Robin walked calmly down the street, finally reaching the forest.
he took a final glance at the T shaped tower in the far distance before turning around and walking into the trees.
reaching a clearing, he sat down and began getting out his supplies.
suddenly the tree tops pressed together, blocking out the sunlight from the clearing.
"what the?" Robin muttered, curious at what he was seeing.
a dark figure with a long tail appeared in between the trees, stepping out into the open space.
the figure stopped in the middle of the clearing.
they then muttered something under their breath.
after a few moments, the treetops pulled away from one spot, creating a circle of light where the figure was standing. the figure was revealed to be a boy about Robins age. he had short, dark blue wavy hair and a light suntan on his arms, legs and face. he wore a loose light blue and white tunic, denim shorts and tall black boots. the tip of his ears were pointed and he had a long snake like tail with a tuft of dark blue wavy hair at the end.
"can I join?" he asked with a smile, his walnut brown eyes twinkling in the light.
"uh...sure" Robin said, his guard up high.
"my names David" the boy said, sitting down in front of Robin as the treetops separated back to normal.
"Robin" the black haired teenager replied. his hair had all fallen down into his natural shape without him using hair gel and now he had to push it away from his face every few seconds.
"oh, I have a hairclip somewhere" David said, pushing his hand into his pocket.
he pulled out a flowery pink hairclip and held it out for Robin to take.
Robin looked up at him confused.
"what? I like pink! and purple and green and-" David was cut off by Robin taking the hairclip and using it to pull his fringe out of his face.
"thanks" Robin smiled, grateful for the kind gesture.
"so what brings you around these parts?" David asked, sitting back down.
"I kind of quit the titans and now I'm trying to figure out what to do now" Robin replied, opening the plastic container for his sandwich.
"the titans? aren't they the superpowered weirdos and the athletic hot teenager?" David asked.
"hot!?" Robin exclaimed, his face bright red.
David stared at him for a moment before his own face turned bright red.
"oh-oh I didn't mean it like that!" David stuttered in embarrassment, his tail curling up to look like a long spring.
"you think I'm hot?" Robin mumbled.
"uh...yeah, probably because you just stand out to me in all the pictures as the only one who doesn't look hideous" David explained.
"they usually called me disgusting and ugly" Robin admitted.
"glad you left, sounds like they're using you as a scapegoat for their own insecurities" David replied, waving his hand in the air.
"I never thought of it like that" Robin loudly muttered.
"you know, there was this one time where three of them played a prank on me where they told me my dead parents were waiting for me in my room and made me run into a web of tape" Robin casually said.
"that's not a prank! that's abuse!" David declared, the flowers around them reacting to his emotions.
"oh" Robin muttered.
the two ate in silence for a few minutes before Robin started up another conversation.
"so, what are you exactly?" Robin asked.
"I'm a bi romantic gay!" David replied.
"no, I mean your species" Robin said, gesturing to his tail and ears.
"I'm an elf, specifically a nature elf. I can command the plants around me, although sometimes they don't listen" David explained with a smile.
"good to know" Robin smiled back, happy to make a new friend.
