Today was the second day at the BBT Stadium as Jay was at the outside, having already registered himself and was now waiting while looking at his Bakupod. Leonidas was now becoming impatient.
Leonidas: Seriously, how long do we have to wait!?
Jay: I told you, Leonidas, the next tournament is a Tag Team. I have to wait for them to tell me who my partner is. Dan said that they are chosen at random.
Leonidas huffed on his shoulder and turned around.
Leonidas: I don't need to team up with anyone. I can beat those Bakugan all by myself.
Jay: But aren't you and I teaming up?
Leonidas: Only because I have no choice!
Jay only sighed with an amused smile at Leonidas. Just then, he received a message from his Bakupod.
Jay: Finally! Now let's see who I'll be partnering with!
He pressed on the screen and now it's showing Jay's partner.
Jay: And it's… Wha?!
Jay couldn't believe it as on his screen… was Dan Kuso!
Jay: Dan!?
Episode 7: Brawling with the Idols
-Break Room, BBT Stadium, Wardington, Earth-
At the Break Room, Jay met with Dan and were talking about this surprising team up.
Jay: You sure got me there, Dan. I expected to team up with Aria or Sam, but I was really surprised that you wanted to partner up with me.
Dan: Yeah, sorry about that. After seeing how you and Leonidas fight, I asked Aria and Sam to let me be partners with you, and they agreed!
Dan remembered yesterday before they left he asked Aria and Sam to let him partner with Jay.
Jay then turned to the computer screen on his seat and saw that Aria and Sam were teaming up.
Jay: And it looks like Aria and Sam are teaming up. Can't wait to battle them.
Dan agreed as he too was interested in fighting them after seeing how strong they are.
Dan: So, you ready?
Jay: A little nervous… Runo and Marucho are entering the tournament.
He remembered the talk they had about Leonidas. Dan immediately noticed what's worrying him.
Dan: Don't worry about what those guys said. If you make it to the UBT, they'll forget all about it.
Jay looked down as he hoped so, until he recalled the other thing Dan said.
Jay: The UBT?
Dan: "Ultimate Battle Tournament". It's an international tournament where all the top ranked Bakugan players compete! If we're gonna play, we might as well aim to be the best! But to enter the UBT, you're gonna have to win matches and build a name for yourself.
Jay liked the sound of that as he stood up and faced Dan.
Jay: Best in the world, huh? I'm in!
Jay: Come on, Dan! Let's do this!
Both Jay and Dan grasped hands, ready to take on the Tag Team Tournament and win this.
-Battlefield, BBT Stadium, Wardington, Earth-
At the Battlefield, standing from his seat was Commentator Osamu.
Osamu: Commentator Osamu here, and things are getting exciting here at the Tag Team Tournament! Our competitors have clashed against each competing team and have now reached the semi-finals!
The screen showed the previous battles, with Dan and Jay easily beating their opponents with a double fire attack from both Drago and Leo.
Runo and Marucho won as well as Tigrerra and Darkus Preyas beat their opponents.
Aria and Sam won too as Swiftor let out a victory shriek while Kyubis stood gracefully and elegantly.
Osamu: Now, for the first round of the semifinal, we have Dan Kuso and Jay Brand!
Dan and Jay already stood on the field, ready to take on their next opponents.
Osamu: And their opponents are none other than our favorite idols, Jenny and Jewls!
The cheers of the crowd cried even louder as the 2 girls, who are the same age as Aya, entered the field.
Jenny: Hey there, everyone!
Jewls: Happy to see us?
Both girls gave a cute wink as the crowd cheered once again.
Jay: Jenny and Jewls, Aria sometimes hangs out with them.
Jewls: Hey Dan, good to see you again!
She flashed a wink at Dan, which of course made him blush and hold his beating heart.
Dan: Yeah… Good to see you too.
Jay was surprised that Dan knew the 2 idols.
Jay: You've met them before, Dan?
Dan: Yeah, but unfortunately they were working for Masquerade until Marucho and I defeated them.
Before Jay could ask for more, Jenny called out to them.
Jenny: Hey, so are we gonna Brawl or what?
Dan: Of course we are!
All four of them then grabbed their Gate Cards and shouted.
Jenny, Jewls, Dan, and Jay: Field, open!
The whole stadium then glowed along with the cards as everyone was transported, where a surprise was waiting for them.
-Battle Dimension-
When they arrived, Dan and Jay couldn't believe what they were seeing.
Jay: What the…
Dan: No way!
Instead of a white floored land, the Brawlers and the audience were in a ruined coliseum, where water flows down into the middle, where the arena is currently standing.
Jay: What is with this place!?
Dan: Could this be the big surprise Marucho was talking about?
Osamu: That's right! Here the Bakugan must fight here and use the terrain to their advantage! Not to mention Aquos Bakugan will get a little boost in power!
Jay: That will make things a little challenging…
The two idols then took out their Bakugan as they were very eager to start brawling.
Jewls: Ready, boys?
Both Dan Jay took they're Bakugan as well.
Dan: You bet we are!
They all threw their Gate Cards.
Everyone: Gate card, set!
The cards they threw enlarged on the field. Dan and Jay are red, while Jewls is orange and Jenny is blue.
Jewls: I'll go first, girlfriend! Bakugan, brawl!
She threw her Bakugan on her Gate card, and then flashed a wink at Dan.
Jewls: Perfect as always.
Dan blushed and held his heart. The two idols always make him have a funny feeling in his heart.
Jewls: Bakugan, stand!
The Bakugan glowed, and rising on the field was Saurus.

Dan: Careful! These 2 do well in a combination battle, so we better do so as well!
Jay: Got it! Bakugan, brawl!
Jay threw his Bakugan at his Gate card.
Jay: Laserman, stand!
The robotic Bakugan with cannons rose up on the field.

Jewls: So, afraid to fight a girl, huh?
Jay: Not quite! Ability card, activate! Leap Sting! Now Laserman can attack from anywhere in the battlefield and your Bakugan loses 50Gs!
Saurus then started losing power.
Subterra Saurus(380-50=330Gs)
Jewls: No way!
Jewls was shocked as Laserman prepare to firehis cannons at Saurus, only to see Jewls suddenly smirk.
Jewls: Gate card, open! Gate Close!
The Command Card activated and both Saurus and Laserman returned to the hand.
Jewls: With this nifty Gate card, all Bakugan return to their owners!
Jenny: We aren't to you guys suprise us gurls so easily! bakugan, brawl!
She threw her Bakugan on her Gate card.
Jenny: Bakugan, stand! Aquos Serpenoid!,
Rising on the field was a blue hissing Serpenoid.
Aquos Serpenoid(320Gs)
Dan: I better be careful. Bakugan, Brawl!
Dan threw his Bakugan at his own Gate card.
Dan: Bakugan, stand! Pyrus Mantris!
The Mantis Bakugan hissed as he appeared on the field.
Pyrus Mantris(280Gs)
Dan: Ability card, activate! Marionette!
Mantris' eyes glowed red as red electricity sparked around his scythes.
Dan: Now Mantris, bring Serpenoid closer to you!
Mantris launched his electric attack and wrapped around Serpenoid, lifting the Snake and bringing the Bakugan to Dan's field.
Dan: Gate card, open! Now Mantris' power is doubled!
The Gate card revealed to be Mantris' Character card as the Bakugan screeched with his power increasing a lot.
Mantris: (Schreech)!
Pyrus Mantris(280x2=560Gs)
Mantris was about to attack Serpenoid, but that seems what Jewls was counting on.
Jewls: Counter Ability card, activate!
Dan: Huh?!
Dan couldn't believe they use that move as Jewls Bakugan glowed orange and went towards where Serpenoid and Mantris are. The Bakugan landed and transformed, and now Saurus appeared besides Serpenoid, and they both got an increase in power.
Subterra Saurus/Aquos Serpenoid(380+320=700+100+100=900Gs)
Dan: Oh snap!
Dan was shocked to see the power level is now higher than his Mantris. The Aquos Serpenoid then wrapped itself around Mantris, restraining him. This allowed Saurus to deliver a finishing punch, defeating Mantris and sending him back into his ball form and landed near Dan's feet. Saurus and Serpenoid then went back towards their owners.

Jewls: Oh yeah! Our first Counter Ability, girlfriend!
Jenny: Yeah! Our Bakugan are a duo, just like us!
Jay didn't understand what he saw.
Jay: What just happened?
Dan: They used a Counter Ability. Normally you can use the relationship between a respective Attribute to power up your Bakugan. But a Counter Ability allows you to counterattack by summoning another Bakugan and boost both their powers!
Jay now understood as he looked at the two celebrating girls.
Jay: So that's how they did it.
Dan: They used the same move Marucho and I used to defeat them!
Jay: And since we all use Pyrus Bakugan, we wouldn't be able to use a Counter Ability as well.
Leonidas watched silently as something was going through his mind.
The girls then stopped celebrating and went back to business.
Jewls: Gate card, set!
Jewls set down a new Gate card.
Jewls: Bakugan, brawl! Bakugan, stand!
Jewls next Bakugan is Subterra Griffon.
Subterra Griffon(390Gs)
Jay checked his Bakupod and knew that he had to be careful.
Jay: Alright, time to send my second heavy hitter back in, Gate card, set! Bakugan, Brawl!
Jay sends in another Gate card before launching back his Laserman.
Jay: Laserman, stand!
His robotic Bakugan appeared once more.
Pyrus Laserman(390Gs)
Jewls: He must be planning another Leap Sting attack.
Jenny: Except it wouldn't work again this time.
Drago took notice of their confident faces.
Drago: Careful everyone. They're planning something!
Jenny: Bakugan, Brawl!
Jenny sends her next Bakugan to the Gate card where her Serpenoid once stood.
Jenny: Siege, stand!
The blue Knight Bakugan and Jenny's ace appeared on the field.
Aquos Siege(400Gs)
Dan: Oh snap! Jay, we better get rid of his Siege quickly!
Jay: Huh?
Dan: The Tsunami Wave!
Dan remembers the tsunami Siege can summon, which swept away many Bakugan.
Dan: If he has three Aquos Bakugan on the field, he can defeat all our Bakugan.
Jay: Then we better get rid of that Bakugan first!
Dan: Yeah! Bakugan, brawl!
Dan threw a card at Jenny's Gate card.
Dan: Bakugan, stand!
Appearing in front of Siege was Pyrus Serpenoid.
Pyrus Serpenoid(320Gs)
Jenny: Wow. Only 300 and 20? Like that would be a match for Siege.
Siege raised his lance, ready to face the giant Serpent. However, Dan had a strategy in mind.
Dan: (Whatever card they have to boost their power, I'll use Rapid Fire since there are 2 Pyrus Bakugan on the field.)
He looked at Jay who nodded at him, as he already knew what he's planning.
Dan: Ability card, activate! Rapid Fire! Now we can add another Bakugan on the field!
One of Jay's Bakugan then glowed and flew towards where Siege and Serpenoid were and opened.
Rising in the air of the field was Jay's Falconeer.
Pyrus Serpenoid/Falconeer(320+340=680Gs)
Both Serpenoid and Falconeer were ready to fight Siege. However, what Jenny said was something they didn't expect.
Jenny: Gate card, open! Double Battle!
A barrier rose between the opposing Bakugan, stopping the two Pyrus Bakugan from attacking Siege.
Jay: What?! Double Battle?!
One of Jenny's Bakugan glowed and flew into the field where Siege is and opened.
Rising next to Siege was a blue Sphinx Bakugan.
Aquos Siege/Manion(400+350=750Gs)
Jay: That wouldn't beat us! Ability card, activate! Frame Fire!
Jay threw the now flaming Ability card at Falconeer and was wrapped around in flames, increasing his power.
Pyrus Serpenoid/Falconeer(680+100=780Gs)
However, Jenny wasn't worried as she turned to Jewls.
Jenny: Now, girl!
Jewls: Gate card, open! Attribute Hazard! Now my Saurus turns into Aquos!
The Command Card glowed and it quickly changed Saurus' color to blue.
Drago: This is bad everyone! Now there are 3 Aquos Bakugan on the field!
Dan and Jay realized this as well.
Dan: Oh snap! Now they can use the Tsunami Wave!
His fear was right as Jenny took out Siege's Ability card.
Jenny: Ability card, activate! Tsunami Wave!
With the power of the card, Siege summoned a Tsunami, which proceeded to wash away Laserman, Serpenoid, and Falconeer. Saurus and Manion ended up being caught as well, and all the Bakugan were defeated as they turned to Ball forms.

Jay: I can't believe all our Bakugan got defeated like that!
They all glared at the 2 idols who were proud of what they did, while Siege still remained on the field.
In the stands, Runo and Marucho were watching.
Runo: Well, this doesn't look good for Dan and that kid.
Marucho: Right now, Jewls and Jenny's team have 3 Bakugan, while Dan and Jay only have Drago and Leonidas.
Tigrerra: Things aren't looking too good for them.
At the other side of the stands, Sam and Aria were watching as well and they were worried for their friends' team.
Sam: Those girls just sacrificed some of their own Bakugan! That 's crazy!
Aria: (Come on, Jay. You and Dan can still win this).
Back to the match, it was Jewls turn again.
Jewls: Gate card, set!
Jewls threw in another Gate card.
Jewls: Bakugan, brawl! Griffon, stand!
The Chimera-like Bakugan with the head of a Lion, tail of a Snake, legs of a scaled Goat, and Bat-like wings, appeared on the field.

Jay turned to Leonidas, who surprisingly waited patiently.
Jay: Alright, it's all up to you Leonidas.
Leonidas: Finally. There's something that I want to try.
Jay looked curiously at Leonidas when he said that.
Jay: Really? Alright, show me what you got!
Leonidas closed his ball form and Jay grabbed him before throwing him on the field.
Jay: Bakugan, brawl!
Jay threw him at Griffon's field.
Jay: Bakugan, stand! Rise, Leonidas!
Leonidas' ball form glowed as he faced Griffon with a snarl.
Pyrus Leonidas(450Gs)
Jewls smirked at this before revealing her surprise.
Jewls: Gate card, open! Desert Trap!
The Command Card activated and Leonidas suddenly started sinking on the ground.
Leonidas: What's this?!
Jay: Leo, no!
Jewls cheered at seeing her trap work.
Jewls: Alright, it worked! The Command Card, Desert Trap, not only lowers the power of your Bakugan by 100, but also prevents them from using their abilities!
Jay: Say what?!
Leonidas' power level decreased as he sank on the floor.
Pyrus Leonidas(450-100=350Gs)
Dan: Hold up! Why isn't Griffon power decreasing?
Jewls: Only Subterra Bakugan are unaffected by it.
Jenny: You could say it's Subterra's version of Joker's Wild.
Dan grunted at this.
Leonidas: "Subterra Bakugan are unaffected" you say.
Jewls and Jenny: Huh?
Jay: Leo?
Everyone wondered what Leonidas was muttering about.
Leonidas: When my Attribute changed because of that Hazard card, an odd feeling came to me when that happened.
Leonidas remembered when he changed to Subterra because of Akira's Subterra Hazard.
Leonidas: But after seeing that Clown Bakugan changed Attribute…
He remembers Preyas turning to Subterra with his Attribute change power.
Leonidas: Now I realized what the sensation was!
Jenny: What is he talking about?
Jewls: Who cares! Griffon, finish him!
Griffon was about to pounce Leonidas, whose lower body was trapped under the floor, but then the Dragon Bakugan eyes glowed orange and a twister of sand rose from the field, repelling Griffon.
Jenny: Wha?! What's going on?!
Jay could only watch the sand twister, until Leonidas' voice was heard.
Leonidas: Attribute change…
The twister then dissipated, and shockingly revealed Leonidas' body changed color!
Instead of a dark red underside it was dark brown. And his red body was now brown instead, while the parts that were gold are light brown now.
Leonidas: Subterra!
Leonidas' sudden change shocked everyone.
Sam and Aria, were speechless at this unexpected scene.
Runo and Marucho were shocked as well.
Marucho: No way! He can change his Attribute?!
Preyas: But that's supposed to be my thing!
Jay was excited at seeing Leonidas possessing such power.
Jay: That's amazing, Leonidas! Now that you're Subterra, Desert Trap has no effect on you!
Jay was right as Leonidas' power turned back to normal.
Subterra Leonidas(350+100=450Gs)
Jewls: Agh!
Leonidas made quick work of Griffing as he punched him in the face, sending him back to ball form to Jewls.

Jewls: I can't believe he can change his Attribute!
Jenny: I can't believe we fell for it again!
The two girls were clearly upset that they fell for the same trick again.
Sam: Now each has only one Bakugan left.
Swiftor: Now their victory depends on what move they'll make.
Dan and Jay looked at each other as they seemed to know what the other was thinking.
Dan: Gate card, set!
Dan threw a Gate card in front of the one Siege was standing.
Dan: Bakugan, brawl! Drago, stand!
Drago has now appeared on Dan's Gate card.
Pyrus Dragonoid(400Gs)
Marucho: What is Dan thinking?! That is the same position as last time, where Jenny and Jewls were able to use 2 Bakugan against Drago!
Marucho clearly remembered how Siege and Centipoid were able to gang up on Drago.
Runo: Figures! Dan is obviously not using his head at all!
Jenny and Jewls also remembered this position as well, but this time they planned to add something different.
Jewls: Bakugan, brawl! Bakugan, stand!
Jewls threw her next Bakugan, and Centipoid appeared in front of Drago just like last time.
Subterra Centipoid(400Gs)
Dan: Gate card, open!
The Gate card was a Pyrus Attribute card that turned the field into a rocky inferno that increases Drago's power.
Pyrus Dragonoid(400+80=480Gs)
Jewls: Get ready for a repeat, Dan! Ability card, activate! Hooking Subterra to Aquos!
Both Siege and Centipoid glowed. The Subterra Bakugan gaining power from it.
Subterra Centipoid(400+100=500Gs)
Jewls: Ability card, activate! Atractor! Now Siege can join the winning team!
The flames moved away to allow Siege to come over and now stood besides Centipoid.
Subterra Centipoid/Aquos Siege(500+400=900Gs)
Jenny: And think this is the same as last time, Dan.
Dan was surprised to hear that as Jenny took her Ability card.
Jenny: Ability card, activate! Aquos Lance! Now Siege can change your Gate card with mine!
Siege stabbed his lance on the floor and grunted, switching Dan's Gate card with Jenny's. This move also made Drago lose his power boost.
Pyrus Dragonoid(480-80=400Gs)
Dan: That's not good!
Jenny: Wait! It gets even better! Gate card open! Character!
The Character card was Siege's and it doubled his power!
Subterra Centipoid/Aquos Siege(400x2=800+500=1300Gs)
Jay: That's a lot of power!
Jenny: Yeah! And this time you won't be able to counter it!
The girls then started jumping up in joy, saying that they were winning, but Dan then interrupted them.
Dan: Hey to break it to you girls.
Jewls and Jenny: Huh?
Dan: But you forgot one thing!
Jay: And that's Leo's ability to change Attribute!
Jewls and Jenny: WHAT?!
The two idols forgot about Leonidas' new power.
Jay: Counter Ability, activate! Go, Leo!
Leonidas' ball form glowed and he flew into the field and transformed, now standing on Drago's side.
Drago: Let's see what you can do, Leonidas.
Leonidas grunted as he started to change Attribute again.
Leonidas: Attribute change! Darkus!
Leonidas was now a Darkus Bakugan. His skin is completely black with a gray underside and purple claws and wings.
Pyrus Dragonoid/Darkus Leonidas(400+450=850+100+100=1050Gs)
Jewls and Jenny: AAAAH!
Jewls and Jenny couldn't believe this was happening again, and Jay and Dan weren't done yet.
Jay: Ability card, activate! Alpha Blaster!
Dan: Ability card, activate! Boosted Dragon!
Pyrus Dragonoid/Darkus Leonidas(1050+200+100=1350Gs)
Both Dragons fired their respective attacks at Siege and Centipoid, defeating them.

Everyone returned back to the real world, and Osamu announced the winners.
Osamu: And the winners are… Dan Kuso and Jay Brand!
Jay: Alright, we won!
Dan: Yeah!
Both Brawlers fistbumped while the audience cheered at their victory, while Runo and Marucho were a little surprised.
Runo: Dan won? No way!
Tigrerra: Dan and Drago can improve just like everybody else's. Never forget that, Runo.
Aria and Sam applauded at their friends' victory. Well, Sam was congratulating them out loud.
Sam: That was nice teamwork you guys!
Kyubis: Indeed it is. I can't wait to fight them once we move to the finals.
Aria: Me too, Kyubis. But first, we have to win the semifinal as well. Aria looked up ahead and saw Runo and Marucho, who noticed them looking at them.
These two teams are about to battle very soon.

Jay: Next time on Bakugan Battle Brawlers L. Aya and Sam finished their Semifinal match up, and now we'll have the toughest fight ever. But with the combo of both Leo and Dragon, I'm sure we can overcome any obstacle!
