Maxiley vs Kahuna Olivia.
"So, Double D; which island do we go to next?" asked Eddy. Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex and brings up the map app.
"It appears the closest island is Ula'ula Island." replied Edd.
"Oh boy; I can't wait to go there and find more Pokemon." said Ed.
"Me, too." said Sarah. Kahuna Olivia walks over to Lillie.
"Are you here to challenge me?" Kahuna Olivia asked Lillie.
"Oh, no. I came because of Nebby." replied Lillie. "It's not from around here, and I want to help it get back to its home, but I don't know how to do it."
"I'm sure Professor Kukui and Burnet will help you figure it out." said Edd. Kahuna Olivia then turned towards Maxiley, but a surprised look appears on her face when she sees something behind him. Maxiley turned to see the pink Pokemon that was watching the group leave Konikoni City floating in front of him.
"Why, it's Tapu Lele." said Kahuna Olivia.
"The guardian deity of Akala Island?" asked Maxiley. Tapu Lele floats over to Maxiley and holds out a brown Sparkling Stone to him.
"Why, that's a Sparkling Stone." said Kahuna Olivia. Maxiley looks at it, then at Tapu Lele, who nods at him. Maxiley looks at the Sparkling Stone and takes it. Everyone looks at it, then look up to see Tapu Lele gone.
"Hey; where did it go?" asked Eddy. Kahuna Olivia walks over to Maxiley.
"Excuse me, young man; but are you taking the Island Challenge?" asked Kahuna Olivia.
"No, ma'am; I'm just training to beat Mask Royal." replied Maxiley.
"That's quite the goal. How would you like me to turn your Sparkling Stone into a Z-Ring, as well as give you a chance to earn your own Rockium-Z?" said Kahuna Olivia.
"Really?!" asked Maxiley.
"Yes, but only if you can beat me in a battle tomorrow." said Kahuna Hala. "My Pokemon did enough battling today, and I want them to rest."
"Sure." said Maxiley. "It'll give me time to train my Pokemon." The group then leave the Ruins of Life area and began heading towards Konikoni City so Eddy can have his Poliwrath and Leafeon healed at the Pokemon Center.
"This is great, Maxiley; you have a chance to have a Z-Ring like the rest of us." said Sarah, showing Maxiley her Z-Ring.
"But only if I can beat Kahuna Hala." replied Maxiley.
"Perhaps we can assist you with training your Pokemon." said Edd.
"Really? That'd be great." said Maxiley. The group arrived at Konikoni City and went to the Pokemon Center. After Eddy gives the nurse his Pokemon, the group went to the cafeteria for dinner.
"So, Maxiley, any idea what Pokemon you plan to use against Kahuna Olivia tomorrow?" asked Edd.
"Since Kahuna Olivia uses rock type Pokemon, Vaporeon, Crabrawler, and Phantump are definitely my best choices." replied Maxiley.
"But you only caught Phantump today; it would be wise to spend most of your time training her before your battle." said Edd.
"Sure, Double D." said Maxiley.
The next morning, after breakfast and Eddy picking up his Pokemon, the group leaves Konikoni City and arrived at the Akala Outskirts to help Maxiley train his Pokemon. Soon, his Phantump learned Leech Seed, Curse, and Will-O-Wisp; his other Pokemon also got stronger. Jimmy also lets Maxiley use the Brick Break TM on Crabrawler.
Later at the Ruins of Life, the group arrive there where Kahuna Olivia was waiting.
"Are you ready for our battle, Maxiley?" asked Kahuna Olivia.
"As I'll ever be." replied Maxiley.
"Remember; you have to defeat me if you want me to turn your Sparkling Stone into a Z-Ring, as well as earn a Rockium-Z." said Kahuna Olivia. She and Maxiley each pull out a pokeball. "Anorith, go!" Kahuna Olivia tosses Anorith's pokeball and releases it.
"Vaporeon, go!" said Maxiley, throwing Vaporeon's pokeball and releasing him. "Vaporeon, Water Pulse!" Vaporeon forms a ball of water in front of his mouth, and he launches it at Anorith, dealing super effective damage, and thanks to Vaporeon's Wave Incense, Water Pulse was much stronger.
"Anorith, Bug Bite!" said Kahuna Olivia. Anorith lunges at Vaporeon and bites him, dealing damage.
"Vaporeon, Water Gun!" said Maxiley. Vaporeon fires a stream of water from his mouth, and it hits Anorith, dealing super effective damage to it.
"Anorith, Bug Bite!" said Kahuna Olivia. Anorith lunges at Vaporeon.
"Acid Armor!" said Maxiley. Vaporeon becomes surrounded by a purple energy and his defense increases before Anorith bites him, dealing minor damage to him. "Now use Water Pulse." Vaporeon launches another ball of water point blank at Anorith, hitting it and knocking it out.
"Way to go, Maxiley!" said Eddy.
"You're doing great!" said Ed. Kahuna Olivia returns Anorith to its pokeball.
"You did well, Anorith." said Kahuna Olivia. She puts Anorith's pokeball away and takes out another pokeball. "Lileep, go!" She tosses Lileep's pokeball and releases it.
"Vaporeon, Aurora Beam!" said Maxiley. Vaporeon fires a mulit-colored beam of energy from his mouth, and it hits Lileep, dealing super effective damage and weakening its attack strength.
"Since Lileep's part grass, it's weak against ice type moves." said Edd.
"Keep going, Maxiley!" said Sarah.
"Giga Drain!" said Kahuna Olivia. Lileep's tentacles glow green, and they extend towards Vaporeon and wrap around him, draining his energy and healing some of its wounds. Vaporeon struggles to stay on his feet.
"Sand Attack!" said Maxiley. Vaporeon turns and kicks sand into Lileep's eyes with his hind legs.
"Giga Drain!" said Kahuna Olivia. Lileep extends its tentacles at Vaporeon, but it misses due to its accuracy being lowered.
"Aurora Beam!" said Maxiley. Vaporeon fires another multi-colored beam of energy, and it hits Lileep, dealing super effective damage.
"Giga Drain!" said Kahuna Olivia. Lileep was able to wrap its tentacles around Vaporeon and drain his remaining energy, knocking him out and healing only a little of Lileep's wounds. "Excellent work, Lileep."
"Don't give up, Maxiley!" said Jimmy.
"You can do it!" said Sarah. Maxiley returns Vaporeon to his pokeball.
"You were great, Vaporeon." said Maxiley. He puts Vaporeon's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Crabrawler, go!" He tosses Crabrawler's pokeball and releases him. "Okay, Crabrawler, use Rock Smash!" Crabrawler jumps at Lileep while raising his right pincer and smashes it onto Lileep, dealing super effective damage and weakening its defense.
"Lileep, Giga Drain!" said Kahuna Olivia. Lileep tries to use Giga Drain on Crabrawler, but misses due to its accuracy being lowered by Vaporeon's Sand Attack.
"Crabrawler, Power-Up Punch!" said Maxiley. Crabrawler's pincer becomes surrounded by an orange aura and he punches Lileep with it, knocking it out. Crabrawler becomes surrounded by an orange aura and his strength increases.
"You're doing great, Maxiley!" said Ed.
"Just one more to go!" said Jimmy. Kahuna Olivia returns Lileep to its pokeball.
"You earned a rest, Lileep." said Kahuna Olivia. She puts Lileep's pokeball away. "You're doing really well, Maxiley; but you still have to beat my final Pokemon." Kahuna Olivia pulls out a pokeball. "Lycanroc, go!" She throws Lycanroc's pokeball and releases it. "Lycanroc, Rock Tomb!" Lycanroc becomes surrounded by white energy and gray rocks form above it; it launches them at Crabrawler and hits it, not doing much damage but lowered Crabrawler's speed.
"Crabrawler, Rock Smash!" said Maxiley. Crabrawler jumps towards Lycanroc with his right pincer raised and hits Lycanroc with it, dealing super effective damage, and weakening Lycanroc's defense. It did more damage due to Crabrawler's attack being increased from Power-Up Punch. Kahuna Olivia then raises her arm, revealing her Z-Ring with the Rockium Z-Crystal that had the image of a rock in it. Kahuna Olivia does a series of poses and channels energy onto Lycanroc and the Z-Power symbol appears.
"Lycanroc, Continental Crush!" said Kahuna Olivia. Lycanroc jumps into the air and summons large rocks that form together to form a huge boulder; Lycanroc hurls the boulder at Crabrawler and it crashes onto him. When the dust from the attack cleared, Crabrawler was shown to be standing.
"Okay, Crabrawler; Brick Break!" said Maxiley. Crabrawler jumps at Lycanroc and smashes his pincer onto it, dealing super effective damage to it. Lycanroc struggles to stay on its feet.
"Lycanroc, use Tackle!" said Kahuna Olivia. Lycanroc runs at Crabrawler and rams him, knocking him to the ground, but he gets back up.
"Bubble Beam!" said Maxiley. Crabrawler holds out his right pincer towards Lycanroc and fires a beam of glowing bubbles out of it and it hits Lycanroc, knocking it out.
"We did it, Crabrawler!" said Maxiley. Crabrawler raises his pincers in victory. The rest of the group cheered.
"Maxiley won!" said Sarah.
"He did exceptionally well." said Edd.
"He did good." said Ed.
"Way to go, Maxiley." said Eddy. Kahuna Olivia returns Lycanroc to its pokeball.
"I'm proud of you, Lycanroc." said Kahuna Olivia. She puts Lycanroc's pokeball away and walks to Maxiley. "You did an excellent job raising your Pokemon."
"I had help." said Maxiley, looking at the Eds, Sarah, and Jimmy. Kahuna Olivia holds out a hand.
"I'll turn your Sparkling Stone into a Z-Ring and I'll give it to you, complete with a Rockium-Z." said Kahuna Olivia.
"Thanks." replied Maxiley. He gives his Sparkling Stone to Kahuna Olivia, and she walks off.
Now that Maxiley has defeated Kahuna Olivia, he will soon receive his own Z-Ring, which may increase his chance on defeating Mask Royal.
Meanwhile, on the fishing boat Eddy's brother was on; two fishermen were using a crane to pull up a net full of crabs; Eddy's brother was pacing around the deck of the boat.
"Man; how long do I have to wait to get to Alola?" asked Eddy's brother. The net was hanging above Eddy's brother when a rope on the net breaks apart and it opens up, spilling all the crabs onto him. He was running around the deck, screaming while several crabs were pinching one of his eyelids, his nose, both his ears, one of his fingers, his tongue, even the part of his butt where the baby shark bit him. He didn't look where he was going and falls over the railing of the boat and falls into the ocean. He surfaces up from the water just as a life preserver hits him on the head again.
