Chapter 574: Healing from the muta-crisis.
(Spellman Hell Mansion.)
On the roof of the mansion is Loona, Sergei's hellhound wife and mother to Fenrir and Felicia and she looks to the sky and is concerned.
The day before she got word about what happened in another world, which seemed to sound normal, but then it all went to shit storm crazy when she found out about what had happened to her nephew Lincoln.
'Fuck. He turned into a mutated hellhound? Why? What the fucking why did he turn into a white-furred, mutant hellhound?'
Loona closes her eyes and she recalls everything else she heard from the conflict in the other world's New York City and how much damage has been done, but not to the city, but to one of their own heroes. 'He must've told the others about this shit, it's way too obvious and chances now they know about this other fucking world that involves me and Lincoln. What the fuck do we do now?'
Then she gets a message from her phone, but when she checks it, Loona is surprised to see whose it from. It's from her nephew, Lincoln Spellman.
Lincoln – Hey there Auntie Loona. Yeah, I'm a bit fine now, chilling with my mom, Luna and trying to heal after what we went through. This message is to inform you, that the only ones who I told about the other world parallel to ours, I told to Luna, Sam, Jordan and Linka. They said they'll keep the secret safe until the time comes for the rest of us to tell the others.
I hope you're doing okay, I know that you heard about what had happened to me and I know uncle Sergei is gonna be confused and start questioning why that shit happened to me, but just try not to answer him all he needs. Talk to you later.
Loona sighs in relief and she puts her phone away. 'Thank Satan that's done with. The others might not be ready to understand the issue that I have with the kid, a protective instinct that might be linked with this other world, the Helluva Loud Luck shit and all that fucking stuff.'
Loona then sees Sergei come up to the roof and stand next to her. "Well, the pups are doing fine now and everyone else is trying to heal or calm down after what we had just witnessed the other day."
Loona leans her head onto Sergei's side. "I don't know what else to say about what happened to Lincoln. A hellhound? I don't know what the fuck that's all about, chances it could've been an enhanced mutagen or whatever they called it."
Sergei thinks about this. "Hmm, that does make sense. Still, it could've been worse. Like maybe he'd turn into some kind of mutated squirrel, or mutated rabbit, or a wolverine."
Loona then looks to Sergei confused at what he just said. "Wolverine? Really?"
"The possibilities of that happening are endless and also sound shitty" replied Sergei.
They remain like this and look to the sky. "So, what else is going on with you and Leon tomorrow?" asked Loona.
Sergei then recalls the plan. "We're gonna gun up to challenge the Smackdown Tag team Champions."
(Rose Brood Hive Cluster.)
Located at what used to be the Royal Woods Dump, is where Jordan Rosato's swarm is located and there is where her forces still remain, to help keep the town safe and face anything coming to attack their home.
Right now Jordan and Neil are both looking at the enhancements from what Abathur has done to the Zerg with the Mutagen from Dimension-X.
Lincoln and Jordan are both confused and surprised. "What the hell are we looking at?"
They look at the mutated Zergling. The creature now has extra-large mandibles to the back, the tail has some spikes on its end and it has downward facing tusks and a large sharp claw at the back legs.
Abathur then explains them the changes. "Have been processing on enhancements to Zerglings. Mutagen-X is a working progress and has given Zerglings increase in attacks and balancing evasive strides when in combat, along with the ability to dig faster and deeper when underground."
"Have also enhanced Zerglings with venom glands from Mutagen-X, now Zerglings may inflict similar poison damage to that of Hydralisk spine shots and also enhanced survivability similar to Roach."
"Whoa! What else did you do with the Mutagen-X?" asked Jordan.
"Made many more experiments and now half of Zerg Swam is modified with Mutagen-X. Hydralisks now have capabilities to tunnel faster and attack with four spine shots instead of two, but with reasonable slow attack speed. Self-Healing modified for improved survivability"
"Mutalisks may now be capable of carrying Zerglings through special ventral sacs similar to that from Overlords, will also begin to explode into acidic fluids when killed, but may also attempt to self-destruct to anything flying within range, similar to that of Banelings and Scourge."
"Roaches may now regenerate zerg plating faster and also consume flesh of enemies to heal faster, as well to now enhancing armored plating to deflect simple Terran marine attacks and high-velocity rounds, have also modified Roaches to inflict heavy damage to enemy fortifications."
Neil and Jordan are impressed. Then Neil asks. "And what of that Kraang that I gave to you?"
"Kraang experiment complete, now enhanced essence within Infestor's. Now with more brain mass and new capabilities to support army in battle, along with new modifications."
"And what are these new capabilities?" asked Jordan. They go over and see the newly mutated Infestor. It had long tentacles moving from the side of t's body, and its legs have sharp toes along with four sets of eyes to the head and an armored back and head. It also has some spikes to its forehead.
"Through Mutagen-X, Infestors may now be capable of self-defense, was not ready before, ready now. Infestor's may now heal and mend wounded zerg forces and Hive Cluster, along with spawning creep tumors and infesting enemies with bio-chemical shots. Other abilities still remain the same. Infestor's may now use neural parasite to mind control flying targets, improved survivability acquired."
Neil and Jordan are surprised indeed. "Wow! This is amazingly scary" said Neil. "Well done Abathur, your work exceeds you once again."
"Organism Abathur purpose to enhance and improve Swarm, successful construction. More experiments are needed, will return to work now." They watch as Abathur goes back into the Leviathan to continue his work with the mutagen-X.
Neil sighs. "Well, this is a big change that I did not see coming."
"Same" replied Jordan. But she was getting one major concern. 'Lincoln, I hope you're doing okay.'
(Spellman Estate.)
The whole place is quiet and with the school day done, even though two students didn't attend school for the day and just stuck with some online classes for the remaining day.
Gwen and lily are in the backyard and she's helping Lily read and the toddler is learning quite well, she's learnin fast.
Michelle is in the kitchen and drinking a cup of tea, trying to calm down after everything that had happened between Lincoln and Luna.
The other family members haven't come back home yet, they either are with their friends or a work. Coraline is home and she goes through her book on ancient witching myths and trials.
But in the room of Luna, that's where Lincoln and Luna are staying at. Even though they have decided to bunker with others, they still come together for a moment like this and that moment is the two of them in the same bathtub, and trying to calm down and find some peace.
Both of them have no clothes on, and are leading onto each other. Luna is in her Frost hero form.
Luna pulls Lincoln close to her and she looks down to see her son not looking happy. "Linc, look at me."
Lincoln looks to his mom, and the sight of his upset face was enough to make Luna upset. She knows why he's upset and uneasy.
"Linc, kiddo. I know that you're still upset after the whole mutagen thing, but it's over now and it's not gonna happen again. You're back to normal and not gonna hurt us, you managed to fight back and regain yourself and be happy that we're all together and okay."
Lincoln looks to the water. "Sorry, mom. But after what happened, it hurt me to know that I nearly killed you." He then wipes away some of his tears. "I mean….. I knew what was happening and I wanted to stop, but I didn't know how. I was so haunted by the pain they put into me and it reminded me of….. Of the…."
Lincoln sheds some more tears and so Luna embraces her kid, she knows what he means. The entire experience of being trapped within something furry was a dark memory of the damned squirrel suit and the day the loud family was shattered, from the belief of Bad Luck.
Luna hugs her son close and she runs her hand through his white hair and she kisses his forehead. "Shh, take it easy there kiddo. Everything's gonna be alright now, and it's not gonna happen again."
Luna then lifts him up and lets him sit onto her lap, and they both stay in thi embrace as Lincoln rests his head onto Luna's chest and continues to cry.
Luna is deeply angered the one thing she wants to do is hunt down that fly mutant who made her son into that hellhound mutation of pain and suffering. 'When they do find that fucking fly named Stockman, I'm gonna kill him ten times till he begs for me to forgive him!'
Luna is unaware that she has turned into her demon form, yet Lincoln doesn't mind and remains in her embrace.
"M-Mom, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I tried to kill you. I'm so sorry mom."
Luna then kisses his head once again and she continues to hug him close to her. "It's gonna be alright now Lincoln. Be calm now my sweet child, I'm not mad at you. I know you didn't mean to hurt me and I forgive you for it. No more tears now my wayward son."
Luna knows that he won't be okay until the next day possibly. She'll have to spend some time with him until he's back to the Lincoln she knows and cares for.
Luna also recalls that soon on February 14 is Valentine's Day, and also the Middle School and High School prom.
'If Linc is still having trouble, then I know Jordan and Sam will understand why we can't go.'
They both stay in this embrace and in each other's company.
