A/N: The All-Valley officially begins with the girls' tournament. I've picked the winners since the start of the story, but I'm not going to reveal who wins both tournaments until it happens.
Disclaimer: I don't own the Karate Kid movies, Cobra Kai or anything else that I might reference.
Last Girl Wins
Claire was in Division 2 and Aisha was in Division 5.
The male students from Cobra Kai and the other dojos were standing around watching as the girls' tournament started.
Sensei and the Senseis from the other dojos were also watching.
"Claire Brown to Mat 3, please." A voice announces over the intercom.
Everybody watches as Claire takes a step onto the mat.
The referee looks at Claire and her opponent. "The next match is between Claire Brown from Cobra Kai Karate and Tara Greene from Crunch Karate."
Claire and Tara bow before getting into a fighting stance.
"Ready! Fight!" The referee exclaims.
Claire leaps into action.
She aims kicks at her opponent.
Most of the kicks are blocked, but Claire hits her opponent with a hook kick to her left side.
"Point! Brown! 1 – 0!" The referee raises his hand.
Claire and Tara get back on their lines.
The referee signals for the fight to resume.
This time, Tara goes on the offensive.
Claire dodges punches and kicks.
She manages to sweep Tara's leg and lands an elbow to her stomach.
The referee waits for Tara to get back up and for them to get back on their lines. "The score is Brown 2, Greene 0!"
Claire delivers a front kick that lands before her opponent can block it.
"Point! Winner!" The referee exclaims as he raises Claire's arm.
The audience applauds, even though there are multiple matches going on at the same time.
Everybody in Cobra Kai claps and cheers as Claire shakes Tara's hand.
Meanwhile, Aisha wins her first match.
Sensei smiles and gives a thumbs up as a reaction to Claire and Aisha's respective first victories in the All-Valley.
Claire's next match finishes 3 – 1 against a student from Locust Valley Karate.
Aisha practically steamrolls her opponent in her second match.
Claire's final match before she will possibly make the quarterfinals is against a student from Topanga Karate.
This match is a lot closer and finishes 3 – 2.
The referee raises Claire's hand. "Point! Winner!"
"Claire Brown makes the quarterfinals!" Darryl announces.
Aisha makes the quarterfinals as well, beating her third opponent 3 – 1.
Darryl is quick to announce the win. "Aisha Robinson makes the quarterfinals!"
There is a pause before Darryl makes another announcement.
Everybody can see a tarp covering up a board.
"Alright! That brings us to the quarterfinals of the girls' tournament! These 8 fighters are the last remaining competitors in their divisions and they have fought long and hard to get here! Time to get ready for the quarterfinal matches of the girls' tournament!" Darryl exclaims.
He gestures to the board as people remove the tarp.
Claire and Aisha both see their next opponents.
They're relieved to find out that they're not going to be fighting each other yet.
The board reads;
Brown VS Zavala
Chang VS Hughes
McKenzie VS Gibbs
Robinson VS Morley
Claire looks over at Aisha. "At least we're not fighting each other. Not yet, anyway."
"Yeah. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to the possibility of us fighting each other. Even though we're friends." Aisha replies.
Claire smiles. "For sure. And we'll leave it all on the mat if we do end up fighting each other."
"Hell yes." Aisha says.
They give each other a hug before they head into the locker room for a break.
There would only be about five to ten minutes before the quarterfinals started.
Which meant that they had time to take a short break.
….
Claire and her opponent walk onto the mat.
"Here we go! Claire Brown from Cobra Kai Karate will fight against Isabel Zavala from Allstar Karate!" Darryl announces the first match of the quarterfinals.
The referee waits until Darryl's announcement is over before calling out instructions. "Face me, bow! Face each other, bow! Ready, fight!"
Claire and Isabel bow to the referee before bowing to each other.
They get into a fighting stance and start to circle around each other.
Claire bounces on her feet as she looks for an opening.
She tries a kick, but it's blocked.
Claire blocks a kick before counterattacking.
They trade kicks back and forth.
Neither of them was willing to let up.
Claire decides to switch things up a little bit.
She dodges a kick from Isabel and counters with a punch that gets blocked pretty quickly.
Claire dodges a kick and a punch.
She eventually breaks through her opponent's defence and lands a punch to her stomach.
"Point! The score is 1 – 0!" The referee exclaims.
Claire and Isabel get back into a fighting stance after they get back on their lines.
They circle around each other.
This time, Isabel makes the first move.
She manages to catch Claire off guard and lands a punch to the gut.
The referee quickly makes the call. "Point! The score is 1 – 1!"
"Come on, Claire! You can do it!" Jason shouts.
The other Cobras are shouting encouragement.
The next round ends with Claire sweeping Isabel's legs and landing a kick to her stomach.
There is a brief pause before the referee calls the point. "Point! The score is 2 – 1!"
Claire and Isabel get back on their lines.
There is a pause before the match resumes.
This time, Isabel is the one who goes on the offensive.
Claire gets driven back as Isabel lands a hook kick.
"Point! 2 – 2!" The referee shouts.
Claire and Isabel get ready for the last round.
They charge in as soon as the referee gives the signal.
Claire and Isabel exchange punches and kicks.
Neither of them wants to make a mistake and give the other person the win.
They attack and block until Isabel darts in to try and attack Claire.
Only for Claire to sweep Isabel's legs and bring her down before punching her in the chest.
Claire and Isabel get back to their feet.
The referee raises Claire's hand after announcing the score. "Point! Winner!"
"Both of these young women gave it everything they had! Let's hear it for the both of them!" Darryl yells.
Claire and Isabel shake hands before bowing to each other.
There's a brief pause before Claire walks back to Sensei and the other Cobras.
Sensei is the first to congratulate her. "Good work out there!"
Everybody gives her high fives and pats on the back.
Jason gives Claire a hug and a kiss on the forehead.
Claire walks over to the locker room to get water.
"Claire Brown is our first semi-finalist!" Darryl announces to the audience.
There was a brief pause before the next quarterfinal match started.
Everybody was watching to see who would win.
….
The winners of the next two quarterfinal matches were Wendy Chang and Natalie Gibbs.
The last quarterfinal of the girls' tournament was going to be between Aisha and her opponent, Shauna Morley.
Shauna was slightly shorter than Aisha and was definitely lighter than her. She also had red hair that was tied back into a ponytail and green eyes.
Aisha and Shauna both take their places on the mat.
"The last match in the quarterfinals is going to be between Aisha Robinson from Cobra Kai Karate against Shauna Morley of Xtreme Martial Arts! Anything can happen! And, any of these two competitors could make their way to the semifinals!" Darryl exclaims.
The audience cheers.
The referee issues instructions. "Face me, bow. Face each other, bow."
Aisha and Shauna bow to the referee before they face each other and bow.
They get into fighting stances.
Sensei and the head Sensei from Xtreme Martial Arts are both watching the fight.
The referee signals for the fight to begin.
Shauna is quick to go on the offensive.
Aisha blocks punches and kicks before counterattacking.
"Come on! Use your size to your advantage! You can do it!" Sensei barks out encouragement.
Aisha dodges a roundhouse kick from Shauna and manages to close the distance between the two of them.
She goes to sweep Shauna's leg, but the other teenager notices the move.
Aisha dodges another kick and lands a punch to her opponent's solar plexus.
The referee quickly stops the round. "Point! 1 – 0!"
Aisha watches as Shauna gets back to her feet.
They get back on their lines before the referee gives a signal for the match to continue.
This time, it's Aisha who goes on the offensive.
She manages to cause Shauna to move back as a way of trying to put distance between them.
Aisha closes the distance and lands a front kick on Shauna.
"Point! 2 – 0!" The referee calls the point.
Aisha and Shauna go back to their lines.
Darryl is quick to announce the next round. "Aisha Robinson could be just one point away from getting into the semifinals! I don't think anyone has found an answer for her size and power yet!"
Aisha and Shauna get ready for the next round.
The referee gives the signal.
Shauna circles around Aisha looking for an opening.
Aisha blocks every attempted attack from Shauna and hits her with a punch to the stomach.
"Point! Winner!" The referee exclaims.
Aisha and Shauna bow to each other before walking over to their respective Senseis.
Sensei looks at Aisha with pride. "Good work!"
"Aisha Robinson is our last semi-finalist! Which means that the semifinals are set!" Darryl announces.
Claire would be facing Wendy Chang in the first semifinal and Aisha would be facing Natalie Gibbs in the second semifinal.
The four competitors stand on the mat accompanied by their respective Senseis.
Claire and Aisha stand on either side of Sensei, who looks incredibly proud of both of them.
Wendy and Natalie are standing close to their respective Senseis.
"Alright! Let's give it up for all our competitors in the girls' tournament! I think you're all winners! Unfortunately, there can only be one winner! And she's standing on this stage right now!" Darryl announces.
The audience and the male competitors all applaud.
Darryl continues. "Will it be Claire Brown from Cobra Kai Karate?"
Claire bows while the audience applauds, including Bobby and Violet.
"Will it be Aisha Robinson, also from Cobra Kai Karate?" Darryl asks.
Aisha bows while the audience cheers, including her parents.
Darryl moves on to the next competitor. "Will it be Wendy Chang from Locust Valley Karate Club?"
Wendy bows as the audience cheers.
"Or will it be Natalie Gibbs from North Hills Karate?" Darryl finishes introducing the semi-finalists.
Natalie bows as the audience applauds.
Darryl quickly moves on. "The first semifinal will be between Brown and Chang! Let's go!"
Aisha, Natalie and the head Sensei of North Hills Karate all walk off the mat.
Sensei and the head Sensei of Locust Valley Karate Club stay on the mat, but they stand some distance away from the combatants.
Claire and Wendy both get on their lines.
Everybody is eagerly anticipating the semifinals.
….
Claire and Wendy wait for the referee's instructions.
"Face me, bow! Face each other, bow!" The referee exclaims.
Claire and Wendy bow to the referee before they bow to each other.
The referee calls for the fight to begin. "Ready, and fight!"
Claire and Wendy circle around each other looking for an opening.
"Remember your training! Strike first! I know you can do it!" Sensei exclaims.
Claire nods.
She decides to go on the offensive.
Claire aims kicks at her opponent who either blocks or dodges them.
Until she lands a spinning kick to the face.
The referee calls a halt to the round. "Point! 1 – 0!"
Claire watches as Wendy gets back to her feet.
They get back into a fighting stance.
Wendy was obviously rattled by the kick, so she got into more of a defensive stance.
Claire quickly goes back on the offensive.
She's not able to land another kick to Wendy's face because Wendy has her guard up.
However, Claire is able to get through Wendy's attempts at blocking her punches and kicks with a strike to her chest.
"Point! 2 – 0!" The referee exclaims.
Claire and Wendy get back on to their lines before getting into a fighting stance.
They reengage in combat.
This time, Wendy decides to go on the offensive.
She tries to push Claire back or goad her into making a mistake.
Unfortunately, Claire sees through it and sweeps her leg before landing a punch to the gut.
The referee calls an end to the match. "Point! 3 – 1! Winner!"
Claire and Wendy bow to each other after they get back to their feet.
"Claire Brown advances to the finals of the girls' tournament!" Darryl exclaims.
Sensei looks happy with that result. "Good job, Claire. I knew you could do it!"
"Thanks, Sensei." Claire says.
She walks back to where the other Cobra Kai students are standing.
"Alright! The second semifinal is between Aisha Robinson and Natalie Gibbs!" Darryl announces.
Aisha and Natalie step on to the mat.
The referee issues instructions. "Face me, bow. Face each other, bow."
Aisha and Natalie bow to the referee before bowing to each other.
They both get into a fighting stance.
Aisha hears the Sensei of North Hills Karate shouting out instructions to Natalie.
She can also hear Sensei giving her instructions and encouragement.
Aisha is the first one to move.
She moves quickly in order to catch Natalie off guard.
Aisha manages to land a hit on Natalie.
"Point! 1 – 0!" The referee calls a halt to the round.
Aisha and Natalie get back on their lines.
The Sensei of North Hills Karate has lapsed into a momentary silence.
Sensei, on the other hand, is still fairly loud. "Come on, Aisha! You can do this!"
Natalie tries to kick Aisha, but Aisha uses her hands to block her kicks.
Aisha grabs Natalie's leg and uses it to close the distance between them.
She lets go of Natalie's leg and hits her with a left hook to the ribs.
Natalie almost falls to the mat.
"Point! 2 – 0!" The referee exclaims.
Aisha and Natalie both get back on their lines.
The referee calls for the match to resume. "Ready! Fight!"
Aisha goes on the offensive.
She manages to push Natalie back until she's almost off the mat.
However, Natalie regroups and lands a kick on Aisha.
"Point! 2 – 1!" The referee calls a stop to the round.
Aisha and Natalie get back on their lines.
The referee calls for the fight to resume. "Ready, and fight!"
Aisha and Natalie circle around each other looking for an opening.
Natalie darts forward and tries to land a kick on Aisha, only for Aisha to sweep her leg and land a kick on her as she falls.
"Point! 3 – 1! Winner!" The referee exclaims.
Aisha steps back and lets Natalie get back to her feet.
They bow to each other before Natalie walks off the mat.
Darryl quickly announces the result of the match. "Aisha Robinson is headed to the finals! The final match will begin after a short break."
Claire and Aisha head over to the lockers to get a drink of water.
If Sensei is worried about two Cobra Kai students being in the finals of the girls' tournament, he doesn't show it.
Even if he wasn't expecting Claire and Aisha to be in the finals given that it was their first tournament.
The break gives the spectators a chance to get refreshments or stretch their legs.
Which is definitely a good thing.
….
The break ends and the audience return to their seats.
Claire walks on to the mat and Aisha follows closely behind her.
They stand on opposite sides of the mat.
"This is the final match of the girls' tournament! And it's where the champion will be decided! Will it be Claire Brown from Cobra Kai Karate?" Darryl begins.
Darryl continues. "Or will it be Aisha Robinson, also from Cobra Kai Karate?"
"Whoever wins this match will make history as the first female All-Valley champion! So, this match is definitely worth watching!" Darryl finishes announcing the match.
The referee looks at Claire and Aisha. "Face me and bow, then face each other and bow."
Claire and Aisha bow to the referee before bowing to each other.
"Ready, fight!" The referee exclaims.
Claire and Aisha had sparred against each other numerous times, or watched each other spar against the male Cobra Kai students.
Which meant that they knew how the other person fought.
But they also knew that a tournament was different to a sparring match.
Claire makes the first move.
She tries to aim a kick at Aisha, only for Aisha to block it.
Aisha attempts to land a punch on Claire but the punch is blocked.
They throw punches and kicks at each other in the middle of the mat.
Claire takes a step back and tries to kick Aisha in the chest, only for Aisha to block it.
Aisha closes the distance between them and throws a punch that Claire manages to dodge.
They circle around each other looking for an opening.
Claire does a roundhouse kick, but Aisha manages to get out of the way.
Aisha charges in and throws a punch that Claire blocks.
They trade punches in the middle of the mat.
Until Aisha tries a spinning backfist that hits Claire in the chest.
The referee calls a halt to the round. "Point! 1 – 0!"
Claire and Aisha get back on their lines.
"Ready! Fight!" The referee exclaims.
Aisha immediately goes on the offensive.
She throws a flurry of punches that Claire either blocks or dodges.
Claire takes advantage of the opening and lands a kick to Aisha's stomach.
The referee calls a halt to the round. "Point! 1 – 1!"
Claire and Aisha get back on their lines.
"Ready, fight!" The referee calls out.
The other Cobra Kai students were either supporting Claire or they were supporting Aisha.
Sensei was observing the match and wasn't coaching either competitor.
Claire and Aisha both dart in and start throwing punches and kicks.
They block each punch and kick, or dodge them.
Neither of them wants to give up any ground or concede a point.
Aisha is starting to push Claire back.
Or, more accurately, Claire is trying to lull Aisha into a false sense of security before she makes a move.
Aisha notices and takes a step back.
Claire takes a few steps forward and tries to land a hit on Aisha.
Aisha blocks Claire's strike and lands one of her own.
The referee awards Aisha the point. "Point! 2 – 1!"
Claire and Aisha return to their lines.
"Ready, fight!" The referee calls for the match to resume.
Claire is the one who goes on the offensive this time.
Aisha alternates between blocking and counterattacking.
Claire moves out of Aisha's range in attempt to bait her into coming closer.
Aisha doesn't come any closer.
Claire moves back into Aisha's range and tries to land a hook kick on Aisha.
Aisha grabs Claire's leg and tries to land a punch on her, only for the attack to be blocked.
Claire gets her leg out of Aisha's grasp and lands a dropkick on her.
The dropkick knocks Aisha over.
The referee calls a halt to the fight. "Point! 2 – 2!"
"Both of these young women have given it everything, but it's still too close to call! Either of them could win!" Darryl announces.
Claire and Aisha get ready for the final round.
The referee gives the signal. "Ready, fight!"
They circle around each other.
Neither one of them wants to make the mistake that would cost them the match.
However, they both know that there is only one way to win.
They charge in pretty quickly.
Claire and Aisha trade punches and kicks in the centre of the mat.
Aisha blocks a side kick with her elbow while Claire blocks a front kick.
Claire blocking the front kick gives Aisha the opening to sweep Claire's legs.
Aisha drops down and drives an elbow onto Claire's chest.
"Point! 3 – 2! Winner!" The referee exclaims.
Claire and Aisha get back to their feet.
The audience applauds and cheers.
Darryl is also applauding. "What a display of skill from both of these young women!"
"Good job. And congratulations on the win." Claire says.
Aisha nods. "Thanks."
Everybody in Cobra Kai rushes to congratulate Aisha, along with Claire.
Sensei also congratulates Aisha on her win.
Darryl hands Aisha the first-place trophy before handing Claire the runner's up trophy.
"So, is there anything that you would like to say?" Darryl asks.
Aisha nods. "I'd like to thank my Sensei. This win is for Sensei Johnny Lawrence and Cobra Kai!"
"Alright! Let's hear it for the first of our champions! Congratulations to Aisha Robinson and Cobra Kai!" Darryl exclaims.
Aisha lifts up the trophy as the Cobra Kai students crowd around her.
Claire follows Aisha off the mat.
The female competitors walk over to the lockers.
There was going to be a short break before the boys' tournament started.
The boys already knew what divisions they were going to be in, so they didn't have to wait or go looking for that information.
