"This looks like the place. What now, guys?"
Momo had the folder with the documents that pointed to this exact address and even had a photo of the building. Most of the other information was just activity reports and miscellaneous information. Nakamura was going to show Mitsuki the information to give the woman proof that her boy isn't being tortured or harmed. These places had no indication of being organ banks or being equipped with an interrogation space. Activity reports also told of this building being less active and would likely not have her son in it. Seeing this would have helped the mother at least get a better understanding of the situation.
That gripping feeling in her chest returned as the memory of Haru shoving the papers at them and walking away was still weighing the girl down with guilt. A hand on her shoulder turned her to Izuku and reaffirmed the poor girl's wavering heart. His presence was a very welcome one in this precarious situation. There wasn't any time to lose as they needed to find a way in.
Rounding the building didn't reveal anything like a hole in the wall or an unlocked gate. Momo got some attention from a few drunks passing by and got Izuku to shoo them away. Her affections for him were well placed. Thinking about how it was that Mina was giving him the cold shoulder did make quite a bit of sense, it also made her sympathize for the heartbroken Midoriya.
She contacted the girl and Mina started to cry on the phone with how she's seen him so badly battered in the past far too many times to count. Every time he goes out of his way to save someone, she's the one who's left out in the cold while she watches Izuku keep abusing himself for other people. It was noble and it was a part of him that she did love, though seeing some of the things he does and how it wasn't even necessary at certain points was just torture.
From her side, she felt ignored. Izuku being so blinded by his need to be a hero and yelling at her for being selfish was the last straw. He took things too far and ignored the fact that she had been the one crying at his bedside in the past while he was recovering. Momo wanted to help the boy through this, but he truly needed to work this out between himself and Mina. It wasn't that Mina wanted Izuku to stop being a hero; she just wanted him to stop trying to kill himself when there were other ways available to save people that didn't require him to be a suicidal maniac.
Behind the building was an alley so narrow that they all had to go in sideways to reach a window just low enough to look into. One comment by Momo about how she was almost stuck made Kirishima blush at the image going on right behind him. They reached the window and now needed a way to look inside.
"Give me a second. I can make a pair of nigh-"
"Wait up! I have one right here."
A pair of night vision goggles he got online had been tucked into an inner jacket pocket of his new designer outerwear. He wasn't sure that Momo would have said yes to the request, so he went out of his way to spend his own money on a pair. This was just his way of helping out the group for how he did nothing for them during the summer camp. Izuku could tell that it was not a light price since these things cost around fifty thousand yen on average. Kirishima brushed off their concern for his personal finances and just replied that at least this was his now.
Standing on each other's shoulders still made it difficult for Izuku and Kirishima to see into the building. They pulled up on the barred wind a little to get the binoculars to pick up whatever it could see in the darkness. His shock caused him to shove the binoculars into Izuku's face to get the boy to see if he wasn't just seeing things. Midoriya would have done the same had he gone first.
Inside of the building were tanks lined up filled to the brim with some sort of liquid. They all had the same thing sticking out of the top of them. A head with a brain being exposed.
Every single tank in there was incubating a Nomu.
League of Villain's Hideout
Negotiations had basically gone to shit and Bakugou was now out of his restraints. They were keen on getting him back under control while he had a different idea. The door is the least favorable way to go and it seemed like he would have to punch a hole in the wall. He remembered what he was taught just the other night and was considering using that to blast his way through the wall. The only problem was that he still couldn't break the chunk of marble Haru had given him to practice on.
His usual attacks would be too weak against a brick wall without having to swing at it multiple times. If only he had his costume and the grenade gauntlets. Shigaraki was done being the nice host and wanted Bakugou to obey his command of returning to the chair. They all were advancing when a knock on the door made everybody there turn their heads to the exit.
"Hello? Pizza delivery!"
An explosion that caved in the brick wall to Bakugou's right came in the form of All Might breaching the enemy hideout with his fists. The distraction at the door was already distracting all of them, so it would go without saying that the villains were caught off guard. Next up was Kamui Wood to capture and restrain the villains inside. Wooden tendrils shot out in multiple directions and wrapped themselves around every criminal inside by the midsection and arms.
Dabi was just about to burn through the wooden restraints until he was knocked out cold. A familiar teacher and an old man no taller than a small child landed a solid blow on top of the scarred man's head.
"You can no longer run away, villain alliance! Because we are here!"
All Might and the heroes that went into the breach alongside him was exactly what Katsuki needed to see. The door with the distractor on the other side used his quirk to flatten himself to slip through the cracks and unlock the door for the officers following him. Following the themes of a ninja, Edge Shot was dressed as one with a bit of flair that would defeat the purposes of being inconspicuous to anyone other than him.
Endeavor was outside with ESD and police while making his complaints known. His competitive nature compelled him to be inside, though they asked him to remain with them in case anybody were to attempt escape. From behind All Might and the other heroes already inside, grapple hooks were launched and allowed the first wave of ESD officers to enter the hideout to immediately begin restraining the villains.
"Th-that press conference! It was all a lie!"
Compress would have won a medal for being such a captain for the obvious. Information and it's uses can be beneficial in both an accurate and incorrect format. There already was a raid being organized that ended up being pushed up by the ESD for their rescue operation. Dabi was restrained and was now being lifted and carried out of the building. All Might reassured the kidnapped boy and told him everything was going to be fine. Of course, Bakugou acted more offended than thankful. He wouldn't tell his role model that he was indeed scared.
Shigaraki didn't take kindly to seeing his fellow villains being apprehended in such a manner as he was trapped by the wooden tentacle holding him. Escape was well out of reach from the villains in the hero's perspective. Even as Tomura was shouting for something to appear out of thin air, nothing came out and left everyone a little underwhelmed. None of the Nomu that the league had created were showing up.
Kurogiri said that the Nomu aren't at the portal he created for them. All Might disclosed that their second facility was already compromised and apprehended by the second team.
Elsewhere
Mountain Lady had a truck on her foot to use as a metal boot to ax kick the building the ESD and police were raiding. It still annoyed how diligent the ESD were to check her damage cost so often. Before she could use the truck, an officer took down information like the plates and vin number to later process for compensations to the owner. They had also put in a requisition order for her to fill out later to reissue a costume that would prevent her needing to use civilian property as her personal bludgeons. Ever since her debut, her time as a hero was mostly a nonstop bureaucratic nightmare with the ESD and their paperwork.
Izuku and the group could feel the air pressure from the attack sweep up everything that wasn't nailed down or heavy enough. All the Nomu were swiftly apprehended and bundled up by the heroes to give the ESD and their specialized transport for the large creatures.
League of Villain's Hideout
"It's over, Shigaraki! You have lost."
Kurogiri had been knocked unconscious by Edge Shot and prevented the villain's escape. It was all coming down on Tomura as the memories of his childhood came flooding back. The abuse of his father due to his grandmother. Feeling the agony of making his family disappear without intending to do so. His bloodlust as he saw his father fear him before he willingly took the man's life.
He wandered for days without anybody helping him. The pain of hunger and his feet being bare for days still felt so real years later. When he thought nobody would help him, he came along. Had he been hit by that van that almost struck him, he would have never met the man who immediately sought to his needs. Time was lost on him at that age for keeping track of how long he was with the kind man.
Though his physical ailments were mostly healed, the mental ones remained. That sort of pain needed time and care, something he would have gotten had he not made that decision to leave. Hatred of the people who ignored him for days grew and festered inside the boy. They just dismissed him and said that a hero would take care of him for all that time and he suffered for it. It wasn't even a hero who helped him. A man with a food truck giving him a second chance was all the more reason he felt justified to hate heroes.
That day he met his current master was when the nice man asked him to stay next to an alley to take care of something. He wasn't gone for even a minute before he was spoken to by the man offering him an opportunity to fix society. To get rid of the heroes that made his life a living hell. He accepted and was walking with him through a black portal when he heard the nice man scream for him to not go with the master. Out of all his decisions, that one was the only one he's questioned so far.
None of this was fair. He spouted hatred and bile at the heroes to leave him alone. It was still too early for the league to be stopped here. There was still the mission to correct the mistakes of the world. Most of all, he wanted to see that man one more time and maybe share a meal like back then. To him, these heroes were going to take all of that away from him.
"I HATE YOU!"
The air itself began to gush a foul smelling black liquid while several Nomu began to pop out of said fluid. A sort of reverse effect was happening with the villains as they all were now spewing that same liquid and began to be enveloped in its contents. Bakugou looked on helplessly as he was whisked away. All Might tried to stop their escape, but it didn't matter as even grabbing Tomura's head didn't stop him from being teleported. There was an even bigger issue at hand that made itself known in the form of several Nomu glomping All Might. They tried to sink their teeth into him as he started winding up another attack.
"Oklahoma Smash!"
His spinning in midair propelled the Nomu hanging off of him in opposite directions. Two went into space while two were buried under the floorboards of the first floor. Police were trying to fight back while the ESD did something far more precise and effective.
"Form R14!"
Immediately the officers clustered up and created smaller phalanxes to fend off the creatures. Gunfire and fire were used to easily dispatch the Nomu threat. Some of the police officers couldn't figure out why their weapons weren't blowing the Nomu apart like the ESD's weapons were. Perhaps all that money they're given really does go to bettering the ESD officer's ability to protect and serve.
"Endeavor! Are you okay?!"
All Might had coughed up more blood again. One for All was nothing but a burning pile of tinder in his body at this point. Endeavor just told him to stop acting so soft and allow him and the authorities to clean the streets of the Nomu. He placed his trust in the number two hero and took off for the second location immediately.
Earlier
Nakamura felt he may have been too harsh with the teenagers. It truly did hurt him how they thought they could just violate the trust he had of them and just expect to be forgiven. Izuku had not only hurt him, but lost the current privilege of speaking to Mina. He only came here to speak to his number one man and ask him for a favor regarding Touya. The plans he had on that front were going to require Akihara Sato's personal supervision.
He followed the group to Asuma's clothing store and even eavesdropped on the conversation she had with the teens. Arisu always knew something more than she would let on, and calling out to Haru to come out revealed just that.
"You didn't have to do that, Ari."
She chuckled at Nakamura and just put an elegant finger on her chin as she checked him out in his current outfit.
"I beg to differ. You certainly must have it rough with those children, don't you."
This was one conversation he would let her have. Haru was brief with the woman and requested that he be given his usual equipment he had stored with the woman. There was no hesitation for her to bring the man up to her office and tint the windows black with a button on her desk.
She used her computer to activate the hidden floor locker containing a copy of Haru's usual gear. Shucking his current clothes off and putting on the gear gave Arisu an eyeful of Nakamura's rather well developed physique. She approached as Nakamura was doing an equipment check with his watch hologram giving him the 3d layout of the area he was in. Her hands reached the gas mask before Haru could even go for it and she turned him around while leaning against him and tracing her finger on his chest.
"You want to know what I think?"
"What is it?"
One hand wrapped itself behind his head as she whispered seductively into his right ear.
"I think that weakness of yours is awful for somebody like you…"
She tilted their heads together and gave Haru a deep kiss he easily reciprocated. His hands found the small of her back and hips. She pulled away and just stared into Haru's eyes while lovingly stroking his beard.
"When I look at you, I see one of the most beautiful wine glasses I have ever known. To see you fill to the brim and empty yourself out for those children over and over again wouldn't be so painful to watch if you didn't have a vessel with walls as thin as paper."
Another bit of a pause as she placed the gas mask over his face and activated the sealing procedure to cover his head with an armored shell. It truly did bring her no joy to see Haru abuse his heart like he did to help those he's become attached to.
"I don't know how many more cracks I can see happen to you before you shatter."
It was always incredible to Nakamura how elegant from her surroundings to her personality Arisu was. Only she had the right in his organization to speak to him and treat him in such a way. His modulated voice from the mask responded to her concerns for his well being.
"It wouldn't matter if I had enough cracks and breaks in me to turn myself into fine powder, Ari. My shape is unbreakable. That's all that matters."
He left the building and followed the group of teens under the cover of night. Arisu truly felt her heart break for the man who she could tell wasn't a survivor by choice. There will come a time where his beauty and shape will come apart at the seams if he continues on the path he's set for himself. Even if he hadn't aged a second since they first knew each other, the changes were remarkable to see in him over the past few years.
If only his heart wasn't so fragile. That man's worst enemy was himself and there wasn't a thing she could do to help him.
Later
The kids finally arrived at the secondary hideout with the Nomu incubators. His report they had was honestly meant for Mitsuki. He messaged her and told the single mother he would have to email her a copy for now. She humbly accepted the offer and thanked Nakamura for all his efforts.
His phone was placed back into his pocket while he was perched up on a rooftop he climbed up to. There was something that didn't feel right about this place. Like hearing a rat in the walls chewing away at the wood, something wasn't right that he couldn't see. All the Nomu were still out like a light and the kids didn't trigger any alarms. Why was there an instinct about this place? It wasn't like he hadn't been here before either.
In no time, the authorities and Heroes arrived to take the place by storm. Mountain Lady complained as usual as one of the ESD officers took down the vehicle's information before she used it as a bludgeoning tool to rip the front of the building open. They all easily dispatched the Nomu and were even beginning to load some of them into the transport made for the Nomu. The teenagers looked to be satisfied with the results as it looked to be an open and shut case.
Then it happened. That sensation he felt from earlier became fully recognizable as there was someone hidden in the building that was excited to have some fun with the intruders. A feeling he knew from being in contact with it many years ago. Time was against him as Haru called for support to try and get a message out.
"Mets-"
"Get me in contact with the lead officer for the Nomu compound, now!"
"Yes!"
A short time that felt like an eternity to Nakamura as the officer in question answered his comms.
"This is the lead offi-"
This is Nakamura! Get everybody out of the building, now! He's in there!"
There was a mad scramble between the officers as they tried to evacuate the area as quickly as possible. Inside of the building, the heroes ran into somebody and were speaking to him when the commotion outside caught their attention. What was happening outside got the stranger's attention and reacted accordingly.
"Aw, leaving so soon?"
Whatever got the officers spooked clearly had something to do with this man. Best Jeanest restrained the mysterious figure while Mountain Lady questioned his decision to be so rough with a potential civilian. He was taking no chances as he began to place the man into custody.
Haru knew it was too late, but trying was better than nothing. Like an ice cream scoop to a fresh bucket of vanilla, the entire landscape was simply erased with a powerful force wiping it all out. Buildings were crumbling and falling over as the damage had traveled about a kilometer in front of the villain.
Haru's concerns were now lying with the kids choking up below him. That sort of intense bloodlust would make anybody tense up and shiver like a rattlesnake's tail. He had enough. This man was the thorn that needed to be snipped. Haru decided to take center stage as he dropped to the ground from the rooftop of the building that overlooked the damage.
Below
Nobody could inhale or exhale with the terrifying presence behind them all. The pure sadistic nature he held in that blackened soul was rendering the teenagers motionless. How was it that one person could make them feel so helpless?
Situational development occurred after All for One told Best Jeanest that his quirk was undesirable for Shigaraki. These black bubbles of liquid began to spew some sort of sludge and pulled Katsuki out from thin air. His voice alerted the others from behind their cover. Izuku was panicking as he knew that Bakugou was in immense danger. There were other arrivals and it was made clear that this was far more dangerous than what they first anticipated.
All for one spoke to Tomura like he was a child he was rearing and spoke of giving him everything he wanted for his sake. Izuku couldn't even hear their conversation as his mind was racing. The fact that he still hasn't apologized to Katsuki for the fight they had made him sick. Weak and shaky, Izuku was using his instincts to try and get himself to move. It was perhaps within ten meters to go and grab Bakugou and he could clear that distance in half a second.
His brain was going over dozens of possible plans of approach while being unable to settle on one.
Nothing was coming to mind as a surefire plan of attack. Izuku was turning on his heel and about to just go for a suicide run when the face of Mina yelling at him while having tears in her eyes made him take pause. The next memory was the hurt in Nakamura's face as he callously gave the boy information that wasn't meant for the teenagers. They too are owed an apology.
Up until now, he would have acted without hesitation to save others he cared about. Now he was unable to act because of those he left behind and still loved. They didn't deserve him throwing away his life and dying like a hero would. People back home still loved him as he loved them back. For now, his desire to see Mina and apologize was by far the strongest desire in his heart at the moment.
All of a sudden, the air became breathable again for everybody there. That first sweet lungful of air was like heaven for the once scared teenagers. None of them could figure out why they were able to move around again since All for One was still on the other side of the wall. Just left of the group was the answer to their collective questions.
A man dressed in all black with a gas mask stood there silently looking forward. Momo recognized it as the man who killed the Nomu back in the forest while Izuku was certain that this guy was the same one who saved him from Shigaraki back at the mall. The rest of them were not sure who this guy was or how his presence was keeping the fear of All for One at bay. His head tilted towards them and gave them a full view of his mask. It was a more modern respirator with two wide eye holes for him to peer through. The lenses were both tinted black and hid his eyes from their curious gazes.
"Don't be scared."
With that said, the stranger placed his foot on the wall and kicked it out of his way. He sent chunks of concrete and rebar flying as he finally made his presence known. Haru stepped through the hole in the wall and faced the enemy without fear or hesitation.
Meanwhile, All for One had thought that somebody was there when he felt another murderous presence that was grinding up against his own. Searching to his right while leaving the other league members curious as to why it was All for One stopped speaking, their answer arrived and kicked the wall that was to the right of the leader.
From out the dust and rubble came a man dressed in all black with a gas mask while brandishing a serious looking rifle. Only two people there had memories of this individual. Touya felt fear and despair for Haru as there was no way this quirkless man could survive against All for One. The other was the lead villain as he was shocked to see him so soon and like this.
The murderous aura pouring off of All for One began to gush like a geyser as his rage grew at the sight of Haru. It shocked everybody there, including Izuku and the rest of his friends, that the masked man was just as equally pushing back against him.
They locked eyes as Haru skirted around and walked to roughly about thirty meters away dead center of where All for One took aim with his power. It was silent. It was like the world itself recognized that there was a storm and gave the reunited enemies silence for what they had in store for the other person.
"... So. I wonder why you've decided to show up eight years later…"
No response from the stranger. His stare was unreadable, but All for One knew he was looking straight through him. His stomach began to churn horribly and the knife wound in his jaw started to bleed once again. Those memories that still give him nightmares to this date. He decides to show up again, and he refuses to even speak.
"What is it? Is it to finish me off? Unfinished business? Or perhaps…"
All for One gestured to Shigaraki as if he was presenting a grand prize.
"You're still after the boy! You're fifteen years too late! He knows what his mission is and will see things through for the greater good!"
This man was looking for him for fifteen years? Shigaraki could feel a few of the memories that he could barely recall clear up slightly. There was a van that looked strange to the child. Tastes that he still cannot forget. It was almost maddening that he still couldn't find anything to latch onto for a better picture. It couldn't be that these two people with a face he still is unable to see were…
"Does it still hurt? Our little memento?"
Haru tapped a place on his gas mask where the scar was on All for One's jaw. As though it was actually a funny joke, All for One started to ghucke and then laugh out loud. It was unsettling. Especially for Izuku and his friends. How was it that the greatest villain in the world was reacting so strongly to one man's presence?
All Might arrived just as the laughing was reaching its peak. He assumed he would be coming in hot and land a tackle on the villain as soon as he arrived. Whoever was there and speaking to the villain had beaten him to the punch and even got the villain to start laughing loud and sarcastically. Things weren't good for the Hero with how little of One for All's power was fizzing away in his body. Taking a knee was what he did as the coughing returned.
"Ah, All Might! Glad you could join us! Please, come meet my friend!"
The masked figure turned to All Might and it made his spine go off like a chain of firecrackers. This was him. The villain that almost killed both of his teachers. A man who was caked in the blood of those he killed to the point of being drenched. If he was an enemy, then things were looking desperate beyond what little ground he had left to stand on.
"In fact, allow me to introduce our guest here!"
It was mostly to mock the masked man standing there next to All Might. One thing with what All for One was saying was true. He was going to introduce the man by the name he was most recognized by. A title that sent the most powerful and deprived of the criminal underworld running in fear and crying for their lives. Many years of nonstop killing with the butchering of some of Japan's worst and most powerful.
Few saw what it was that would blow through their places of business and leave behind nothing but bloodied rooms painted with the former occupants' remains. These killings were quite shocking when enough of them were discovered by the public. That was around the time that the previous owner of One for All and Gran Torino ran into the actual killer. Both heroes failed and eventually the murders stopped.
What had changed was the sudden rise of a new unseen entity that felt as though it was the room itself when All for One went about his business. Everywhere he went, he could feel something staring at him. His time as a criminal hadn't been affected in any major way, so he just kept his head low as he ignored the suspicion for years. After years of thinking this murderer was probably a hoax that criminals would use to cover up their own hit jobs, he came after him.
"Allow me to introduce one of this country's greatest murderers. With a body count of thousands under his belt and a name truly befitting his legacy, please welcome…"
Like a game show presenter introducing his contestants, he dramatically gestured to the masked man just standing there in silence.
"The infamous Bloodsoaked!"
It was barely a name and more of a description. Reasoning there was because of the connotations labeling him with things like demon or death god would bring. Such concepts were tangible and gave a face to the evils that people faced so as to feel as though they can fight back or resist. He was as inevitable as an earthquake or tsunami. Nobody survived and none could escape when he arrived. Those who did survive were left by choice to get future targets to act more predictably with their survival. They all eventually killed themselves shortly after with the horrors they were forced to watch driving them to the brink.
"Wherever he goes, blood will be spilt like an ocean! With that blood, he shall be forever marked as Bloodsoaked!"
It seemingly ended with just that. All who were listening to the purposefully mocking introduction felt a chill when they heard the nickname. Momo could recall the man was indeed a very violent and savage fighter who would mercilessly beat and execute his victims. His saving of her and Awase was plenty enough evidence to believe the violent backstory. Izuku and All Might were absolutely floored that this was a man who had killed thousands of people. What sort of danger did he present?
While the others were taking in the information, Haru was starting to get irritated. He fucked hated that name so much. Nobody in his organization dare say it at any given time. Some naive idiots pushed their luck or got careless when he was able to hear them and would often be asking for sanitation to clean up another room without another word. Seeing this rotten shit act like such a twat made him begin to piss him off.
From where the UA student sat, they could tell that they weren't in immediate danger and even were able to now function with All for One being confronted by the man. The infamous Bloodsoaked was now beginning to overwhelm All for One's aura of sorts. What Izuku saw was something similar to what he felt so many weeks ago.
All for One gave everybody a feeling of death and terrified them with his cruel nature. Bloodsoaked's was completely empty. Not that it didn't exist; feeling his murderous intent was like it was alive in it's own way and was trying to swallow everything around it. All Might had fought evil like his arch nemesis and would still find a way to remain unfazed. Whatever Bloodsoaked was is out of his school of understanding as even he was nervous standing next to such a dense desire to kill. He could even swear that All for Ones murderous intent was barely what it was a moment ago in comparison.
"I'm going to kill you now."
That got the remaining league members to brace themselves for a fight. They were of no concern to Bloodsoaked as he flew right past all the members and collided directly with All for One himself. They both crashed through the back of the warehouse and further beyond while the rifle Bloodsoaked carried was jammed right into the villain's face. All for One was barely able to turn his head enough to keep the bullets from blowing out the back of his head. They still ripped the right side of his jaw into pieces.
Both of them were hanging off the wall that All for One had crashed into with Bloodsoaked pulling the automatic weapon out of the villain's face and shooting at him as he dropped to the ground. He almost forgot how powerful Bloodsoaked weapons were since the last time. Being bulletproof came from his accumulated powers from over the past century and beyond. Each bullet tore through him like he was made of jello.
Things were different from last they fought. All for One can now heal instantly from most wounds, but now Bloodsoaked wasn't trying to keep his opponent alive either. Last time he was in need of information for the boy's location and only left him alive after realizing everything he was doing was getting him nowhere. At the very least he marked that day in All for One's mind as one he would never forget.
Bloodsoaked reloaded and tucked the empty box into his bag. He would rather the only thing he leaves behind were things like bullet casings and dead bodies. Black tendrils shot out at Bloodsoaked from All for One's fingertips and were all aimed right at the masked man. These were immediately shot out of the sky with a round for each individual tendril.
This wasn't like the last time they fought at all. How was it he was now hitting these impossible shots without fail? Last time, Bloodsoaked used speed and aggression to push the villain into a tight corner. Now it was like he was hitting him with a spear wherever there was a window to stab him through.
He was going to use another attack against Bloodsoaked when he saw three cylindrical items fly right in front of him. Before he could tell what they were, all three grenades exploded and produced enough force to destroy the building that All for One was stuck to. That destruction was extended to the street and warehouse and produced a shockwave that everybody had to shield their faces from.
How was this possible? Shigaraki could only stare in shock as to the nature of the fight. Even as his teacher was healing from the damage and was considered to be one of the strongest, he was being outmaneuvered and hit with so much damage that it didn't even seem like he had his healing. Something came flying out of the dust cloud made by the grenades and burrowed with how hard it hit the dirt exposed by All for One's first attack.
It was All for One who was starting to feel some of the lingering effects of Bloodsoaked weapons. Though he was healing, more damage kept replacing the damage he fixed. A spray of bullets from out of the cloud pelted him and sprayed his blood all over the dirt. He was only able to scream in pain as the metal helmet he had on was partially ripped off in the explosion.
"Teacher!"
Shigaraki couldn't help himself from trying to save his teacher. He dove headfirst into the smoke and ash to try and stop Bloodsoaked. All he had to go on was the sounds and direction of the bullets. When he got to where he thought the source of the gunfire was, Tomura found nothing but floating dust.
There was nothing there. His eyes frantically searched the burning wreckage of the warehouse for any sign of Bloodsoaked. You would think that somebody as hardened by battle like Shigaraki should have noticed somebody sneaking up on him with a pair of restraints, but that's what had happened. Touma was also tossed out of the smoke with his arms behind his back with hinge cuffs that prevented him from reaching the metal restraints. He landed with a thud after stumbling from catching himself.
Bloodsoaked emerged from smoke like an entity of vengeance. In less than a few short moments, he not only subdued All for One with nothing but sheer violence; but had rendered Shigaraki incapable of continuing the fight proper. None of the league villains knew what to do against him. If he could do all that by himself, what hope did they have?
All Might had no words as to what it was he was seeing. All for One was evil incarnate. A vessel for the worst that humanity had to offer. To see the one who murdered his mentor and the person who almost murdered his mentor was difficult to understand for the man. Watching Nana stand up to All for One was like seeing a bonfire burn brightly as a giant snowstorm swallowed it whole. Whoever this Bloodsoaked character was nothing like that.
He was cruel. His methods of attack and overpowering were almost too effortless. Leaping down from the elevated ground, Bloodsoaked made his way to the standing All for One while the villain was healing the last bulletwound. It was all coming back to him. The desperation as he struggled to find a chink in this man's armor. The fear as he hung from the man's knife. Finally, the horror as he then…
"COME ON! KILL ME, YOU SON OF A BITCH!"
All for one was losing his composure and was now the one looking as though they were up against the ropes. None of the wounds he just received were remaining. Izuku and the remaining group of friends were all looking at the scene in bewilderment. The sight of somebody who should have been a shoe in for victory against somebody using a gun to fight was making them scratch their heads in confusion. As Bloodsoaked got closer and closer, it was as if All for One was the one who was hesitating. What could have transpired between them to turn this world renown villain into a jumbled mess?
"Stay away from him! Teacher, run fo-"
"Shut the fuck up, Shigaraki! This is between me and him!"
His teacher had never taken such a tone with him in the past. Though it hurt quite a bit, his worries for the lifelong mentor were still high as Bloodsoaked was still calmly approaching the villain. Everybody else was expecting the confrontation to be the two criminals to lead into a face to face standoff. Nobody was prepared for the masked man to suddenly appear in front of his intended target while brandishing a curved knife with a ring at the end without a blade.
Without explanation, the remains of the villain's metal headgear was smashed to bits and blood began to spray out from the deep neck wound. It drenched Bloodsoaked from the face down in his first dose of blood. One gloved hand jammed itself into the open wound and gave him enough of a grip inside All for One's throat to then throw the villain hard enough into the ground next to All Might to create a second deep trench.
Drips of liquid human fell from the gloved fingers that had been inside of the villain's throat. Off to the side, Midoriya realized that there truly were bigger fish in the sea. What this looked like wasn't the battle between hero and villain or even villain and villain. This was a serial killer who was taking their time cutting into their victim. Under the mask, Haru was smiling as he did when he killed for fun. Feeling his anger and frustration roll away from him in waves as he kept punching holes and lacerating All for One was just what he needed. Moments like these were like breathing in the fresh outdoor air after being trapped in a room for months.
The spectators were almost sickened to the excited and twisted feeling this man was giving off. Many different people would give different definitions as to what constitutes the greatest evil out there. A lot of them would probably argue and disagree with one another, but whatever they would feel as they watched Bloodsoaked put away the knife and take up his gun was unworldly.
Up ahead of Bloodsoaked, the villain was pulling himself free of the trench he was buried in and took in one large lungful of air. Even as All Might was standing right next to him, All for One could only narrow in on his approaching torturer. This was All for One's only chance to retaliate with any sort of meaningful damage. The villain's suit was in tatters, but his powers were still very much intact.
Raising his hands up; if he could use his teleportation powers, he could buy himself some time and even maybe salvage the situation. There was a split moment of hope where All for One thought things were starting to look up if he could just manage this one thing. All it took was good enough aim and the right targets. Plus, Bloodsoaked was still just walking without taking aim. That overconfidence was to be his key to victory.
Not the most accurate prediction made by the villain as he suddenly exploded from the inside out and was launched even further back. Again, nobody knew what just happened that could have made the villain self destruct like he did. All for One landed in a near death state with his hollowed torso beginning to regenerate his organs and other missing parts. Since his head wasn't affected by the blast, he was forced to painfully regenerate from the grasps of his own death.
People from the League of Villains were speechless. Most were stunned to see All for One being so thoroughly abused and being dragged through the dirt like he was. Not even Toga could enjoy the sight of the blood being spilled. Seeing such a sadistic monster doing all of this took out all the love that she had for the blood he was spilling. It scared her terribly. Others from the league were just as shocked as the teenager, if not more so. Touya perhaps had it the worst.
So much of Nakamura's interactions now started to make sense to the young man years after the fact. How it was that he was apparently quirkless and still kept picking fights with his father for the abuse he put the family through. All those times he thought Haru was just talking out of his ass about what it was he believed in were true. He could have easily taken matters into his own hands and killed Endeavor, but he didn't. There was too much for him to think about at the moment while the league's leader was being pushed back.
This time around the healing took much longer due to the amount of damage done. Bloodsoaked turned back to the group of league villains and seemingly disappeared in their eyes. There was a scraping noise suddenly in the center of the group, and those quick to pick up on the new presence could see it was Bloodsoaked catching himself with his heel buried in the ground to stop his sprint. They all realized that none of them could keep up to his speed, not even with their eyes. All of them took up an offensive stance, ready for battle.
It was a wasted effort as a sort of inverse of what had happened with Izuku and his friends as now it was the villains who were now all unable to move. Pouring out of Bloodsoaked was a murderous intent that was like the mouth of a well bursting with icy water and sinking everybody in a deep body of water. His aura in comparison to All for One's was unbelievably different in how dense and bountiful it felt.
There was no doubt in Izuku's mind as he could tell that the fear he felt at the mall and the UA Sports Festival were too similar to this chilling sensation. Although they weren't being targeted by his intentions, the UA students could tell how much of a threat this one person was. Had it been them under the bone crushing fear, they would have been nothing but helpless. Getting a look of it from the outside made it obvious to Midoriya that even he wouldn't have been able to move, much less think about doing so.
None of the villains could muster enough willpower to move. They were all being dragged further and further down as the light above them was slowly disappearing. Bloodsoaked tilted his face to the right a little to speak to the villains present. It was then they felt something coil around them like a tentacle of some unspeakable creature claiming them all for itself. Toga couldn't take it and lost the ability to control her legs. She landed on her bottom and sweated bullets while remaining helpless.
Most of them thought that they had seen it all and felt the worst that life had to offer. Each had their marks and were familiar with the evils of the world. Finding a home in that same environment took thick skin and a lot of guts. After years of survival and experience, none of that mattered for shit with this guy.
"Sit."
On command they all lost feeling in their legs and collapsed to the floor. Something was speaking to them from the depths of their fear, a voice that wasn't their own. It told them all to listen; nothing more, nothing less. Simple instructions that were easy enough to obey. Shigaraki felt the fear sink itself into his bones without caring if he had something to say against it. He could hear the man's boots come closer and closer to him and send him into an involuntary panic. He had never felt so terrified and was even about to cry just then.
Rather than any sort of attempt to end his life, he felt his wrists being released from his bindings. When both arms were released, Shigaraki could feel the tension in his shoulders ease up as he inspected his wrists. The one who released him had seen the need to release him as well less than a few minutes after the fact. Bloodsoaked returned the cuffs to his shoulder bag on his back after folding them in half by it's hinges. For a moment, there was a thought that crossed Tomura's mind that Bloodsoaked looked careless enough and was right in range to lunge for his ankles.
An immense weight on Shigaraki's whole body nailed him to the dirt floor. His little sneak attack was already caught by Bloodsoaked and stopped before Tomura was even going to decide to do it. What was so different from other intense feeling's he's received from other villains like Stain was his available willpower. Stain had a sadistic energy that was more like a dare or offer to take the risk of losing his life if he were to cross him. Bloodsoaked was forcing him to accept his command to not even consider doing it. Shigaraki was willing to risk his life for the possibility of success. There was no success if he tried with Bloodsoaked. If an infinite amount of universes existed, none of them would end in success.
Next on Haru's list was to get Bakugou out of there. Turning to the boy made Katsuki flinch a little at receiving this guy's attention suddenly. He feebly put his arms up in case this guy wanted to fight him. It did make Haru a little proud to see Bakugou react appropriately and take the best option for survival. Keeping Haru in front of him and not running would eliminate the risks he would be taking from his ranged attacks. It wasn't perfect, but it was the best option. Haru stopped short of a few meters and stood there saying nothing for a moment.
"..."
"..."
All Katsuki got in terms of instructions was a little point of Haru's head towards the hole in the wall that Nakamura made when he entered the fray. The boy didn't register the instructions properly at first, but it eventually sank in when he realized he was telling the boy to leave. There was a moment of hesitation as the blonde took a few shuffles before just walking away with his eyes still glued on the now appropriately named Bloodsoaked.
Compress was just able to muscle up some ability to move. It took almost every bit of strength and willpower he had to regain some control in his shivering body. Far from being perfect, it would have to do if he was to stop the young Bakugou from escaping. The range was a bit much; so by shooting a subtle look to Magne, she in turn understood the game plan.
Her job was to simply draw in Bloodsoaked to allow Compress enough space to ambush Katsuki. They confirmed the plan they planned with subtle gestures and got ready for their chance. Before they could properly sync up their breathing, Compress felt a crushing sensation on his lower thigh before being knocked out with a single hard punch that shattered his current mask. Since the villain was pinned to the ground with Bloodsoaked's boot, he was forced to swing back and hit the ground with the back of his head. The blow shattered his cheekbone and dislocated his jaw while giving him a pretty good concussion.
Magne was panicking now. She now was just trying to keep Compress alive as she attempted to use her quirk to drag away the killer. Sending him away would only make him use his gun, so close range was her only hope against this guy. What happened then was as the quirk activated, Bloodsoaked didn't initially move, but had something fly off of his person and towards the masculine woman. Her reaction was too slow in realizing that he had another grenade prepped and had likely anticipated her making this judgment call.
A massive fog of gast spewed all over the immediate area and caused everyone caught in the cloud to start coughing and gagging. They couldn't see a thing, so it was another advantage Bloodsoaked had in dealing with the rest of the villains.
Over next to the now awake All for One, All Might was still unable to find out what it is that brought Bloodsoaked to this battle. One moment he cuts open a man's throat to then shove ordinance into the open wound Before throwing him hard enough to dig a several long meter trench. Now he was giving the young Bakugou the chance to leave while covering his escape. Nothing about this guy made any sense to the Hero.
Hearing All for One come to get All Might to pay attention to the villain and take up a defensive stance. Even after the villain coughed to clear their throat after getting up, his eyes once again zeroed in on the cloud of tear gas that contained Bloodsoaked. There was such a deep hatred pouring out of the villain, yet none of it was for him. The man who disfigured him and almost killed him was less than a few meters to his right, yet he was mostly ignored in favor of the killer who supposedly torture All for One years before then.
"... Why are you after him? What did he do to you all those years ago that makes you hate him so much?"
The villain's scar from Bloodsoaked spilled blood again and even made the villain spit blood as it reached the interior of his mouth. He bitterly chuckled as he responded to All Might's morbid curiosity.
"Heh, you truly want to know… What it is that twisted thing did to me?"
Missing his eyes didn't subtract from the look of trauma and anger that stretched the skin of his face into a look of agonizing wrath. Whatever he had to say was something that bothered the villain. Could he stomach the truth as to why it was the greatest villain hated this masked murderer unlike anything else? His silence was telling enough that he indeed wanted to know how these two knew each other.
Just then, the reinforcements arrived with Gran Torino leading the charge. Only he arrived on the scene and was witness to the strange sight of All Might conversing with a badly beaten All for One. If his student had managed to punish the villain with just his remaining power, there was perhaps quite a lot he underestimated about his former student.
His real answer as to the question of the bizarre sight emerged from a cloud of gas while it was dragging the unconscious bodies of the League of Villains. After all these years, he would never forget the sight of that monster he faced with his old friend and lost so horribly against. Death dare not approach that man in risk of becoming another one of his victims. What then caught the elders ears was the conversation that was happening between his student and the villain.
Izuku was so happy to see Bakugou that he tried to hug the boy without success as Katsuki just shoved back at him. A lot had to be said, but it would have to wait until they were out of danger properly. They made their way past the crater and around the fight towards where they knew All Might came from. There was help likely heading from that direction. Following the border of the crated also gave the children access to hearing what was being said between All Might and All for One.
Not a single person there listening to that conversation could believe what they heard. What it was that irked and tormented the world's greatest villain. How it was something so deplorable and cruel like One for all found its way to the only thing that could be even fouler than him.
"Do you wish to know how he plagues my mind? How he haunts my nightmares? The reason my wound bleeds when he crosses my mind?! Do you?!"
All for one didn't wait for a response as he thrusted a finger directly at the man who was still bringing over the unconscious villains.
"Over eight years ago, that man tortured me after killing my men! He didn't just stop there…"
He screamed these words to the point All Might thought he was about to go deaf.
"HE CUT MY JAW OPEN AND FORCE FED ME THE REMAINS OF MY MEN!"
It was like the world was sucked dry of all it's warmth as they heard the agony of All for One recounting his past with Bloodsoaked. So many conflicting feelings for every person there. The only thing they could feel as a whole was the fear setting in for the man approaching the villain and All Might.
To call this man a monster or demon was wrong. Not even labeling them as a god of death or the devil could do him justice. If evil was a natural state of being and just as inevitable as life and death; that was what he was.
He was evil itself.
