Episode 3: The Bakugan Battle Tournament
-BBT Stadium, Wardington, Earth-
Jay: We're here. It's finally time!
Jay with Leonidas on his shoulder stood near a large, round stadium, where many kids were entering.
Jay: The Bakugan Battle Tournament Stadium! The place where all Brawlers of the world will participate! I can't wait!
Leonidas, however, wasn't interested in this.
Leonidas: I didn't come here to see some Human buildings, I came to fight!
Jay: Calm down, Leonidas. We'll start fighting as soon as we register.
With that said, he and Leonidas entered the building. After their registration was done, Jay was walking through the halls as he looked in awe at the place.
Jay: Wow. I know he's the son of the head of the Marukura company, but for Marucho to build this for the tournament is quite surprising!
Speaking of Marucho, the boy himself appeared on a screen that was hanging on the ceiling.
Marucho: Greetings everyone, and welcome to the Bakugan Battle Tournament! Here everyone watches these exciting battles safely from our stands, which will also be transported to the other Dimension.
Many kids entered the stands and sat on their respective seats as they were excited for the tournament to begin. Then on the field two Brawlers entered ready to battle.
Marucho: And we have a few special stages for later in the tournament, which will make these battles even more exciting!
The two Brawlers brought out their Gate Cards and were transported to the Battle Dimension along with the spectators, who were excited at being here.
Marucho: Now buckle up and let's…
Everyone: Bakugan Brawl!
Both kids threw their Bakugan on the field, and rising out of the light was a Darkus Falconeer and Subterra Fear Ripper as they clashed at each other.
-Break Room, BBT Stadium, Wardington, Earth-
The Break Room is a round room, with seats and computers where the competitors can relax and check the results of the tournament. Jay was sitting in front of one of the computers after he was done registering. Leonidas was sitting at his side as Jay checked on the computers.
Jay: Alright, let's see who I will be facing today.
Jay checked it out on his computer, and was surprised to see who his first opponent was.
Jay: No way… Shuji?
Leonidas: Who is this Shuji?
Jay: He's Akira's big brother. You know, the one that we had our first fight together.
He continued checking until he spotted two familiar faces; Runo and Marucho of the Battle Brawlers.
Jay: Man, talk about competition. My first tournament and Runo and Marucho are entered.
Leonidas groaned however as he wasn't very interested in that.
Leonidas: They're just names to me. I will crush them!
Jay then turned to his Bakugan partner as he began to worry about his behaviour.
Jay: Uh, what's the deal? You sound angry.
Leonidas: I'm not angry, I just don't fear weak Humans.
Jay: Don't freak me out! It's like you hate every Bakugan or something. Lighten up, will ya?
Leonidas hesitated about that until he agreed to him.
Leonidas: As you say… let's battle! Grrr!
The Bakugan closed his form as he growled. Jay hesitated to pick him up until he grabbed him and looked at his unique Bakugan.
Jay: You have quite the fire, are you, Leo?
-Battlefield, BBT Stadium, Wardinton, Earth-
At the battlefield, Jay stood there ready to fight with Leonidas on his shoulder. On the other side stood Shujin with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face.
Shuji: Get ready, kid! Cause this I'm ready to crush you!
Jay: Don't count on it, Shuji! You see, I've gotten a lot better since we last saw each other!
Both of them took out their Gate Cards as they got ready to battle.
Shuji: Just you wait! I'll have your Bakugan beneath my feet!
-Battle Dimension-
Shuji: Aaaaah…
Shuji was slack jawed as he saw his beat up Darkus Fear Ripper was beneath Leonidas' feet.
Jay: Ability Card, activate! Raging Pyrus!
Leonidas:( Roar)...!
Leonidas roared as he fired a stream of red fire from his mouth at the Fear Ripper beneath his feet, quickly defeating him.
-Battlefield, BBS Stadium, Wardington, Earth-
Everyone returned to the Real World as Shuji was on his knees in shock and a smoked Fear Ripper near him.
Jay: And that's how we battle!
The spectators cheered at Jay's victory as he saluted them before leaving the field. However, he was also watched by Runo and Marucho as they saw his entire fight before leaving the scene.
The two were walking in the halls as they talked about the new Brawler.
Runo: So that's the kid Dan told us about. Jay, was it?
Marucho: Yeah. And I'll say that his skills are pretty good. But…
Runo nodded as she knew what Marucho was trying to say.
Runo: Yeah. His Bakugan fights very aggressively. What do you know about him, Tigrerra?
Runo turned to her Bakugan on her shoulder. Tigrerra is a Haos White Tiger Bakugan as she looked at Runo.
Tigrerra: Honestly, Runo, I've never heard of a Bakugan called Leonidas before.
That sure surprised Runo, as she knew that Bakugan has learned of any kind of races.
Runo: For real, Tigrerra?!
Marucho: What about you, Preyas?
Preyas is an Aquos Bakugan, and he looks reptilian-like. If he was in his true form he would have shrugged his shoulders.
Preyas: Despite being the angriest Bakugan I've ever seen; nope, sorry pal, but I don't know either.
This made the two Battle Brawlers curious as they wondered who Leonidas was.
-Break Room, BBT Stadium, Wardington, Earth-
Back at the Break Room, Jay was checking on the computer again while Leonidas was sitting in his previous spot. He then noticed, not much of a surprise, that his next opponent is Runo Misaki, the Haos Battle Brawler.
Jay: So it seems I'll be facing Runo after all. Man, this will be a tough battle.
Leonidas, once again, wasn't interested in that.
Leonidas: Their names mean nothing. I will still defeat them anyway.
Jay however, had to disagree with him.
Jay: You're wrong, Leonidas. Runo already proved to be a strong Brawler along with Marucho. So we can't see them as the same as the rest of the challengers.
Leonidas: So you say, unlike the fat one, these two are strong?
Jay nearly laughed when he called Shuji fat.
Jay: Yep. Pretty much.
Leonidas: Heh… now I am very eager to face them now.
Jay smiled as he picked Leonidas.
Jay: That's the spirit! We came into this Tournament to win and that's something only we can do together!
-Battlefield, BBT Stadium, Wardington, Earth-
Commentator: Hi there, everyone! I'm Commentator Osamu, and welcome to the second round of the Tournament!
The guy that was talking was a man wearing a grey suit and a purple necktie. He has short hair, grey eyes, round glasses, and buck teeth.
Osamu: For the first challenger of the second round is Jayden Brand, a Pyrus Brawler with promising skills!
Jay was standing on the other side of the field with Leonidas on his shoulder.
Osamu: And his opponent is Runo Misaki, the Haos Brawler! Who effortlessly won the first round.
Runo was standing there with her hands on her hips as she addressed Jay.
Runo: So you're Jay? Dan's been talking about you, saying he met some interesting Brawler.
Jay: Thanks, and while it's great that I get to fight against you, I'm still gonna give my all to win.
Suddenly, Leonidas interrupted between the two.
Leonidas: Enough talking! Let's battle already!
Both Runo and Jay took out their Gate Cards.
Runo and Jay: Field, open!
-Battle Dimension-
Inside the white field dimension, Jay and Runo stood ready to fight with the spectators eager to see Runo fight.
Runo/Jay: Gate Card, set!
Both Jay and Runo threw their Gate Cards at the same time. As Jay's glowed red, Runo's Gate Card glowed yellow. Jay then threw his Bakugan first.
Jay: Bakugan, Brawl! Bakugan stand! Fly, Pyrus Falconeer!
The Bakugan landed on Jay's Gate Card and flying from the red light was a humanoid Falcon Bakugan.
Pyrus Falconeer(340Gs)
Runo: Alright, now it's my turn! Bakugan Brawl!
Runo threw her Bakugan at Jay's field as its ball form opened.
Runo: Bakugan, stand! Haos Hynoid!
Rising out of the yellow light was a Hyena-like Bakugan that stood up on his hind legs, like a WereWolf.
Haos Hynoid(360Gs)
Jay: Hynoid may be stronger than Falconeer, but this will change things! Gate Card, open! Character!
The Gate Card revealed itself to be a character card, which showed Falconeer's image on it.
Jay: This will double Falconeer's power!
Pyrus Falconeer(340×2=680Gs)
Falconeer flew up before diving down to take out Hynoid.
Runo: Cute. But that isn't enough! Ability Card, activate! Rapid Haos!
At the activation of Runo's card, one of her Bakugan was covered in light and flew towards the field.
Runo: Go join the fight, Saurus!
Rising from the light was Haos Saurus, who stood in front of Falconeer's path as Hynoid stood behind him.
Haos Hynoid/Saurus(360+380=740Gs)
Jay: Oh no!
Saurus quickly punched Falconeer and the Pyrus Bakugan landed hard on his back. Hynoid then came out behind Saurus and pounced on Falconeer, defeating him.

Falconeer went back into his ball form while Hynoid and Saurus went back to Runo's hand. Jay picked Falconeer from the ground as he looked at Runo.
Jay: It's just like I've heard. Runo's fighting style is combining the strength of her Bakugan.
Leonidas: You should have sent me instead! Numbers mean nothing to me!
Jay: You have to wait since I'll leave you for her strongest Bakugan, Tigrerra.
Jay then threw another Gate Card on the field.
Jay: Gat Card, set! Bakugan Brawl! Pyrus Siege!
Jay threw his next Bakugan on Runo's field and rising from the light was Siege as his cape flowed.
Pyrus Siege(400Gs)
Runo: Alright. Bakugan, Brawl! Saurus stand!
Saurus stood in front of Siege as he snorted.
Haos Saurus(380Gs)
Both Saurus and Siege charged at one another. Siege was sure to win as he held his staff in front, but then Runo intervened.
Runo: Gate Card, open! Triple Battle!
The Command Card was activated and a barrier of light rose from the middle of it, blocking Siege's staff. Then one of Runo's Bakugan flew towards the field again. It was Hynoid again.
Haos Saurus/Hynoid(380+360=740Gs)
The barrier disappears and the battle resumes. Runo's Bakugan outnumbered and outmatched Jay's.
Jay: Stand your ground, Siege! Until they get closer!
Siege nodded as he held his ground, which confused Runo.
Runo: What is he planning?
Both Saurus and Hynoid continued charging towards Siege, until Jay gave the signal.
Jay: Now!
Just before the two Haos Bakugan collided with Siege, the Knight Bakugan jumped in the air and was now above them, surprising Runo!
Runo: Huh?!
Jay: Ability Card, activate!
Jay the Ability Card that will turn the tides.
Jay: Pyrus Warrior!
Siege started to glow as well as Leonidas.
Jay: Pyrus Warrior will transfer the power of one of my Pyrus Bakugan to siege, how's that?!
Pyrus Siege(400+450=850Gs)
Runo: Oh no!
Siege quickly fell down and slammed his staff on the floor. Causing an explosion that engulfed the two Haos Bakugan and turned them back into ball form. Siege then went back to Jay's hand.

Tigrerra floated beside Runo as she took notice of what happened.
Tigrerra: He knew that you would make a move to counter his move. That's why he made Siege wait at the last moment, so you wouldn't use an Ability Card in time.
Runo: This kid is good… but I'm better! Gate Card, set!
Runo set another Gate Card before grabbing Tigrerra.
Runo: Bakugan, Brawl, Bakugan, stand!
Tigrerra landed on Jay's Gate Card and was engulfed in yellow light. Rising from it was the White Tiger Bakugan as she roared.
Runo: Show them what you can do, Tigrerra!
Tigrerra: (Roar)...!
Haos Tigrerra(340Gs)
Jay: Go, Siege!
Jay threw Siege again back into the field. He rose from the red light in front of Tigrerra as he stood ready to fight the White Tiger.
Pyrus Siege(400Gs)
Jay: Gate Card, open!
Jay's Gate Card was activated, and it was an Attribute Card that filled the field with flames and powered Siege.
Pyrus Siege(400+80=480Gs)
Siege brought down his staff on Tigrerra, but she dodged it. It is then that Runo activated an Ability Card.
Runo: Ability Card, activate! Pure Light!
Jay has never heard of that ability before.
Jay: What is Pure Light?
Runo: Pure Light is an ability that revives any defeated Bakugan so they can fight again!
As she said that her Saurus was covered in yellow light as it floated back to Runo's hand.
Jay: Even so, you can't use him! Go, Siege!
Siege nodded as he attacked again, but then Runo had another surprise.
Runo: Ability Card, activate! Rapid Haos!
Suddenly Saurus ball form glowed and flew into the field. He turned into his true form and grabbed the spear just in time before it could hit Tigrerra.
Jay: What the?!
Runo: We can still use more than one Ability Card, you know?
Haos Tigrerra/Saurus(340+380=720Gs)
Runo: Get them, guys!
With increased strength, Saurus snapped Siege's spear. The Knight Bakugan stumbled back as Tigrerra charged and slashed Siege with her claws, turning him back to ball form.

The audience cheered at Runo's victory as her two Bakugan returned to her hand. Jay turned to Leonidas as he had him in his hand.
Jay: Runo's tacting in beating me in numbers is turning to her favor, but I know you're the only one who has a chance against that.
Leonidas: Yes, it doesn't matter how many numbers there are, they will still be crushed by me!
Jay: Then let's do this then!
Leonidas closed his form as Jay threw him on Runo's field.
Jay: Bakugan, Brawl! Bakugan, stand! Pyrus Leonidas!
Rising from the light was Leonidas as he roared.
Leonidas: RROOOOOAAAAAAAR!
Pyrus Leonidas(450Gs)
Runo: Let's go, Tigrerra! Bakugan, Brawl! Bakugan, Stand!
Runo threw her partner Bakugan at Leonidas. When she landed her ball form glowed and she appeared on the field again.
Tigrerra: (Roar)...!
Haos Tigrerra(340Gs)
Leonidas wasted no time in beating his wings as he launched himself towards Tigrerra, ready to slash her with his own claws, but Runo reacted quickly.
Runo: Ability Card, activate! Rapid Haos!
Saurus ball form glowed again and flew into the field.
Jay: She had another one?!
Saurus quickly turned into his true form and punched Leonidas in the face before he could reach Tigrerra.
Leonidas: AAAAAH!
Jay: Leonidas!
Leonidas landed hard on the ground as Jay was concerned for his Bakugan.
Haos Tigrerra/Saurus(340+380=720Gs)
Jay: Are you alright, Leonidas?
Leonidas: Urg…
Leonidas angrily got back up as he glared at the two Bakugan.
Tigrerra: Let's go, Saurus!
Saurus: Yeah!
Both Tigrerra and Saurus charged at Leonidas, as they had the advantage over him.
Runo: There's no way he can get out of this!
It all seemed over for Leonidas, but then Jay took out an Ability Card and smiled.
Jay: Don't underestimate Leonidas! Ability Card, activate! Dragon's Roar!
Leonidas's eyes glowed red as he spread his wings, took a deep breath, and let out a guttural roar that shook the entire field!
Leonidas: RRRROOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRR!
The roar was so strong it sended a shockwave that blew Tigrerra and Saurus off their feet, while Runo blocked her ears as the sound was loud.
Haos Tigrerra/Saurus(720-80-80=560Gs)
Pyrus Leonidas(450+80+80=610Gs)
Jay: See that? Not only does Dragon's Roar subtract 80Gs from your Bakugan, but also increases Leonidas's power by 80 for each Bakugan! Now numbers wouldn't be a problem for him.
Leonidas took a deep breath after that loud roar he unleashed. His body was then covered in a red aura as a result of his power increase.
Runo: Ow, my ears! You'll pay for that, kid! Gate Card, open!
Runo's Gate Card has been activated and revealed to be an Attribute Card for Haos. The whole field changed to a world made of light and Saurus and Tigrerra power increased.
Haos Tigrerra/Saurus(560+30+30=620Gs)
Tigrerra and Saurus attacked again as the White Tiger Bakugan slashed Leonidas with her golden claws.
Tigrerra: RRAAAAAW!
Leonidas: GRAAAAAAH!
Saurus then delivered another punch, which pushed Leonidas back before dropping on one knee.
Jay: Hang on, Leonidas! Ability Card, activate! Blazing Break!
Leonidas: Alright!
Leonidas' hands were engulfed in flames as he punched on the Gate Card. Cracks of flames appeared on the Gate Card before it shattered, and the world of light vanished along with their increase in power.
Haos Tigrerra/Saurus(620-30-30=560Gs)
Jay: Go, Leonidas!
Leonidas: (Roar)...!
With a roaring cry, Leonidas charged in with his fists still on fire. Saurus launched a punch while Leonidas countered with. Both fists collided as it made a huge shockwave. But Leonidas won the battle of strength as he pushed Saurus back, before delivering a flaming uppercut that sent Saurus flying before turning back into ball form.
Tigrerra: Saurus!
Tigrerra launched herself at Leonidas. But the Dragon Bakugan stepped aside and grabbed her waist, before flying into the air while still holding her.
Runo: Tigrerra!
Once high in the air Leonidas let go of Tigrerra but then grabbed her arms instead. He spun around for a few moments before tossing Tigrerra down hard. She crashed hard on the ground and turned quickly into ball form. Runo dropped on her knees as she picked Tigrerra.
-Battlefield, BBT Stadium, Wardington, Earth-
Everybody returned back to the Real World, as the audience cheered at Jay's victory. Dan was also there as he watched Jay speaking with Leonidas.
Jay: You did it, Leonidas! You've managed to defeat two Bakugan at once!
Leonidas: Did you doubt me?!
Jay: Nope! I knew that you would win!
Leonidas was a little surprised at that before turning away from him.
The audience cheered at Jay and Leonidas' victory. Dan was seen there standing as well as he watched Jay defeat Runo with a smile. Meanwhile, Runo checked on Tigrerra with worry.
Runo: Are you alright, Tigrerra?
Her response was a groan as the Bakugan opened up and Tigrerra looked at her worried partner.
Tigrerra: I'm alright, Runo… I'm just sore from the hit Leonidas did on me.
Runo looked up ahead and she saw Leonidas with a happy Jay. She frowned as she started to dislike the angry Bakugan.

Aya: Next time on Bakugan Battle Brawlers L. Kyubis vanished and so did Dan and Jay's Drago and Leonidas. We'd better find them quickly because my turn to compete is coming and I want to show everyone what Kyubis and I can do. I promise you it will be quite a show!
