Akala's Psychic Guardian

I had been Champion for a week and what had I done during that time? Well, took a bit of a breather. If by breather I mean constantly meet my new fans, some in my face. And that's not all; following the Pokémon League opening, there are lots of people who wanted to try the Island Challenge! Of course, on Melemele Island, it's partially down to Tapu Koko if it sees them as worthy or not.

"So," Mum said. "What are you going to do today?"

"That's easy!" I said. "I'm going to catch Tapu Lele! I want more people to take on the Trials and prove my worth a bit more! I already have Tapu Koko, so let's go the next step!"

Melemele Island – Akala Island

Location: Konikoni City

"Well at leazzt we didn't ride thozze Mantine. Roto."

In the distance, I spotted Olivia. I waved, and she waved back. "Okay Rotom, to the Ruins of Life!"

Location: Akala Outskirts

Walking this way really brought back memories of my time doing the Trials. This was of course the road to where I would battle Olivia for my second Grand Trial.

"So," Rotom Dex asked. "What do you think Faba izz planning? Roto?"

"I don't know," I replied. "I see he's mastered teleportation. Could that be between different areas? Like, could he transport from say Poni Island to Akala Island lickity split? Are we talking between regions? Can he say travel between Alola and Sinnoh on a whim?"

"Maybe between dimensionzz. Roto."

"Dimensions?" I asked. Of course. Lusamine researched alternate dimensions, specifically Ultra Space. Faba did seem mad enough to try something like that.

"And then there'zz Necrozzma. Roto. I'm sure Colrezz hazz thingzz down packed."

Yeah, that worried me to. What was he going on about exactly?

Location: Ruins of Life

We went inside the ruins with the pink engravings on it. We walked through the Ruins which of course had engravings of Tapu Lele saving Akala Island in various scenarios.

"Look!" Rotom Dex noticed some large-square stones.

"I know what I need to do!" I shouted. "Machamp!" Using the Ride Pager, I summoned Machamp and had it push the stones into the holes.

Eventually, we got to the shrine of Tapu Lele.

"Will thizz work? Roto?"

"Only one way to find out," I said. "Tapu Lele… are you there?"

We heard a fluttery sound behind us, and Tapu Lele revealed itself! "There it izz! Roto!"

"You ready?" I asked it. Tapu Lele was more than ready.

Elliott Vs. Tapu Lele

Tapu Lele created a Terrain where everything was pink.

"Wow! Roto! Thizz izz Psychic Terrain! It izz the newezzt Terrain move dizzcovered!"

"It didn't use it though," I said. "Must be Tapu Lele's Ability. I choose Mismagius!" I shouted. "Use Shadow Ball!" Mismagius fired a black ball at Tapu Lele. It almost did half. Then, Tapu Lele fired a Psychic shockwave at Mismagius.

"That'zz Extrasensory! Roto!"

"Now use Shock Wave!" Mismagius fired electricity at Tapu Lele. Then, Tapu Lele hit Mismagius with a Moonblast. Upon impact, Mismagius' Sp. Attack fell.

"Just what we need! Now use Psychic!" Mismagius hit Tapu Lele with a Psychic blast that brought Tapu Lele down to red health. Tapu Lele then used Extrasensory again. "Now let's try this! Go Ultra Ball!" I threw the black and yellow Pokéball at Tapu Lele. We watched the ball rock back and forth… but Tapu Lele burst out! Tapu Lele used another Moonblast. This finally knocked out Mismagius.

"Amazzing! Roto!"

"Go Incineroar!" I shouted. No Psychic Type moves could hit this one. "Let's go Ultra Ball!" I threw another Ultra Ball, and Tapu Lele went inside…

And it clicked shut!

"I caught it!" I shouted. "I actually did!"

"You know what to do, Roto."

I did. I let Tapu Lele out of the Ball. "I won't put you in the PC. It is still your duty to guard Akala Island. But I am also your Trainer now. I would like you to start endorsing more people who are worthy, now that we have a Pokémon League. And if I need you, please come to my aid."

Tapu Lele jumped about happily. "I think it'zz happy to! Now let'zz go tell Professor Kukui the good newzz!"

Location: Konikoni City Pokémon Center

"That's amazing news!" said Kukui over the phone. "So, Tapu Bulu next?"

"That's right!" I said. "I can't wait! More people will be taking on the Alola League before you know it!" With that, I hung up. "So, Ula'ula?"

"Hold on." I was greeted by a woman wearing a black suit. She had short-purple hair. "Would you happen to be Elliott Mitchell?"

"Champion of Alola, incredibly smart. Yeah, that's him. "

"Come with me," she said.

Location: Konikoni City

The woman brought me behind the lighthouse.

"I hope we're not doing any shady deals," I said.

"Not at all. This is the last person you'd want to be dealing with. Meet… Detective Looker."

We were greeted by a man wearing a brown coat. "Thank you, Anabel." He went over to Rotom Dex. "What a fascinating contraption."

"Roto! I'm a Pokédex, and narrator of a move encyclopaedia! Zzt zzt!"

"Interesting," Looker said. "Sorry, this is my assistant, Anabel. She has amnesia and washed up on the shores of Alola two years ago after being carried over by a Wailord. At that point, I had been in Alola a year. I instantly recognised her to be the Tower Tycoon of Hoenn's Battle Frontier, but she has been working with me whilst she gets her memories back. However, this has been to little success. Despite this, Anabel has remained a valuable asset ever since I moved operations from Kalos to Alola."

"Why don't you just contact the Battle Frontier?" I asked.

"She won't let me," Looker said. "Apparently she does have vague memories of something happening those two years ago which shakes her up a bit…"

"Oh," I replied. "But why do you need me?"

"Because…" Looker said. "That Faba. Do you know him?"

"Know him?" I said. "Yeah, though I'm not sure where he is."

"I know," Looker said. "But I have an idea. Meet me in Heahea City tomorrow. I know you have your own things to do, but this is the fate of the world we are talking about."

I looked at Rotom Dex. "Is this what Gladion was talking about?"

Zzt! Tapu Lele caught! Roto! A Psychic Type! And in honour of Amnesiac Anabel… I forgot the move today! Zzt zzt!

Wait, it'zz Amnesia!

Amnesia hazz the uzzer forget it'zz concernzz, thuzz raizzing it'zz Sp. Defenzze by two stagezz!
