Chapter eleven:
At school Haruhi feels less stares with Bianca sticking close to her as well as also likely having the cap on that magic helping her too. She actually is relieved for this as the looks sometimes did bother her from her studies. She settles down in her chair and she tries to get a little extra studying done.
The teacher comes in and before she begins the lesson she announces that there is a reminder of an event. "There is the school physical health exam next week. I hope you all haven't forgotten. Prepare for that as classes will even be paused for the day for the exam. Also there will be no magic allowed to be used. A spell will be placed to prevent magic from being used there. That is just a reminder so none of you try anything funny. Now then. Let us get to our lesson."
Haruhi blinks as she is slipped a note by Hikaru while the teacher isn't looking. She opens it and reads whats on there.
The physical exam also includes a part where the girls will flock to get a look at the host club members. It is considered an extra club activity in order to even try to get new customers. Tamaki and Kyouya are already planning to try to see what can be done about your situation.
Haruhi cannot focus as she realizes something. She is meant to be seen as a boy however this could reveal her secret of actually being female. She lowers her head feeling like everything is going to come crashing down.
Haruhi.
Haruhi snaps her head upwards then glances over her shoulder to Bianca who stands there staring with a calm expression clearly trying to not get attention. She can't believe she heard the Hellhound's voice in her head. She nods softly in encouragement.
You can tell me what troubles you.
Haruhi lets out a breath and slightly glances away. She thinks of a response to see if Bianca can hear her.
The exam. I will be exposed as a girl. This is going to be bad news. I don't know what they are going to do about this.
Haruhi glances back to Bianca when she hears a soft hum of thought.
Bianca thinks things over before sending a reply to Haruhi's head.
Only certain demons can hide certain parts of someone's body. Usually they can only do this with their own bodies. There is the issue of the no magic allowed thing. Surely there has to be a way to bypass it. There is a master of illusions you could visit. Well a family member of that family. Nekozawa. He goes deep into magic, spells and rituals. So if anyone in this school will know what to do then he might know. I can take you to him if you'd like later.
Yes please.
Haruhi does feel more relaxed after confirming to her Hellhound that she would like for that to happen.
During lunch…
Haruhi leaves her classroom following Bianca through the halls to go find this Nekozawa. She pauses when they come to an eerie room that is dark and the outside is decorated with hanging cat dolls as well as various symbols. She feels like she could catch a curse just by looking at this place.
"Are you sure you'd still like to do this? I will protect you." Bianca offers looking to Haruhi to make sure that the human is okay with this.
Haruhi takes a moment to calm herself a bit which is helped as she feels Bianca sending calming vibes her way. She is about to say that she is ready when she hears a female voice call her name. She turns noticing a group of three girls heading her way with gentle smiles on their faces. "Hold on Bianca." She is curious about what these girls could want. She turns to face them as they stop at a comfortable distance to talk like good friends. "Hello there. How can I help you?"
"We wanted to tell you something. Something important." The girl in the middle steps forward with her curled brown hair bouncing lightly. She has her demon parts hidden like the others on either side of her. She smiles a little more as Haruhi blinks at her curious as to what is needed to be told to her. "We realized that you were nervous about the exam. And we know why. It is because you're a girl."
"What?" Haruhi is in shock that they actually know. "You know?"
"We always knew." The girl to the right corrects a still stunned Haruhi. "We are demons. Normal humans might have trouble sure. Just not demons."
Haruhi finds one burning question in her mind. "Then why did you come to me in the host club activity?" She almost wants to take it back figuring that it must be a stupid question. She probably attracted them by the magic inside of her. She however finds that they give her an unexpected answer to her question.
"Actually those that go to you are either Bi, or even lesbian, or they want to try to lose themselves into the illusion that you are a boy trying to attract them. Knowing that you are secretly a girl really helps some get lost into the illusion of it all better than the other host club members."
"No one said anything because we wanted you to be comfortable with what was happening. Plus there was something captivating about you. There is some saying that it is because you are a human in a demon school. Making you a lot more interesting to the demons who go to school here."
"When the exam was brought up I noticed that during class you were a bit destressed. So I brought it up to my friends here and we decided to say something to try to help you calm down. The school will understand if you would rather do things privately using you being a human as an excuse. Demons are more showy to each other than humans are. So it won't even be seen as weird. Just a suggestion though. You'll still get admired even if you di it publicly letting you being a girl be shown."
Haruhi finds herself staring at the three not even sure what to say for a few moments. She takes a few moments to gather herself while the girls wait patiently for her response. She smiles to them relieved. "Thank you so much. I really appreciate your gesture. I will see what I am more comfortable with."
The girls dip their heads with happy smiles then they head off on their own ways.
Haruhi turns to Bianca sharing a smile with her. "Guess we won't need Nekozawa." She sees Bianca nod her head with a smile. She is about to head off with her Hellhound when someone calls out to her. She turns the opposite direction from where the girls came only to see Kyouya heading over to her.
Kyouya slows to a pause. He glances to Bianca before turning to look at Haruhi. "Haruhi I have some good news. We will be able to get the magic out of you this Saturday if you still want it out of your system that is. If you leave the host club afterwards you won't have to worry about the exam."
Haruhi finds herself realizing that she has a big choice before herself with this. She will get the magic out. However she now has to decide what to do after that. She could leave the host club and do her own thing pretending nothing ever happened. She could also stay with the host club and decide how she wants to do the exam. She also thinks that Tamaki at least would try something to try to cover up her true gender despite that it doesn't matter. She tries to think of how to answer since she is on the fence about whether to stay with the club or leave. She has actually come to enjoy the family like place that the host club has created. She also feels like they are giving her so much that someone could argue she is in a way taking advantage of them. So she partially does want to leave to stop them from feeling like they have to give her anything else. She will keep Bianca no matter what happens since she'll feel like the worst human being if she abandons the Hellhound. She tries to come up with a response knowing that Kyouya is waiting for one.
