All hell broke loose with the mortal wounding of Nighteye. Everyone was now engaged in a three way battle royale with one another as Izuku snuck away from the officers carrying Mirio out on a stretcher. He was able to punch another hole in a different hallway to see what was going on in the fight.
There was nothing but chaos as the ESD were extracting a mortally wounded Nighteye while the other heroes were trying to take on both Chisaki and Bloodsoaked. Almost all of them had been knocked around silly by the criminals they were trying to apprehend without assistance from the ESD. A good amount of heroes were thrown off their game for a moment after witnessing one of their own get skewered on a spike. That vulnerability was something Vhisaki used to gain the upper hand on the heroes.
As much as the heroes were hellbent on stopping these two killers, they weren't making a dent in their defenses. They were lacking reinforcements while being matched up with the worst types of quirks for the villains. Fat Gum was reported to be in a completely different part of the facility with Kirishima. Receiving help from the surface was just as much out of the question. The ESD officers were requesting that the heroes leave immediately due to the unexpected presence of Bloodsoaked, who risked all their lives by simply being in the room. It was an order that was belayed over the hero's moral obligation to stop these criminals. Sentiment and morality were factors that had little bearing on their actual chances of success.
Although Amajiki was rattled, he engaged in the fight without hesitating. He fought desperately out of guilt over getting his best friend's teacher killed when it should have been him that was to die. Tentacles from his quirk were launched right at Bloodsoaked while the killer was looking away from the young hero.
His quirk was one that gave him unique abilities to shapeshift into based on what he eats. Things like the armored shell of a clam or the speed of a chicken were what he was able to use during a fight. Using his octopus tentacles, he was dead set on capturing Bloodsoaked in a bundle of said appendages. Instead of wrapping themselves around the masked man, the tentacles were snatched out of the air right as they were about to make physical contact.
Bloodsoaked saw the attack coming from a mile away. A quick fling of his arm yanked the boy off his feet into a pile of rubble. Amajiki was still alive, but now was certain he broke something in the arm he sprouted his tentacles from.
The serial murderer didn't need to turn his head to know when someone was trying to blindside him. Using non lethal techniques to punish each person that got too close seemingly was enough for Bloodsoaked as he kept leaning into the punishment he was dishing out upon Chisaki. Bullets were still burying themselves into the flesh of Overload without a single one missing their mark.
Being cornered by both the heroes and Bloodsoaked infuriated the yakuza leader. He was made the fool as he still couldn't touch the killer while he was still occupied with the other nuisances. Now he was furious enough to simply go damn to the consequences and launched another massive wave of spikes for each individual person in the room. Aizawa had been too slow on the draw and received several puncture wounds on his arms and legs for mistiming his own ability.
All the other heroes were worse for wear since they all were given their lumps by the masked murderer. None of their attempts were even phasing the individual, much less slowing him down even. Amajiki was injured along with the other heroes enough for the ESD to come to their rescue. What had felt like half an hour was in fact just a few minutes. They were all finally carried out of the fray with the officers providing some much needed cover against Chisaki's attacks. Overhaul was just glad the annoyances were finally gone.
His problems were still very much present still as Bloodsoaked reloaded once again. He wanted to close the distance immediately so that he could at least lower the danger of the gun that had been planting rifle rounds into his body for the entire fight.
A solid kick to his head sent the villain flying to their right and landing painfully into the rubble. Overhaul was so focused on the heroes and Bloodsoaked that he neglected to notice the new arrival. Midoriya landed a solid blow with the bottom of his steel shoe on the villain's head. It was a decent enough blow for the tight window he had to react against the mutated yakuza leader.
Things were far from over as Izuku then turned to face the masked man with his stance low to help his mobility. Being a melee fighter while there was a gun present did a lot to shift one's priorities in a confrontation. Closing the distance was a priority, but he would have to risk life and limb in order to do so.
Strangely, Bloodsoaked didn't aim or lift his gun in any sort of offensive stance. Reaching into his backpack caused Izuku to flinch in reaction to the movement. Rather than engaging the boy, he threw something in Overhaul's direction, making a loud ping noise as it left the bloodied glove. Just as Chisaki shook the stars out of his vision, something came rolling towards him before rolling to a stop in front of his head. All of his arms went up to shield his head from the blast of the grenade that Bloodsoaked threw at the disoriented Overhaul.
Midoriya shielded his face out of reaction to the noise. Turning his attention back to Bloodsoaked only served to inform the boy about how little of a concern he had over the boy's presence. The killer was already turned towards Chisaki as the young man regenerated himself for the upteenth time.
Nothing was going well for Overhaul. Any chance of beating this killer was well out of his reach at this point. Now he needed to think about escaping after he retrieved Eri. If he could get his hands on Eri, he could simply close off his escape route behind him and leave everyone in the dust.
What he had planned to do next was all based on a certain amount of luck. Whether or not Eri was in earshot was the biggest factor as he summoned the consciousness of the man he absorbed to produce his additional limbs. A mouth on his palm gave the consciousness the ability to speak and utilize their quirk.
"Eri! I died again because of you! Is this what you wanted?!"
The child was still able to hear the accusation being thrown in her direction. Already, his power was working its magic as Eri was now compelled to respond to the individual speaking. She sprinted past the officers helping to escort her to safety in order to find the hole that Izuku opened up. Right behind her were the officers who were charged with protecting her, now trying to retrieve the girl from the dangerous battlefield.
"No! I never wanted to hurt anyone!"
After months of suffering and torture, she still didn't want to hurt people. All this destruction was never her intention from the very beginning. This was all too much for a kind child like Eri.
"Do you think this boy can overcome both me and this man? Can he win against both of us?"
Izuku was panicked at the fact Eri was still too close to the fight for his comfort. Nakamura was turning his attention towards the arrogant yakuza, throwing his accusations in an attempt to emotionally blackmail Eri into returning to Chisaki. Somehow, this guy was pissing him off way more than he did already.
"... No."
"Then what should you do?"
"G-go back… But you have to fix everyone! I'll only go if you do that!"
Still being manipulative, Chisaki gave a rather twisted interpretation of the past few hours that made it out to be that Eri was responsible. Accusing her of being nothing but an existence that only draws in death and destruction.
"You are unwanted."
"No. That would be you."
Cutting into the conversation was the deep manipulated voice of Bloodsoaked. Making his way over to the yakuza leader, each footstep was taken with a restrained sort of wrath making them heavy.
"You were nothing but a little rat scavenging for leftovers in the garbage. He only took you in out of pity and some misguided belief that you had potential."
Midoriya noticed how Chisaki was having a strong reaction to what Bloodsoaked was saying. A look of fear told him that what was being said was a deeply personal and traumatic moment in his life.
"All you did was suck him dry of everything he was. What you ended up becoming was an overgrown parasite, unsatisfied and wanting to feast on another innocent person without a care in the world."
He came to a stop about ten meters away from Overhaul. What he said next hammered the final nail in the coffin for the yakuza leader.
"You should have died in that gutter. That is what you were worth. Now? I see nothing but a spoiled child who nobody even wants to look at."
A finger was pointed right at Chisaki by Nakamura.
"You're not just unwanted, the trash you used to live in was worth more than you."
Seconds passed while Chisaki stood absolutely still without making a sound. In a split moment, a rage unlike anything he felt took him over and turned him into a charging beast with Bloodsoaked as his sole target. His past was something he absolutely despised to this day. Not only did Bloodsoaked know about it, he insulted him for his trauma as well as telling him he should have died in that miserable dump rather than bother with living.
All of his hands grabbed boulders of varying sizes from the rubble caused by their fight. With a chunk of stone in each hand, Chisaki used his quirk to use the stone as a sort of ranged attack by reforming them into lengthened spears.
The speed they reformed them at was enough of an attack by itself. When those pieces failed to meet their mark, he threw the sharpened debris at Bloodsoaked like javelins.
Watching Chisaki lash out like a rabid animal was enough of a turn off for Bloodsoaked. It was like watching a child in a public place scream and kick when they weren't given what they demanded. Stretching this out was nothing but a chore for the man who could see that dragging out this fight was more work than it was worth.
Not wanting to drag things out, Bloodsoaked slipped past one rock spear and decked Overhaul on the chin hard enough to send him flying backwards. The fist slipped right under the right arm and connected with a solid crack of the jawbone. Chisaki went right into a loose pile of rubble and was forcefully buried underneath the shattered rock from his head to his chest. He erupted from the debris with murder on the mind with a glare in his eyes to match. However, there was something he saw in Bloodsoaked's hand that he needed to process for a second to realize what it was.
In the murderous man's gloved hand was what looked to be a detonator. Before he could even utter a protest, Bloodsoaked pressed the button and unleashed an earthquake that was now starting to gain intensity with every passing second. It ultimately climaxed with the sudden disappearance of the ceiling above their heads.
There was suddenly a massive opening that cleaved straight through the entire facility from the surface all the way down to the bottom floor. The sequence of detonation was controlled by the selector switches on the side of the remote that Nakamura possessed. He had an active readout of the current occupancy of the facility with all the heroes and officers being marked with a tracer. Through his private comms, Haru alerted the ESD and many of the police officers that he was now about to completely demo the facility. Those who were in the initial detonation zone were instructed to clear out before he hit the switch.
Eri was out of range of the falling debris from where she stood while Izuku was close enough to the edge of the room to snatch up the girl and shield her from the destruction. All the destruction eventually slowed to a halt with a hole the size of a large courtyard now exposing the sky to the bottom floor.
Still on their feet, Bloodsoaked and Chisaki were still facing off against each other with almost a meter of debris burying them up to their waists.
"... You… YOU BASTARD!"
Years of work that went into building the underground facility was torn apart right in front of Chisaki.
"Are you fucking insane?! You could have killed us all! Was murdering the last of the yakuza not enough?! You piece of-"
The detonator was raised into the air again. Seemed as though the current level of demolition was just a demonstration of the possible damage Bloodsoaked was capable of. Overhaul was about to abandon the facility with Eri in tow with the only working prototype of the quirk erasing drug in tow. Watching the work of yakuza before him being blown to bits right in front of him by the man he hated with every fiber of his being was an insult he would be dead before accepting without objection.
Before he escaped with the girl, he would put this crazed murderer in his place by tearing him apart and reconstituting him as a lump of meat. Death was far too good for this twisted fuck.
"... Choose. Kill yourself now, or suffer when I get my hands on you. Your choice."
Who the hell did this man think he was? There was no way in hell he would ever submit to a madman like this crazed maniac. There was something he saw that was truly gruesome that made the young acting leader of the yakuza realize how fucked the yakuza were as a whole.
All around him were all the dead bodies that were all produced from the murder spree that Bloodsoaked took a part of before reaching Overhaul. Almost a hundred bodies were jutting out of the rubble in various states of disrepair. Chunks of rotting meat along with barely intact body parts littered the surrounding debris. These men were never going to return to serve the yakuza. By killing them, Bloodsoaked all but guaranteed the extinction of the yakuza.
Guided by a baser instinct that overrode the rational part of his mind, Chisaki began to reach out and crasp at the pieces of the dead yakuza like a madman. He morphed each piece into his flesh as Overhaul absorbed bits of human flesh piece by piece. If any normal person had been looking, they would have been repulsed by how disgusting of a visual it was.
Over time, the bodies gradually served to produce a larger entity that was completely constructed out of human flesh and bones. A goliath of twisted flesh was all that remained of the once proud Overhaul. Again, there were no depths he felt were too deep for him to go to restore the yakuza.
A Short Bit Earlier
The heroes above ground were suddenly met with heroes who were retreating from the yakuza compound by the insistence of the ESD officers who were providing security for those who were retreating. Kirishima and Fat Gum were able to extract themselves without incident thanks to the boy's foresight to avoid a fight against Bloodsoaked. Pride was bruised, but they were alive thanks to the restraint of Kirishima.
Suddenly, a blast out of nowhere blew a hole in the middle of the road that was running perpendicular to the yakuza compound. All the heroes who were still up on the surface were able to peer down into the newly created pit to witness a confrontation between a monster and someone nobody could recognize from their distance.
ESD were already looking to contain the disaster and back the heroes up from a potentially unstable environment. Homes all around the designated area that were likely to be affected by the crossfire were all given fair warning and time to evacuate long before the actual raid occurred. This process took a good amount of time and discretion from the department. Estimating the potential damages that would be caused by a cave in of the entire facility was calculated and cordoned off from civilians to prevent bystander injury or death.
Good thing the man who blew the hole in the middle of the residential area already accounted for and got the innocent families away from the area with plenty of time for them to grab their essentials. Although their homes were destroyed, all their information was recorded for compensation purposes.
Partway down the pit, Tsuyu and Ochaco were startled as well as perplexed at the sudden appearance of a massive pit that cut through multiple floors. Everyone involved with the raid had practically shown up at the chasm that showed up out of nowhere. Heroes above ground were instructed to proceed with caution if they were to approach the possible hazard. Almost every single hero was present and accounted for with the hole assisting in visual confirmation. Officers began retrieving rappelling equipment from the armored vehicles to start their descent.
Before they could reach the bottom, there was something that forced them to stop and reassess the situation. They dismounted on a floor halfway to the bottom and took aim along with the other officers up on the surface.
Chisaki was grabbing several things from off the floor while starting to become larger with each item he picked up. His flesh was grotesque with bubbling mounds shifting underneath his elastic skin. One after another, he used the dead bodies of his former men to fuel his current form and produce a vile monstrosity of a body to keep on fighting.
He was able to morph more and more flesh the larger he grew at an accelerated pace. Now Overhaul was a goliath with a frame large enough to crush a house under its weight.
Nothing about the form Chisaki chose to use for his disastrous creation looked right. A hastily cobbled together mish mash of rough estimates and minimum effort. None of these things concerned Overhaul at that moment, not when the man he wanted to kill more than anybody in the world was still breathing.
Meanwhile, Midoriya and Eri were completely bewildered at the gigantic abomination that Chisaki had binded himself into. What should have been a mouth was what he used as a sort of cockpit where he controlled the rest of his creation. Walking forward on the malformed limbs caused the ground to shake enough to rattle the debris still littering the bottom floor. Bending down to face Bloodsoaked, Chisaki faced the murderer with absolute hatred in his heart.
"What now, fucker? Ain't nothing going to stop me from ripping you apart before I take the kid back. Any last words?"
As intimidating a situation it seemed to be, what amazed Izuku more was how calm and composed Bloodsoaked was just standing there without a care in the world. Through the tinted visor, Chisaki couldn't make out a single feature that could help him in identifying this man. It was almost unnerving how the simple headwear made the legendary killer seem less human than he already was.
Still making eye contact with the mutated Chisaki, Bloodsoaked decided it best to push the young man's buttons one last time to trigger a violent reaction.
"I didn't think it was possible; but you now actually look like the pile of ugly shit you are."
Killing him wasn't enough for Chisaki. What he needed from Bloodsoaked was for him to die slowly while suffering as he drew his last few breaths through his mask filter. Only then would he be satisfied.
All of Overhaul's oversized arms reached for the pit opening above him before bringing them down into a ground slam that shook the area itself. Large amounts of concrete and building material leapt off of the ground along with Izuku and Eri. Midoriya saw the little girl lose her balance while starting to tumble in the air. There was no hesitation for him to use a boulder that had been tossed into the air as a base platform for his jump. Mapping out a trajectory was an easy enough task since there was more than enough midair footing for his purposes.
It took less than a second for Izuku to come to Eri's rescue. His arms cradled the scared child as he flipped to reorient himself with the ground. Eri had to take a second to realize she wasn't falling anymore when she began to crack her eyelids open. The first thing she saw was the gentle smile of Emerald Paragon welcoming her back to the land of the living.
"Don't worry, I'm here."
Those words resonated deeply within her soul. She could have sworn she felt something similar some time ago. Thinking back, the feeling she had was the same when Bloodsoaked told her that he would keep her safe. What she felt was the sensation of being safe. Her life was in good hands.
Her hands clutched the front of her nightgown where the silk handkerchief was tucked away. Maybe she was finally going to be able to return the square piece of luxury fabric to the man who entrusted her with it. All those nights of crying herself to sleep while clutching onto the hope in her heart weren't just fleeting delusions. Someone was finally here to take her away from all the cruelty and pain that took advantage of her. For the first time in a long time, she allowed herself to cry out of joy for her newfound freedom.
Things were only getting worse for Chisaki as he now realized that Eri was now in the arms of the young hero. He shouted for Eri while attempting to charge into the two kids trying to escape the deep pit. Something obstructed his forward movement by the right arm of his haphazardly assembled homunculus. The dust settled enough for Chisaki to see Bloodsoaked with the arm wrapped up in his arms. Without time to react, Overload was suddenly thrown into the ground with a hard throw.
Almost all the rubble he landed on was crushed into gravel with the amount of force he landed with. Controlling this thing required his own nervous system to become integrated with the extension of his flesh. Hitting the ground like he did sent every sensation of pain he could feel from the rest of his new body.
Midoriya didn't waste any time in taking Eri back towards the surface through the new skylight, courtesy of Bloodsoaked. Chisaki desperately reached for the escapees to then get himself plugged full of bullets that somehow were powerful enough to go through the body and bury themselves into the rock behind Overhaul. There was still the issue of the man who still had it out for the young acting leader of the yakuza.
For Chisaki, none of this was fair. Putting the boss into a coma was not an easy decision he made lightly. Healing him afterwards was all part of the plan, even if it cost him his position in the yakuza. This organization meant everything to him. Even more than himself for that matter.
Hearing about the power his granddaughter had gave Chisaki an idea to help the current standings of the yakuza. Reason why she was passed onto her grandfather was due to her powers that were capable of rewinding time on any object she interacted with. Whatever her quirk was used on restored it to a previous state of existence. It was a unique ability that nobody in her family possessed that manifested in the child out of chance.
Problem was that the ability itself was still in its infantile stage and couldn't really be controlled. Her father learned the hard way when he went in for a hug with his little girl and disappeared. Eri's mother found the empty clothes next to a scared Eri as she asked her mother what happened.
That was the day Eri lost the love of her daughter and gained the woman's fear instead. Without hesitation, she was given to her grandfather to be cared for while the mother ran away.
Chisaki devised a plan that would use the special power that Eri possessed and produce a product he knew he could sell to the rest of the world that only the yakuza would be able to provide for. After listening to the ambitious young man, the boss put his foot down and said no to approving the plan. What Chisaki was proposing would require him to sacrifice his only grandchild to highly invasive surgery that would leave her scarred for life. Even then, making Eri nothing but a petri dish where the primary component for the drug would be harvested for the rest of her life was something truly monstrous. Even as the acting boss of the once infamous yakuza, he would not fall to such depravity.
This didn't sit well with the young man. The Yakuza was his life, his family, and his purpose in life. Nobody was going to stand in his way if he wished to achieve his dreams of restoring the yakuza. That was around the time the mysterious contact approached the young man over a phone call.
At first he was skeptical and suspicious of the caller, but was given a reason to believe them in the form of a large donation that had no strings attached. Hearing the man out informed Chisaki of the power he was to gain if they were to engage in business. How their partnership would launch them all into the stratosphere while operating under his discretion.
Weeks of testing the water led to a mutually beneficial business, though the one thought that crossed his mind as he hung up on that call were the words his adoptive father pleaded with as he was put into his coma. The boss begged Chisaki about how dangerous it was that he was going through with what he planned without 'that man's' permission. When he asked his informant about what the old man was talking about, all Chisaki got in return was a mere dismissal with advice to keep working under the radar.
Watching the boss look genuinely distressed didn't sit well with the current acting leader of the yakuza. For weeks he thought it was because the boss was afraid of going into a coma; now he realized what that fear was for in actuality.
The rest of the yakuza were dead. The facility was compromised by being blown to smithereens. Eri was slipping through his fingers to never return. All of it the doing of one man, who was currently dead set on giving Overhaul a hellish experience before killing him. A hand touched the uneven flesh of his enhanced body to patch up the bullet wounds given to him by Bloodsoaked. Stumbling to his feelings was more difficult than it should have been due to Chisaki messing around with body parts that weren't originally his own.
Facing the bloodied executioner, he now knew who his father was talking about. This man, a living reincarnation of death, was something he underestimated from the very beginning. Now recognizing the threat that Bloodsoaked posed did little to help Chisaki at this point. There was a density in the air he chose to ignore during his interaction with the masked man. Chisaki still couldn't believe that one person was capable of being this bloodthirsty. It was more of a drowning sensation rather than a choking one with the feeling Overhaul felt while breathing next to Bloodsoaked.
Step after step, the distance was being closed between Overhaul and his opponent. Reloading the gun sent shivers down the yakuza leader's spine. Sliding metal scraping against each other. Hard snapping from loading a round into the gun. Each bit of noise was just another grim indicator that the pain was still due to continue.
Above
Right as he touched down to the floor, Midoriya was approached by two officers who escorted him and the girl away from the hole so that they could run some medical tests. Izuku was still fit to fight, while Eri was suffering from mental trauma. It wasn't something they wanted to ignore as they took charge of getting the girl to a hospital for further treatment.
Leaving the girl behind, a small hand grabbed one of the tails of his hood. Eri wanted to tell Izuku something before they were separated once more. Promising her that he'll see her again afterwards didn't seem to put her at ease as he had expected.
"Please, help that man! Don't leave him behind to fight alone!"
To say he was caught off guard would have been the understatement of the year. Seeing the genuine concern for a murderer made Izuku feel conflicted at best over what he should do. After this was all over, he and all the others would have to take in Bloodsoaked for all the crimes he went unpunished for. Looking into Eri's concerned eyes, Izuku could see that this girl genuinely cared about what would happen to her unexpected rescuer.
He took her hand into his own and gave the girl a solid nod to confirm her request would be taken seriously. Though hesitant, Eri let Izuku go and watched as he returned to join his fellow compatriots all peering down into the hole.
"What's happening now?"
Tapping Kirishima's shoulder to get some more information on the current situation didn't give the young hero any better of an idea than earlier. Down below was a thick layer of dust that was being agitated by the two combatants fighting to the death. On top of the sound of gunfire were explosives going off randomly. Nobody without the proper equipment could make out what was happening at the bottom of such a god forsaken pit.
A change in sound started to make the ground the people up above were standing on shake. Slamming noises were traveling up the chasm for a little while, which stopped for a few seconds before Chisaki's monstrous form had suddenly produced wings and was now ascending the sides of the hole.
Officers immediately instructed the heroes to back up when the behemoth finally surfaced. Officers kept their weapons trained on the beastly creature as it kept flailing at something on what looked like its head.
Taking a closer look, Midoriya realized that Bloodsoaked had his hands buried into the flesh of Chisaki's mouth-like appendage. There was something that was being pulled off of the pseudo head by the handful. A chunk of what it was that was being removed fell a few meters from where Izuku stood. The red liquid that splattered onto the road told Izuku enough for him to know that Bloodsoaked was yanking out chunks of Chisaki's flesh with his bare hands.
Not enough time passed for the heroes to react quickly enough to properly react as the leathery wings made by Chisaki began to beat in the air. Getting such a large body off the ground required a significant amount of air pressure to get it off the ground. Many of the people surrounding the fight had to take cover behind the shieldbearers and the shields that were now nailed into the floor.
There was no way for Chisaki to do anything more than fly straight up with the wings he created. He made them as a desperate measure to help get him out of the facility through the pit. Creating distance between himself and the law was an imperative task he needed to accomplish if he wished to achieve his dreams. There would be other days and opportunities for him to kidnap Eri and restart the project at a later time. Even if he were to escape today, all that work he had was now piss in the wind. His only working prototype was lost in the fight and left him with nothing to work off of if he managed to escape.
Getting out of the mouth-like opening at that moment was not an option he could take if he wanted to live. The larger body he thought was a boon had now been turned into a prison cell with Bloodsoaked trying to claw his way in.
Having one's skin and muscle get ripped out hurts in any sort of context. If he wanted to, Bloodsoaked could have simply wrenched open the jaw to get inside of the protective barrier. Getting Overhaul to open up through pain made more sense for the sadistic killer.
By taking off into the air, Chisaki hoped to use half of the flesh he possessed to make his getaway while leaving Bloodsoaked on the other half to drop to his death. Nobody could advance with the air that was now lifting both murderous criminals high above. Izuku realized easily enough that perhaps Chisaki was trying to escape with the plan he hatched for himself. Promising a girl to same someone, even if that someone was a serial murderer, was not something Midoriya took lightly. As a man of his word, he activated One for All and used the higher percentage of his ability and launched himself just hard enough to overcome the air pressure enough to grab a hold of a loose bunch of skin.
From below, other heroes like Ochaco and Aizawa were demanding that Izuku stop acting so belligerent with his own life yet again. He knew better, but this was something that he couldn't explain himself.
Inside of him, there was this instinct to save the life of Bloodsoaked. That part of him had only acted up in one other instance, much like this one. Back at I-Island, there was a man in a silver skinsuit that helped him defeat the kidnappers after Shield's research and technology. Again, the feeling only compelled the boy subconsciously.
High above the street below, Izuku was finally given some reprieve from the intense winds that were made by the wings. Climbing past the shoulder finally put him above the wings. Reaching the head of the homunculus resulted in Izuku and Bloodsoaked to finally meet face to face. Everything had been a sequence of set events that eventually led to their meeting as hero and villainous murderer. Behind the mask, Nakamura was slightly startled to see Izuku in such a precarious situation alongside him while he was trying to end Chisaki's little side project.
A particularly rough shake that was caused by a headwind colliding with the barely airborne flesh golem. The boy lost his balance as his grip failed him for a split moment. Being in front of a murderer that even his teacher's teacher couldn't beat distracted Izuku enough to stop paying attention to his surroundings for a few moments. Tumbling off the side, Midoriya felt his heart drop as he reached out to grab a hold of something. Only air met his grip.
Unexpectedly, his rescuer was also the man he was tasked to arrest alongside Chisaki. Bloodsoaked caught the falling Izuku before he could fall off completely by grabbing the boy's extended arm from the wrist.
Overhaul noticed that the pain of getting his flesh torn asunder had momentarily stopped. Opening his shelter, what he saw was something he was sure was his one chance to end the life of the man who completely ruined his aspirations. From behind the man, Izuku saw Chisaki dive for Bloodsoaked by stretching the spot where he was attached to the body. The other hand stretched out with its intended target within split seconds to make contact.
"Watch out!"
Midoriya was tossed further above as Bloodsoaked then evaded the arm going for his back and spinning around fast enough to snatch the arm by the forearm. He still had the other arm to contend with.
Going in for the kill, the left hand was aimed dead center of Bloodsoaked's head. From behind, Bloodsoaked drew his knife faster than Chisaki could manage with his left arm to cut a deep gash into his palm. Blood instantly started gushing from the wound while also dripping off into the wind.
It hurt like hell, but this was a matter of life or death if he didn't keep up the assault. Every attempt to touch the masked killer only served to maim Chisaki's already heavily abused hand. One nasty knife stroke severed the tips of his index and middle finger by the first joint on both fingers. Overhaul was close to losing his nerves. The pain in his lacerated hand was nothing but a dull ache as the brain was far too fixated on the larger picture of events over the specifics.
"WHY?! I SAW WHAT THE GREATER GOOD WAS! WHY CAN'T PEOPLE LIKE YOU SEE THAT WHAT I HAVE IS SOMETHING FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN MONEY OR SOME OTHER SHIT?! WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!"
Another attempt to touch Bloodsoaked had the arm wind up by a significant amount. It was a final act of desperation as Chisaki couldn't cope with the fact that he lost everything. Now, all he had left was his revenge against Bloodsoaked.
"California Smash!"
Falling from above, Izuku had a beat on Overhaul from a blindspot and came crashing down on the villain with his steel boot. The move he used was an original from All Might himself. By rotating in a specific manner, damage was multiplied by the momentum of the body. Originally an aerial move, it was the ideal way to end the fight decisively.
All the force went into Chisaki's chest. Bones were broken while softer bits were all bruised thoroughly. Pain completely overloaded his brain and rendered the man unconscious in no time at all. Both wings stopped flapping from Overhaul losing control of them. Now there was nothing keeping those still high above the ground from succumbing to the effects of gravity.
Two still conscious with the third completely knocked out. These three were about to meet an early end if something wasn't done immediately. Racking Midoriya's brain in the incredibly stress-inducing situation was all the data he tried to process in order to find some way to survive the fall. Keeping a level head was Nakamura with an idea over what needed to be done already being executed.
Izuku was too distracted to see Bloodsoaked touch his mask to swap to the proper channel and said something without the mask broadcasting his voice to Midoriya. Unknown to Midoriya, things were about to get even more chaotic than they already were.
Without warning, Izuku was lifted by the back of his costume and flung with a decent amount of force off of the unconscious Overhaul. He soared through the sky with the force of the wind resistance providing a sort of simulation of what flight probably felt like. Thinking this was the end, he closed his eyes and used his arms to help block the impact from below. It wasn't the hard impact of concrete or tiling that cushioned his fall, but a much softer and pillowy sort of impact.
Pulling him out of the pile of bubbles that were used to save him were the ESD officers who were instructed in setting up the crash prevention equipment. Had he been conscious during the end of his practical entrance exam, he would have realized that the same devices were used to save him from back then as well.
Still falling was Nakamura and Chisaki. The crowd below was instructed to back up as the large mass of flesh was plummeting right for the hole blown into the street from earlier. Within Izuku, he still felt that strange feeling of panic for the man who saved him with that throw.
In Bloodsoaked's hand was the detonator from earlier. Timing this right was key for him to get Chisaki to live through the impact. His eyes were zeroed in with the timing of the fall being calculated precisely inside his head. Right as he passed through the top of the pit, there was a cascade effect upon the entire facility that caused a panic to ensue amongst the heroes and officers.
The ground itself was starting to shake while wobbling like waves in the ocean. An evacuation order was issued immediately for every personnel member available. It was already confirmed that the entire facility was vacated of all living people, so it was a race to get off of and away from the collapsing facility.
Everybody made a break for the vehicles and ran from the impending destruction that was following them. It wasn't quite close enough to warrant any sort of worry, though that didn't detract from how obscenely wide the area that collapsed was. Almost a square kilometer was eliminated and wiped from the face of the earth in a mass collapse.
