You're her girlfriend and you don't want to deal with her?" Quinn's voice had an edge to it.

"No. No, it's not her deal, it's mine." Brittany hastily explained. "Some stuff went down while we were in Buffalo this week and, honestly, I'm just tired of it all. San can fill you in, okay? So I don't have to rehash it again."

"Oh, okay. Hey, you alright?" Quinn's edge softened into concern.

"I will be. Eventually. San's been … amazing. I can't even," Brittany swallowed hard trying to stem her emotions. "My emotions are all over the place and …"

"Hey, it's okay, Britt. Honestly, let's relax and enjoy the evening. If you're okay with San telling me stuff, then I'll listen to her later."

Brittany huffed a sad laugh. "It's funny, you know, Santana asked me who the five most important people were in my life. I came up with four without even thinking about it. You were in a three-way tie for number five." She smiled slightly. "I have no problem with her telling you what happened. I just don't have the energy to relive it again."

Quinn nodded. "Okay, hon, I get it. How about we watch some stupid funny movies and crack open the beer instead of the soda?"

"Yes, please!"

Quinn laughed and got up, grabbing them two beers. She held hers up for Brittany to clink.

"To friends," Quinn toasted.

"Friends," Brittany echoed, just as Santana exited the bathroom.
