Nine felt nothing but rage at the constant interference of Huntsman. Accepting the death of Mummy took every ounce of patience to tolerate. Now this motherfucker stood between him and his goal of becoming this world's new ruler.

He didn't have much time left with the power he was using. Killing Huntsman needed to be quick and efficient if he wanted to get the quirk he wanted from the brat.

Returning from the boys that were lying a safe distance away, Huntsman started to approach the villain with his three wolves following him. As Nine got ready to kill his new opponent, the air itself started to feel different. Like it suddenly became denser than water itself.

Each step taken towards Nine made the earth shake. Huntsman's wolves started to glow white as they all bared their golden fangs at the villain.

There was no need to wait for the tension to rise. Nine unleashed his power to the fullest and unleashed pure chaos all around him. A storm that struck the earth like the hammer of Thor shook the ground as Nine took aim at Huntsman.

In response to the display of power shown by Nine, Huntsman stopped to take a stance with his right arm cocked back. His middle finger stuck out as he finally broke his silence.

"Pierce."

Striking Nine in the abdomen was a single shot of air that went clean through his body. Looking back to Huntsman, Nine could see that the thing that caused his puncture wound was from the punch thrown at him. It didn't drop in power as the attack even sailed into the black clouds above and formed a tunnel through them.

Blood poured from the open wound. Screaming in pain, Nine tried to staunch the bleeding as the three wolves were not closing in on all sides.

Their speed left light streaks behind them as they all went in for the kill. By the skin of his teeth, Nine managed to create a dome around him before sending out a shockwave strong enough to shatter the rock he stood on. All three wolves went flying into the ground with sizable craters formed from where they landed. His troubles were far from over as now Huntsman started to wind up another punch.

"Disappear."

This punch hadn't been for Nine, but the clouds that were starting to accumulate above. Waves of force coned outwards and actually opened up the sky enough to reintroduce sunlight to the entire island.

That storm took quite a lot of effort on Nine's part to create in the first place. To watch it be snuffed out with just a single blow left the villain speechless.

The shockwave from that punch caused a few people from the cave sheltering the civilians to wonder what just happened. Sunlight started to pour through the mouth of the cavern through a now clear blue sky. Looking up at the clearing, the people who could see the sky found out that the black clouds were now retreating into the horizon.

If the storm couldn't do the job, then perhaps just going at it mano e mano would yield better results.

Huntsman suddenly disappeared from sight, only to reappear right in front of Nine with his arm up like he was going to chop the villain in two.

"Cut."

Several barriers went up to try and block the attack. Those shields met their end as a clean slice went straight through them. Nine felt his flesh split from his left collarbone to his right hip, leaving a clean wound that began to gush blood. Ocean behind Nine suddenly started to split off into the distance before causing a slash as the water filled in the empty space caused by the attack.

Now he was forced to backpedal away from his opponent. Flying back into the air allowed Nine to start firing purple lasers in a thick volley where Huntsman was. This didn't do much as now Huntsman launched himself with a single bound directly at the villain.

Some of the lasers did hit their mark, only to simply ricochet off of them while only destroying the clothes on his back. Catching Nine by the arm, he threw the villain straight into the beach that lined the western part of the island. The impact caused a massive explosion of water that was as tall as the island itself while shaking the earth with an impact of seven on the scale.

From out of the crater erupted multiple serpents that all zeroed in on the man still hanging midair. Landing on their mark created another explosion of smoke at the point of intersection.

Things were far from over. Running down the length of the serpents was a bolt of white lightning that outmaneuvered the additional projectiles that flew in its direction. Additional white lights erupted from out of the forest to join that specific light in approaching where Nine was trying to fend off his attackers. Another impact strong enough to push back the ocean by almost a kilometer from shore hit Nine dead center from where he stood. Before the water could recede back towards land, a single shockwave crashed over the island and shook the trees as something shot straight up from the enlarged crater.

It had been Nine that got uppercut hard enough to fly above the height the clouds would have been if they hadn't been blown away earlier. He was looking beaten to hell after being shot, sliced, and beaten within an inch of his life.

Back on the ground, Huntsman looked to the heavens as Nine regained consciousness. Falling from the height he was at gave the villain ample time to collect himself enough to know that Huntsman was right below him. Wind whipped around the long silver locks that grew from Nine's scalp as he took aim downwards at the center of the crater below.

Like a hailstorm, Nine unloaded anything and everything he had left in the tank to get rid of this obstacle in his way. As the attacks came pouring down from above, Huntsman decided that it would be better to simply end things here. Crouching down allowed him to muscle up the ideal amount of force to produce the next attack. His fist tightened into a ball while his arm bent back as far as possible.

Bolts of white lightning arced outwards and melted the sand that created the crater he stood in. Water flooded back in as it came close to reaching Huntsman in the center of the pit. Before it could make contact, a single attack that he created just then repelled the water back further than where it was originally pushed back. In fact, water all around the island started to edge away when the punch was thrown.

"United Nations of…"

Unleashing that much power in a single moment had never been reached by any quirk user in history. The trees all creaked and moaned at the strain that the wind caused. The rock formations started to crack at the unrelenting force pressing down on them. Even the oceans couldn't push back against the power of this one strike.

"SMASH!"

Every single attack launched downwards evaporated into nothingness as the blow launched from Huntsman swallowed everything in its path. In a panic, Nine produced shield after shield in front of him to at least try to survive the incoming wave of death.

Each shield popped like a soap bubble one after another. It didn't even slow down the incoming destruction by the slightest bit. All that was left for Nine were the last brief seconds before he would meet an end similar to that of his shields.

"FFUUUUUUUU-"

His death cries disappeared into the void, like every cell in his body did as he was eaten alive by the sheer power of that one attack. After all that pain. After all that struggle. Not even a memory remained of the man who claimed to be the world's next ruler.

In a twist of cruel fate; the individual already well on their way towards that goal had been the one to send Nine off to their death.

Back on the ground, the attack had left all clothing below his hips intact. The meshed helmet that had been disguising him during the whole affair cracked and crumbled away to reveal white hair and a beard.

"Hm, can't say that this so-called 'power' is all that."

Shrugging at the sentiment, Haru began his return trip to where he left the two boys he left behind at the top of the ruins. He still had one last thing to do before he left.

Later

Coming up to where they still were, Haru felt relieved that Katsuki and Izuku were still where he left them. He approached with the three trained animals that he commanded as he knelt next to Izuku. It deeply hurt the man to see the children he valued dearly lie there with wounds that no boy of their age should ever have to experience. He gently took Izuku's intact hand and spotted a cut where he could place his still open cut on.

Putting back One for All where it belonged wasn't entirely a pleasant experience for the man. Had he had his way, this power would be launched to the bottom of the ocean without hesitation. It wasn't his place to decide such things at the end of the day, however.

He put his hand back down and just took in Izuku's sleeping face. Brushing away the hair in front of Izuku's eyes was all he could do as he felt his heart ache for the child he saw as his own. Katsuki had also been his responsibility; a responsibility he still felt he failed to manage constantly. Masara would be at his neck with the failure of protecting his son.

"... I'm so sorry, you two. If only I was better than this…"

Time was short for the man who watched over these two. There were footsteps coming towards him and he now lacked his disguise. The jacket was gently removed from underneath the two unconscious boys and returned to its owner's back. Pulling the hood and keeping his back turned would be more than enough as Haru made his exit.

From around the corner, Katsuma and Mahoro were the first to find Izuku and Bakugou along with the man who saved them. He had his back turned, so they still didn't know who he was.

Right as he started walking away with his furry companions, Katsuma called out to the man.

"Wait!"

Stopping for a moment, Haru heard the last thing the boy wished to tell him before he left the island.

"... Ummm… T-thank you for saving us!"

Before he started to walk away again, a thumbs up on Haru's outstretched arm gave the boy hope that perhaps they would see each other again in the future. With that, the man walked off into the distance with the sun shining brightly down on him.

Some Time Later

Coming out of the black void of dreamless sleep, Izuku felt like death as the aches and pains started to resurface. Light started to leak back into his eyes as he started to come to. No surprise, he was in a hospital room on Nabu Island.

Scanning around the room with his eyes, immediately visible to him was the pink girl sleeping at his bedside with her head on the sheets. Seeing the bandages around her head worried Izuku enough for him to touch them with the gentlest touch he could manage. The sensation of touch on her still tender injuries through the bandages woke Mina up from her deep slumber. She was far from upset as now Izuku had woken up from his own sleep.

"... Hey."

"... Hey."

Izuku patted the space beside him, silently asking Mina to come join him on the mattress. She still wore her hospital gown as both readjusted a little before getting comfy on the bed.

Mina had her head resting on Izuku's right shoulder while he had his arm wrapped around her back. Being like this never got old for the teenage couple. Something that still bothered Izuku was the head injury he saw that Mina gained from the fight. Her previous concussion brought some concern to Midoriya regarding the possibility of lasting damage.

"Are you okay? Does this still hurt?"

"They said there's nothing to be worried about. If anything, you were the one who got the worst of it."

Not much else needed to be said about the matter. Izuku's apology was addressed by Mina as not necessary. She knew what happened and was glad that Izuku was still alive and well. Neither wanted to move from that spot, so they just remained there until the next visitor arrived in the room.

"Daaad! Izuku's awake!"

Eri had stumbled upon the teens cuddling on the bed some time later in the day. Mina and Izuku were a bit embarrassed at the young girl that happened to catch them during an intimate moment. Entering the room, Inko and Haru arrived to see that the youngest Midoriya finally woke up.

The mother was beside herself as she hugged her darling boy with tears in her eyes. Haru offered his sympathies and told the boy how happy he was that Izuku still had his faculties about him. Eri just leapt up on the bed and snuggled with her big brother like any loving child would with their older sibling.

Inko even checked over Mina and hugged the girl for dear life over what had happened. She loved the girl like she was her own and even told Mina that her future daughter in law meant a great deal to her already. This filled Mina's heart with admiration for the mother of the man she knew to be the one.

The rest of the day had all sorts of visitors stopping by to check up on the teenage boy. Bakugou came in and silently messed around on his phone next to Mina and said only one thing to Midoriya the entire time he was there.

"Glad you're okay, stupid."

Another step towards becoming the friends Izuku wanted to be with Katsuki. It was a comfortable silence as Mina just ignored Bakugou for the most part. Though it was subtle, Izuku could feel a great deal of stress gone between these former enemies. For the most part, it actually made him glad that they didn't feel like two feral cats about to fight anymore.

Other classmates visited and expressed their relief that Izuku returned to the land of the living. Being out for an entire day made everyone a little uneasy for Midoriya. He put them all at ease and even spent time talking with all of them.

Others like Momo and Kyoka were a bit different in their interactions. They started to cry as they expressed their relief that the man they loved had finally woken up from his temporary coma. Both of them kissed the daylights out of him before they just lazed around together as the original quartet. Eventually, Mina left with the others to go and catch up on gossip. Next to visit the boy was Ochaco.

Her relief to see him up and about made itself known to him with a deepened kiss that both took their sweet time tasting. It was Izuku who told Ochaco that her almost killing herself to help him against Nine scared him to death. She knew how much Izuku cared about her, so she apologized out of genuine heartache.

These two made up well enough. Tsuyu came in around the afternoon to just snuggle with Midoriya. Not a lot was said between them, but they still cherished the time they shared. Her soft figure certainly made it easy for Izuku to try and mold the girl up against him for as much physical contact as possible.

Toru entered the room around the evening. Lacking the usual bubbly energy made it clear that she had a lot on her mind concerning Izuku. He hugged her as she just silently wept against him.

Realizing that Izuku could have died put a lot of stress on the girl for the past two days. Getting attached romantically did a lot to a person, and someone who was relatively new to things like this could sometimes feel a little overwhelmed sometimes.

With patience in his mind and love in his heart, Izuku reassured the invisible girl that he wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. They even spent the night sleeping in the same bed with one another.

With his injuries, that was the extent of what Izuku could do with any of his girlfriends at the moment.

The Next Day

All Might visited Izuku during the morning of that day. He knew of all the people that wanted to visit him, so he waited to give them their fair chance before he came to talk to Midoriya. It was a sentiment very much appreciated by Izuku after the amount of visits he received yesterday.

What All Might wanted to talk to Izuku about was what happened from the boy's perspective. From there, Izuku revealed something that actually startled the retired hero.

He told All Might that he shared One for All with a complete stranger.

Midoriya had the foresight to tell All Might that he still felt One for All inside of him in its full power. Turns out the man he gave the quirk to returned it to him right after the fight.

Although he had his reservations, All Might let the matter go since Izuku's judgment ended up paying off in the end. Be that as it may, the retired hero still told Izuku of the quirk that was passed down to him and how introducing a new face to it had its risks in the long run. Becoming an inheritor would likely add all sorts of strange factors that could lead to unexpected consequences that nobody could be ready for.

Given the lack of actual information, the meeting was short but sweet. All Might waved goodbye to Izuku and left the boy to his thoughts. For the most part, Izuku felt no different than before. Only now he had questions regarding how things kept happening for the past year or so.

Every time something happened around him, someone was there to help him out. It happened with enough frequency that Izuku felt a little bothered about it.

I-Island, Bloodsoaked, and now this. Something didn't add up for the boy for him to simply dismiss this all as nothing but coincidence.

Whatever it was, he would have to start treading carefully from now on.

Elsewhere

Hawk had been on the island alongside his current family for about three days now. Eri was up on his shoulders as he flew just above the trees to show his little sister the wonder of nature from up above. His father sat with Inko on a park bench while the two siblings enjoyed each other's company.

Taking a trip to the island after hearing about Izuku was a no-brainer for everyone there. Only after they checked up on Izuku after he woke up were they all able to relax enough to enjoy the scenery.

Inko took Eri down to the cove nearby, allowing Haru and Keigo to go over some information privately with one another.

"Any developments on the subject?"

Haru simply pulled out his phone to show all the information he had on Nine before he killed him. Hawk sat next to his dad in cargo shorts and a white shirt with leather sandals while he scanned the screen with his eyes. He returned the mobile after getting the most crucial details from the reports his dad recorded.

"Could be worse. At least the guy didn't fly out of the cuckoo nest."

"Hm."

Both father and son just admired the sea from where they sat as the ocean breeze kept the temperature nice and mild. The silence was broken by Hawk adding one last comment over his own thoughts on the matter.

"Are you gonna be okay, dad? I know you think about it a lot, but I just want to let you know that you can rely on me to help."

"... I know."

They returned to silence until the girls returned from their girls only excursion. Eri gave her dad and brother a shiny shell each and revealed two shells that she got for herself and Inko. Haru wasted no time in turning those shells into necklaces for them all. A fifth shell was reserved just for Izuku when he got out of the hospital, which Eri was super excited to give to her other big brother.
