I always dreamed of marrying Roxanne ever since I first saw her at Spoonerville High School and I couldn't believe it became a reality. A reality that was better than all the dreams I had of it. Arranging the wedding was a lot of hard work, but it was worth everything we did to make it the very best it could possibly be and neither I nor Roxanne would have done anything different.
We arranged the wedding day a whole year later after the day I proposed to her so we could arrange everything steadily and properly instead of rushing around, trying to squeeze everything in and tiring ourselves so much that we wouldn't enjoy our very special day. The first thing we did was to make sure we had enough money for the wedding. As you know, it's traditional for the bride's family to pay for the wedding, but Roxanne had no family from her side left alive. Luckily, we had enough money to pay for own wedding, but my dad offered to pay for it. In fact, he insisted it because he had enough to pay for everything after a recent adventure he had with his friend Scrooge McDuck. My dad had helped Scrooge and his family and friends find some very rare Inca treasure pieces in South America and he helped them beat Scrooge's archenemies, Glomgold, the Beagle Boys and Magica De Spell to get them. For his efforts to help him find the treasure and beat his archenemies on that adventure, Scrooge awarded my dad by giving him enough money so he could pay for the very best wedding Roxanne and I could have and that was how it was arranged. And also because her dad was no longer alive, Roxanne asked my dad to give her away at the wedding and he was honored to do so.
Now that we had more than enough money to make the wedding the very best it could possibly be, Roxanne and I went to look for venues to host the wedding reception. We met around Spoonerville and inspected plenty of them and the one we went with was the Spoonerville Grand Hotel, the best and most expensive hotel in the whole town. The wedding planner and events manager of the hotel, Jose Carioca, helped us arrange everything we needed for the wedding reception, including the royal suite, the catering (the head chef at the hotel was once a sous chef for one of PJ's restaurants before he came to work here), the music, fun activities for kids and everything. The more we worked with Jose on planning this wedding, the more we felt that the hotel was the perfect venue for the wedding reception and the more we felt that Jose was the perfect manager to help us arrange everything and he was extremely helpful.
Now that the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception was sorted out, the Spoonerville Church for the ceremony and the Spoonerville Grand Hotel for the reception, Roxanne and I started to invite people to our wedding. I invited my dad, Sylvia and Hannah and the rest of my side of the family, including my cousin Debbie and her partner Susan and members from Sylvia's side. Roxanne and I also allowed my dad to invite his friends, including Mickey Mouse, his dog Pluto, his girlfriend Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Scrooge McDuck, Huey, Dewey and Louie, Pete and Judy, Peg and Henry and Pistol and Oliver, Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar among them.
And Roxanne and I invited our friends, including PJ, Lucy, Bobby, Stacey, Lauren, Lisa, Timothy, our godchildren and even my college ex-girlfriends, Lola, Sasha and Charlotte.
It was a hard choice to choose between PJ and Bobby to be my best man. Even though they were both my best friends and they were like brothers to me, I felt that I had to go with PJ because he was my very first friend ever and had always been like my brother to me the most. Bobby was cool with it and he was still honored to be a groomsman. I also asked for my godsons Patrick and Benny to be junior groomsmen and they were delighted and so were their parents.
As for Roxanne, it was hard to choose who she wanted to be for her maid of honor. After a lot of thinking, she decided to choose Stacey as her maid of honor because, even when they didn't speak for eight years while Roxanne was living in San Siesta, she always viewed her as her very best friend and the one who had the longest sisterhood with and she still did and she still does. She chose her other friends Vicky and Valeria to be her bridesmaids and they were very happy to be so. She also asked our godchildren Alicia, Penelope, Sabrina and Regina to be junior bridesmaids and they were delighted and so were their parents. She also asked my sister Hannah to be her flower girl and Hannah was very honored and so were my dad and Sylvia.
As well as inviting our friend Lisa as well as her boyfriend Timothy and her kids Bennie and Alicia to our wedding, Roxanne and I hired her to help us and everyone invited at our wedding to look our very best for our wedding because after all she is the most powerful figure in the fashion world, so if anyone knows how to look their very best for their wedding, it's her.
When Roxanne and I and all our guests went to visit her, Lisa used her power at Gleaming to find the correct clothes for us all. After trying so many clothes on, we finally found the perfect wedding suit for me, the perfect wedding dress for Roxanne, the best suits for PJ and Bobby and my junior groomsmen and the best dresses for Roxanne's bridesmaids and the rest of the suits and dresses for the other guests. It took a long time, but it was all worth it and we were very grateful for Lisa's time and efforts to arrange it.
I'll never forget my bachelor's party weekend, which was the weekend before my actual wedding day and it happened in Lake Tahoe. While I went there with PJ and Bobby, Roxanne went to San Francisco with her friends for her bachelorette's party that Stacey arranged. While we went to our parties with our friends, my dad, Sylvia and Hannah looked after our godchildren and they did a great job.
My bachelor's party was brilliant; PJ couldn't have done a better job of arranging it. PJ, Bobby and I stayed at a nice wooden lodge, which we all liked a lot, and we had a lot of fun during the weekend, including going hiking and doing the Eagle Falls Trail and Rubicon Trail, seeing a lot of historic places including Vikingsholm and the Tallac Historic Site among them, chilling on the beaches, doing water sports on the lake and eating at plenty of restaurants. So, yeah, it was totally awesome.
I arrived back home on Monday and I rested from all that awesome fun from my bachelor's weekend. Roxanne returned from her amazing bachelorette's party too. After I told her about my incredible bachelor's party at Lake Tahoe, she told me all about her incredible weekend in San Francisco and how much she enjoyed seeing the city with her friends and how much she enjoyed the hotel and her wonderful bachelorette's party that Stacey brilliantly arranged and hosted. Roxanne said that Stacey was still an amazing party sorceress like she was during high school.
Two days before the wedding day, the time came when Roxanne and I had to go and get ready for our wedding and not see each other before the wedding. I stayed at my house while Roxanne went with Stacey and her bridesmaids to stay at the Spoonerville Grand Hotel. The longer we were from each other, the more we missed each other and it made our hearts grow fonder and wished that our wedding would happen sooner than later.
