So I was listening to the amazing Marry Me Suite from Pirates of the Carribean when this idea came into my head. Enjoy!
It was a rather stormy day on the Island of Sodor, as the cool autumn air finally took its place from the summer warmth, bringing with it stormy weather. A rather nasty system was rolling in as Gordon sat at Brendam Docks waiting for it to pass. The wind had begun to pick up and rapidly intensify as the greying sky indicated that it would not relinquish or relent any time soon. They were in for a big, nasty system, rapidly approaching.
The swells rapidly picked up. Gordon, stoic as he was, couldn't help but worry a little. His driver and fireman had seeked shelter inside the workmans hut. At least he knew his crew was safe. Just then Salty pulled up beside him.
"We're in for a big one alright." He said in his scraggly voice, foraged by the sea.
Before Gordon could say anything, he heard a familiar whistle followed by the sight of a familiar pink streamlined American engine.
"Looks like I made it just in time." Caitlin panted as her crew too ran for cover. Gordon breathed a sigh of relief knowing that his longtime girlfriend was safe and stood before him unharmed. Just then the tide surged against them.
"Geez!" Salty yelped, barely audible against the high wind.
Despite putting on a brave face, Caitlin could tell Gordon was scared. As their relationship progressed, Caitlin had learned to see through Gordons tough exterior and into his brave heart. Caitlin looked into the eyes of the big blue engine in front of her as the tides surge continued to wreak havoc against them. Salty told stories and sung sea shanties of love.
"I SEE YOUR BRAVE FACE MY DEAREST BUT I CAN TELL YOU'RE FRIGHTENED!" Caitlin shouted over the loud wind as another wave battered them.
Gordon said nothing and instead frowned, letting down his facade of being brave all the time. He looked into his lovers eyes, wide with fear and the wind howled loudly. After a moment Caitlin continued.
"NEED NOT BE AFRAID MY LOVE, FOR I AM HERE WITH YOU SHALL WEATHER THIS STORM AS ONE AND ALL FUTURE STORMS WE FACE TOGETHER! THIS I PROMISE YOU!" Caitlin continued as the storm surge sprayed them again.
This time Gordon responded.
"OH CAITLIN..." He boomed over the wind.
"MARRY ME, CAITLIN! RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!" He shouted as yet another wave splashed fiercely against the shore, coating the three of them in salty sea water.
"OH GORDON..." Caitlin shouted happily, tears of joy welling in her eyes.
"SALTY, MARRY US!" Gordon cried out above the howling wind
"Er...Um..." Salty hesitated for a moment to collect his thoughts. His crew stood silently in his cab, as they weren't afraid of some wind and rain.
"ALRIGHT! SHALL WE BEGIN?" Salty shouted. His crew nodded and whispered among themselves.
"DO YOU, CAITLIN OF THE NORTHWESTERN RAILWAY, TAKE GORDON TO BE YOUR HUSBAND?" Salty continued.
"I DO!" Caitlin shouted happily above the wind
"AND DO YOU, GORDON OF THE NORTHWESTERN RAILWAY, TAKE CAITLIN TO BE YOUR WIFE?" Salty shouted as yet another surge hit.
"I DO." Boomed Gordon proudly.
"FOLLOW MY LEAD, CAITLIN! REPEAT AFTER ME MY FRIEND!" Salty continued. He paused momentarily as they were once again heavily sprayed by sea water.
"I, CAITLIN OF THE NORTHWESTERN RAILWAY..." Salty shouted.
"I, CAITLIN OF THE NORTHWESTERN RAILWAY..." Caitlin followed.
"TAKE YOU, GORDON..." Salty shouted.
"TAKE YOU GORDON..." Caitlin followed as another surging wave sprayed them.
"TO BE MY HUSBAND..." Salty shouted.
"TO BE MY HUSBAND..." Caitlin followed.
"MY CONSTANT BEST FRIEND..." Salty continued.
"MY CONSTANT BEST FRIEND..." Caitlin repeated.
"MY FAITHFUL PARTNER..." Salty shouted.
"MY FAITHFUL PARTNER..." Caitlin repeated.
"AND MY BELOVED FROM THIS DAY FORWARD..." Salty shouted.
"AND MY BELOVED FROM THIS DAY FORWARD..." Caitlin repeated, afraid from the storm but nevertheless overjoyed to be here in this moment.
"IN THE PRESANCE OF THOSE HERE TO WITNESS..." Salty shouted as his crew scoffed, slightly taken aback. They fast shook off their feelings after being doused in sea water again.
"IN THE PRESANCE OF THOSE HERE TO WITNESS..." Caitlin shouted through tears of both joy and fear. Gordon looked at her encouragingly. He knew she could be courageous. Thats what he loved the most about her, was that despite her high strung and never-ending energy, she could be very brave and triumph through tough times.
"I OFFER YOU MY SOLEMN VOW..." Salty shouted.
"I OFFER YOU MY SOLEMN VOW..." The sea continued to batter them as Cailtin shouted.
"TO BE YOUR FAITHFUL PARTNER..." Salty shouted.
"TO BE YOUR FAITHFUL PARTNER..." Caitlin repeated.
"IN SICKNESS AND IN HEALTH..." Salty Shouted.
"IN SICKNESS AND IN HEALTH..." Caitlin repeated.
"IN GOOD TIMES AND IN BAD..." Salty shouted.
"IN GOOD TIMES AND IN BAD..." Caitlin repeated.
"IN JOY AS WELL AS IN SORROW..." Salty shouted.
"IN JOY AS WELL AS IN SORROW..." Caitlin followed.
"I PROMISE TO LOVE YOU UNCONDITIONALLY..." Salty shouted.
"I PROMISE TO LOVE YOU UNCONDITIONALLY..." Caitlin followed.
"TO SUPPORT YOU IN YOUR GOALS..." Salty shouted.
"TO SUPPORT YOU IN YOUR GOALS..." Caitlin repeated.
"TO HONOR AND RESPECT YOU..." Salty shouted.
"TO HONOR AND RESPECT YOU..." Caitlin repeated.
"TO LAUGH WITH YOU AND CRY WITH YOU..." Salty shouted.
"TO LAUGH WITH YOU AND CRY WITH YOU..." Caitlin repeated.
"AND TO CHERISH YOU AS LONG AS WE BOTH SHALL LIVE..." Salty shouted.
"AND TO CHERISH YOU AS LONG AS WE BOTH SHALL LIVE..." Caitlin finished.
Everyone was soaked and shivering by the time Caitlin finished her vows. Both their fires had both gone out, but the impromptu ceremony did go on, even in hurricane force winds.
" ARE YA READY GORDON, ME HEARTY?" Salty shouted above the still howling wind.
Gordon took a big deep breath, and then looked at Salty, then back to Caitlin, signaling that he was indeed ready.
"I, GORDON OF THE NORTHWESTERN RAILWAY..." Salty shouted.
"I, GORDON OF THE NORTHWESTERN RAILWAY..." Gordon repeated, proud of his origins.
"TAKE YOU CAITLIN..." Salty shouted.
"TAKE YOU CAITLIN..." Gordon repeated.
"TO BE MY WIFE..." Salty shouted.
"TO BE MY WIFE..." Gordon repeated happily.
"MY CONSTANT BEST FRIEND..." Salty shouted.
"MY CONSTANT BEST FRIEND..." Gordon repeated, now smiling a little.
"MY FAITHFUL PARTNER..." Salty shouted
"MY FAITHFUL PARTNER..." Gordon repeated
"AND MY BELOVED FROM THIS DAY FORWARD..." Salty shouted.
"AND MY BELOVED FROM THIS DAY FORWARD..." Gordon repeated.
"IN THE PRESANCE OF THOSE HERE TO WITNESS..." Salty shouted.

"I OFFER YOU MY SOLEMN VOW..." Salty shouted.

"IN JOY AS WELL AS SORROW..." Salty shouted.

"I PROMISE TO LOVE YOU UNCONDITIONALLY..." Salty shouted.

"TO LAUGH WITH YOU AND CRY WITH YOU..." Gordon repeated.
"AND TO CHERISH YOU AS LONG AS WE BOTH SHALL LIVE..." Salty shouted.
"AND TO CHERISH YOU AS LONG AS WE BOTH SHALL LIVE..." Gordon finished.
Salty as well as everyone else were thoroughly annoyed, cold, and soaked at this point, so salty hurried along.
"BY THE POWER INVESTED IN ME AND BY THE ISLAND OF SODOR, I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU..." Salty was cut off by another spray of saltwater from the storm surge.
"OH FOR FUCKS SAKE JUST KISS ALREADY!" Salty shouted, thoroughly annoyed.
Gordon and Caitlin closed the distance between each other and embraced one another in the sweetest of kisses.
Needless to say the storm eventually calmed and the news of Gordon and Caitlins marriage quickly spread across the island and a large reception was soon to be held at Tidmouth sheds, but as Victor Tanzig says, that is a story for another day.
