This is like an alternate universe where Gwen was in the Killer Grips instead

Day 1: Scream

Two weeks into the camp and Gwen had already despised everyone. In fact, she hated all of them ever since the first day—except for maybe Trent. But her measly liking for Trent couldn't even compare to her resentment towardsHeatherandDuncan. Each time she tried to find time to relax, it was always either one of the two who kept coming to irritate her.

At times, Gwen wishes she hadn't switched teams. If she didn't do that, she would've not been on Duncan's list on people to annoy. Although, it didn't matter if Gwen moved teams, she would always still be tormented by Heather and her antics. Gwen had no idea why, but Heather had always held a grudge against her. And denying the popular beliefs, Gwen and Duncan didnotget along.

Today was the challenge day where teams were assigned different camp locations and had to survive in the woods with the map they were given.

The sun started setting and Gwen wondered if Duncan could ever stop talking. All throughout the walk, he had been peering over her shoulder since she had the map and been making witty remarks about her navigation skills. Not only that but he was doing anything to enrage her by poking fun at her. However, Gwen has a younger brother. She was used to this and managed to maintain her patience by pretending he didn't exist... and throwing sticks at him and stomping on his foot.

Finally, the Killer Bass all crowded around, sitting on logs pieces, circling around the warm campfire and started sharing some of their most memorable experiences.

"... And that was how I took on that bear, bare-handed." Duncan stated, finishing off his story. Once he finished the story, he noticed Gwen, who was sitting next to him, adjust her position on the little log. He grinned as he faced Gwen. "Scared Sweetheart? I could let you hold onto my hand if you need assurance."

Gwen rolled her eyes in return as she let out a scoff. "Scared? Oh please, I'd much rather handle it on my own than use your help."

In amusement, Duncan shifted himself on the log to completely face Gwen as he flashed a smug grin and leaned in. "Oh really? Wanna see how long you would last alone in the forest until you come back to me?" He taunted, raising an eyebrow.

The other campers watched in anticipation until DJ interjected. "Uh guys, I don't think that's a good-"

"Deal!" Gwen huffed, crossing her legs in the process. "But just so you know, I won't be the one losing to this little game of yours."

The two stood up, glaring down at each other as Bridgette and Tyler exchanged worried glances before Bridgette halted up. "Guys, you don't need to do this, you know. Let's just go back to the good vibes again." She stated, wavering her hands up.

"Yeah dudes, let's share some scary stories now." Geoff added.

"Not unless Duncan here is too chicken." Gwen claimed, elbowing Duncan.

Duncan, who was now gripping onto his ribs chuckled as he cocked an eyebrow up in amusement. "Chicken? You wanna show how it's done then?"

"I am going to show you how it's done." Gwen retorted, crossing her arms. "Aw, are you too scared to go on your alone to the woods? If you're lucky, I might let you hold my hand if you get too scared."

After a couple of back and fourth insults from Gwen and Duncan, they decided that they would head their separate ways and see who lasts the longest away from the camp—much to their team's protests and pleads. The two were stuck on the deal and didn't bother about about all the hazards the forrest could've had. Whoever goes back to the others first has to owe the other dessert for the next couple of weeks. They were determined now with that deal.

Please be no bear. Please be no internally pleaded as she wandered around the forrest. It had already been an hour in the forrest and she was going strong. She was hoping she wouldcoincidentlybump into the other team and get to join them.

As she was cautiously watching her steps, walking backwards in case a bear was to be spotted. Instead, she bumped into something.

"AAH!" Gwen and some other person simultaneously screamed as they turned around to face each other. Once they met each other's eyes, they instantly groaned. "You..."

Duncan crossed his arms as he looked down at her. "I'm surprised you lasted here this long. Guess I underestimated you." He claimed. "Expected you to go back the moment you stepped into the forrest."

"Very funny. Well I was hoping you would get eaten by a bear. At least there would be some peace and quiet." Gwen retaliated, placing a hand on her hip.

"You'd miss me too much." Duncan shot back. "Plus, I'm the one who's bringing all the wins to the team so if I'm gone, you'd probably be the next to go home."

Gwen rolled her eyes in annoyance as she kept her permanent frown on her face. "Oh yes, that is exactly what's stopping you from getting mauled from a bear, because I'll miss you too much. How'd you figure it out?" Gwen sarcastically commented.

"I'm not just good looks, Sweetheart. I'm the whole package." Duncan quipped.

"Good looks? Well that's a stretch." Gwen mumbled.

Before Duncan could retort back, the two heard a noise. One too familiar one. A bear. The bear emerged from the trees as the bear spotted the two staring back. The two slowly glanced back at each other before Duncan yelled a 'Run!' and the two sprinted off. Fortunately, the bear didn't chase after Gwen and Duncan as the bear was too busy with two girls sleeping in his cave.

After running for a while, the two finally stopped and kneeled over to catch their breaths.

"That was close." Duncan muttered, before taking deep breaths in from the sprint he just did.

Finally, after catching their breaths, Gwen raised an eyebrow and stared at Duncan suspiciously. "I thought you single handedly fought a bear. Where was that energy this time?"

Duncan looked away as he scratched his ."Well... I... uh, didn't want to um... scare you away from the fight so I..."

"Uh-huh, sure Duncan." Gwen interrupted as a yawn escaped her lips. "I'm going to sleep." She said as she found herself a comfortable spot on the grass and stared at the stars. Duncan joined her as he watched Gwen admire the stars. The two watched in peaceful silence as they stared up at the stars."What's your favourite constellation?"

"What's a constellation?" Duncan questioned, still staring at Gwen.

"It's like shapes a star makes. Like... look! That's the Orion and... I think that's Ursa Major." Gwen explained, moving her hand to point at the stars. She faced Duncan. "Oh and that one looks like DJ's bunny. You see it?"

Duncan squinted his eyes as he tried to figure out how a bunch of stars somehow magically formed a bunny. "I don't see it." He blatantly said.

The rest of the night, the two continued talking about stars and constellations. This was the one time Gwen found Duncan as a decent person and not as the most annoying person. Slowly, as the stars started leaving, Gwen and Duncan were finally able to start falling asleep.

It was the following morning when the two started emerging from their sleep. They were surprised to see their position. Duncan had his arms draped around Gwen as Gwen was comfortably snuggled against Duncan. Duncan's face was placed on Gwen's bushy hair. It was a very awkward awakening as they realised their position.

"Duncan? Could you remove your hand off me?" Gwen inquired.

"Oh right." Duncan stated, removing his arms which were originally wrapped around Gwen. The two stood up and gazed at each other in silence. Awkward silence. "Wanna try and find our way back to camp?"

Gwen nodded in agreement as the two started their journey in finding their team again.

It had been another couple of hours of the challenge and instead of finding their team, Gwen and Duncan found their way back to the finish line and they were the first ones. Except they needed their team to come as well to win the challenge do they didn't know whether they would win or lose.

"We might not lose this challenge. Maybe they're almost here." Gwen stated, trying to lighten up the situation before the Killer Grips ran to the finish line. "... Or not."

Duncan and Gwen frowned at their team as he leaned down to talk to Gwen. "At least we know we're not the ones to get the boot next." He remarked since him and Gwen made it to the finish line before the rest of the team.
