Ch60

Alabaster sat by the bonfire his siblings made as they watched the flames crackle in the night. "Well how does it feel?" Percy asked as they watched some of the campers have fun.

He took out his cards and began to shuffle them as a smile spread across his face. "Relieved." It was as if a weight had been lifted off his chest. His mother had a throne among the gods and was recognized for her efforts while him and his siblings had a place here in the camp just like any other camper.

Percy patted him on the back. "Well you and family worked hard and proved yourselves in front of the world." The son of Poseidon met his gaze. "Thanks for everything. You and are family helped me and the camp out during these past few years, I know it wasn't always easy but I'm grateful for everything you and your family did."

He awkwardly shifted as he felt himself become flustered. "I-It was nothing. I fought for my mother as did my family." His gaze drifted to Lou where she and Rachel were talking amongst each other. "I know this camp will make a good home for all my siblings."

"Well I hope you and your family can find a home here," Percy said firmly. "This camp is a home for all demigods and all should feel welcomed."

As he stared at the variety of campers he couldn't help but feel at home. For most of his life he had been on the run going from place to place but as he traced the four beads on his necklace he couldn't help but feel a strong sense of devotion to this camp.

Mother I did it.

After an eventful evening at the firepit with his friends Percy was expecting a calm sleep. However, as soon as his head hit the pillow he found himself in the familiar hall of Hecate "What am I doing here?"

"Percy!" He turned and saw Alabaster and his mother Hecate by the fire.

Hecate smiled at him. "Hello Percy Jackson."

He bowed respectfully. "Uh hello Lady Hecate." It was still weird seeing her in this hall especially since when he looked into her eyes he saw her form shift between that of a young girl, a middle aged woman, and an old woman.

The goddess smiled. "Do not worry I won't interrupt your sleep for too long. I just wanted to thank you.

"Thank me?" That's the first. Gods didn't usually thank people/

Hecate nodded. "My children, my family have been recognized throughout this war and I wanted to extend my gratitude."

"Oh uh no problem," he said.

Hecate turned to the flames and raised her hand causing them to dance. "The second great prophecy may start sooner rather than later. Rest now for soon another war will come"

"Really?" He only heard of it from Rachel but frankly he was hoping it wouldn't be so soon. Well there goes a quiet summer. "So soon?"

"Mother what do you mean?" Alabaster asked.

Hecate stared into the flames as her form flickered; for a moment she appeared different a little formal and rigid. "We cannot choose when the next prophecy will start but rest assured it will be soon."

His heart sank as he looked at the ground. "Let me guess I might be a part of it?" He led the camp in this war it would only seem fit that he lead it in another war.

Hecate paused, her form shifting to that of a young girl. "We can only choose how we will react when the time for action comes. Be sure to prepare the camp and yourself." She paused and turned to him. "I cannot hide you from the other gods but if they insist on you being a part of it, I swear I will protect those you care about and take care of things in your mortal life."

"Uh thank you mam," He said. That's a surprisingly nice offer.

"I'll make sure to keep your life safe if things the gods have their way," Hecate smiled as her form shifted to that of a middle aged woman. "Your mother raised a good boy, a strong hero. I'm sure she is proud of you."

He laughed. "Oh I'm not sure about that." Though deep down he was proud of his mother and all that she had done and sacrificed for him.

The goddess turned to the flames. "This next war will be tough so prepare well. Daedalus, Circe, and Medea will do their part but the camp needs a leader."

He nodded and looked up at Alabaster. "Will you help me."

Alabaster smiled. "Of course. I won't just let anyone destroy the camp."

With that the two high fived each other. They were heroes but they owed everything to their mothers.

AN: Thank you all for reading and keeping up with this story. Sorry if it at times it felt boring but I honestly did my best to make the story the best it could be despite some personal problems.

For those disappointed in the lack of shipping sorry but I didn't want to force any romantic relationships in my story.

Unfortunately I'm dealing with a lot of things in my personal life and that is the reason I've been uploading this story multiple chapters at odd intervals. I am most likely going to take a break from writing for a bit, though I may upload a sequel to one of my other stories since it is already mostly done.

As for this story, as much as I loved writing about Alabaster and his relationship with the camp I don't feel a sequel in me for now or in the near future even if I do have a few ideas. For now I may write the sequels to my other stories and just publish them when they are done.

Thank you all for reading this story. Let me know what you think in the comments.
