Sanura's POV
~The Professor's Home~
Dinner would be served soon. I had just finished helping the Pevensie girls find suitable clothing. Now it is time to get ready myself, oh well, at least that was a one-time thing. Susan was much worse than Lucy, but I can understand that she has a certain taste in clothes. However, she could have at least tried to find something before snubbing her nose at the clothes.
I roll my eyes and shake my head a bit to try to clear my head. I start looking through my clothes to find something suitable for tonight's dinner.
"Do I go fancier or less?" I ask myself. Finally, I settle on a beautiful purple gown. Quite simple in design really, but no less beautiful. It had a modest neckline and an a-line skirt that had little embroidered flowers trailing up it. For my hair, I chose to do a half up style with the loose hair being in waves from where I had it braided for the majority of the day. I finally add the circlet that my grandfather had given me a few years ago.
"Sister, are you not going to wear makeup tonight?" Lillian asked me.
"No, there is no need to. After all it would just be for dinner, and there are no guests outside those who are going to be staying here."
There were nods from the others in the room. "We may get a disapproving look from Mrs. Macready, but at this point we have had a long day as is there is no need to make it longer."
~Dining Room~
Entering the dining room, I look around and notice that Mrs. Macready has pulled the nice china out. I guess that does make sense as we have only just arrived this afternoon and Grandfather has yet to meet everyone.
"Your grandfather wishes to speak with you after supper, Sanura." Mrs. Macready tells me as she approaches.
Answering her, "Of course madam, thank you for letting me know."
Her answer to this was a mere nod. "I expect that you have already made yourself at home." She raises a single eyebrow.
"We have. James and I helped our guests to find suitable clothing from that which was upstairs I do hope that was all right?" I half ask, half state.
"Of course, Ms. Longsworth." Mrs. Macready suddenly uses my formal address rather than using my first name as she usually does.
Which means that if I look behind me, I will find at least one if not more of our guests. Instead of doing so however, I look to the clock in the corner of the room seeing that it is five till six o'clock.
"Right, and how have you set up the seating for tonight's meal, Mrs. Macready?" I ask loudly so that the others in the room can hear and pay attention as I will not be handing out seating assignments tonight nor having our housekeeper repeat herself.
"You will be to the Professor's right, the elder Mr. Pevensie will be to your right. Ms. Lillian will be across from Ms. Longsworth, with Mr. Jonesworth to your left. Ms. Evan's will be to the right of Mr. Pevensie, with Mr. Malfoy to your right. Ms. Hermione will be to the left of Mr. Jonesworth, with the younger Mr. Pevensie to her left. The elder Ms. Pevensie will be to the right of Mr. Malfoy with Mr. Potter to her right, and to the left of the younger Mr. Pevensie will be the younger Ms. Pevensie, with Mr. Longbottom to her left. I will be across from the professor." Mrs. Macready states with a tone of finality, and we move to follow her directions as we wait for Grandfather.
Just as the clock strikes six o'clock, Grandfather enters the dining room wearing one of his better-looking suits. And bids everyone welcome as he sits and as the Lady of the Manor, I quickly introduce everyone to Grandfather, concerning my friends it is a matter of adding 'I am sure you remember…' before introducing the rest of our guests.
"Well now that the introductions are in order, let us take our evening meal." Grandfather states without much fanfare, which is his normal when in such a large group.
