Sora and Lilith Van Hellscream
Ever since Halloween, Lilith had a hard time fitting in. Much of the human side of New Salem considers her a pariah for, as they were to call it, conspiring with the Monsters. The only friends she has now at New Salem High are Chad and Clair.
Lilith remembers when she would never associate herself with the likes of them. But the Hellscream girl now values them as they don't make her feel like an outcast.
The only other people she would consider friends are not on her side of the town but are unexpectedly on the Monster's side.
Which is where she and Clair find themselves now.
Many Monsters are giving them wary glances but are afraid to do anything.
Why are they on the Monster side of town? One of the ghouls invited them to a sleepover. Or what they call a creepover. It was a really good thing that Clair asked for Frankie to explain a little as Lilith thought it was some kind of zombie party.
"Are you sure we're going the right way?" Lilith hefts her bag as it seems to get heavier the longer they're out here.
"Of course I do," Clair turns to her. "Why wouldn't I know exactly where a place is that I've never been to?"
Lilith stares at her friend for a second before. "I'll admit that sarcasm is your best charm, but there's a time and a place," she turns around. "We'll just have to reschedule this, uh, creepover—Oof!" the girl suddenly finds herself on the ground. "Watch where you're going, you…" she stops once she sees who it is.
"Lilith?" Sora held out a hand towards the girl.
The Hellscream girl accepts the offer. "Sora?" she is helped back up and the two stare at each other for a moment. Then, the only other present Normie gets between them.
"And Clair!" she smiles at the two and notices the slight blush both Sora and Lilith tried hiding by turning away.
"So…" Sora coughs and turns back to the girls. "What are you guys doing on this side of town?"
"Clawdeen invited us to a, um, creepover," the goth answers. "But we got lost and lucky us," she waves her phone. "We both forgot to charge our phones."
"Well, you could have just asked for direction."
"We tried," Lilith glances over at where a small group of Monsters are whispering and staring at them. "But not many around here are willing to do so."
"Yeah," the spiky haired boy sighs and tilts his head. "I was hoping things would have been better after Halloween."
"Oh, of course it should have been," Clair beams. "The one thing that will for sure to stop a centuries long feud is one big party."
Both Sora and Lilith blink at the goth.
"Um," Sora leans towards Lilith. "Is she…"
"Being sarcastic?" the blonde nods. "Yes. yes she is."
"Just wanted to make sure," he straightens back up. "Well, Clawdeen's house is across town," the boy points behind him. "I'll take you there."
"Tha—" Clair was about to thank Sora when Lilith cut her off.
"Where your help is much appreciated, Sora. We don't want to be a bother."
The boy gives them that goofy smile of his. "You won't be a bother," he places his hands behind his head and starts walking away. "I'm actually heading there myself."
"Y-you are?" Lilith questions as she and Clair follow him.
"Yeah! Since his sisters are having a creepover, Clawd is supposed to be out of the house and the entire team decided to have a guys' night. So, I'm meeting Clawd at his place before heading out with the rest of the boys."
.oOo.
After reaching the Wolf household, Lilith and Clair met Clawdeen's parents who briefly gives a worried glance at the two Normie girls but is reassured by the fact that they showed up with Sora. Clawd then came out and the two boys fist bumped before taking off. The Wolf mother then leads the Normie girls to Clawdeen's and Howleen's room.
Now, everyone is enjoying a game certain game. With exception for Lilith whose mind is preoccupied. Her mind is then brought back to the here in now by fingers snapping in front of her face.
"Hey, Lilith!" Cleo calls out. "Truth or Scare?"
The blonde human raises a brow. "Truth or Scare?"
"You know? Truth or Scare." Frankie explains. "It's like the most basic in creepover games. You either be honest with any question we ask or do something that you would otherwise never do."
Clair then explains. "It's pretty much their version of Truth or Dare."
"Oh! Uhh…" Lilith actually had to think this through. "…Scare I guess." Oh, she really hopes that wasn't a mistake.
"Okay then," Cleo thought for a moment. "I scare you—"
"I scare you to call the boy you like and ask him out," Clair cuts the Mummy off and smirks at her fellow Normie.
It was a mistake. "Y-you can't do that!" Lilith points an accusatory finger at the goth girl. "Was it even your turn to ask?"
"No," the Egyptian Princess informs Lilith who sighs in momentary relief. "But that's a good one." It was then that all the ghouls and Clair stared at her. "Well?"
"I-I can't do that!" the blonde normie crosses her arms.
The only other Normie crosses her arms and smirks. "And why not?"
"B-because I don't have his number."
Clair holds out her newly charged phone. "You can use mine."
"And what makes you think you have his number?"
The goth's smile only continues to grow as she sets her phone down. "Because I have a pretty good idea who it is and according to the rules, you must follow through with the Scare."
"Or what?"
Draculaura speaks up. "Then you must face some sort of punishment as you lost the game."
Lilith looks among all the ghouls among them. Most of whom are curious as to who the mystery boy is. "Fine!" with a heavy sigh, the Hellscream holds out her hand to Clair and only receives a raised brow. "What!? I really don't have his number." The goth shrugs as she passes her device over.
It wasn't hard to find the number as there were only a handful of contacts. Those being her, Clair's parents, Chad, a few of the ghouls here, Jackson/Holt, and his number.
Just as Lilith was about to hit call, Cleo adds, "And put it on speaker. Just to make sure you actually call him.
The blonde Normie sighs yet again before finally hitting the button and it starts ringing. "Please don't answer, please don't answer."
After only a few rings, someon answers. "Hey, Clair!"
Every ghoul had to cover their mouths to keep their gasps silent as they all recognized the voice.
"H-hi, Sora."
"Lilith?" the confusion can be heard in the boy's voice. "I could have sworn it was Clair's number?"
"You're not mistaken," Lilith informs him. "I didn't have your number, so I borrowed her phone," the Hellscream glances at Clair who's still smirking. "I-I-I was wondering if, if you would like to…" she then looks over at all the ghouls who are silently, yet excitedly pushing her on.
The boy then asks, "Would I like to what?"
"Oh, uh, would you like to hang out sometime. Just the two of us." she waited in silence for what seems like eternity as the Hellscream knew what is about to come.
"Sure!" is Sora's Answer.
"Yes!" all the ghouls silently cheered while Clair just nodded.
"Wha…!?" that surprised Lilith. "Th-that's great. What would you like to do?"
"Dunno. I'm up for anything. How about a day at the Maul?"
"That's not on the Monster side is it? Not that there's anything wrong with the Monster side!" Lilith's wide eyes glance over at the present ghouls, knowing exactly how that sounded. Many of them are giving her an accusatory glare and a couple look away not wanting to let the fact they feel upset be known. Clair though, is giving her fellow human a sad smile.
"Whichever you're comfortable with."
"Thanks, Sora. I'll call you later for more details."
"I'm looking forward to it!"
With that, Lilith hangs up the phone and turns to everyone else. "About that, I—"
"No need to explain," Cleo huffs. "You're far more comfortable on the Normie side than our side." the mummy gets up. "I think I'll head home."
"She's not comfortable on either side," Clair speaks up, causing the Egyptian to stop at the door. "Ever since Halloween, many of the crowds that used to gather around Lilith wants nothing to do with her. And as for the Monster side? She's a Hellscream. After word got around of what her uncle did at your school. Not many monsters are as welcome as you."
"Honestly," Lilith looks down. "I'm surprised that Sora agreed for a date giving what my Uncle put him through." she suddenly found herself in a hug by a certain lime green ghoul.
"Sora isn't the kind of guy who would hold what someone else done on someone who had nothing to do with it," Frankie explains. "He's too kind for that."
"Or naïve," Clawdeen comments and everyone stares at the Wolf ghoul. "You honestly can't say I'm wrong."
Everyone shrugs and nods their heads, agreeing with the statement.
"Well," Cleo sits back down and starts filing her nails. "I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions, Lilith. Now, the only matter left is figuring who won the betting pool."
The ghouls and two normies stare at one another in confusion before asking, "Betting pool?"
.oOo.
Sora hangs up the phone and rolls a dice on a map with small figures sitting on top of it. "Yes! Nat 20!" he then hears a series of groans. Looking up he finds that his friends are all holding their heads in. "What's wrong? I just killed the Boss." He picks up the largest figure on the map.
Gil sighs as he throws a few bills on the table as do many of the other guys, "It's not about the game."
The Keybearer tilts his head. "Then, what is it?"
"Dude!" Deuce sets an arm over the normie's shoulders. "Let me ask you something," the gorgon also throws some cash onto the already growing pile. "Have you not noticed how many of the ghouls seemingly flock around you?"
"Uh…?"
"Never mind," Deuce waves off the question. "After knowing you for a while, it's not surprising that you're friendly with everyone you meet. But seeing the way many of the ghouls look at you, we kinda made bets on which one you'd go out with. My money was on Frankie."
Manny huffs, "I thought for sure it be Venus."
Heath shrugs, "I was hoping for Jinafire."
Gil sighs, "I figured it be Lorna."
"I put my sister down," Clawd confesses.
"Okay," Sora then looks over his friends. "So, who won?"
"Dunno," Deuce shrugs and turns to the half normie. "Jackson was doing the bookkeeping."
Jackson takes out a list and starts going through it. "Let's see. Invisibilly said Kyomi, Johnny thought Vandala, I wanted Isi, it looks like Holt scratched those names out and put Gooliope, Neighthan added Avea, Slow-mo said something about Skelita, Chad stopped by for Clair's name, and the one who guessed Lilith was…" the boy's glasses nearly fell off as he looks up at the rest of the guys. "You're not gonna believe this." and reveals the name and all the boys' eyes widen at what was written there.
.oOo.
The Cloaked Figure takes a single step out of shadows. "Perhaps I should cause a little chaos," he raises his hand as it gives off a dark energy. "Otherwise, everyone will forget that I exi—" his train of thought is cut off by ringing. "Rrgh!" he starts patting himself down. "Why did I let her talk me into getting one of these things?" he takes out an iCoffin and answers. "What is it!?... Yeah, that's me… You're kidding!? I did that as a joke… Of course, I want the money! I'm a heartless, maniacal, mad man. Not stupid." He then melts back into the shadows.
